What Mini Goal is motivating you right now!

In 8 lbs, I leave "obese" for overweight. I'm having a hard time getting back on track after taking time to stay with my mother, whose starting to suffer from memory loss. And today was my daughter's 19th birthday, and her friends have showered her (our house) with junk food . . . I know how to do this, I know how to do this, I know how to do this. I just need to get myself in gear.16

Losing enough so that my feet and ankles stop being swollen at the end of the day.10

My mini goal right now is hitting 150, simply because it's a nice, easy number and I'm only 3 lb away.
I think my next mini goal is fitting my old work slacks, and I'm not too far from that one!9 -
My mini goal is my 5kg weight loss mark by the time me and my partner go on our minibreak at the end of October (Halloweeeeen lol).
Totally do'able and it takes me from 110 down to 105kg.8 -
My next mini goal is to hit 210 or under and I'm 2.5 lbs away from that goal. Hitting 25lbs in total. I'll be treating myself to a new handbag!11

Taking a shower and working on completing an assignment for work tomorrow well before bedtime.11

That resonates! Not all mini-goals are weight related. Cook dinner and get that work assignment done would be mine...

Losing 10 pounds by Christmas. It doesn't sound like much, but I just lost my first 10 pounds (started 8/1) and I have calculated a pound a week between now and Christmas that doesn't include Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, or the mini vacation my DH and I have planned in October. I'm trying to approach this very realistically this time around. If it takes me a year to meet my goal of 40 pounds then so be it.18

I want to get to where I have a cleaning schedule for the house again. I've always tried to have one, but it always had to be compromised by my chronic pain and fatigue. But with this surge of energy, maybe I can make one and have it be...just what I do, every morning.
Of course, yesterday's cleaning of the bedroom was thrown off by Boyfriend's need to spend large chunks of the day in bed. It's why I'm finishing it up now. But I have high hopes for a schedule I can keep in the future.10 -
I am staying 161-162, dirn I want the 150's, even 159 hopefully by the holidays.7

Today the head space was awful. Probably just over tired from night shift but I had to force myself to go on a bike ride and even then it was bad. So the mini thing motivating me today is just keep going. It's a marathon not a sprint! Every day is different. Some are amazing and others are absolute garbage. I know as long as I keep putting in the effort it will work out in the end.13

I just have all the confidence that you will succeed! Having such a down to earth realistic approach is so key to long term success (I’ve found) for me, it helps my headspace which in turn contributes to my continued success. I love that you’re not counting those weeks as 1lb loss weeks! It’s such a smart way to approach it! Thanks for sharing! You’ve encouraged me to apply this approach to the next few months so I can set better expectations. Things have been going really well and I’ve been counting the weeks we’ve spent visiting family as maintenance weeks, but it would be helpful to take it that one step further and make a running tally of what I could expect to lose between now and Christmas. <—-guess that there would be a new mini goal8 -

Jumped on the scale mid week and I was down to 98.8 - I’m chasing hard and I will hunt down 95
Also my arms are starting to look like not fat arms, like regular person arms6 -

(10 September) Oh and my new mini goal? (Duh! I was so excited at getting to two-thirds of the way to goal for the first time!) To be under 80 kg all day, not just in the morning after exercise, and to hit 78.3 kg which will be 75% of the way to goal (which is currently 75 kg).
78.2 kg this morning - whoot, whoot! 75.9% of my way to goal.
This was a real surprise as I have just adjusted my calorie intake to move from losing 1lb/0.5 kg per week to losing 0.5lb/0.25kg per week, so I thought it might take another couple of weeks to get to this point.
I'm not quite at the under 80 kg all day stage, but I am now weighing in at under 81 kg all day, which means I am in normal bmi all the time (even in the evenings with my clothes on). My waist is also now down to 88 cm which is less than half my height (180 cm), which as I discovered recently is another important marker of a healthy weight.
My next mini-goal is to be below 77.5 kg which will take me into the top of my maintenance range (assuming I maintain at 75kg +/- 2.5 kg). Suddenly this feels pretty close! MFP gave me 75.5 kg as my "if every day were like this in five weeks you would weigh..." recently. That was back up to 77.7 kg yesterday, but it was a reminder that my goal is within striking distance.7 -

Good for you! That sounds like really great progress.1 -
Cut the gym membership and bought a treadmill this past weekend - first goal is to use it daily this week. 3 out of 3 so far.9

Thank you for the encouragement. I've always set myself up for failure by making my goals to unrealistic and now I'm trying a new approach. Good luck with your mini-goal.

My current goal is increasing lifts and losing fat. I finished my bulk and upped my bench to 350 lbs, even back in my "prime" a decade ago I only managed 330. Mini goal is hitting 400 by 2022. Fitness goal is 14% bf and 205 lbs by 2022. Currently at 19.2% and 222. Starting was a couple years ago at 254 and 27%9

On Aug 29, coincidentally my twins' birthday, I hit 179.8 for the first time since 1999. My next goal was to stay below 180. I have successfully been below 180 everyday for a month! I am now at 176.8 which is a just astounding to me! Woohoo!
Next mini goal is to see 175 by my birthday in mid October!16
