My mom was a Fulbright scholar and went to school in Germany only a few years after WWII (53-54).
She had a boyfriend whose father was an artist.
He gifted her an original when she left.
I have been told his name was Ernst Erbe.
I can not read the german on the picture.
I believe he was in the Westfalen area.
Can anyone translate this for me?
Just thought I’d try.
Thanks!

@honeybee__12 how exciting! You may want to get it appraised if you haven't already.1

I should, you’re right.
Could I possibly be that lucky?
Nah, never happen.
I just want to be sure he wasn’t a Nazi.
Won’t keep the pic if he was.

Disagreed, but respectfully. 😁
I love my cats. I've had dogs too, and love them, but I think cats are pretty freaking awesome. 😊4 -

I was planning to do my workout yesterday...but I put it off til after supper... And then my kids were begging me to put up the tree. It's way early for us, but we all seem to need it, and this is the first year that my kids have wanted it. So I didn't work out.
I WILL do it today. Coffee is done... I'm awake... Kids are still in bed... So now's as good a time as any!6 -
@honeybee__12 Hope you have a wonderful day. You too, @motorsheen.4

That is awesome! I do not handle 4am well. Lol. The only time I see that number on the clock willingly is when I stay up for it!
I can barely get my limbs moving in the right direction until after six... To try and entertain slapping a hundred pounds on my back...? That's a recipe for disaster for me. 😂
My strongest times are around 11am... Or after a light dinner. I have been known to push out a lifting session at 11pm though, and that worked pretty well too. The key is whatever works best.
I got 'er done today though, so all is good!6 -
We just had to put a pet to sleep yesterday. Got hit with the sads again when we cleaned out her cage today. I don't know if I can handle having rats again, their lives are just too short.11

I have been contemplating apologizing to you all day. While I regret you thought I was responding to you, I have decided that I think j was perfectly justified in the response directed at someone else and after further clarification I also regret I may not have well enough conveyed that nothing I wrote was directed at anyone other than the initial poster.
When someone responds with an attack at a person instead of the persons thoughts or opinions then I respond in kind. Your responses was not that. His was.
Just as I highly doubted someone else on here would punch me in the face because my opinions differed from hers, I highly doubt you would refer to me as a “misinformed idiot” and suggest I had specific things to attend to. Thus I would never lump you in with the person I was responding to.
Again, I regret there was a disconnect in communication and hope it didn’t sour your evening too much.9 -

Thank you. That little back and forth is such a great reference, although sparingly, imma keep using it if it’s OK with you.
Feel free to tell me if I do do something, I said dodo 😂, that makes you want to punch me in the face or anywhere else. That may be my first indication that I have some serious reflecting to do about my life’s choices.
You’re good people. I appreciate you.5 -

I don't care if you don't agree with his politics, there's this little thing called respect and CLASS. Unfortunately I don't think as many parents are teaching their children how to act appropriately in public anymore, so these spoiled ill behaved children become entitled ill behaved adults who see no problem with screaming and swearing in a restaurant.9 -
Instead of pining for the day when I reach my goal, I am trying to enjoy the process this time. Feels good7

I think I'm more upset/alarmed that they would choose to do that in front of his family. The dude's family has nothing to do with their "beef" and shouldn't have been involved in any way. This applies to any political or company official's family; they are not part of the issue you have with x, y, z, so leave them out of it.
Crap like this is why we can't have nice things.3
