Getting back in the Groove

Started my fitness journey 2 years ago and was on track to accomplish my weight loss goals. An unexpected pregnancy in 2019, car accident and the craziness of 2020 set me back. I am trying to get back into the groove of things moving forward and hoping to find a few friends for support, encouragement and ideas on exercise & food. Feel free to add

Wow you have had quite the couple of years. Welcome!
What are your goals for 2021?0 -
My ultimate goal would be to lose 50 pounds, but realistically I am aiming for at least losing 35 pounds this year. I have a 135 pounds to lose, so I am trying to balance my focus a little. When looking at the long term weight loss, it can feel very daunting and unachievable. So, I plan on setting mini goals to achieve. That really helped the last time.1

What are the mini goals that you have? That's a great idea to break things down, it is daunting sometimes to look at the far off picture, seems like you'll never get there0

Sounds like you've a great long term plan and totally agree it can be overwhelming to try and tackle it all at once.
There's a great group here called Larger Losers for those with substantial amounts of weight lose, they're very active and have a number of threads for daily goal and non-scale achievements too.

My first set of mini goals is to:
1. complete my food diary every day for 2 weeks. Mainly to get back into the habit.
2. To drink recommended water amount every a day. This one is kinda easy as I have found drinking out of a straw cup helps meet the recommended water amount, plus more sometimes.
3. Aim to lose 15 pounds in 3 months. If I eat the recommended calorie amount, without excersize, then I should lose 12 pounds in 3 months. If I don't meet this one, I won't beat myself up, but know how to gauge the next set of goals.

Thanks! I will definitely check it out. I haven't really ever been involved with a group before, but the ones I had joined before weren't active either.0 -

I dip in and out of that one myself but there are always a couple of active threads.
I also run a weekly weigh in group that's been running since 2017, it's not extremely chatty but we do have a weekly thread for weigh ins with plenty of regular members and a monthly progress report, which can be helpful with seeing the bigger picture when the scale doesn't always show on a week-to-week basis much progress.
