So I didn't hit my 3,300 miles goal. Excuses? they are multiple, all beyond my control; this year has been a roller coaster exasperated by Corona virus, I'm not going to dwell on them, I'll be eternally grateful to you all in this group for the tremendous support you have given me, thank you so much xx.

KEEP SAFE EVERYONE :). Keep calm – we're all in this together!

    ?゚マᄐ?マᄐ?゚マᄐ This is NOT A DIET - It’s a PERMANENT LIFESTYLE. ?゚マᄐ?゚マᄐ

Don't you dare feel bad about not QUITE meeting a goal as ambitious as this one! My goodness. You walked over 3000 miles!!! I can't even imagine that! You do know that there is a big 365-mile challenge out there that people pay to be a part of, right? But not you! You shoot for 3300 and almost make it in the worst imaginable year!!! What an inspiration you are! I am so stinking proud of you!

Also, I've been meaning to ask where you are? What does Tier 4 mean for you and your family and neighbors? I hope it doesn't last very long.

Thank you that's so sweet of you! We used to subscribe to a Country Walking magazine which included 20 different walks per month throughout the UK with maps and step by step instructions for distances of between 4 and 13 miles, several years ago just before the end of the year they put out a challenge to walk 1000 miles during the year in an effort to encourage as many people as possible to improve both their physical and mental health, the feed back from people was amazing, how it inspired them and so improved their health, even changes some peoples lives! I signed up straight away and that year actually exceeded 2000. I took early retirement in the summer of that year and no longer tied to a desk for 36 hours over 4 days per week my walking immediately increased dramatically. The following year I decided I need to push my goal and went for 3000 which I exceeded again, hence ever since I've aspired to acheive 3,300 which I usually manage.

We live right in the middle of the UK and depending on the number of corona cases in an area it determines which tier that area is in. Tier 4 means stay at home unless you are going to work (where you can't work at home), an educational establishment, for medical treatment, essential shopping or daily exercise. There is no socialising indoors either in private or public places You can meet up with only 1 person outside in a public space, but not in private gardens and all none essential travel is prohibited. In fact it is very close to a full lock down. 3/4 + of the UK are in tier 4 since yesterday. Luckily before Christmas we were in tier 3 and for tiers 1-3 there was an easement on Christmas Day to allow us to see 2 other households, Thank goodness for video calls, we miss our grown-up children and our little grandchildren, it was wonderful to see them on Christmas Day even though it meant a total of 3.5 hours travel in the car for us - it was so worth it! I know some have had it harder, those already in tier 4 immediately befoe Christmas did not have this easement and could not see anyone outside their household unless it was outside in a public place and then only 1 other person, so I am really grateful, I count my blessings.
The tiers are reviewed every 2 weeks, fingers crossed for better news next time.

12/28 DNW Granddaughters based in bathroom with scale. I was on my feet all day yesterday in the kitchen, can’t believe it wasn’t more steps! Sat down to eat then back to the kitchen for clean up. I was exhausted but what a wonderful day and time we had.
12/29 118.5 I was s real slug yesterday. No planned meals but ate low carb leftovers because that is pretty much all we have!😛😁 I did eat 1 homemade dinner roll. In any case, it’s all good. I got over 8 hours of sleep last night! Unheard of!

12/24 …..xxxxx ….. I didn’t get to weigh this morning. I woke up to the Septic company banging on my patio door. I quickly got dressed and grabbed my coffee. After days of a mysterious septic problem they found a massive root ball (the largest they had ever seen) just under the tank lid which was blocking anything from going in. After much work they cleared the problem and things are flowing again. Ah... the joys of learning a new house! I am trying to remain grateful for my blessings. I am thrilled (and lucky) they were willing to come out on Christmas Even from 25 miles away! Yesterday consisted of very well-planned meals but there were some cookies…… We’ll see what the scale holds in the morning. Will it whisper or will it shout? More baking today.

12/25 …..205.4 ….. Merry Christmas Everyone! Sharing is Caring so I want to share with everyone that I just concretely found out that making a small saucer of cookies your lunch and skipping all the calories in the normal lunch foods DOES NOT keep you from gaining weight. Up 0.4 in the last two days. It could have been worse, but it should have been better. Moving on…… Our family dinner and gift exchange will be on Sunday when everyone has the day off. I have enjoyed a special Christmas and gift opening morning quietly at home with my son this morning. To all of you..... I hope all people all over the world find health and peace and love today (including self-love) regardless of your location, orientations, nationalities or beliefs.

12/26 …..205.4 ….. Good meals. Bad snacks yesterday. Our family dinner is tomorrow.

12/27 …..203.2 ….. Whoosh! Christmas Dinner today with all my children and grandchildren. I don’t expect today’s weight to last over the next couple of days. However, I did try to do the math and have a good day yesterday to offset the day that is coming today.

12/28 …..205.2 ….. And back up it goes again after our major Christmas Dinner yesterday. I didn’t really think I ate very much in quantity and I kept the desserts down to practically nothing. However, there was 2 glasses of wine and a lot of very salty and starchy foods. Let’s hope the scale is kinder tomorrow. Lazy clean-up day today. Not much else.

12/29 …..206.0 ….. 4 glasses of wine later, I am left wondering what happened? Okay… I get it. Even with careful planning of meal leftovers and cookies snacks kept small, wine has calories and carbs. I’m just trying to not waste the leftovers. (This is what growing up poor does to you!)

12/30 …..206.0 ….. I poured out the rest of the wine, gave away the rest of the fudge and cookies. However, I ate one half of a Chinese Dinner a friend brought over. I will eat the other half today. Lots of sodium so I will push water.

12/31 …..207.0 ….. I ate the other half of the Chinese yesterday and didn’t push as much water as I should have. Other bad choices as well. Tonight I will partake in a small amount of alcohol so I will pre-plan the food.

01/01 …..207.8 ….. 207.8 Weakened and ate buckeye balls with milk that a family member brought over. The rest go to the grandchildren visiting today!

My goal is to Dance for 20 minutes per day to increase my calorie burn.
Dec 01 – Danced 20 minutes and my was it harder than last time!
Dec 02 – Danced my heart out for 20 minutes.
Dec 03 – No dancing. Paperwork and wrapping presents.
Dec 04 – Danced for 20 minutes to mostly classic rock.
Dec 05 – Danced for about 22 minutes to a nice mix of music.
Dec 06 – Lots of movement but no dancing due to workmen here all day and continued unpacking.
Dec 07 – More workers here and no dancing. However, if you count going up and down stairs for hours as exercise, I got in my fair share!
Dec 08 – Danced about 8 minutes. Better than nothing I suppose.
Dec 09 – 20 minutes of dancing and it knocked the wind out of me. Slower songs next time until I get used to it again!
Dec 10 – No dancing. All working around the house and sitting…sitting…sitting while shopping online. No stores in my rural area!
Dec 11 – Danced 20 minutes and even sang to the songs!
Dec 12 – No Dancing. Not enough movement. Online shopping again!
Dec 13 – Danced for about 14 minutes.
Dec 14 – I didn’t dance. A friend was over until very late last night who ran errands with me all day. Donuts & coffee did not help the scale.
Dec15 – Danced about 12 minutes. But I got a LOT of unpacking and orgainizing done. And I am all caught up on the wrapping until Amazon visits me tomorrow.
Dec 16 – No Dancing. Went on errands and then my friend came over.
    Dec 17 – 20 minutes of dancing.
Dec 18 – No dancing. All travel and car sitting yesterday until almost midnight!
Dec 19 – No dancing. Wrapped all day the presents from my Christmas haul.
Dec 20 – No dancing because a workman was here most of the day and evening. But I got in LOTS of housecleaning!
Dec 21 – Two very slow workmen here yesterday. Left at 9:30 pm No dancing but I tried to stay fairly active organizing.
    Dec 22 – 10 minutes.
Dec 23 – 20 minutes of dancing. A little ticked off to see some of my songs have been removed from the free alexa musical list!
Dec 24 – Nope. Company all day. It must be the holidays!
Dec 25 – 15 minutes of dancing madness.
Dec 26 – No Dancing. Just lots of cleaning and baking in preparation for our Family Christmas tomorrow.
Dec 27 – Christmas Dinner and party. No exercise.
Dec 28 – A rest day. Exhausted after all the work for the Crhistmas party yesterday. All day Jammies.
    Dec 29 – Danced 20 minutes.
    Dec 30 – I ate more than I exercised.
Dec 31 – Guests over. No chance for real exercise.

    Round 136

    Age: 39
    Height: 5’ 3”
    SW: 163
    CW: 133.6
    GW: 125

    GW for this round: 133.0

    Round 126 (1): 156 to 153.2 (-2.8 lbs)
    Round 127 (2): 153.2 to 150.4 (-2.8 lbs)
    Round 128 (3): 150.4 to 148.0 (-2.4 lbs)
    Round 129 (4): 148.0 to 146.0 (-2.0 lbs)
    Round 130 (5): 146.0 to 144.4 (-1.6 lbs)
    Round 131 (6): 144.4 to 139.6 (-4.8 lbs)
    Round 132 (7): 139.6 to 138.8 (-0.8 lbs)
    Round 133 (8): 138.8 to 137.0 (-1.8 lbs)
    Round 134 (9): 137.0 to 136.6 (-0.4 lbs)
    Round 135 (10): 136.6 to 133.6 (-3.0 lbs)

    Goals for this round:
    - Continue to do yoga nightly
    - Lose 1 lb - just 1!

12/23 - 133.6 - One more round for this year! I will be very happy to see 2020 go. My 5 year old is so excited for Christmas this year, and we are doing what we can to make it joyful for her. Today we’re making and decorating gingerbread people! Luckily, I’m not a huge fan of gingerbread, so less temptation for me to overindulge.

12/24 - 133.6 - And we’ll just keep holding here, I guess. I’d have liked a little bit more of a drop since I don’t plan to weigh-in or really track much tomorrow, but the number is what it is. Had a good day yesterday not eating the gingerbread cookies we made, and we went for a walk to look at lights after dinner. Our little guy got tired of the stroller 3/4ths of the way through, so he got piggyback rides the rest of the way. Good back and shoulder workout for me!

To all who celebrate it in this group, have a wonderful Christmas Eve tonight, and a very Merry Christmas tomorrow!

    12/25 -DNW - Merry Christmas!

12/26 - 134.6 - Ok, that could have been much worse. We’ll see where the scale settles out over the next few days. Yesterday was amazing - chaos, but amazing. I let myself enjoy all the treats without tracking and certainly didn’t have time for a morning workout, though I did at least close my Apple Fitness rings by taking the dog for a long walk last night. Today - back to focusing on healthy eating and portion control. I started with only half a cinnamon roll for breakfast instead of a whole one, and 40 minutes of HIIT and strength training.

12/27 - 133.8 - Coming back down, and it’s even TOM which tends to push up the scale for me. I’m still enjoying some of our Christmas treats though - cinnamon rolls in the morning and peppermint cheesecake at night, plus so many cookies in the house - so I’m not expecting to see any major drops before New Years. I’m trying to get into a mental space where maintaining is ok, since the peppermint cheesecake is definitely worth it 😂

12/28 - 134.2 - Got a good dance and strength workout in this morning - I’m loving Apple Fitness+. I’m almost back on track now with my meal prep and tracking: I’ve got breakfast (strawberry banana overnight oats and a hard boiled egg) and lunch (chicken and wild rice soup) all set for the week, plus homemade granola bars for my snack. I do have one more serving of peppermint cheesecake left tonight - and I will enjoy every crumb before returning my focus to maintaining a solid deficit the rest of this week.

12/29 - 134.2 - Was hoping the scale would go down a little, but it’s ok. I did a solid 45 minutes of Ring Fit this morning, and we took the kids for a walk too. I’m back to having one little treat each day, and I’ll be freezing some of the remaining cookies/treats to remove the temptation.

12/30 - 133.6 - OMG, I tried Beat Saber on our PS VR last night. SO MUCH FUN! But I am certainly feeling it in my bad knee today (tore it up playing soccer in high school) so I may need to find a brace if I want to play it again. Worked out this morning and will stick to my meal plan today!

12/31 - 133.2 - Ending the year on my lowest weight yet! I also dragged out my old scale and weighed myself on it (it had me at 165 when I started this journey back at the beginning of September; I replaced it since it only did half-pound increments) and it said I was 135 - so based on that I’m declaring that I’m 30 lbs down this year! 😂. Ordered out last night; got a shrimp teriyaki bowl with greens, brown rice, edamame and broccoli, so I don’t think the calories were super high but I’m sure the sodium was. Doing a fondue and some appetizers tonight - I plan to aim for maintenance again. Maybe I can convince my husband to play Beat Saber until midnight.

01/01 -DNW - I know, I know, I really should weigh on the last day of the round! But OMG, the kids slept in this morning (that NEVER happens) so I was able to sleep in... and then I cooked a fancy breakfast to kick off 2021...so I didn’t do my regular workout. I’m sure my weight is up after all the cheese and carbs last night... plus the wine! But I will assess the scale starting with the next round and move forward from there. 2020 was a tough year, but I made great progress on my weight loss goals and I know I can keep that up. Here’s to a better 2021 for all!

    Total Round Loss: 0.4 pounds

    0ovz3ahk1oga.png

Goal: At least 15 minutes of yoga before bed each night

I learned from this challenge that trying to fit another 15-20 minutes of something, even at the end of the day when the kids are in bed, really doesn’t work for me. It did help to do the stretching before bed, but it felt like a chore. So for the next challenge, I’m doing something I can easily integrate into my regular workouts - a 30 day beginner plank challenge. Goal will be able to plank for 2 minutes by the end of the month.

12/23 - 145 - Birthday and Christmas carbs have caught up with me. I'm starting my holiday break from work today and don't have to go back until January 4th. I'm putting in a grocery order for pick up and baking today to get ready for our family Christmas food exchange. We are driving to each other's homes on Friday to drop off our food and presents and then going back home to open them on video call.

12/23 195.2 This is hard week with junk food falling from the sky. I got to my desk to receive marshmallows, candy cane, and Lindt’s chocolate. My lack of sleep has made resistance difficult but I took a Tylenol PM last night and got a solid 7 hours!
12/24 195.9 No hugs. I am ok. I will get in some exercise today. I already did my 20 minute Zumba. I gave low calorie lunch planned today and then.
12/25 196.1 I did not sleep wind storm and I was afraid I could not hear the pitter patter of little feet but got in my morning Zumba before the kids woke up and destroyed my house. I did have a Christmas brunch that started at 10.00am with ribs and mac and cheese cupcakes. I did not log my food today or yesterday.
12/26 197.1 Very lazy today with more gift giving and eating with my sister who brought so much stuff that I can’t think on how to catch up with cleaning and organizing. I did not do a workout at all, not even my morning Zumba.
12/27 197.1 Much better today, did my morning workout and even a quick walk/jog.
    12/28 DNW
12/29 198.1 I only feel so bad about this because TOM is overdue by 3 days. So I am very bloated right now.
12/30 196.2 TOM is here but some drop. Today would mark first day in awhile that my calorie count is within my goal range and under 2000. My habits have not been very good for the holiday. Better than last year and the year before. My gain is not nearly as high as it has been. My low for the month of December was 193.2 and I am higher than that now but then I remember that January 1st 2020 I was 226.5 so 196.2 is not bad at all. I keep logging, I keep trying. 2020 might have been rough but I am looking at my successes. 30lbs gone...sorry for the rant.
12/31 195 Good way to end the year. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I needed to hear that. We'll see how tonight goes. A very quiet New Years considering the last 2 years I worked for Uber.
01/01 195.5 A good way to start 2021 and a good way to end the round moving forward. New year and new goals

    JGM10D Round 136

    3z6xf8oansed.jpeg

    Looking forward:
You are not stuck at home
    You are SAFE at home
One word can change your attitude
☠️One cough can change your life☠️

    😷Take care! Stay safe!😷 [/center]

December focus: improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
    Aims:
    2020 Focus:
    • Stabilise weight under 150
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

Never give up! Never give in!
    Recent Back Story:
    • 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
    • 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
    • 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Working on it. Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
    • That's a WIN in my book!
    • 2020
    • Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
    • (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

12/27 - 213.6 lbs *goals met (rest day)
    12/28 - 213.6 lbs *goals met
    12/29 - 209.9 lbs *goas met
12/30 - 211.0 lbs - moved my scales today, yesterdays was because the scale was on the edge of the tile!:sweat_smile:I though it was a re-start whoosh, but alas, no. Very happy to see the numbers starting to go down again though.
12/31 - 213.8 lbs - drank 2l of beer last night! Will have champagne tonight and then ... dry-uary! accountability is why I am here.
01/01 - 212.9 lbs - learned a lot just this last week - helped me set goals for the New Year. In that sense I really met my goals. I logged every day for the week. Meticulously weighing everything I ate. Drinking alcohol added a LOT of calories and has been effecting my overall health and well-being. Bring on Dry-uary!

    12/23 = 130.2
I ate 1,000 cookies today. Exercise=can I count chewing...? 10 calf raises, 5 squats, some stretching. Steps 3,963.

    12/24 = 131.6
Wrapped presents after work, cursing myself for leaving this task to the last minute..just like I do Every Single Year. And Every Year I swear I will not let this happen NEXT year...LOL Exercise = Run 2 miles. Steps 10,098.

    12/25 = 132.0
Ehhh...so much junk to eat around me bleurghhh >.< Weirdest Christmas ever...didn't go anywhere! Hope all peeps here were able to have a Good Day. Exercise=what?? it's Christmas!! : ) Steps 6,154.

    12/31= 133.2
I will just be happy with this weight since I'm not being very active--have a sinus headache so not feeling super ambitious. I'm working on setting goals for 2021 today, as is the rest of the world, I suppose:) I was lucky enough to get Dose #1 of the Pfizer vaccine last week--excited to maybe hopefully see the world getting back to some sort of "normal" in the coming months!!! (shot wasn't bad, had sore arm for a couple days, but nothing terrible)

    01/01 = 134.2
~ What is one thing you can accomplish today that would make this day a success? ~ (james clear, atomic habits)
