Hello inspirational humans
I'm Tim, 36, from Melbourne, found this site today it's amazing, love the ability to track food and exercise.
It's also great to see so many people here committed to their health and to supporting each other, it's really motivating me to get in my 8000 steps tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day and the next, hopefully some swimming too

Count for what?
Middle age? I know it's really cool and groovy to be middle age (see all those modern words I used?) Join us if you like. But I kind of think if you're young enough to still have to show your ID to buy beer.... not quite middle age. But maybe I'm just old and grumpy.
HEY!
You kids get AWAY from there!5 -
Hurrah, end of January and managed to hit my target of 18 stone. 10lbs gone in the month, well chuffed. Now to start on February and see if I can keep the momentum up, 28 days to get to 17st 8lb or less. I think that is an acceptable level of loss.4

Hey all, I'm 51, looking for inspiration and motivation. I've had 4 operations on my knee and 2 on my spine over the past 10 years. As a result, I've gone from fit at 40 to overweight at 50. I only weighed this much once before after I had my daughter at 31, and lost the weight with swimming and diet. I'm due to finally have a knee replacement, which I want to be a success as it is a huge operation, and the key is to be as light and strong as possible for the surgery. I've recently gotten back into the pool, and am swimming again, building up my strength doing laps of freestyle (can't do breaststroke as it hurts the knee). It's a horrible feeling when you realise little things, like picking something off the floor is a major effort, especially having been very fit at 40. I also have psoriatic arthritis which is an autoimmune condition, related to psoriasis, which I only get a teensy bit, but my joints are affected. There is a link between being overweight and having inflammation, so I am working to get the weight right down.8
