I put my old gardening jacket on today, first time since last year. It's loose and zips up easily, it used to be really tight.15

I stepped on the scale WITH my 9-year-old today and we TOGETHER weighed less than I did one year ago.38

Today is my birthday and rather than focusing on food (and dessert) I went on 2 walks for a total 7 miles! I had a fun day and I stayed within my calorie budget! (For me, it is a huge NSV because I would normally use my birthday as an excuse to spend all day treating myself with food.)29

Ran 5 miles yesterday in just over 45 minutes.17

Fresh one from last night - I HAVE A LAP! Not only that, but it's a functioning lap that can hold a large cat! Before this my belly, even though it had flattened, flowed down onto said lap enough to make sitting on my somewhat interesting. Now the belly is still there but it has receded enough that most of my legs are available for cat use, even in my normal completely upright sitting position.

Today was get in the 10k hike just ahead of the crappy freezing rain that just started as we left for home. Winning.13

zipping up my favorite jeans without holding my breath or sucking in my tummy!!20

I did a 20.85km (nearly 13 miles) hike through hilly terrain yesterday. I haven't done a long hike like that in many years.
To top it off I did the hike in 3h45, with barely any breaks. That's an average speed of just over 5.5kph/3.4mph. I might have pushed myself a bit too much, quite sore today 🤪18 -
Someone a bit younger than me told me my body was "goals" (what?) and someone even younger said something about herself not being athletic at all in reference to that. I assured her I have never been athletic, but just have been working hard (but smart) for a LONG time.19

I’m finding my morning and afternoon commuting walks easier and faster.17

2021————————————————2020
My skin looks so much better than it did last year34 -
Mine is a double NSV today: working out this morning, I realised I can put the palms of my hands comfortably on the floor in front of me when I have straight legs (even when wearing my houseshoes which add a good cm to my leg mength). Then my 8kg dumbbells arrived and I carried the parcel up two flights of stairs without even thinking about it! Finally, not strictly mine, but my husband came home from work and didn't just say he was going on the rowing machine but actually did it!23

I attended a funeral in mid December 2020 and was barely able to fit into my black suit. I wasn't able to button up the pants (trousers) and had to hope my zipper and belt would keep them up because I didn't have anything else to wear. That terrible experience was one motivating factor to start tracking again.
Today I attended another funeral and was able to not only button up the pants (trousers) but sit comfortably through the long meeting. I've still got more to lose but today I'm glad my black suit fits again so I don't have to be embarrassed!33 -
Stressful days have me longing for a hard bike ride and not a glass of wine.29

I hadn't run for almost two months (lockdown, closed gyms, rain...) even though I have been doing some light exercises at home.
Today I decided it was time to put my sneakers back on. I picked a route that would allow me to walk enough for a warm-up, and then run for almost 2 kms with no intersections and similar obstacles. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to run the entire route, so I definitely took it easy (I'm normally a slow runner, but I made sure to go even slower than usual, just in case). Well, I completed it in 16 minutes and it wasn't as hard as I anticipated after such a long hiatus! I hope I can shave off a couple of minutes in the upcoming weeks.20 -
A couple months I started C210K and quit at Week 5. Life has calmed down a little bit, so this week I decided to restart on Week 2. Today I hopped on the treadmill to run Week 2 Day 2, but the app defaulted to Week 5 instead. When I realized what had happened, I decided to try to finish the run...and I did!
I’ll go back to Week 4 for my next run (so my body has more time to adjust), but it felt good to know I am capable of more if I just push myself.

My Garmin measures my VO2 (lung capacity) it says it is 45 which is excellent, top 15% for my age and the fitness of a 20 year old. ;-)20

Sharing clothes with my daughter! But I think this is going to be a blessing and a curse! 😂15

So I got my personalized grocery coupons today - and they have finally quit trying to sell me junk food. It was all things like vegetables and eggs and tea and vitamins and protein bars. The only even remotely junky thing was the brand of chocolate my spouse likes. Actually I think it's been going on for a while now but this is the first time I've noticed!
Also my boykitten is my workout partner. I was doing some push ups on my weight bench - still can't quite do a real one on the floor - and he put his 15 pound self on my shoulders. So I managed 3 more with him on me.20 -
My favorite sweatpants are so big, I have to hike them up and tie the drawstring really tightly or the crotch is at my knees. And when I do hike them up they feel fine but I am beginning to look lost in them. It made me laugh--and that was my NSV.21

I broke 7000 steps today - a new personal best.36

Man, I love coming here and reading these. This is pure motivation to me.20

I was able to do 30 pushups this morning.. like real pushups... not on my knees and not on an incline!28

Just passed 700km's on the exercise bike, next target 1000Km's by the end of the month
Also waist below 40 for the first time in many years, so still heading in the right direction17 -
Fitting into size 12 jeans!!! (started out in size 22 a year ago). So surreal!38
-
I bought leggings to serve as my spring/summer wardrobe.
I bought the small/medium size instead of the L/xl ones.
...they fit.
I haven't NOT worn a size large pants in at least 15 years, probably more like 20.21 -
The following is a win for me on so many levels:
When last I stepped into a gym I could barely do 5 minutes on an elliptical. Today I did 15 minutes with energy to spare afterwards, and this was having just completed an hour of moderate intensity weight training. Then I went grocery shopping. And I still have energy to spare! I just barely broke a sweat and my breathing wasn't all that heavy, even.
So - I'm happy because my stamina has improved a lot, but I'm also happy because that stamina increase has been entirely due exercise done in my home. No help from trainers or gym equipment or anything like that. I know part of it is because I am carrying around so much less weight, but part is because I've been able to strength train on my own. Lastly, this is a Non Scale Victory because it means that nobody was making me do this, I did it for myself. MFP and my friends here were a big help but it's still huge because I'm not used to being able to stick to something for this long.27 -
My newest NSV is buying medium shorts and medium top. It’s been 5 years since I wore medium bottoms. Yeah!21
