Any food with the word pie has got to be the better choice. :) Actually it was the Frito part that I wanted, haven't had those in years.

    I love Frito chili pie!
Unfortunately I do not have Fritos or chili !!!

Mousetrap saga continues... Two days and no mice - yay!

To be safe, though.. I bought a "better" mouse trap this weekend. The mousetrap claims to catch and kill them more efficiently. So I go downstairs to check the traps this morning and what do I see? A live mouse, hanging by it's leg, off the rafter, trapped against the water pipe. So NOT ONLY did it NOT die, it hung by it's poor little mouse leg all freaking night.

I found a wrench to disengage the trap and took that it outside. I disengaged the trap and the poor thing scurried off.

I can't take much more of this. I can't kill them myself - even when they're hurt and I feel so upset (and pathetic for feeling that way). I can't stop thinking about how much it must be hurting and it's my fault.

Yeah a lot of you might be laughing at me, but it's horrible being stuck in this mind of mine. I can't stop thinking about what it must feel like, and its like I feel it myself. I am sick to my stomach about this.

    "Happy" monday. sigh.

Maybe have a contractor over to seal up your house better?

My house is over 110 years old and was built in three different eras. Some of the construction methods were... unconventional, and I have a number of really odd access places, some which are very difficult to reach. I've had a couple contractors look at it (along with heating issues that arise when it hits -40) and the cost would be way to prohibitive for me right now. I think I may have found one spot that they may be coming in, but the contractor figures there may be a multitude of access points. I think that right now I have to firefight, instead of fireproof.

One day, I'd love to fix it, but right now I just can't afford to.

Life can be a cruel creature; I think that's why we're all here, to help others through it.
Thank you Diatonic12, for being a post to many <3

@ReenieHJ Tell your dear sis-in-law, after talking with the folkaronies here, that she's got to get rid of those mice in the attic. They'll go directly over to where the wiring is, fall down through the walls and build nests. Then they'll chew threw whatever is in there way and come directly into the house. In the silverware drawers, everywhere. Hantavirus is real. They have got to go. She needs an exterminator. Pronto. All of this affects the equity of the house if she wants to sell in the future.

@Revolu7 You're not holding up any liquor stores, so what the hay. I surmise your brain is running on all cylinders.

Perforate, frac, run pipe, get it completed quickly with everyone performing their jobs properly, (that’s kind of a hit or miss, 🙄).
I guess it’s asking too much and that is really starting to piss me off. 🤬

If you could become immortal on the condition you would NEVER be able to die or kill yourself, would you choose immortality?

Interesting, could you give your deep thoughts about your answer, as to why not

Same here. There'd have to be lots of other conditions for me to say yes. I'd have to stay young enough to remain mobile and of sound mind/body/spirit plus your deal would have to include everybody else in my life. I'd kind of like to see what the far future brings but then, maybe not?

Probably not. I’m not doing so well 31 years in so I can’t imagine living the rat race forever.

Nope. Life is wonderful, but exhausting. I don't think I could handle more than 80 years. I'd hate to see loved ones come and go, everyone you loved would die. Repeatedly. It'd be the most lonely eternity.

    Probably not.

As cool as it would be to remain immortal (assuming I get to be immortal at say the age of 21-25) as opposed to being an ancient immortal, I would eventually get bored and then saddened by the fact that everyone I knew and ever will know will die, meaning I will be left alone with the knowledge that I will always outlive them.

Eventually, I'd just end up as some immortal hermit, the stuff of myth. The weird old lady witch who lives on the mountain with her cat familiars, who may or may not have an enchanted walking hut and a penchant for eating small children.

On the one hand, cool. People will leave me alone. On the other hand? I don't really want to be known as the "eater of children" or turned into a Stephen King novel. :D
