Something I’ve been mulling over.. The reason we hold the right to protest in this country in such high regard is because protests have transformed our laws over the years. Protests have brought about positive and necessary changes by people whose individual voices were otherwise given no audience.

There is power in a united voice, and there’s danger in ignoring it. That voice belies deeply held viewpoints and emotional conviction that shouldn’t merely be written off just because you don’t understand them at the outset.

I figure the worst thing you can do to a group of people who are exercising their right to protest is to slap a label on them and refuse to hear their cry.

I’d like to think I’m a reasonable and rational person but I have my kneejerk reactions. I want to do better and meet people halfway when I don’t understand their viewpoint.
If this sounds like a defense of any one group or a statement of my political views, you should know I felt this same way in May and through the summer too

These are thoughts and questions I had in my head too...what happened is awful...but in history this is how change was forced to take place...so im conflicted in how I feel.

Some how 2020 snuck back in to 2021.

I am becoming quite the sheabuttersloot. I have a sheabutter shampoo, a sheabutter conditioner and now a sheabutter body lotion. The hell!

soooo... doc says I have a mild hiatal hernia and inflammation of the stomach in the same area. The two don't play well together, but neither of them are really anything to be concerned about. I'm getting referred to a specialist to help me talk about the flare ups I have that cause pain / nausea / illness. I know the introduction of the new protein powder didn't help, so that's been stopped.

I told her I lift heavy (for me) weights, and she didn't tell me to stop... but I will slow my progression a bit so that I am relying on the targeted muscle groups instead of a full body press. That means no attempts at 1rm PRs, or crazy weight progressions, but that's ok.

Google tells me to not even lift a kettlebell. Yeah, um, sorry. That's not happening. Not until the doc says so.

Both sound annoying but manageable...? 🤷🏿‍♀️

Am happy it's nothing more serious yet can understand you wanna get back to lifting too 🤗

Well, it addresses the nausea and upper abdominal pain. and it looks like I can manage it with an adjusted diet (and maybe adjusted lifting goals).

I still have one more test to get through - the lower abdominal CT for a separate issue. That's in 11 days. If that is clear, then I can stop worrying. :)

    Hoping for clear! *crossing fingers*

The sheer amount of russian porn accounts on MFP recently is disturbing. Why do people just blindly accept FRs?

I rarely do. It's usually got to be someone who's a common friend, or super awesome in the forums (aka respectful and interactive).

Why are they here in the first place? I'm assuming those are the ones that usually have Cyrillic in their descriptors and nothing else filled out, no profile pic, right?

I've been getting an influx of requests from accounts like that since Nov. and I can't figure out why.

 I'm sure they do, but I'm not going to venture far enough to find them. If I want that, though... those bots have competition on MFP. After all, here is where we go to find our work husbands/wives, right? :joy:

They definitely have PFPs and they are desperate for you to rate their blog.

Hmm, I must just be getting phishing accounts here, then. Definitely haven't seen any accounts asking me to rate "blogs" or that have racy pfp.
