My newest NSV is buying medium shorts and medium top. It’s been 5 years since I wore medium bottoms. Yeah!21

Today, for the first time, someone noticed and complimented my weight loss completely unprompted. She said I looked great and healthy. Meant so much to have someone (especially who I hadn't seen in a while) notice and be so excited for me!21

The scale hasn't moved much the past 6 weeks but when I sat down at my sewing machine today for the first time in a month, I had to raise the seat of my chair a bit because I was too short. I asked my husband if he used my sewing chair for something, he said no and when I told him why I was asking he said, "well that's what happens when you have less a** to sit on."25

My NSV is just a new mindset that isn't fixated on the scale and has gotten used to trusting the plan, and believing the mirror and how my clothes are fitting! It hasn't always been that way32
-
I crossed my legs easily and was comfortable! That hasn't happened in about 20 years!24

This morning I hit a 220 pound bench press PR.31

I just feel good. I can bend no problem, I sleep better and generally just am happier. Wish I would of could of got here years ago but greatful I am here now.25

I hiked 5 miles today without my feet hurting.25

My blood sugar was 98 (normal, totally normal, not just ok for a diabetic) this morning!31

I've got a waist! I have been marvelling over it for a few weeks, actually, but since yesterday I have a dress that , without tucking anything in or a belt or anything, shows that waist nicely. And somehow, miraculously, does not make my belly (especially the upper pouch) stick out and look big.
I feel good wearing something that brings attention to (some of) my body.28 -
I have shoulder bones.
My upper arms, back, torso, were warmly encased in more fat than I realized. A month of strength training in and I found these knobs on both shoulders—visible knobbiness—and took a beat to register them as shoulder bones.
I’m cold more often, but I’ll take that trade off every day. I have the energy to bounce around and warm up. Upper back and shoulder muscles for the win! I aspire to look as good as Springlering.17 -
i love this thread, so inspiring! you are all rock stars, keep up the good work. And thank you for sharing!!10

True, I didn't work out today.
OTOH, I spontaneously decided to inventory my spice cabinet (I have a BIG spice collection) and wound up grabbing the white trim paint and painting the inside of the cabinet, complete with draping and taping the edges and all and wrapping the shelf in a fun contact paper, and I put it all back. And cleaned it all up. Before lunch.
And I didn't take a nap, and I made a rather complicated dinner and cleaned it all up, and I'm kind of bummed that my ankle is sore cause I still have energy and focus and I could go work out now.
This energy and drive is a very nice change for me!

I had a cup of ramen - then NSV was that it was a really fancy oganic ramen and all the reviews were complaining about the small serving size in the single serving cup. Once I had added all my veggies (a mushroom, a little cabbage, and a chopped green onion) and my chicken (around 3-4 ounces sliced) it was a fine portion size and I didn't have an issue with it. Previously I would have still thought the portion size was way too small. So for me - most times anyway - a serving really is a serving and that's a huge non scale victory!
Two others: I had an impulse snack buy today. Again I bought one serving of something and it wasn't even all that bad for me. I was expecting it to blow my calorie goal but it didn't. The other is that I notice myself craving vegetables. Like, I've become obsessed with green onions for some reason! Go figure.21 -
I got my new snowboard bindings in the mail. Needed help, Ie the correct tools to switch them with my old ones. (thanks dad) But now I am all set to go today and I got my ticket and it's only 6:15am in the morning. Hill opens at 9am....lol13

NSV - Down from a size 14 to 12 (possibly even a size 10) in pants.21

I went to buy some new shorts and had a CHOICE of sizes based on how I wanted them to fit not just the hope and a prayer that the biggest size would zip. It was so freaking weird!21

this is just the best (and FYI my car feels weirdly big too)

My shirt size has finally changed.
None of my clothes fit anymore but I am finally, within 10lbs of my goal weight, losing weight in my freaking torso.
I'm celebrating this as a victory but in truth it mostly means that now NONE of my clothes fit and it's frustrating as hell.15 -
I've needed a way to keep my hands busy (and out of the potato chip bag), so I've been working on crochet projects. I actually made 7 "Bernies" for people. Have to find a new project now. NSV is that I can still get lost in a project and actually forget to snack!!!

Our boat has a couple of "closets" that are deeper than my arms are long. Today, I was able to get my upper body into the closet so that I could reach the back and work on some wiring, rather than waiting for my husband to have time to help me.20

Took my stress out on my elliptical bike yesterday rather that on food! Usually chocolate is my comfort, and carbs my friends, but although i still love them, i think my mind has finally understood the words "in moderation". Ah, so not the whole bar??16

That app is so fun!3 -
Two days ago I had my first eye surgery to remove a large cataract and correct my vision. I have always been very scared of eye surgery in the past. I was nervous but the medical staff was fantastic at keeping me calm. So calm my b.p. was 118/69 = ideal. Yay! Recovery is going well. Not so nervous about the second eye surgery tomorrow.
ETA: One of the nurses confirming my health info said I'm in terrific health. WIN!28 -
I like to play with my engagement ring (yes my fiancé got me one... :P). It's been pretty loose on my ring finger, almost to the point where I need to worry about it. The opposite hand can be a little tight some days and other go on and off fairly easily. Out of the blue two days ago, I tried the ring on every finger and when I got to my right hands thumb, it slipped completely over my thumb knuckle... And easily enough came right back off. I didn't even think that would ever be possible, so It was oddly exciting. Since 2 days ago, it once again looks like that won't ever be possible... Must of been one of those days where i was just about completely drained of excess water weight. Either way though, I take it as a positive sign.17

I took a selfie with the camera at face level (instead of looking up to hide extra chins), and I didn't hate it. Even took one from below and didn't instantly delete it like I used to. It's nice not to feel like I need to "work the angles" to manufacture progress. The progress is there because of the hard work I have been doing over the past 9 months. I've still got a ways to go, but I am proud that I can feel good about myself every step of the way.19
