This is a gain in pounds but yet I feel less dread about the scale. I committed to 10 days of daily weigh-one and I did it! The scale used to delicate my mood. By the end of my 10 days, it didnโt. Hopefully that will continue. I am going to try it again!

10/15 โฆ..208.4 โฆ.. I shed that travel weight quickly with some pretty good choices at home yesterday. Today is a WONDERFUL day for me. I have been going through some very tough things here at home and work and today a wee piece of it is getting resolved. I will explain when I have time. It has been time crunching and gut wrenching at times which has been holding me back from my usual fitness and diet routines. 2 more parts to go and I hope to be all in again by the first of the year. In the meantime, itโs wonderful to see the progression in all parts of my life including these little losses on the scale. Thanks for your support everyone! Iโm finding my way back slowly but surely!

10/14 163.2 lbs under 1100 calories, lots of yard clean up, over 18,000 steps. Our temperatures are forcasted to continually drop from 30's down to 20's for highs in the next week. Time to winterize everything. But my back did not agree with putting all the outside furniture away and now I walk as slow as a turtle. Ugh! Getting old is not for the faint of heart.
10/15 161.4 lbs struggled with snacking and minimal exercise due to back issue. Very surprised at the loss but I did manage to keep calories under 1200 but a bunch of it was candy. I like to believe that candy sugar burns off right away unlike other foods. HaHa.9 -

10/14 217.0 lbs, FBG 104. Yesterday I was on zoom for 5+ hours and got no exercise. Not a great start to the challenge, but Tuesdays are my hardest day at work and I just have to let Tuesdays go. Today is NOT called Tuesday, and I'm going to cook, strength train, and find a way to have fun.
10/15 216.1, FBG 103. Keep going down blood glucose! Pretty please? I did a great job cooking yesterday - I made chickpea flour pasta with arugula walnut pesto, and ethiopian cabbage and carrots. I still need to get more exercise. Yeah the weight is going down, but I'm terrified I'm just losing muscle. Gotta build it back.

10/15 - 147.2 - Ugh, yesterday was HARD. I donโt know what the trigger was (lack of sleep? hormones? too much calorie restriction?) but I was SO HUNGRY all day. I wanted to eat everything in sight. I managed to mostly stick to my meal plan, but still indulged in some extra bites here and there. Iโm happy about the scale going down, but Iโve got to make some modifications if I keep feeling like this. Itโs not worth it and definitely not sustainable.

Due to all of these fluctuations, I will wait it out another round before I consider my mini goal of 158 achieved. I'm still on cloud nine just getting into the 150s. Female age 62 5' 4โ - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight โ I'm working at it โ it's a permanent way of life !

10/15 - 150.8 - Shocking since I only fasted 15.75hr yesterday - my body wanted food and nothing was stopping those hunger signals! Also, a heavy dinner consisting of homemade spaghetti, garlic toast, and a caesar salad. Finished off the bottle of wine with FamWife we opened for dinner yesterday (1 glass each both nights). Today fasted 16.5hrs and broke it with Taco Bell. Its our guilty pleasure and its 30 minutes away so not common for us -- only when we go into that town for a specific reason. Today was going to the range. I could practice with my new(ish) 9mm and the boys could zero their rifles with the new scopes in preparation for deer season. Consolidated all the camping stuff we have on hand and packed that. Just need to pack Fam's stuff (including tent, air mattress for back of truck, and their sleeping bags), go shopping for the rest (mostly food), and pack that stuff up. I'm so READY! Hoping for 12hr fasts while out there. Body isn't quite fully fat adapted to be able to hike and such while fasting, no need to push it and cause harm. Here's where patience comes in -- hopefully I can stay content with the slow changes. The test will be whether my belt stays in the smaller notch after this weekend (once it dropped, it stayed down so far). I feel so much better without the constant bloat - hoping I won't undo all that. I'll see y'all Monday!! Have a wonderful weekend, all

Previous Day's Comments10/14 - Normal fluctuation? Not sure. Food was way off yesterday. I was super hungry so I finished my fast at about 16hrs. But dinner I couldn't tell if hungry so I had a bit to eat but then felt really full about an hour later. Still learning my body's language, so not too worried. I knew it wouldn't happen immediately and I need to be patient and forgiving with myself. I will say, not tracking and being more mindful about food in general has been super freeing. The fairly consistent weigh ins have been an added bonus. Normally I'm constantly stressed about food, monitoring everything that goes in my body, and letting food control me. Now I let my body control it all and tell me what it needs and when. I've managed one challenge, my birthday, with fasting. Great results! Without it, I'd likely still be battling the weight gain. Next up starts Friday with camping. I won't have cell or internet service so I can't really track or post. As it is my birthday gift, I'm not a part of the planning of food and such, just which trails I'd like to hike and where I'd like to see within the park. Will be interesting to see how fasting and my body will play a part in all of this. Definitely will be a learning experience (:

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle. Getting back to it slowly.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.
