While researching videos for Qi Gong practice, I came across this saying:
There are two mistakes along the way to Mastery:
Not starting it and not going all the way.
I thought the same applies to my pursuit of fitness - fitness being a type of mastery.
I've started, now I must go all the way.
I hope we can all achieve mastery of our fitness.

Jan 6nd 211.6 lbs - I've had a enough NSVs this week not to worry about this "gain"
Jan 13th 212.1 lbs - it seems I am going in the wrong direction? I think in the long term, the loss will
Are you weighing food? I find that I'm incredibly inaccurate at eyeballing and eat significantly more if I'm not making sure my tracking is accurate.
Yes, I'm weighting food. But if I have pizza, beer and wine the night before I weigh in - I always see it on the scales. It's not about my diary - it's about my intake.3 -

Spot on, Mark (can I call you Sam?). I've never smoked, but I can relate. Replace "Giving up smoking" with "Starting a diet" and that's me all over. Well, maybe not "thousands", but enough. I'm on Day 193 this time around!
Afterthought: I just decided to start my diet every morning, for the rest of my life. Whatever happened yesterday no longer matters; it's what happens today that matters.7 -
May I invite myself to join your group?
Just started MFP on Monday January 10/21 with the goal of losing 20lbs.
But I'm having a hard time imagining or believing I can lose the weight?
I have never really tried before🤔
I have developed a binge eating "thing" with sweets over the past 10 yrs(can't believe I have let it go on this long!) and am now at least 20-25lbs overweight & feeling awful.
Heartburn, arthritis and feeling very bad about myself.
Stats:
I'm 54(female)in Feb
5'5"
162lbs on Jan 10/21
Thanks🙂13 -
NSV!!! I was able to button up the pair of ski pants that a month ago I couldn’t even pull up all the way!! They were tight... oh boy were they tight... but they were on! Hope this time next year I can actually wear them without fear of splitting the rear end 🤣10

Good grief! Weight loss is like watching a pot of water waiting for it to boil. Drawing from all the patience and grace I have and grateful to be headed in the right direction.

So, feeling a bit inspired this morning by the # on the scale - though I know not to get too hung up on that - I appear to be down 2lbs, despite having a big pig out on Friday & Saturday.
Maybe this will work!!!🤔🙏

I'm hoping this next week my period passes quickly and I'm able to get back to cutting down!7 -

Hello, hope its not too late to join in. I gained weight due to the pandemic. I started going back to my healthier choices with eating on January 1st. January 17th I incorporated walking on a treadmill for a minimum of 30 minutes. I will do this daily for awhile, then will do 5 days a week. I have only weighed myself on Friday mornings. My starting weight was 165, I have lost 2 pounds. Yay! I am 5'1, was 165, goal weight 120. Note: I want 120 so I can have the 5 extra pounds for fluctuation between 120-125. Well, good luck to you all and stay encouraged.13

"Every end is a new beginning." ~ Proverb ~
The "end" of my 2 days of stuffing myself silly ~ and now on to the "new beginning" and the return to healthier habits. When I struggle it means that I am still fighting ~ not giving up. I have had more days of healthy eating than I have of returning to unhealthy habits, so that is a win as far as I am concerned.
Happy week to all of my fellow fighters!!!!9 -
I hope I don't gain a bunch. I just got back from a 2 hour, nine mile hike and started eating eating eating: yogurt, blueberries, high protein cereal, milk, lettuce, bell pepper, grapes. Mostly healthy, I think. It's hard to know when to stop when I do something like this. Guess I'll weigh myself tomorrow and find out.8
