Ah hah! You've helped me figure out something.
Not that I would ever say this to his face, but...the jacket body is too long. Mr. Johnson (heh) was the subject of some of the earliest posts in the thread. Being a huge guy, suiting is a real challenge. Everything with him has been largely tailored well, but something seemed off despite it. Your picture shows it, it's the length of the body of the jacket (not the sleeves) that is very classic length (longer than most modern jackets). It isn't wrong, it's just longer than looks proportionally correct on him. Shorten it by an inch, inch and a half, and it would be dead on.
Not that this quenches the thirst for him.
All of the rest of it is perfect.6 -

Same thing happening here. Lovely suit, nice big pattern on a big guy, massive lapels on a muscular frame. That's all very good. Jacket just a couple of inches too long and the break of fabric at the ankles is a bit too heavy.0 -

I am actually into the brown with black suits look right now too. I feel you on the shoes 😂 although, I always tend to lean towards the same pairs. I have some that are insanely priced, I used to rationalize the cost when I worked in my actual office, now that I’m home 24/7 I look at them like 😤😢🤣💸3 -
