🌹Happy February, ladies!
🌹How has the first month of the new year treated you? How have you treated yourself? What resolutions have you stuck to and which have you set aside?
🌹What good things have happened to you so far this 2021? And is there anything that you're worried will happen this February?
❤️ If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM! you're one of us.
❤️ In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
❤️ All women are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
❤️ Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
🌹Let's keep fighting the good fight this February!🌹

Yeah a new month!
I love a fresh start
Going to keep with my slow and steady and go for 5 pound loss this February. 50 pound goal for the year.
I'm sticking with low carb, no alcohol, sugar, flour this month
Giving myself one cheat day on Feb 28 following final monthly weigh in
Week 1 Feb 7
week 2 Feb 14
week 3 Feb 21
week 4 Feb 28
5.6/50 lbs.
it's a short month and a dark and cold one here. walking outside will help get some sun on my face and some fresh air in my lungs. On nicer days I'll try extra hard to do it. good luck to everyone12 -
Thank you Raven for creating this months group.
January was a great month, bit rocky at times but I made it through 12.5lbs lighter. I restarted my journey on the 1st January after losing 20lbs last year and regaining that plus more.
I started the year off a bit restrictive with my diet and it wasn’t until I saw a post on fb saying that they found they’d binge more if caloric intake was too low so they added more calories to allow for some indulgence but still be able to lose weight. I did this my final week of January and I’m hoping to continue this trend as I need this to be not only a weight loss journey but a lifestyle change.

So for those of you that read my post in January about strength training. I have learned more from you ladies than I ever imagined and have gained support 💜 If anyone is looking looking for support and accountability don't hesitate to friend request me and reach out!
The month of January taught me to put in the work and trust the process. Just because the scale doesn't move doesn't mean you aren't getting healthier and losing inches! Converting fat to muscle is a good healthy thing.
My February goals are to finish up my beachbpdy Liift4 program, keep being conscious of the foods that go into my body, and continue to push to get my gallon of water in a day!

Hi! I'm new here. With the pandemic going on, I'm glad to find a positive place to connect about fitness and health. January was a great month workout-wise, but my nutrition faltered. I lost 1 lb. A bit disappointing, but I was still happy because I haven't been this weight for a couple years! This month I'm working to lose 12 lbs. To switch things up working out at home, I bought a body bar and step platform. Nutritionally, I'm cutting out the snacking and that horribly tempting DoorDash app!

I decided to retool my goals a bit. I think I'll still want to keep going when I hit 160, which was my "UGW," but that's very much uncharted territory for me - the smallest I've ever been as an adult was about 169. I'm fairly confident I can get below 200 this year, though, so I think that's what I'm going to focus on. I'm part of the 52 lbs in 52 weeks challenge, so if I started at 248 on 1/1, minus 52 lbs is 196. I've been losing at about a pound per week so this feels very doable.
I did change up my workouts this month - for the last 10 weeks I've been using trainer-led workout videos, but I wanted to try something different for February. So, I found a 28-Day Beginner Fitness Challenge from Runtastic/Adidas. The plan also has built-in rest days, and I have a 10-minute beginner yoga routine to do on those days. I might also bust out the Ring Fit Adventure on weekends - it is a lot of fun, 10/10 would recommend. My sticker chart already has its first sticker on it.5 -
I've decided to accept that my body wants to pretty much stay at the weight it's at, given that I'm not able to add in working out. I'm just going to work on staying under 1500 as that's a comfortable calorie allotment for me, and I know once I feel safe going to the gym that I'll go religiously. I just don't feel safe right now, and I have to respect that. I do feel much better day to day, and I've lost 50 pounds which is a victory in anyone's books. If I need to just ride a plateau for a bit what with all the stress in the world and in my life right now, that's okay.14

CHECK-IN
Start 3/16/2020: 230.7 lbs (104.9 kgs)
12/21/2020: 148.94 lbs (67.7 kgs)
1/11/2021: 155.1 lbs (70.5 kgs)
1/18/2021: 144.98 lbs (65.9 kgs)
1/25/2021: 144.54 lbs (65.7 kgs)
2/1/2021: 144.32 lbs {65.6 kgs}
I've worked hard to keep the weight going down, one big whoosh and then pretty much the same for 2 weeks. Thats ok, the trend is downward. The past two weeks I've been running 5 km x4 in the week, and walking on the other days, with a bit of strength (not enough, need to get into a better habit with that. I'm working from home now as our schools are only opening on 15th Feb (been closed since NOV!!!!) But I'm now in a strict routine, and very mindful of what I need to do. Last year I was great on my health lifestyle but my work suffered from lack of routine and discipline, so I want to apply the same principles I did to health to my business, structure, discipline and consistency. Oh the our first lot of vaccines arrived on our shores today, YAY!! I will be way down the list, but happy for the health workers who will be getting it first! Don't you feel like at least there is a light at the end of this covid tunnel!!
@RavenStCloud Thanks for the post, yes lets keep on fighting!!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Sounds like you are in a good headspace to get through the plateau!! 50 lbs is a huge victory!!
@goal06082021 I'm going to look up your fitness challenge you are doing. On the recommendation of iloveeggnogg I followed the couch to 5km programme from a podcast, I did the British NHS one, from having never run in about 20 years, to running 4 x a week now, its been 5 months and I'm starting to think of myself as a runner!!
@Chosengoddess This is a great group, I've been following it and participating since March 2020, I've grown as a person...but also lost a lot of weight and I really believe it helped to Check in and share and follow advice!
@mumof6sv You had a great Jan loss!! Good luck with Feb!!
@holdthefries You have great goals for Feb, and of course you hav 28th to look forward to!! Hopefully you will fit in some great walks on those cold days!!
@amysg101 I think its a good idea to put your mind to being strict and in a routine when you start out on your healthy regime, otherwise its just too easy to cheat!
@SammyKlingler You are so right, just trust the process! Especially if you are following your routine and plan, I find I have one whoosh in a month and just hold on the rest of the month, but I try follow a consistent daily plan of eating and kj counting and exercise.

This is my first time here. Starting weight is 260 one year ago today. This is the highest I ever weighed. My daughter turned one year old today and I am still 258-260 (gained the small amount of weight I lost after birth). I struggled in January. But we did do one cool thing! I bought my first piece of experience equipment! It is a bike that turns into an elliptical. I want to use it every day.6

Hi everyone!
I was fairly steady on this thread throughout 2020. Gained some weight back in the past month and need to restart the weight loss to finally get under 200 this year! I'm going to take the slow and steady approach and aim to lose about a pound a week for now.
Height: 5'7"
Current Weight: 239.3
Feb Goal: 235
End of Year Goal: 190

Look forward to getting back on track and keeping up with this thread again!3 -

Well today starts a new month.
For month of January I honestly struggled getting my head in the game, and then was sick for almost 2 weeks.
I lost only 3lbs for the month, but at least wasn't a gain.
Jan 01/21 265 lbs
Feb 01/21 262 lbs
My goals this month is
Limiting carb intake- no potatoes, pasta, occasionally brown rice.
No refined sugars- no sweets, cookies etc
No alcohol- except perhaps on a Saturday evening, then will be something very low in calories and carbs.
Start getting exercise at least 4 days a week. Also get out walking on warmer(non icy days)
Making sure get at least 10 glasses of water in a day.
If anyone wants to add me as a friend would sure like that.
Angie

This group always feels like a safe space. I’ve been reading up and some of the names familiar from previous times have made wonderful progress. Each and every one of you is amazing.
I started MFP back in...’18? I think? and have been a fickle user ever since. Every so often I’ll buckle up and finish a 3 month spurt consistently but mine has been a meandering journey to overall fitness and wellness. The last couple of years, life has been boxing me and winning.
Starting weight: 215
Current weight: 185
Goal weight: 145 and then I’ll see
I lose my BeachBody subscription in April so am going all in on it. Finished a 30 day kickboxing plan, a 3 week yoga retreat, and Liift4. Started BodyBeast today. I typically warm up with a 4-5 mile run and then try to build up my workout time. Goal is to get 2.5 hrs dedicated training time a day or more, 6 days a week.
Early morning workouts are the shreds of sanity I’m clawing to hold onto right now. Thanks, all, for letting me join.8 -
I love seeing how hard everyone is working. I am doing a 6 week fitness challenge at boot camp to kick start my journey to a lighter me!

Hi all! I am also starting anew, after being AWOL for the last 6 or 7 months. I found it easy to eat carefully and exercise during quarantine, but when I returned to the workplace in person, things fell apart. Anyhow, I am still fighting the fight.
As before, my immediate purpose is to reduce knee pain. I have found the magic number, weight-wise, where I cannot tolerate it (315) and have also found that sugar intake exacerbates the pain and inflammation. I've been doing a little armchair research into nutrition and I'm leaning toward weaning myself from meat and dairy. My head is on board, but the rest of me is taking a little longer!
One lady I follow makes it a policy to only weigh once a month - three consecutive days, and then take the average. I think I'm going to adopt that policy. Today, being the first, is a good place to start. I'll post my average Wednesday and go from there.6 -

My main goal for February is to get under 250, so at least a 5 pound loss. I did almost twice that in January, so I feel pretty good about my goal as long as I stick to my diet.
I also need to start exercising more. I made that goal last month too but more or less failed, so going to work at it more this month.6 -

My goals for January were pretty small; I just wanted to get back in the groove of logging everything. I was successful in that, I didn’t miss a day and I stayed within my calorie allowance. I found that part quite easy for me.
I didn’t really do any exercise other than my normal activity; life is still difficult with everything going on. I’m just so mentally and physically exhausted when I get home from work that I’m trying not to be too hard on myself about that. I did do some dancing in the kitchen, but I got short of breath from that, which surprised me...not sure if it’s from my overall lack of exercise, having had Covid, or both. I didn’t have that problem before when I did this and I have had some other minor lingering issues from it.
I haven’t had any problem with temptations or cravings this month. I’ve been using Skinnytaste for most of my cooking and we’ve tried quite a few new dishes this month that were very delicious and we’ve been eating much healthier! It’s been a struggle though spending so much more time planning meals and cooking vs just ordering out. But we’ve had each of our 2 teens cook one night a week to help out...and they seemed to be quite pleased when we enjoyed their dishes.
My goals this month...
❤️ Start doing yoga again once/wk. Easy, and I’m hoping it will help with stress relief and build my stamina back up so I can do more active things come spring.
❤️ Lose at least 8 lbs

New here... Kind of.... I’m a frequent quitter but going to give it another go at it. I usually don’t post so hoping some accountability will help.
I’m recovering from bunion surgery so my steps are limited to about 3-4k. I work at home so my depression has been running rabid. Here’s to getting out of this funk!
My goal is to walk 3 times a week, drink 60 oz water per day.

Still it's all been going in the right direction overall so I'm expecting to be back there in no time. Some of you on last month's thread may remember I mentioned a job interview last week, I've been told I should know more by end of day tomorrow. Hoping I have good news to share!
Let's smash it this month8 -
Thanks@RavenStCloud for continuing the thread and making these fresh starts feel so good.
I turn 50 in March and that's my big motivator right now (still finding it so hard to believe that I will now have celebrated TWO birthdays in quarantine ). So much for the Italy trip we had planned. Right now I'm just grateful to be healthy and that vaccinations have started.
In the meantime, I'd really like to make progress with my goals, which have been admittedly erratic over the past 6-8 months.

I moved my business across the country in mid-Jan and am in the process of setting up the new space outside of Austin, TX. I'll reopen my shop on March 1 and before I do that I'm taking the month of February to deal with some admin / back end stuff that I never really tackled and that have been a real detriment to my business for several years now. It makes sense to apply that "building blocks" approach to weight loss too. Routine, consistency, focusing on diligently building up good systems that ultimately help me in the end. That's my focus this month.

One thing that's helped me during this extended quarantine is YouTube. Popsugar Fitness, Self, Walk at Home, Body Project, and Allblanc are all great channels with free instructor-led workouts at various levels and intensities. You can do cardio, bodyweight, or free weight workouts.4
