The filling is a keeper, for sure, I may try a different recipe for the pastry another time, because I’m not 100% convinced it’s right.

Midnight snack: tuna w/PK Chipotle Lime mayo and capers. Plus celery sticks. My cat gets to share. She drinks the tuna water and gets some tuna bits. She somehow knows the sound of the tuna can (as opposed to the tomato paste can for example) and comes running in the kitchen whenever I open one.

When someone disagrees on this thread I wonder what they mean!
Are they saying they don’t believe that’s what you ate? Or saying they wouldn’t eat that meal? The former is the only one that makes sense with the thread title ‘What do your meals look like?’ 🤷♀️

I take it to mean that they don't like that meal or don't like the picture of it or don't like one or more of the ingredients. Shrug. Doesn't bother me in the least. Everyone has their own tastes in food.6 -

Frankly, I wish they'd get rid of the disagree button. It serves no purpose and brings nothing but negativity. This is my favorite thread on mfp so I appreciate everyone's photos. It's easy to get in a rut with cooking the same things so I like to see what other people are eating so I can remind myself to try new dishes to keep the rotation varied.
@CanyonGeek I think the no calorie Shirataki noodles are fine. I've only had them once but have a pack in the fridge. I was thinking they'd work better with non-tomato sauces like carbonara, pesto, etc. But your version looks appetizing to me.5 -
So I made something amazing, entirely by accident. A box of chickpea pasta, jar of marinara, 1/2 bag of chopped frozen spinach, chopped pre-cooked sausages, and dollops of ricotta with a little seasoning all baked. This is all that remains. Husband and toddler both had seconds, and my sister is asking for the recipe.4 -
@o0Firekeeper0o - how would you describe the chickpea pasta? A few of my friends said they didn't like it at all.0 -
Since we had to go to Costco after my partner got home from work we decided to pick up a rack of their already cooked dry rub ribs. Made black rice and a purple cabbage slaw to go with. Their ribs are not too bad. Tender and moist but too much salt for my taste.

@PAPYRUS3 The best way I can describe it is a lot like whole wheat pasta, if you’ve ever had that. The texture is more break-apart than regular pasta and has more of a beany, grain-y flavor. It’s not bad at all; I like it, but it’s not my first choice for gf pasta. Rice pasta in my opinion is the closest thing you will get to the ‘real’ stuff while still being gluten free. I just used chickpea pasta because we had a box in the cupboard we needed to use up0

Not @LazyBlondeChef obviously but in my experience, black rice kind of reminds me of a cross between wild and brown rice, if that helps at all. It depends on brand and type of course but I think it’s more like those types than like white rice!1 -

@Peach1948 The black rice has a slight nutty flavor. We really like it. I cook it in a tiny Dash rice cooker using the proportion specified for long grain brown rice (1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water) and it is always perfectly done with nicely separated grains and not gummy.
I would agree with @o0Firekeeper0o in that it is closer to wild rice than brown or white rice. I use Hinode brand.2 -

Thanks - this texture is something I'd actually really like - I love ww pasta and love that 'grainy' toothsome thing. Something to try one day:)1 -
Salad with homemade pickled carrots, cucumbers, mixed greens, raisins, Kalamata olives, Ken’s light Caesar dressing, topped with black forest ham and peanuts. A slice of espresso banana bread for dessert.

I slow cooked a leg of lamb today. I then warmed up a portion of the lamb with cumin, coriander, salt, pepper and sautéed onions (rings) to make a taco salad which also included romaine, tomato, avocado, sharp cheddar cheese, salsa & sour cream. Plus a serving of Beanitos black bean tortilla chips.

Lately have been eating toasted grain salads for lunch similar to the recipes at the bottom of this article. This one was toasted quinoa, rucola, shallots, tomato, olives and feta.

Breakfast time!
We took a lil drive to Vermont and came back with cheese and farmhouse sausage...
Made a vegetable frittata and added in some Vermont pimento cheddar and grilled the smoked sausage..

Copycat air fryer KFC from the Chicago Tribune recipe, sauteed spinach, tomato salad, smashed garlic potatoes also cooked in the air fryer under the chicken.
