12/30 I managed to do a 30 minute bike ride yesterday along with a morning yoga and a yoga routine for anxiety after my day of work. This morning I did a 20 minute little bit of everything yoga video and plan to do a 45 minute spin bike workout later (it’s s new one and the music looked really fun which is why I’m motivated to do the 45 minute ride). It really is crazy how much longer a 45 minute ride feels compared to the 30 or 20ish minute ones.

I'm with you on the difference between a 30 and 45-minute ride! What program are you using that provides music for your rides? I've been watching YouTube videos of a long-distance hiker, Dixie, as she worked on hiking the Triple Crown (her channel is Homemade Wanderlust). That's the only time I allow myself to watch them--when I'm riding--so that provides a little bit of motivation for riding, too. I sometimes can totally forget about how long I'm riding when I am watching the scenery and adventures of her hikes.

That sounds like an awesome youtube channel! I'll have to write that down. My husband and I watch Syntax 77 when he posts new hikes on Youtube, you might like it too because he has done quite a few hikes in the Smokies. He has quite a few in the White Mountains that are closest to us, so it's fun to see trails we haven't done yet or hikes we have and to see the struggles and fun he has on them too.

I use the app called "playbook" and follow Gabriella Guevera. I started off by finding her on Youtube and she would always mention her account on the app. Eventually, I did most of her free rides on Youtube and got sick of adds in youtube, so I splurged and bought the app for a year and have access to continuous new rides (sometimes 3 to 4 new per week) and with varying times from 20 minutes to 60 minutes. The music varies a ton and they are just really fun. Her voice isn't annoying like some I tried on Youtube. With the Playbook app, you also have access to a ton of other trainers who post workouts. So, I found a yoga teacher that I really like so far and have been doing her videos for the past few weeks (Her name is Morgan Tyler). It's $100 for a year and figured it was worth it for my health (also less than what I was paying for my gym). You can also pay monthly but it's more expensive that way. Here's the link if your interested in checking it out https://www.playbookapp.io/for-consumers

12/30 - :)YIPPEE!!!! Goal met! Despite a slow start, I got it done with a couple days to spare. Need to think about my first challenge of 2021 with y'all. Thinking of self care, be it spiritual, mental, or physical health. Like yoga can count for physical and mental. Meditation for mental. Time with my journal or reading a few books on my list that are spiritual in nature. It all ties together, I think. Still brainstorming, but that's what I've come up with idea-wise thus far. Thoughts/ideas welcome if this post sparks your brainwaves into something!

Congratulations on meeting your yoga practice goal! Great job! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your goal for January. I also have a couple other life goal type things in mind that I'll mention since you asked. (I recorded them in my personal journal, but didn't mention them here.) I added the hiking goal this month because I needed that for my mental health, but in addition, I have a Bible Study goal (5/week) and a Service to Others (2/month) goal that I will meet by serving at a Recovery (from addiction) program that is near and dear to my heart.

12/25 MERRY CHRISTMAS!🎄 118.5 Traditional Christmas Eve pizza dinner with family last night. First time to hug DGS#1 since last Christmas. Eating around 7:30 due to DGD#4 working until 7. Today they are coming over for traditional Christmas morn sticky buns which we always had when we opened gifts. Steak dinner today with neighbor.
12/26 118.0 I tried to kill my phone yesterday by knocking over a cup of coffee. It seems to be okay. DGDs #1&2 arrive from Tulsa. I will try to catch up on messages in the next few days.

12/28 DNW Granddaughters based in bathroom with scale. I was on my feet all day yesterday in the kitchen, can’t believe it wasn’t more steps! Sat down to eat then back to the kitchen for clean up. I was exhausted but what a wonderful day and time we had.
12/29 118.5 I was s real slug yesterday. No planned meals but ate low carb leftovers because that is pretty much all we have!😛😁 I did eat 1 homemade dinner roll. In any case, it’s all good. I got over 8 hours of sleep last night! Unheard of!

Let's be thinking about our goals for January as we move into a new year. There are lots of 30-day challenges out there, or you can create your own or continue with a previous fitness goal and track it here. The "goal" is to train together to meet our own individual needs because we are all in such different places in our journeys. This is not a competition between group members, but a way to encourage each other to strive toward our own fitness targets. Who is up for the challenge?

I would like to join in...just not sure what my goals would be yet, but will think on it and come up with something before 2021! Will try to make it SMART. Thanks!!:)
