@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Maybe you can start a meal delivery service and I can be your first customer!
I've contemplated it once I get down in weight and the chronic pain isn't so much of an issue. Though I don't know if I'll ever go full pro at it, that's its own thing with laws and regulations that are different from just making food for a friend.2 -
Just got the best birthday present ever...Texas announced that adults over the age of 50 can get vaccinated as of March 15. I turn 50 on the 17th, so *just* in time!!10

@wanderinglight That's great news, congrats! (My dad's birthday is on the same day as yours, but he's in his 70s so has been jabbed already).
I had mine today - in England. I'm not sure but think I qualify early because I'm Fatty McFaterson. Either that or it's because I have depression and anxiety so am considered at a higher risk...3 -
Also, I'm thinking that when I can finally get my hair cut again (it's been more than 6 months), I might lose a further couple of pounds5

Thank you! And congrats on getting yours today! Whatever the reason, the more people who get vaccinated the quicker this will all end. Hope the second shot is smooth sailing!3 -

Yay! What good news!0 -
It was a pretty good week again. I didn't get exercise on Monday which was a busy day at work. But I did weight training on Tuesday and got walks with my husband on Wednesday and my youngest on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. That is like a double win because until recently my youngest wasn't getting much exercise. They graduated at the end of the summer and have been having a hard time finding a job with the pandemic. I can walk longer with them than I can with my husband who have been having foot pain lately. So I have been having longer walks this week. It has been sunny too so it was nicer to get outside to walk than to stay in and do strength training.
I am later getting on here today because we had a meet up today with good friends who live here in the Summer but had to come up here this week to get some things taken care of. They will be back in a month. We all have vaccinations but still met outside since our youngest isn't vaccinated. I will be reading your posts soon.7 -

Hi everyone I have finally kicked myself in the butt. I have osteoarthritis in my right knee making it hard for me to move freely surprise surprise doc recommended weight loss.
So I can no longer fool myself with "I will start next week or next month". I start now.8 -
I started this journey January 1st at 265 lbs. I never set any real weightloss goals or time frame, but I am happy to say I am now under 250 lbs. I weighed in yesterday at 247.8 lbs
I am very happy with my progress. On Friday I made my hubby laugh as I pulled my work pants off without having to undo them. Guess it's time for a belt. lol
I honestly am doing this mainly thru my nutrition, as I still haven't started a workout regime. I do get my steps in daily and do some heavy lifting of stock boxes at work,so I am sure that is helping. We have also been doing renos in the house.
I also have been doing reading on physchological aspects of weight issues and their correlation with foods ,it is helping me a lot too.
Have a great Sunday ladies15 -
@candyz01 welcome! The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and you've taken it. Glad to have you here!
@Angief05 you're doing amazing!!! I have also seen some differences in how my work pants fit, it's almost bittersweet because on one hand, yeah! Evidence I'm smaller! But on the other hand, dang, now i gotta go buy pants soon. Idk about you but my experiences in buying pants to fit 50" hips and a 26" inseam have been frustrating at best - the mind boggles, how can pants be too big and too small at the same time???4 -

Ugh... not great for 2 weeks but still a loss. I will try to eat closer to my calorie goal and not keep undercutting. I am a stubborn, slow learner here! One good thing is that I continue to lose inches. My waist has gone from 42" when I started to 38.75". I have also lost even more in my hips and butt. I need to remind myself that is a win.

Absolutely a win!!!1 -
@Angief05 Pants too big is a good problem to have. Keep it up!
@Spotteddingo Less inches is DEFINITELY a reason to celebrate. Woohoo!!!
Both of these NSVs bring me joy. You ladies are doing great!1 -

Unsurprising, to be honest. I had a bit of a mental breakdown halfway through last week. I'm feeling...stuck. It's not about the weight, believe it or not. π Aside from some big tasks I have at the moment, I'm struggling with having space. We live in military housing, and our college daughter came to stay with us in Japan for a semester (she's doing school online). I love having her here, but that makes 7 of us in our small 4 bedroom townhouse. We're also homeschoolers - which I generally love - but with all the covid restrictions, my kiddos can't go participate in the activities they used to. Hubs goes to work, but he's done at 4:30 pm most days - and comes home every day for lunch (again, something that I generally love) - but everyone is pretty much home. All. The. Time. Even if I try to get up earlier, my early riser is up, ready to start his day. You'd think that going to the gym or going on a bike ride or even a walk, I could get some alone time, but nope. I have kids who want to workout with Mom. I want to model healthy activity for them, and I love how accomplished they feel, so I'm not alone for what used to be my favorite solice and stress-reducer when they were all too young to participate. π
Honestly, I think part of the reason this came to a head last week was because I'm not eating away my stress and escaping by bingeing Netflix whenever I'm feeling like I'm over-stimulated by constant familial interaction. π€£ This is a great opportunity to learn how to manage this stress in a healthy way, and to set some boundaries with my loved ones. I've banned the downstairs from 5 am to 6 am starting this week so I can get an early workout that's mine alone - kickboxing. (My gym buddy kiddos don't like to go as hard as I like to, so I want 30-45 minutes of being able to really crush it.) And each evening after dinner, I'm planning to do something for an hour that'll put me in a better state of mind. Typically, I've just hung out in my room watching show or movie on my phone while the hubs supervises cleanup, but watching stuff on my phone doesn't really leave me feeling satisfied, tbh.
Here's hoping that'll help me feel less smothered! π π€π€8 -

Thank you for your encouragement... I certainly needed it today! Sometimes my inner negative self talk sits in the front row!

A day late in posting this, but better late than never:
Name: Jane
Age: 55
Height: 5' 9"
SW: 286.5 (6/3/19)
GW: Maintenance below 165
Weight tracking:
Mar 1: 164.3 π― - Went off the rails this weekend. But I know it's temporary. Just too much food in my gut.
Mar 6: 162.3 π - Back to where I should be, but more than I was last Saturday
Mar 13: 159.9 π
Mar 20:
Mar 27:
Mar 31:
Fitness goals:
Weigh daily: 7/7
Log food consistently: 6/7 - Started our Saturday doing well, but then I made Irish Soda Bread and gave up trying to log. It was another carb fest that I will pay for the rest of this week.
Run 5x week/20 miles: 7/5, 21.4 miles
On the water rowing 1x/week: Wasn't able to row last Sunday - too windy but did get some rowing in today
10,000 steps/day: 7/7
45 Zone Minutes/day: 7/7
Miles ran MTD: 42.09
Miles ran YTD: 185.6
Worked on running faster this week and all my runs were under a 10 minute pace.
Thrilled with the lower weight on Saturday and as is typical for me, used that good news to go a little hog wild over the weekend. Baked Irish Soda Bread on Saturday which I could not stop eating (it's in the freezer now) and since today was Pi day, I baked a Lemon Meringue Pie. Hoo boy that was the best pie I've ever had. I had one small slice today but we'll give the rest away tomorrow. My husband goes back to in person teaching tomorrow (he's fully vaccinated) so he can share it with his colleagues.4 -
Morning, Monday is weigh day for me.
Age: 44
Height: 5'4"
SW (11 Jan 2021): 250.6 (yikes, biggest ever)
CW (1 March 2021): 236.6
GW: 130
1/3/21: 236.6
8/3/21: 237.4
15/3/21: 234.4
Pretty pleased that last week's gain is gone plus a couple more pounds! I only managed 3 lots of BodyPump this week because work was hellish, but I'm cutting myself some slack.
I had my vaccine on Saturday and am feeling very, very tired, headachey, a bit flu-ey, so I thinkI'll be taking it easy this week.4 -
Its a year today that I started my healthier life journey, and when I started I had no idea that this time I would actually follow through.
16 March 2020: Start weight : 104.9 Kgs (230.78 lbs) Today: 62 kgs (136.4 lbs) Total loss: 42.9 kgs (94.38 lbs)
What have I learnt along the way?
That I can set goals and achieve them! I can have a rough day and get right back up again the next day!
That living a healthier life is vital to my whole being, that being able to run and walk and be physical gives me a high that I've never experienced before, yip at the age of 49!!
I've also learnt that I have a chronic compulsion to binge eat when I'm stressed and that its a default I followed for almost 30 years of my life, and even now its something I am working to change!
Where do I go from here?
The next stage of my journey is still to lose the last 5 kgs and to maintain, to build up on strength training.
To stop fasting at the weekend and maintain fasting Mon-Fri
