What can you not let go of?

2 weeks ago my girlfriend broke up with me...with hardly a reason why. We were together almost a year. I still feel like I need closure to move on. We go to the same church too....
I'm sorry that happened to you 💔 Sometimes closure isn't a option, you just need to permit yourself to move on. It does get better. I do hope you can get what you need to have closure but be gentle with yourself.3 -

For the longest time I’d held on to anger at certain ppl - I’m finally starting to let that go though - sometimes i still cling to it but I think I’ve almost got over it - I may even offer those ppl a ride if it was raining outside - well maybe not - but maybe
this and this and i can't let go of the 70's. really the best decade. *90's were good also - i do admit*4 -
@Kashmir, because of all you went through your heart and empathy must've grown 10x because if I had to choose a caregiver for anyone, it'd be you. There are no right/wrong/good/bad decisions to make at times like those.
@Miss_Chiev0us, that's really sad friends walked away and let you down when you needed them most. I have a feeling they're living with guilt.2 -

I bought it at CVS for cheap and it makes a weird noise and smells like its about to explode but I feel like it still has a few days of life so I'm not giving up on it yet. I also have a handmixer from 14 years ago. It still works so I'm not getting rid of that any time soon. Basically if it still works, imma keep using it no matter how old it is 😅
That's my sister to a T. She still uses a hand mixer her Mother-in-law gave her for her wedding, 54 years ago.1 -
My size 6 Levis. I'm not sure why except for maybe some of the wonderful memories I have from that time.3

I have a hard time letting go of:
1. Like @_sw33tp3a_11, my ancient hair dryer (25yrs). It really needs to be recycled at this point. I also have a curling iron that I've had for about 30yrs which still works perfectly fine except that I curl my hair maybe twice a year.
2. Old clothes that don't fit in one way or another. From fat clothes to skinny clothes to clothes that otherwise fit except for my arms or shoulders to shoes that I have worn the heels beyond repair.
3.Things that people say or did that changed the way that I see or know them. Like if they made a racist or sexist remark or belittled someone less fortunate.
4. I also have a very hard time forgiving people for grievous acts. ex: I haven't spoken directly to my sister in two years because of something she said/did to my kids.

If they do... I hope they let go of the guilt because living with that isn't something I wish on them. The past is the past, I live in the present. I was really bothered by it at first but I no longer let it weigh heavy on my heart. They surely have a reason for it because I don't understand how someone could just do that to a person they care about, they choose to not talk to me about it so I will not try to understand anymore. I choose to be positive and only surround myself with positivity also. I've ran into one a few weeks ago, I spoke to her and i'll continue to speak to her. One thing about hard times... you really see who your true friends are. Same thing when I stopped drinking8 -
Tough one to actually say (type) out loud. But I have the hardest time letting go of the feelings I had when my ex cheated. That worthless feeling that someone else is "better" than I am. I've let it sabotage many relationships since. Even friendships. It kind of flipped that "I'll never be enough" switch in my brain.14

Photographs, pictures and cards I've collected over the years, I still have a large trunk filled with them. I used to have a huge collection of books too, that I didn't want to release, but I was able to pair it down and gave boxes and boxes of books to the Goodwill and the day shelter for the homeless.5

Well, I hope you are able to see how amazing you are again one day and that what happened to you has nothing to do with you and the person you are. *kitten* things happen to good people. I only know you online and all I've seen from you is that you are kind, very friendly, funny, beautiful and those are just a few. I am sure I am not the only one who thinks that.oh and that buttttt....10 -
let's see.... I can't part with old albums or CDs, but then again.... why should I ?

These for me as well. Once you've been blacklisted, it's near impossible to get back on my good side.4 -

Can I have your led zeppelin cds? 😏
Which copies?
I have digital masters & remastered vinyl, plus some original vinyl (which sounds pretty amazing)
c'mon over; we'll give them a spin.0 -
My alarm clock. It hasn't let me down one single time since 1983.
Should I go ahead and tell the boss that I'll be late tommorow? 🤔3 -

I bought 2 boxes of fish sticks the other day at Trader Joe's and as the clerk was scanning them he looked up at me and said "Kids?"

Old purses. I always just stuff the old one away like I’m going to use it ever again or actually clean it out. 😅
I’m actually doing something new atm where I’ve bought the new purse but it’s the one hanging out in my closet while I stroll around with my worn out purse.3 -

I do exactly this 😂1 -

In a few years you'll appreciate me, I promise. Mommy hearts are always in the right place, regardless if you can't see it right now.
I have saved all my bday, anniversary, christmas... all the cards I get from my husband or kiddo. I date them on the back and I keep them in a keepsake box. I don't know why I do this but I always have. And I have tons of these boxes all over the place with all kinds of stuff in them. I have one that has all of the linen handkerchiefs and milk glass salt cellars I inherited from my grandmother. Some have things that my daughter made for me when she was a kid like macaroni necklaces and hand print pics. There is one that has my hospital bracelets and ultrasound pics of my babies that didn't make it. I just cannot let go of this stuff.4 -
I got kicked off a roller coaster for being too big when I was in high school. That memory is embedded in my mind for some reason. It'll randomly pop up like, hey you remember when you really wanted to do that ride and you had to exit a full roller coaster cause you were too big and went and cried in the gift shop by the cowboy hats? High School was wild.7
