Liking your reflection is a life changer.
and is it ok to claim your neighbor's dog when it's at your place 90% of the time anyways?1 -

This dog is beautiful, Irish Setter and my dog loves him. I kept him inside during the cold spell last week because no one else seemed to want to do it. Anyways, now I'm like...you belong here now.2 -

How can they tell a Mammoth's DNA is from 500,000 years ago or a million? And how do they know they're right?
Yes, I like stuff like that but it's too complicated to even begin to understand.1 -

Basically because matter is made up of known parts (periodic table comes in here) and decays at known, uniform rates - so we know how long carbon stays carbon, for example. The entire universe is a road map to what was (and gives big hints to what will be). Eventually in a number (cue Carl Sagan saying billions and billions) of years, even our light from the sun ages out of the human visible spectrum into radio waves. Everything decays - people, matter, light - just slowly. When you know that, you can figure how long it takes/how old the thing is, approximately.
It's not as hard to understand if you have a guide. Might take several readings to understand (I have the audio book).

When I was young I thought the rumble strips on roads were for blind people. Today I wondered why my parents never corrected me for thinking that.2

I'm thinking that the Muffin Man must be a registered sex offender.
I mean seriously, how else would he get the nickname 'Muffin Man', while everyone in the world knows his street address?4 -
Step 1: Put about 4-oz of cool water into a cup. The water should be warmer than cold, but cooler than luke.
Step 2: Put a butter knife into the water with the blade side sticking out.
Step 3: Take as deep a breath as you can and hold it while you ...
Step 4: Carefully drink the water down.
Cures the hiccups every time. Nobody knows why ... it's a mystery of science.0 -
Why/how is it always the guys who have bare minimum ( which is fine if they’re content) and can barely take care of themselves always the first to offer to “take care of you” and say you won’t have to ever work.
