Success of the week: I managed to get my ten-day average weight down to my ultimate goal weight again after the pandemic gains starting back in March.
Struggle of the week: Wildfires. I had one crazy food day and ate more than double my calorie allowance (143% of goal). The scale spiked four pounds the next day, but the successful thing about it is I didn't freak out about it. I knew it was just one day. That was yesterday morning. Today half that four pounds has dropped back off. I expect some to stick around because I was about 3200 calories over which should equate to about a pound, but only if my body was actually able to assimilate all those calories from food. Today is always a new day, so I'll be moving forward. It's really not THAT big a struggle!

Air clear!!!!🎉
Back to walking & many more steps🎉
That did not cause weight to go up...in fact, it keeps going down!! 🎉
Daily mindfulness & creative making are really improving my life more than I ever realized they would.🎉
I’ve realized how much of my overeating was to handle worries or sadness. With those addressed more through activity & mindfulness/guided visualizations- I now eat MUCH more often simply for fuel.

Success: We got rain on Friday and the air cleared! Hooray! What a huge difference it made. I went for a run on Friday and Saturday and got to row this morning. Beautiful still water. And I'm feeling so much more comfortable in a racing shell. Now I can start focusing on power instead of putting everything into staying balanced.
Weight seems to have stabilized near the 166 mark, so I moved my maintenance range down. Dropping just 5 pounds made a huge difference in my appearance. I actually look thin! - for the first time in my life since college. I did a little clothes shopping yesterday and everything I bought was a size 10 or medium. I still can't quite wrap my head around it.
Struggles: After 10 days of hazardous air, I was feeling so depressed. I realized exactly how it made me feel - those of you who are Harry Potter fans will get it. Remember Ron Weasley's description of what it feels like to be in the presence of a Dementor - that it makes you feel cold and like you will never be happy again? That was it in a nutshell. But the rain acted as a Patronus spell and sunshine and happiness have returned.4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm now squarely back in range and making progress downwards towards where I prefer to be. This weekend, I went on a long, pretty challenging hike with my boyfriend that ended up being about 12 miles and 29k steps. It was definitely a good workout and my legs are still feeling it. I don't know how accurate it is, but according to Fitbit, I burned about 3800 calories for the day.3 -

Forgot to post last week. Got derailed by a bit of PMS, just didn't have normal level of motivation, didn't stick to my normal IF schedule, didn't do my normal exercise... weight has gone up as a result, over my set maintenance zone. This week I've got to try and pull myself back in line... but I'll be honest and say I feel that "slump" in motivation sucking at my heels.

YOU can do it!
Focus on the change that will help the most.
Likely calories in...?
Figure out how to make calories in better most easily.
Do that.
What helps me is to Really Remember how much I hate dieting. I’d rather cut some calories now than ever diet again.
You CAN do this.3 -

Successes/struggles:
Success – I was very strict last week after returning home from a weekend away, lots of exercise, sensible food, eating at a deficit. Weighed in at 48.8 kg on Saturday morning. But Saturday was my birthday so obviously indulged at dinner with wine, cheesecake and chocolates. (Finished the chocolates on Sunday)
Struggles: this shouldn’t be a struggle but I still have difficulty accepting a spike in weight, even though I’m still well within my goal and lighter than I thought I wanted when I started the weight loss journey in 2018. I set my goal then at 50 kg which is less than the 8 stone goal I had back in 2000 when I had a previous (successful) weight loss. Both numbers were chosen for simplicity, they both give me a healthy BMI. I certainly don’t need to be less than 48 kg – it is too skinny. But I have got a bit of a fixation about going over 49. It’s a mental thing, and I suppose the Covid situation is perhaps making it difficult to be relaxed about anything related to health and wellbeing.

Yes, this is a challenge. I hope you can get past it being a struggle There may well be one day when you see that big spike, step back, and say, "Meh; it will be with me a day or five, but that's all. This is how maintenance works." I didn't think it would happen to me, but it did this week. I wager it will happen to you at some point. When it does, NOTICE it and embrace it.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
My weight is up a little. I think it is because of the smoke (that is now over here!) had keep me from working in the yard or going for walks. It could also be that I ate more than I logged due to the stress of it all. Back to walking this last weekend and exercise class this morning (utube). I'm feeling much better and expect eating and weight will be back to normal.1 -
@mtaratoot , thanks for the kind words of support.
I do know it really, I lost weight 20 years ago in the run up to my 50th birthday and maintained very well for over 10 years, gaining and losing the same 5 lbs (sometimes more) over and over. As I said, I think this virus pandemic and the relentless news and dire warnings is getting to me.
I'm usually a very upbeat, optimistic, person but the last 12 months have been difficult and the current situation is horrible.
I'm lucky compared to those folks over on the west coast of the States with your fires, must count my blessings.3 -

Success/Struggles: After my Labor Day blowout, buckled down for two weeks and dropped a bunch of weight. My oldest came back home for a visit so we had some food and drinks again with him, put a few of those pounds back on again but still well within goal weight range after losing a few extras the weeks before in anticipation of another fun weekend! It seems to be keeping me within my range by being good during the week (eating under goal) then eating over on the weekends if I want to. Maybe not the sanest or safest way to stay in maintenance but its working so far…

I've been the exact same way as of late, not very motivated to do my workouts. Diet is ok, but I've been very lethargic and apathetic about exercising. I'm still doing my workouts and powering through them though knowing that I need to do them and that its just a temporary thing. I think that's the difference between successful people and not successful people: getting it done even when you aren't feeling it.
You can do this! There's nothing wrong with taking a few days off here or there, I do that. Just try to make sure a few days doesn't turn into a few weeks, right?5 -
60 Days in, sticking to it everyday. 10 lbs lost on scale but have gained muscle. this is my first time really getting in shape since high school, going the distance.3

I’m trying to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.
Struggle of the week: Still had a sore hip, but the rest is doing me good.
Success of the week: Big drop in weight again.
Eating the plant-based whole foods with just a few low-processed treats has meant I haven’t been hungry as much and I’ve been under my maintenance calorie goal every day. I’ll be back in my “maintenance range” in a few days if I keep this up.

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

I got a great compliment from one of the coaches today - he said he didn't recognize me right away because my rowing had improved. I'm learning to relax and center myself in the boat so that the boat becomes an extension of my body.
Struggles: Had a couple of days this week where I had a stress eating mini binge (that did not get fully logged!). Watching the news sometimes is just too much. But I managed to adjust those extra, unlogged calories and not actually put on any weight. Maybe next time this happens, I'll do a quick run around the block to work off the stress. I picked up a light-up safety vest so I can run/row in the dark as the days get shorter, so no excuse.4 -

Successes: I joined a gym! I'm no longer going to be a "lazy runner" and I'm going to put some focus into strength!!
Struggles: Stepping on the scale often enough to get a picture that isnt skewed. Todays weigh in is likely high due to timing, and just starting a full body workout routine recently along with some food choices. We're going to try to work on balance moving forward

Success/Struggles: I didn't post last week. It has been a difficult couple of weeks. My dad passed away early in the morning on Wednesday September 16th. It has been terrible, but he did not have covid and so my mom and my four sisters and myself were all able to be with him until the end and he didn't have to die alone. He was 83 and my parents were married almost 58 years. We had the funeral on Monday the 21st. It was a lovely fall day and we just had a graveside service.
I didn't worry about my weight at all the last two weeks. But I did weigh most days as is my habit. Looking back I maintained my weight pretty well. I had a few days early on where I didn't eat much at all and my weigh-ins were low and then a few says of snacking on foods because they were there and also because I knew I did need to eat something and my weigh-ins were high, but it all averaged out in the end. I got a few short runs in, but no yoga. But now I am trying to get back to my normal exercise and eating routine. It's hard, but it also helps.8 -
@kgirlhart
I'm so sorry to read your news. I'm also glad your family got to be together at the end. Please give me a shout out if there's anything I can do to help; I doubt there is. It will be a long process to grieve. My heart pains for your sorrow.3 -

Successes/struggles: I expected September would see a weight rise – we managed a family get-together to celebrate my 70th birthday just before the “rule of 6” came in, and my boyfriend and I had a special dinner.
I’m maintaining well. The next few months look to be more of a struggle mentally as the restrictions get increased again.
Stay safe
