My scale readings bounced up 4 pounds when I changed batteries, so I didn’t suddenly gain 4+ pounds. I didn’t want to write that down but, other than the horror of a heavier weight, what difference does it make? So I’m going with the new readings, dammit.

It’s a lovely, cool morning after heavy rain yesterday. Perfect for pulling weeds! 😎

Another gorgeous cool morning. I pulled a ton of weeds & grass yesterday (I don’t use chemicals), and today I’m digging in my brick edging around my flower beds. Then mulch. Then a nice walk. Wishing you all a lovely day.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21: 171.9 (down .3 lbs from yesterday)
Calories ended up being very low yesterday, as I had planned my calories for the day with evening snacks and a cocktail that I didn't end up having. The next 2 days are tricky, I'll be eating out Tuesday & Wednesday - but I feel in a good place to make the right choices to not derail my weight loss. Will make both days OMAD, so the fasting should help. Today is a yoga day, which my aching muscles are so happy about!
6/22: 171.9
No change from yesterday, but no worries there. I have a challenging tabata workout today, which should really up my calorie burn. Our dinner plans of eating out (food festival) tonight are up in the air now and might be canceled (not up to me), which makes planning today difficult. If eating out, was going to be OMAD, so guess I need to keep to that just in case. So calories may be on the higher end today (if we go) or on the lower end (if we don't go).

Outside of America, it's probably more realistic. The average weight of a woman where I live in probably about 100lbs (44 kilos), for men it's slightly higher. I'm skinny in the wrong areas. I want to loose fat and develop muscle. My happiest was when I was 50 kilos. I think we're smaller boned compared to American people.7 -

- I have been maintaining since November 2019
- This is coming up to 16 months so far

- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

@MadisonMolly2017 It’s great to see you back! Don’t look at the way you are eating as a diet you can abandon when you get to goal. Look for a sustainable way of eating which you can do forever. That doesn’t mean you can never have dessert - just have a small portion and save the rest. You CAN DO THIS!5

@deepwoodslady Donna, several weeks ago I started weighing right before I go to bed and making a mental note. My real weight is in the morning. Naked with empty bladder. It’s just another piece of data but the other night I was 6# higher than that morning. Well, I got up during the night and had got rid of those 6 pounds plus more. Hkeep up the great work!3

Yesterday was a high calorie/high carb day, so I won't be surprised if there is a tick up in the scale tomorrow. Back to regular calories/carbs today. Plan is to go out and take dog for walks while it's still cool outside.
6/22--215.3 Took dog out to the trails yesterday evening. It was warm and humid in the forest and instead of a 1mile walk, it ended up being a 3 mile walk. The ice cream bar I ate when I came back home was so good.

06/20 …..200.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/21 …..199.0 ….. Happy tears here. Onederland! Truthfully, I won’t feel confident in Onederland until I am at 197 point anything (because gaining 2 pounds overnight is very easy for me). Grateful, thankful and staying mindful again today. I am not going to drop this ball!
06/22 …..198.8 ….. I am still on cloud 9 today. Thanks everyone for dancing with me yesterday. I kept the eating clean and the movement/activity steady. I rewarded myself with a couple of good classic rock songs to dance to.

@deepwoodslady
Two days in a row in onederland! There's no better motivation than seeing progress, AND this IS fantastic progress - congratulations!
Re your comment "I rewarded myself with a couple of good classic rock songs to dance to." I too listen and dance to classic rock - and on top of being fun, it burns calories! I go down the youtube rabbit hole quite often listening and dancing to old concerts. I linked a video below that I came back across this morning if you haven't ever seen it. It is so cool!! And the song is definitely classic rock for sure and a little before our time since the song is from the 60's. The first link below is from Playing for Change - just wonderful!! They have lots of videos on youtube but I think The Weight is my favorite even though it's really hard to say because they all are great. I haven't ever listened to The Band much other than being familiar with The Weight, Up on Cripple Creek, etc., but I watched The Last Waltz (their last concert from 1976) recently when it popped up on one of the streaming channels and I am enthralled with them at the moment. Anyway, I thought you might like it too if you haven't seen it before.
Playing for Change - so cool that Robbie Robertson is playing in it since he wrote The Weight.

Here's the original from Woodstock (I told you it's definitely a classic LOL but love watching it too!)

Sorry for edit but meant to add the Playing for Change link. Their website says:
Playing For Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. Our primary focus is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos we call Songs Around The World.

6/22 210 Back from camping, hiking & exploring. Sad to say I'm up 3 lbs from the end of our last challenge. Back to it now that I've got access to my own kitchen! Although I left my trusty food scale back at my friend's RV. She'll bring it when she comes back to town this Friday. I may have to get another one, as it seems measuring and weighing my food really helps me stay accountable and figure out portions. Depending on that by sight....I'm not so sure!

6/22 115.2 Creeping into the next stage of my cycle where water retention happens. Food has been good the past two days, so I’m happy about that. I feel good and I’m starting to notice small changes in my body since starting the strength routine a few weeks ago.
