Thanks @katharmonic ! Dad doesn't have a smart phone. He'll barely use a Jitterbug flip phone - I don't think they call them that anymore, but you get the idea.
@kgirlhart Sounds like a rest day would be smart. I hope that's all it needs and you'll be able to run later in the week. Glad you got your medal.
@shanaber Mom and dad can't hear AT ALL without their hearing aids. Who knows what they think is said that isn't. I know that has to be hard. Mom reads lips too, so she has a really hard time with the mask situation and the phone. I love that Hilde's are blue tooth enabled. The VA has one place that makes the hearing aids that aren't on location and, because of that, they have a LOT to make. I guess that is why it takes so long. He's doing okay. It's just hard. Mom's hearing aids have a microphone that connects straight to her hearing aids. I wish she would use it more often, but tends to only use it for things like Sunday School, which they haven't been to in a long time. She says it picks up too much background noise. Hope your hamstring gets better quickly.
You're doing great @eleanorhawkins !
Pretty @polskagirl01 ! I love it when the frost is heavy on everything and makes even the weeds sparkle and pretty.
Good job on picking up the pace for your run.
@mbaker566 Bob is very handsome.
Happy Thanksgiving to those here in the USA and Happy Thursday to everyone else! Like @kgirlhart said, I am very thankful for this group!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today! So very thankful to be a part of this wonderful group!
It's also the birthday of one of my best friends (@quilteryoyo - you remember Sharon). She turned 63 today so we met at a local park and ran 6.3 miles to celebrate. It was a nice 50F. Last year on Thanksgiving I think it was 19F.
Being silly at the end of our run.
Hanging out by the stables
@mbaker566 - Bob is handsome indeed!
@shanaber - I hope your injury heals quickly
@avidkeo - I don't know the difference between the 245 music and the Fenix but I have a 245 and love it. It has a long battery life and gives me all the feedback that I need.7 -

I did a little solo turkey trot 5k this morning before going to the gym for a "Turkey Burn" workout. Alas, my gym DID end up closing this week, but the other location across town is not closed so they moved the class there. The whole "microcluster" approach to businesses being open or closed doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me but that's the way it is. Anyway, it was 50+ degrees out and had just stopped raining so the run was very nice. I had slept in a little more than intended or I would have liked to do a bit more but I had to push it to get 3 miles in before class.
As expected the workout was pretty tough (burpees, ugh). It was fun though and I got to see some friends and feel accomplished for the day. I got home and took Stella out for her walk and we did another 3.1 miles for my second 5k of the day. In a little while I'm going to meet a friend for a third 5k - she wants to walk a virtual turkey trot because she's recovering from injury and can't run. And she has a turkey costume that she's threatening to wear. I mean, it's a full-on enormous costume (CORRECTION - it's a person RIDING a turkey costume!!!). LOL. I'm sure she will because she's crazy and she's a well-known fixture in the town where we're walking, and people will love it. I have no Thanksgiving themed wear, except an old turkey trot shirt so I'm going to have to play the straight man to her comedy stylings.
Happy thanksgiving all! Grateful to have this group of people!7 -
Very thankful that the weather was fabulous today. Thankful that I can run a sub 2hr HM fairly easily today. Thankful that both my kids are gainfully employed and drove up from Houston together to visit for a few days. Thankful we are all healthy.
And very thankful for this MFP family!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today.
Oh, and thankful I met my November goal today 😊
ETA: Thank you @Camaramandy648 and anonymous donor for my Pastor Vincent medal 🥇. It came in the mail yesterday!! It looks awesome!!8 -
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here in the US! I ran my 10k Turkey Trot in my neighborhood this morning. When I woke up, I looked at the weather, and a line of storms was on the way. I headed on out and although it rained for probably four miles, it didn’t start thundering until I was less than half a mile from home. In addition to a medal, my Turkey Trot also came with a jacket and beanie.
I also ran 2.5 miles last night. My PastorVincent medal came in the mail year as well.

@Teresa502 Tell Sharon Happy Birthday for me! Awesome that so many friends met to run 6.3 miles to celebrate!
@katharmonic You have a very busy day planned. You'll have to get a picture of your friend in her costume. Sounds like fun.
Nice run @marisap2010 !
Nice HM time @Scott6255 ! Congrats on meeting your month's goal. Enjoy your family while they are there.

I didn't sign up for a Turkey Trot today, but had fully intended to get up early and run a 5K Treadmill Turkey Trot before I went to my neighbor's for Thanksgiving. I had the alarm set for 5:30, hit the snooze until 6:15, and decided to just turn it off and go back to sleep. I just couldn't make myself get up.
I did, however, make myself go out and do driveway laps about 2.5 hours after the meal. I wasn't sure how that would go, but it felt pretty good. I actually went about 30 sec/mile faster than I did yesterday, even though I felt like I was running slower. My HR was higher, so I guess I was working harder than I thought. I ran 3.25 miles, picking up the pace for the last quarter of a mile and doing that at a 9:45 min/mile pace, which is decent for me.

@mbaker566 I love Bob!
I don't stop with Shadow. Most people love her but she gets protective of me. She lets men pet her and then she'll suddenly snap her head and low growl. She doesn't show teeth or bite. When we hike Justin let's everyone pet her & she's fine. She's fine when its just him. Apparently I need her protection. Staffys are known to be protective and attached to their owners.4 -
Got my Pastor Vincent medal last night! My husband wanted me to pass along the message that he hasn’t forgotten he promised to do a memory book for Kristi and everyone - work and stress got on top of him for a while but he is putting it together. The medals are so beautiful and completely professional looking! Thank you, you know who you are.6

Thankful Turkey 5k today! The weather was perfect and we just ran like hell.
Strava 5k PR - not an official pr but my official PR was on a short course so this may be my actual fastest 5k over a full course. Today’s virtual race was 27:38 and 3.11 which is 8:53, and our previous in-person race PR was 27:04 over 3.04 miles, which is 8:54. The course we got the PR on is “officially certified” but I’ve run it probably two dozen times and never seen my gps data there anything close to 5k. In any case I’m very satisfied with our performance! I feel like I could have peeled off maybe 20 seconds in the last mile with the right sort of mental toughness, but it was close to my max effort.
Almost no one on the road while we were running which was a nice change. We had a couple cyclists go past and cheer for us and one guy we often see running out there. We did our final sprint near a walker who called out, “Did you win?” And my husband flings his arms out and says, “As far as I can see we finished first!” Then during our cool down walk we passed the train photo kids who all smiled and greeted us. We are friends now, that’s nice!
I hope all the Americans had a lovely Thanksgiving. Getting Pastor Vincent’s medal last night reminded me to be thankful for the things we often take for granted, and to always look for the things to be thankful for even in loss. If you lose something you should always be thankful for the time you got to have it! I am thankful for this crazy year and for getting to know all of you.8 -

I ended up running this morning. When I got up this morning my foot didn't hurt at all. I still considered just doing some yoga, but it was so nice this morning so I decided to go ahead and run. I ran 4.4 miles and it was a really good run. I would have liked to run more, but I didn't really have time. I was a little nervous that my foot would bother afterwards, but it didn't. I'm thinking I must have stepped on a rock or something. It feels fine now.

Happy thanksgiving to all the Americans!
Im Thankful that after MONTHS of injury and rehab, I've officially been given the go ahead to start HM training! Its 12 weeks away, which works perfectly with Hals Novice 1 plan! Ive already signed up and have the weekend off work. And my physio is likely to come to the HM as well - i know him from parkrun before he was my physio lol.
And we have pretry much mapped out my next year. I have a HM in Feb, another one in June which is almost the exact same course so will hopefully PB the second race (winter run in June). Then will start pushing towards the Marathon in Auckland in November.
Woo hoo!
Oh and itsy birthday tomorrow. Going out for a santa parade at lunch time, then out to a restaurant for a late lunch /dinner.

@marisap2010 - Love that jacket! So cute!
@rheddmobile - love your color coordination! Nice job on the 5k PR

Not keeping him. No family yet. So we are working on remedial training. And lots of snuggles
Bob can't go to just any family so I'm going to have him for awhile. Just chatting with families, I've had 4 decide he's to much work. 1 other family met him and passed.
Another application is getting approved today so we'll see.
Doberman, hounds, and such are just not breeds I'd ever want for keeps. I like herding breeds more. We speak each other's language. And northern breeds. Though I do love deerhounds and wolfhounds.
Speed Demon is currently whining because the collie is laying in her spot and won't move6 -
@rheddmobile Congratulations on your PR! That's an amazing pace and sounds like you had an enjoyable run and everyone was so supportive. I love that. You look awesome, btw.
@kgirlhart Glad your foot is all better and you were able to run.
@HonuNui What a great view!
@Avidkeo Yeah for being cleared for you HM training! Happy Birthday to your itsy.
@mbaker566 Poor Speed Demon! Glad your organization is making sure the right family gets the Doberman. They are not for everyone.
I guess I'm really out in the boonies since I haven't received my medal yet. Maybe it will be waiting for me when I get home tonight.5
