Ouch! I hope she recovers and lives a long life. I've been there with my pupster. It was worth every penny to us. He has since crossed the rainbow bridge, but we had many more years together after the emergency pet ER/emergency surgery.

Did Firm hi def Sculpt DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do an Essential Pilates DVD then ride the recumbant bike some.
Jess called this morning. She’s not coming. Fortunately, she called around 6. We would have had to leave for the airport at 8. Seems she not only has an exam Thur but now they told her that any exam that’s scheduled for Monday has to be taken by Wednesday and she has an exam on Monday. She would have been going back on Wednesday. The bad (well, not so bad really) part is that I bought this expensive meat assuming she would be here and now she won’t. But, oh well, we’ll just have it
Debbie – I have made the sourdough waffles from the discard and they were so light and fluffy. I’ve never been able to feed the starter one day and bake the next. Usually I have to feed it once or twice before I can bake bread.
When I first got my starter from King Arthur, they included a booklet that says that to revive a starter (which is what you’ll be doing) . To 113g of starter, add 113g of water (I use bottled water), and 113g of flour (I use unbleached all purpose but King Arthur says you don’t have to use unbleached). Let it rise (I usually leave it overnight). You may have to do this 2 or 3 times. When it has doubled, feed it once more and then you are ready to bake with it. King Arthur’s baker’s hotline is VERY helpful.
I hope your kitty does real well. We have a kitty who is now deaf. Sometimes it breaks my heart, but she’s happy

Tried to put a jigsaw puzzle I made for a friend into the frame. First the puzzle was a TINY bit bigger than the frame, maybe 1/16 of an inch. So we cut it down. Then the backing for the frame was too thick and with the puzzle in the frame, you just couldn't get the back on. So we returned the frame. Amazon has one that I want Vince to look at.

Machka- Great article on color. It wasn't what I expected it to be. I always think about colors because DH and I always disagree on color. Usually it is disagreeing on shades but sometimes we disagree on actual color (I say blue, he says green). I always assumed that people see color differently because color is basically pigment and light. And depending on how much light is let into our eyes (because all eyes allow different amounts of light in) will skew how each person sees that color.
Not just, what is your favourite colour but what is your favourite colour scheme, palette or range of colours? Ugh! I am an equal opportunity color lover. lol If pressed, under extreme torture, I would probably blurt out "RED!" as my favorite color. I am very drawn to red things. But I don't wear it. I don't (never have had) a red car. No red shoes or purse. No red rooms in my home or decorative accents. Maybe that is one of the reasons I love Christmas? I have oodles of red things everywhere, at that time of year. As a teen and young woman, I wore a LOT of black, white, and pink. As an adult, most of my clothing options have been blues, purples, black, and white. My home wall colors went from a warm palette of yellows/terra cottas to blues and grays. Cars have always been Notre Dame Green or Gold (DH's choices). When I chose color to put into my hair a couple of years ago, I chose green, turquoise, and purple. When I take those "What color is your spirit/soul/aura?" type of quizzes, I ALWAYS get yellow. I guess right now, I am in a cool blues palette/stage of life.
Mammograms/doctor stuff- It would be nice if they gave you a nice fluffy robe to wear when you visit the doc for check ups or the "big squeeze". I am always cold in those flimsy little gowns. Speaking of which, due to lack of insurance I haven't had a check up or "squeeze" in a couple of years. I need to find a direct care or mobile clinic, I am thinking. Any of you ladies NOT have insurance? Do you use a direct care MD or go to a mobile/free clinic?

REbecca- That Easter pic of Athena, from last year, is absolutely darling! Her little lips puckered! Oooooooo!0

latest update- Kitty tested positive for FIP- to cure, she was really suffering. We had to put her to sleep- $2000 for the treatment they tried, the testing and cremation. I stayed with her until she was gone- husband couldn't do it- he is really broken up over this- she was so close to him.
This is her with her twin brother-(he is the darker one) He is going to be lost without her

Debbie - I am so so sorry about your kitty. They are so much a part of the family.
Making the lasagna we were going to have for dinner but I forgot to put in the oven. Normally, I would have made it ahead of time but I know that Jess doesn't like something that's made ahead of time, she wants it "fresh" (like what you get at Olive Garden is "fresh") so I held off making it until she was here. I had it assembled and was going to tell her that I was letting the flavors meld.
Only she's not here. Now to take it out of the oven to rest

Debbie: Deepest sympathies 😭😹 I'm glad you could be with your furrbaby as she crossed the rainbow bridge.
Barbie: Thank you for the April launch.
No plans for Easter. I just don't have the energy or spirit for it. Monday I am having new flooring put into the master bedroom, closet and two bathrooms, so I will be moving everything that is not too heavy into other rooms. I actually enjoy the forced opportunity to purge and organize some more. Then, I'm sure I'll follow up with getting the walls painted and new window coverings. This is just about the most fun I have these days.
Favorite color? If you went by my home, it would be neutrals with accents in burgundy, russet and yellow. Definitely earth tones. I decorate with many, many live plants, as well. In my collection of clothes, I have alot of black and white. However, as I settle into being retired and stuck at home, I'm making a concerted effort to get new pieces in bright colors. More Hawaiian prints, too, which takes my mind back to the wonderful 17 years DH and I lived in Honolulu.
DH and my brother are continuing their respective cognitive and physical declines. At least the weather has turned fabulous and being outside does wonders for everyone's mood.
To those who celebrate, I wish you a very happy and blessed Easter.

Debbie - so Sorry about your furbaby.
My favorite color is blue, all shades. I wear a lot of blue but also like jewel tones.
Put horses out in the front pasture for the first time this spring. I don't think their jaws have stopped moving all afternoon. We will bring them in in a bit and maybe put them out tomorrow for a while. The grass has a high sugar content this early and we don't want them to have too much all at once.

Favorite Color(s) - I wear a LOT of red. My closet is predominately red, white and black. My house is mostly tans/beiges/sage greens with pops of red and other bright colors. I also love purple, it is still one of my favorite colors, but I don't wear it much. I also love yellow gold, as in jewelry . I don't look good in silver/platinum. It washes me out and makes me look ill.

Our Easter will be happily celebrated when we have both recovered from our second Phizer vaccinations. I am doing a bit better & DH is still dealing with the headache. His headache seems worse than mine.
I had a delightful lunch with two dear friends from my teaching days. I enjoyed seeing them both and had my very first raw sushi. We were seated outside of the restaurant and had the gift of pleasant weather. We were celebrating our friend’s retirement.1 -
thank you all for the sweet messages. Praying this is it for us- have had enough losses in way too short of a time period.
blew it on eating today- it was that damn breakfast burrito- got it while waiting at the vet's(Carl's JR is right around the corner so we did a quick drive thru- husband worked all night and needed to eat something. He is diabetic and was feeling off. I didn't even barely think about the calories while I was eating it. Have not eaten that many calories in one meal in about two years, especially not breakfast which I usually just have tea.
Had a ginger beer- haven't had one in a long time- checked the calories after- WOW, won't be doing that for a while, will cut it with seltzer and save the other half for another day- today I cut it with seltzer but ended up just drinking more- Had grocery store sushi half hour ago that husband had brought home yesterday- should have not eaten it- wasn't that great- now used up all my calories and still hungry
Oh well- tomorrow is a new day

Machka - I have different colour palettes I like for different rooms, clothes, even crafting. For rooms I like to paint more neutral colours but I like to punch it up with colours for decorations. Clothes I also go with a lot of neutral pants, but colourful shirts. In crafting, I use all the colours, I tend to go towards 70’s vibes, oranges, yellows and other bright colours or completely opposite and use pastels or beachy themes. I also think my choice of colour depends on the day, season, what’s going on in my life.
Rori - hugs to you.
Debbie - sorry for your loss
Okie - I love purple and yellow gold too. I have started to get away from purple clothes recently though.
I was shocked this morning. Rodger is a homebody and I’m more of a social creature. This morning I said that I didn’t want to sit in the house and do nothing all day. Normally I would clean and keep occupied that way, but not being able to bend or squat without pain hinders that tremendously so I am pretty bored on weekends. Rodger who never suggests we go and do anything together suggested we go to the flea market. So we went and walked around for an hour, we didn’t buy anything but saw some things we could chat about as in the “do you remember” topic. It was a nice way to break up the weekend and the fact that he suggested it made me very happy.

Debbie- my condolences never easy losing a fur baby.. I am nervous for Homer he is 15 and will have a fatty growth taken off on the 14th..

Debbie, I'm so sorry about your kitty. We do love our fur babies so.
Rebecca, in a spoiler since it's kind of TMI.we've been to the ER and the Urologist. He had a catheter at first. Now he is doing something called intermittent self-catheterizing. He does what he can then caths to finish it up. He can stop cathing when the majority is coming out on its own. They also gave him Flomax (I think that's the right drug) to help. My guess (from reading Dr. Google) is that there's some prostate surgery in his future. Part of the joys of getting old.
It will be sad to go to the Easter service by myself. At least the sunrise service is still virtual, so we can watch it together at home in our sunroom, which faces east. Last year, when we weren't meeting at all, we went for a walk for our sunrise service, but it is too cold this year. I am too wimpy. I have to wait on the sun to come out. The grandkids are coming up to the farm to hide eggs. I'll go up there, but Dave will probably stay home from that, too.2 -
Debbie – so sorry about your kitty
Colors – I wear most colors except yellows and yellow greens, they just are not complementary for my skin tone. My home is navy and merlot in the living room, a wine bottle theme kitchen, the guest room is burgundy and forest green with Elk, my room is blue with quilted gardens, the sewing room is white with red curtains. Hard wood floors with braided rugs. It is interesting I am drawn to purples, but there are just some splashes of purple in the house and a bit in my clothing, but not a ton. It shows up more in my garden.
I am finding that my 2 days a week care giving with my mom is exhausting and affects my business. So far I am keeping my head above water. I have discovered in visiting more that her home is not as clean as I would expect of her… I think it is a combo of age and vision. I am trying to figure out how I will continue to help… she is very independent and doesn’t want help. My brother lives there, but refuses to lift a finger and she would not ask. He also has very strong opinions about what is “girls” work and “boys” work and housework is not for him – there is no talking with him, so far he has not been violent since mom broke her wrist, but he has a history that is less than good.
I got my first Pfizer shot on Friday the nurse suggested to avoid any side affects to drink 2 to 3 times as much water as you usually do and to move your arm a lot, I did both of those and without touching the vaccination site (as it is tender to the touch) I have no side effects. 3 weeks and I’ll have my second shot.

we had her and her brother since they were very little- We were able to catch her because, being totally deaf, she went in the garage when it was open, fell asleep and didn't hear the garage door closing. Husband found her in there a few hours later. Caught her brother the next day. The mom was feral(until a couple years ago when we finally caught her and brought her in after a neighbor threatened to catch her and our one cat that we allow outside and take them to the shelter). Shima would never survive outside with the road and critters around. And, beings she was so bonded with her brother, had to keep them both.

DEBBIE so sorry about your kitty 💔
HEATHER enjoy your meet-up with family today. Hope Jonny is feeling better. I sympathise, it’s hard to see a partner ageing.
Tom is definitely slowing down and I wish he’d take a little more exercise. He can’t walk too far or too fast because of his breathing. I tell him just 10 mins a day would help. We have a downstairs loo as well as upstairs bathroom, he uses that and I’ve said go upstairs more often during the day. Walk slowly to local shop for newspaper instead of driving. He’ll do it for a while but doesn’t last. He has done the garden digging and planting etc kneeling which I can’t do. He thinks that’s enough. I invite him when I go for a walk but he declines. That’s why I’m so anxious to go to Spain because there he walked every day. Well here’s hoping.
Happy Easter everyone 🐇🐇🐣🐣

Barbie: ~ Thank you for setting up this group.
I have had a busy week. I thought I had posted here but I can't find it 😂 Either 👻👻👻 in the machine or more likely in my fingers 😂 I will skim read the missed posts.
Machka: ~ Enjoy your time off. I thoroughly agree with the 'stand up and move' idea. I impliment it daily.
Heather: ~ love the idea of the bonnets. Also like preparing my veg at lunchtime, as we Skype with family late afternoon and we can quickly turn them on to cook if the call runs over time.
We have had a great week enjoying time outside in the spring sunshine. Seed planting and potting up are going to plan. Our spring planters are ful of colour, and my magnolia is covered in pink buds ready to burst when the Sun returns. (We are forecast to have several days of dull showery weather.
Back later to catch up.
