Let's talk about how there's always April snow and below zero temps. (Just my whining. I know it's been worse elsewhere.)3

Haha 100% chance of snow today here. Gotta love it. But that's New England. I keep telling myself it *is* only April. We were simply spoiled by a couple of weeks of really nice 60-70 weather.
Having my snow tires changed out this Friday so hopefully that'll mark the true transition to spring weather.2 -
It wasn't actually below zero, just below freezing. I don't usually think about weather in Celcius!1

0C is the freezing point though. Equal to 32F.0

Mom just stopped by with a gift. Apparently she was having trouble finding the variety she wanted, so Dad, trying to help, started bringing home seed packets. A different variety every few days until he stumbled on the right one. Helpful in that he found it, but she wound up with far more seeds than she knows what to do with, all different varieties. So now she's finding new homes for all of them, and she knows I'm planning a garden. One less packet I have to buy I guess!5 -

I know, that was my point. To me, below 0 means below 0 F. Below freezing means below 32 F. I claimed a below zero temp which would be quite odd here in late April, rather than the below freezing I meant. Seemed a weird thing for me to type by mistake, but I guess I'm prone to drama re cold weather. ;-)3 -
Ah gotcha. I read it as thinking you'd made a mistake translating freezing to Celsius and was like "no... that's right..." 🙂
Just impulse bought some catnip seeds. We have a ragged flower box under the front window that we never do anything with because the cat sits in one side of it, so... 🤷♀️2 -
I'm overflowing in plants, I help at my town's food bank farm (I'm disabled so I have to sit so I get boring jobs but I'm growing tomatoes and basil to plant in June at home), i helped out during the plant sale and brought home more plants, have 30 grow bags waiting to be moved of tomatoes, Japanese sweet potatoes, zucchini, peppers, and cucumbers and butternut squash, then a ton of succulents, flowers, and herbs. I cut extra leaves off the sweet potatoes and rooted them and 7 more plants were born and rooted the pieces of my sage and every piece grew. I'm swapping a neighbor a tomato plant for some daisies. I think I need help! I have to hurry and eat all my lettuce and microgreens as we're close to 90s and it will bolt.
My trees are being trimmed Monday so I can get everything in permanent places then. I love picking stuff for my salad every day. Happy Earth Day!6 -

Got home and was checking my veggie garden .. seems my japanese red maple tree was busy making babies.. 😂
Picked out 9 seedling on the laen and put them in pots.. will try to bonsai out of them if they survive.. 🤞
My tomato seedlings didn't survive the cold snap last week.. my have to buy new ones this coming weekend and start again. 😔6 -
@lx1x Nice! Hope we get to see the bonsai'ed maples.
My sister had a bunch of lilac tree shoots growing on her lawn so she replanted a bunch and sold them at a yard sale she had. Who knew how popular they'd be?
Sorry about your tomatoes.
Trying to be patient here in Vt. because planting isn't recommended until after Memorial Day. After having 60-70 degree weather a couple weeks ago, it's even harder to wait now.3 -
All I currently have growing in the garden is this but I think it's pretty parsley to enhance any dish's appearance, the makeup of food. It's grown so much in just the last thirteen days since I've posted it. I'm going to start something today, one thing a day until I'm done...

This is some hard core and long term meal planning, when I have to have everything I want to eat in July ready and growing now Also many work outs planned out months ahead, as this and that project have to be done during this summer around the garden.2

Now I know what to get my mom for Mother's Day
Just ordered it from Target. It might arrive after Mother's Day, but I think we are going to celebrate a little later anyway, so my sister can come. First family visit now that we are all vaccinated!5 -
My sister accidentally wound up with a lot of extra strawberry plants thanks to an unclear website, so she's giving me some. I need to measure the bed today and let her know how many I want.5
