🔹Drink more water (target min 64-80 oz daily; start with 1 glass before coffee)
🔹Journal Food Daily (tracking with MFP since 12/28/2018; basically skipped June-Dec 2019; recommit 1/1/2020; skipped out April-July 2020; recommit 8/6/2020)

R154: Don’t let vacation break all my good habits! This round includes a Girls Trip with my mom & sister which will be challenging. Focus on water & portion control.
Exercise Goal for this round: Planks & Walk.
🎯Mini Goal: 204.x (Repeat until I hit it!)
Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
6/21 206.4 Walked 2 miles, gardening, ? cal, ? net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
6/22 206.6 Walked .6 miles, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF. Lawyer for my mom to update her will, book club, and packing for our trip! Busy day yesterday.
6/23 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis long car ride, no exercise, restaurant meals this week! ? cal, ? net carbs, 1 glass wine.
6/24 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis Walked 2 miles Garvan Gardens, pizza & 1 beer for lunch at Grateful Head. Cheese, grapes, nuts, 3 wine and leftover pizza for dinner as we watched the water activity, sunset and played dominos.
6/25 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis Walked while shopping in downtown Hot Springs ~ 2 miles, ? cal, ? net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Latin food (wonderful homemade tortillas used for quesadillas) at Rolando’s on the back patio w/ 1 margarita, then crab cake & fried okra at Fisherman’s Wharf. Too much food! Watched the sunset over the lake, played Skipbo & Spinner dominos on our last evening.
6/26 210.1 No exercise, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF. Whirlpool bath in the hot spring water, sauna and massage at Arlington Hotel before the 8 hour drive. Stopped in Jefferson at Kitt's Kornbread Sandwich & Pie Bar for Cornbread Sandwich (Turkey, Ham, Cheese, Purple Onion, Tomato, Mayo, Mustard on Jalapeño Cornbread ... also could have selected the Broccoli Cornbread or Plain Cornbread). In addition ordered chicken dumplings and sugar free coconut cream pie. Then DH had Popeye’s fried chicken waiting for me when I got home for a late dinner. YIKES! 3.5 lb gain over that short vacation! I did not snack with my mom & sister during the vacation … they eat ALL the time. But still the meals were a killer of course it was my choice what to order and I chose poorly. Time to get things back under control and reel the gains back in.
6/27 207.3 Walked 3.2 miles, 1521 cal, 43 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Feeling either a sinus headache or cold coming on last night and then slept 10 hrs. Hope today I’ll feel much better. No more ? for my food intake this week is the plan. Back to journaling everything!
6/28 206.7 Walked 3.1 + 1 miles (12682 steps, 5.3 miles total for the day), 2216 cal, 49 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Feeling much better! Nice day with kids visiting for lunch, a little rain, and then got caught up on some of my book club reading.
6/29 206.2 Walked 1.4 miles after the rains, 1907 cal, 77 net carbs, AF. Took my mom for her followup with doc that did surgery on her broken wrist before our trip then lunch out with my mom & DD. Good day though I did get into the snacks in the evening! DH was at an Astros game. But then better snacks than drinking alone.
6/30 205.9 Walked 2.4 miles, last .5 mile running in the rain to get home quickly but drenched, 1605 cal, 98 net carbs, 2 glasses of wine.
Now that I’m back in the 205s I need to get off this rollercoaster I’ve been on in 2021 and make some real progress the remainder of the year! Just because my clothes are now comfortable as I hang out in the 205-207 range doesn't mean that I need to stay here.
10 day average 207. Higher than I would like as an average for the round! But it could have been much worse.

In again! I'd be lost without this group

6/30 - 147.2 - Feeling better. Ended up accidentally falling asleep on the couch I was so tired yesterday. Stomach felt a tad better. Feeling okay today though I'm a little hesitant to push myself. I'm skipping kickboxing. If I have the chance for yoga, I might try it later, but it will certainly be gentle until I know my body can handle it. At least I'm not so tired I can't function today. That was challenging.
Previous Day's Comments6/21 - Wow, thought I'd be in the 150s again after this weekend. Super happy with this. Back to work so back to regularly scheduled life again. Water beside me full and ready for the rehydration process. Workout clothes on to knock out a workout. I'm still groggy and worn out so it'll probably be light as to not stress my body out. Dinner was late and I didn't check time when we finished. Will restart fasting after today when I end my feeding window for the night. Will fast today so long as I feel comfortable, though. Getting back on track and feeling tired but renewed to keep on this journey I've put myself on. PS - Even though I haven't been in the ocean since Saturday, I can still feel the waves if I sit really still. It's fantastic feeling
6/22 - A little progress is still progress! Got a little more than 90 oz water. Started fasting clock for today. Super sleepy still but going to make myself do kickboxing to help wake up before my training begins (9-2:30 behind a computer learning a system....yippee! Not so good when I'm feeling like I could fall asleep standing up). Doing my best to make it a good day, though.
6/23 - There we go, better progress. Got my kickboxing workout in though the walk with pup was cut short. Despite my super long training, I did get steps in and try to move around. Water was good. Maybe just a touch shy but we went out to eat and I'm not sure the exact oz measurement of their cups. Off to another good day. Dressed in workout clothes to start off with so I can knock out another workout (I'm dreading it but I know I'll thank myself after).
6/24 - Down we go. I HOPE I can see last round's "EW" again. Woke up an hour earlier than normal to knock out my kickboxing. BF will be up early for an early meeting and my day starts with an earlier than normal meeting as well. It was either get up earlier to knock it out or skip it today. I woke up early for a workout, WHO AM I?! In about 2 weeks I'll be waking up super early (4am...currently waking up normally at 6am) to physically go into work so I guess 5am today isn't so bad. It's prep for work! Fasted 16.5 hours yesterday, drank my 90 oz water. Got kickboxing and slightly shorter walk with pup done (0.75 mi vs 1 mi). Just finished kickboxing for today so time to wake up the daughter to see if she's running and get the pup for a walk while on my morning meeting
6/25 - Sodium, I believe. We had homemade nachos last night and tortilla chips usually do me in with sodium. Only drank about 70-75 oz water. Oh well, back on it today.
6/26 - Surprised to be down as much as I am. Somewhat late night for me including alcohol which usually causes a bit of bloat. I'll take it! Not quite enough water, but about 70oz again. Haven't been fasting well lately, I'm going through a hunger phase. Listening to my body (within reason) and the extra calories seem to be helping, not hurting.
6/27 - I was being extra lazy and didn't want to go through the process of my weigh-in this morning. Still feeling very sleepy
6/28 - Really surprised. My tummy still hurts from yesterday and super bloated. Something at our late lunch (so late we didn't eat dinner) did NOT sit well. Even now my leggings being slightly compressive on my tummy hurts. Think I'll skip kickboxing and do some yoga this week until this feeling goes away. Didn't successfully wake up at 515 like planned, but did wake up at 540 so progress. Need to get that down before end of week since starting Wednesday next week, I'm going into work -- a 4am wakeup to commute! Ick, not a morning person. I can function, but I don't like it. Plus, I've found through sleep studies, I get my best sleep in the morning. My body's circadian clock is offset (circadian rhythm disorder) and I sleep better from about 1-3am until about 9-11am (depending on how tired I am). I'm doing online CBT-Insomnia to help as I also am diagnosed with that as well. Hopefully my body will adjust quickly! Also, while I'm commuting, I likely won't fit in my kickboxing. I work 10hour days and with traffic, likely won't get home until about 7-8pm. Just enough time to eat, shower, and go to bed for the early next morning. Ugh. Will try to get in lunch walks. I know work will keep me walking, too.
6/29 - Carby foods yesterday but it helped my stomach feel better. Today I'm still tired and my body now feels about 1000lbs because it has already taken so much energy to get out of bed and on my morning call. Going to listen to my body and rest up. Nap if necessary.

6/21 - 182 - been here for over a week - but I'm patient -LOL
6/22 - 182 - need to go food shopping today. I’m glad at least that it’s supposed to be a bit cooler - now I don’t mind using the stove because otherwise it makes the house too hot. Going to try to get some meals pre cooked and ready to eat for the rest of the week! Also have a doc appointment - my physical and get to see the results of my blood work. Hope you all have a Great Day.
6/23 - 182 - I feel good about my food choices and activity level.
6/24 - 182 - I was so tired yesterday I didn’t do any exercises. Hope to have my energy back today. Hope you all have a lovely day.
6/25 - 182 - I did get my energy back yesterday and did my exercises. My exercises are at least 30 min on the elliptical for cardio, and some hip strengthening and stretch exercises. Also kept to my calorie count. Have a great day.
6/26 - 182 - Hooray it’s the weekend! Hopefully we’ll do something fun/different today. I’m hoping for pool and outdoor walking (as opposed to indoor mall walking.) Enjoy your day!
6/27 - 182 - No access to a scale this morning. But, it’s a pretty sure bet I’m still at the same weight.
6/28 - 182 - Well, it was a few ounces lower, but I only do whole numbers. I’m thinking the next ten day round will be better. Just have to wait a bit longer.
6/29 - 182 - Ditto to yesterday.
6/30 - 182 - One more round !

SW:299.6 (4/20/21)
CW: 274.9
Goal Weight: 180
Goal Weight Round 154: 270
Day/Weight/Comment
6/21 274.9
6/22 272.3 - Comparing apples to oranges the last 2 days. Yesterday's weigh in was 2 straight days of not working out. Today's was after the hardest workout in the T25 Alpha program, so obviously there's a huge weight fluctuation. 272 is where I was pre-wedding last weekend so I'm happy to see it again. I plan on a second workout tonight since I skipped yesterday. I can't wait to never see 270 again!
6/23 270.1 - Okay I know it looks crazy to lose 4.8 lbs in 2 days, but the 274.9 was about 2 lbs higher than I'd been in a week and now today's I know I didn't drink enough water yesterday. I did 2 workouts yesterday and sweat a lot. Finished working out and showered and cooked and before I knew it, it was time for bed. Then I woke up and did another workout. So yeah, I need to drink a lot of water today, obviously. I thought my scale was broken with this weight, so I stepped on another scale and it came up the same. Definitely expecting to go up tomorrow but it feels really good to almost be out of 270... Let's go!
6/24 270.7 - A little bounce up. Did not work out this morning as I must have slept on my shoulder a weird way and have a knot that hurts on any movement. I'm going to stretch it out throughout the day and hope to get my workout in tonight. I'm so close, I can't make excuses.
6/25 270.5 - About the same as yesterday. Got home from work and did a workout. With my shoulder still hurting, my range of motion was limited, but finished the workout nonetheless. This morning I was supposed to do Total Body which = pushups. With my shoulder still in pain, I decided to put that on pause. I figure it's better to just maintain healthy eating and not push it and risk hurting something else by overcompensating. Hopefully this pain goes away soon!
6/26 270.5
6/27 268.7
6/28 269 - Didn't post here on the weekend but weighed each day. Shoulder still hurts and at this point I think it's a muscle pull rather than a knot, so that takes away any upper body workouts for the time being. That's fine, I can do cardio and lower body and get through this. I had a goal of 260 by my friends wedding in 19 days. Does not look like that's happening, but I just have to keep working hard and get as close as possible. Down 30 lbs in just over 2 months!
6/29 267.4 - This is definitely water weight difference. I was so focused on doing things around the house last night that I just forgot to drink water. Then finally got a workout in this morning before weighing so that's the reason for the huge swing. Either way, it's making the 6/21 weight look ridiculous at this point. Have I lost 6.5 lbs in 8 days? Nope lol. May have officially said goodbye to 270 though!
6/30 266.3 - Yeah I don't even know what to say about this. Honestly speechless. I didn't work out this morning. I weighed myself on 2 scales a total of 6 times just to make sure this was accurate. I have no explanation for this. Just a fluctuation I guess. Not buying into this unless it holds. Hopefully tomorrow's weigh-in is telling and helps me set a realistic goal for next round.11 -

Round 154
Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
6/21: 212.4
So, this is what it looks like the morning after. I should have no problem loosing during this round thanks to this high number. This is where averaging my 10-days makes more sense.
6/22: 210.8
Yesterday, I kept it “generally” “under control.”
6/23: 210.4
It is good to be back to “normal” after that weekend of cake-hole stuffing.
6/24: 210
6/25: 210.8
Did not have time to post yesterday. I was feeling pretty good and then this morning’s reading threw me. Had to be the sodium because I ate below calories and had a nice long walk. (by “nice long walk” I don’t mean as far as @musicsax walks! Ha!)
6/26: 209.8
6/27: DNW
6/28: 211.0
Traveled four hours to see DD for the first time in 18 months. So, I did not log Saturdays reading until this morning. Had a nice time. She introduced us to two new eateries that were fantastic. Lunch on Saturday was a Mexican place. I mean Mexican, not taco bell or chi-chi’s. Supper was a farm to table butcher and restaurant. In between was a visit to the bakery where she works, for a cookie and some coffee. Yesterday was a bit more tame. That being said, I am happy with this morning’s reading. HA!
6/29: 211.0
Where has this month gone? On calorie goals yesterday, but maybe not the best food choices toward the end of the day.
6/30: 209.0
This round in general was a victory by a slim margin. I met my goals thanks to a 2# drop from yesterday. That’s why it feels a little cheap. But hey, I will take it and move forward. Today sets up a good challenge for the next round’s “minor goal.”
On another matter…. Let me say I am thankful for this group because I simply do not do well under the “unexamined life” mode.
“Unexamined life” is like playing golf, but not writing your score on the score card. You still have a score even though you did not write it down. If you want to get better, you must keep track. It helps you find what works, and what you need to work on. Fore!

My scale readings bounced up 4 pounds when I changed batteries, so I didn’t suddenly gain 4+ pounds. I didn’t want to write that down but, other than the horror of a heavier weight, what difference does it make? So I’m going with the new readings, dammit.

It’s a lovely, cool morning after heavy rain yesterday. Perfect for pulling weeds! 😎
6/22 - 187.5 - 1476
Another gorgeous cool morning. I pulled a ton of weeds & grass yesterday (I don’t use chemicals), and today I’m digging in my brick edging around my flower beds. Then mulch. Then a nice walk. Wishing you all a lovely day.
6/23 - 187.7 - 1502
I’m trying hard not to notice my morning weigh-in # — up a pound - and just watch my moving average, but it’s hard. I can’t understand why I’m up. Average (and daily) calories are down from past rounds, and macros are right on target. I’m getting plenty of exercise. But ok, my moving average is pretty steady, so I guess I’ll get a drop soon. Still, discouraging. No hugs needed, just venting cuz DH doesn’t want to hear it. 😁
6/24 - 187.8 - 1439
Most of the big garden work is done (for now), so I’m planning more time walking some of the lovely paths in our area. One goal is to walk all 27 miles of our Rivergreenway system (not all at once, although that would be a great goal, but not possible because it branches). Anyway, that, plus we have 3 state parks, a number of land trust trails, and other great trails within reach, and the rest of the year to reach them. Another goal is to get back to running. I ran a half marathon 4 years ago, but haven’t run for the past three years. Time to get back to that. And I’m considering whether I could get myself out of bed early to swim laps at the Y in the 6-7 time slot when it’s very uncrowded. Maybe… I miss the salt-water pool I belonged to in NC — I swam 20 min of laps 3 times a week and loved it. Anyway, attitude adjustment after yesterday. Onward!
6/25 - 187.7 - 1647
Rainy day. I guess I have no choice but to stay in and vacuum. Uck. I don’t know why we can’t have self-cleaning floors. 🤓 I might go walk laps around Menard’s for a while. 🏃🏻♀️
6/26 - 187.6 - 1663
Creeping, but in the right direction! I’m planning very low-cal meals because I’m making rhubarb-ginger crisp for dessert — one of my favorite recipes in my mom’s ancient cookbook. Mmmmm. I’m hoping to get a walk in between rain storms. It rained all day yesterday — garden is happy! Good day to yank up some weeds. Have a lovely Saturday, all!
6/27 - 187.9 - 1710
My daily calories were 1420 yesterday (even with the rhubarb-ginger crisp!) but my average over the past week is what matters, and explains the slight bump up in average weight. Tracking averages/trends is helping my attitude a lot. 😁 So does this bunch of lavender from my garden — the fragrance! Enjoy!
6/28 - 187.7 - 1731
Monday, Monday…. Off to look for a new stove today. What fun. Otoh, my garden is looking lush after 3 days of rain and heat! Lots of deadheading to do, but I love that hands-on interaction with growing things.
6/29 - 187.6 - 1593
Our new stove is being delivered as I write! I understand it makes lower calorie food. 😁
6/30 - 187.9 - 1494
I’d hoped for more, but it is what it is, and I still haven’t lowered my calories enough, obviously. Otoh, I’m much more active than I was a month ago, and I have better control of my snacking most days. A couple of high-cal days early in the round skewed my average for the round, but I’ll do better in July. See you in R155!8 -
@_JeffreyD_ I love your analogy!4

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21: 171.9 (down .3 lbs from yesterday)
Calories ended up being very low yesterday, as I had planned my calories for the day with evening snacks and a cocktail that I didn't end up having. The next 2 days are tricky, I'll be eating out Tuesday & Wednesday - but I feel in a good place to make the right choices to not derail my weight loss. Will make both days OMAD, so the fasting should help. Today is a yoga day, which my aching muscles are so happy about!
6/22: 171.9
No change from yesterday, but no worries there. I have a challenging tabata workout today, which should really up my calorie burn. Our dinner plans of eating out (food festival) tonight are up in the air now and might be canceled (not up to me), which makes planning today difficult. If eating out, was going to be OMAD, so guess I need to keep to that just in case. So calories may be on the higher end today (if we go) or on the lower end (if we don't go).
6/23: 171.9
I think I need to change batteries in my scale...when I 1st got on it this morning it showed a 3.5 lb loss, which seemed excessive, so tried again & I got the same weight as yesterday. So that's what I'm logging, doing all the right things, a loss will show up hopefully sooner than later! Already got in my upper body workout for today and about to go have lunch out in restaurant with a friend - only the 3rd time I've been in a restaurant in over a year and the 1st time with someone other than my husband since quarantine started. Yay for vaccines!
6/24: 171.5
Got a "Hug" on my post yesterday, not sure why having a positive attitude about my weight loss journey, being happy to be able to go out to lunch, & being thankful for vaccines warrants a hug. No hugs needed, doing quite well:)

Thank you @quiltingjaine
5/10: 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)
Round 150: -1.9
Round 151: -2.0
Round 152: -2.6
Round 153: -1.6
Round 154 Goals: 80oz water; row 30 mins, most days; free-weights; eat vegetables/fruit; 1200 to 1500 calories; IF most days; no sugar; temporary elimination of wheat. Use the knowledge I've gained over the last rounds (and years). I know my triggers and I know what works!!
SW End of 153: 174.8
6/21 - 174.6
6/22 - 174.9
6/23 - 174.7 Hanging out around the same weight for 6 days just means I'll see a bigger drop when it happens, right? Right!
6/24 - 173.7 It's nice to see 173.X.
6/25 - 173.2 Hit my goal for this round even though it might fluctuate a little over the next days. I'm so happy to hit 173.2. This was my lowest weight on MFP and this challenge before I gained some of it back, stopped posting and then gained all of it back. Even though I hate to focus on a specific catch-up weight because it feels so defeating at times, I can't help it and it feels so good to be back at this weight. I am extremely motivated at the moment, not only from weight loss but the changes I'm seeing from all my healthy habits. I am now laser-focused on the 160's!!
6/26 - 172.5 - I was hesitant to post this weight because I'm a little late weighing this morning and it will most likely go back up some over the next few days, which will be perfectly normal. I'm not marking 173 off my "Good Riddance" list just yet
6/27 - 172.0 I'm glad I've learned not to get frustrated and give up when the scale stays around the same number days/weeks because a drop is around the corner if you hold on. I guess I can officially mark 173 off my "Good Riddance" list, even if I do jump a bit before the round ends.
6/28 - 172.1 Even though I do IF almost every day, my calories stay around the same. For the past week, I've been changing up the number of calories each day. I know lots of people do this including people mentioning it here. I read this is calorie/carb cycling and keeps from negative hormonal and metabolic changes when reducing calories. I also did a query on MFP and people have different opinions about it on whether it helps you lose weight. Anyway, it makes sense to me so for the past week I've been changing it up. My average calories for the week still falls within my calorie range of 1200 to 1500. The past few days have been the lower range and the next few days I'm going to do the higher range so we'll see if my weight fluctuates up as well. I read that if you are going to calorie/carb cycle that you have to be prepared for a little more fluctuation and not to get bummed out.
6/29 - DNW
6/30 - GW: 173.2 New GW: By the end of the round, still be 173.2 or less.
173.2 - jumped all the way back up to my original goal weight for this round after my planned higher-calorie days. The drop to 172.0 was a little misleading I do believe since it was during my low-calorie days. I'm happy where the round ended - down 1.6 pounds.
Good Riddance!183

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21 159.2 Yesterday was rough. guests at our house. Stress for me is still waay too high re: my Dad. determined to get a better handle on things... taking most of this morning off work (hope that I don't lose my job...) since woke up feeling sick with headache & bad allergy issues. Meds have been taking affect & have been working on resolving issues re: my Dad. So stressed that I was shaking. Would help if knew how to handl a couple things.... then would be easire. Oh well... working on it.
6/22 DNW very bad day, again. The stress has been terrible for both my husband & I. We moved him to a different rehab today. I hope we got him out in time so that we don’t have to put him in the hospital, again. One of his wounds is almost to the bone where he has a contracture (his hand). He’s almost out of Medicare days for hospitalization.
6/23 159.2 another rough stressful day.
6/24. 159.2 rough day again. Can tell my Dad isn’t doing well His labs are starting to go down. Coughing more. Works been stressful. Oh well.
6/25 159.6 Oy! Stress level slightly lower today. My Dad is being treated for pneumonia, now. but not contagious. Was notified of that today while at work.
6/26. 159.2 bad food day. Expecting a gain. Visited dad. Noticed in cameras when they wheeled him back to his room in wheelchair from where he had been watching TV in a living area, the mask he had on was over his eyes. Can you imagine what that must have been like for him?! Ghah! There was another problem while I was there, but it was resolved. Nice people, but like the other rehab, the nurses seem overwhelmed & like they don’t have enough time. Too many patients. My sons wife may have baby a few weeks early. Exciting!
6/27. 161.2 tons stress still Did better with food. Started tracking it, here, again, & measuring. Also more water.
6/28. 160.2 shaking from stress Did better with food, today, too. Tracked & weighed/measured food, again today. More water, again.
6/29 158.6 yay!
6/30. 157.8 Yay! Did better with food, again. And much better with water today. Still having lots of stress re: Dads situation & lots of work stress.

Day/Weight/Comment
06/20 …..200.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/21 …..199.0 ….. Happy tears here. Onederland! Truthfully, I won’t feel confident in Onederland until I am at 197 point anything (because gaining 2 pounds overnight is very easy for me). Grateful, thankful and staying mindful again today. I am not going to drop this ball!
06/22 …..198.8 ….. I am still on cloud 9 today. Thanks everyone for dancing with me yesterday. I kept the eating clean and the movement/activity steady. I rewarded myself with a couple of good classic rock songs to dance to.
06/23 …..197.4 ….. Although not planned, it ended up being a meatless day. I cut the IF short by 2 hours (14/10) and had spaghetti squash for dinner. Some dairy, very light grains. 50% more steps than the last few days and another 2 songs to dance to. I think it was quilting jaine that mentioned popcorn for fiber that she’s used in the past. I bought a box of 100 calorie popcorn and had my first one last night. Yummy and crunchy. I have now hit the short-term goal of 197 point anything which makes me feel firmly planted in Onederland. Dinner will be out tomorrow with my son but I will hang on for dear life to keep the scale in Onderland on the 25th.
06/24 …..197.8 ….. I don’t know how I could eat 1000 calories less than I burned and gain 0.4 lbs but I did. I don’t think I am retaining fluid right now based on yesterday’s meals either. In any case, I ended up eating 3 meals (including breaking my fast and having breakfast) because I was going to the hair dressers for a 3 hour appointment and am always worried about glucose drops when away from home. I kept it just under 1700 calories so I will call yesterday one of my higher calorie days to keep my metabolism in check. Not happy there will be 2 in a row including today when my son & I go on our planned outing. Now I must keep it more reasonable than originally planned, but it will be SO worth it. I want to keep things rolling while I am strong!
06/25 …..198.6 ….. Not too bad after 2 days of higher calorie and carb. Today I will be at home and my diet will be back on track. I consider these past two days to be metabolism re-sets. I plan on trying to get in more water and activity today too although we are expecting thunderstorms all day. I’ll work out in spurts inside. Burn baby burn!
06/26 …..198.6 ….. I’m surprised it didn’t budge downward as yesterday was filled with extra activity and calories stayed below 1350. No TMI is probably the reason. What a difference that makes! I am attending an outdoor wedding this afternoon in heavy rain and thunderstorms. We have a flood warning going on today. This should be interesting! Hopefully the scale won’t be too bad tomorrow.
06/27 …..199.0 ….. The immediate social engagements are over but I am scheduled to be traveling a very long day tomorrow (meals out). So today is a compensation day stuck right between the wedding yesterday and the travel tomorrow. I’ve got to make it count. I will fast 16/8. Drink extra water. Get as much movement in as I can (expecting another 12 hours of rain and thunderstorms). A well-planned day should help keep me in line.
06/28 …..197.6 ….. I had to cancel trip today. I was so sick yesterday evening and all night. A little better today but not 100% Possible gall bladder or diverticulitis attack, probably from too many almonds day before yesterday. Horrid pain. This is a big overnight drop on the scale. Probably from such little eating yesterday (it hurt too bad) and from dehydration. We’ll see what the next few days bring as this is probably a little lower than my weight realistically is.
06/29 …..197.6 ….. Scale was the same today. Still not feeling well I did manage to eat about 900 calories but my movement was only that of me breathing on the couch laying down. I mean, I only got in 2049 steps for the day and it takes that many just to get to the bathroom a few times! Pathetic. I’m hoping I will feel better today. I appreciate all the well wishes.
06/30 …..196.4 ….. I am down 3.8 for the round but I credit one of the pounds to being sick the other day with the tummy issue. Took my new cat in today to get her fixed and chipped. I’ll pick her up tomorrow. No sleep last night due to worry over it. Lazy day today. And tired from waking up so early. I need a kick in the butt! Congrats to everyone for their achievements. See you next round.

Hi All,
I’m back! Happy to see familiar faces 😁
I’m approaching the 3-year mark of maintenance (Sept 1) & a number of things have contributed to a “perfect storm” of increasing scale wts. Want to catch this sooner rather than later!

The scale is slowly dropping; my trend is beginning to show it.
Tracking exactly. Stretching the time between meals gradually ie reducing snacks.
I’m going to give my ankle one more day — actually, I’m going to walk today. I’ll wrap it & wear my hiking boots to hold it steady, ice it when home.
Slept like a baby haha
6/29 I have an entrenched 10K walking commitment, so I’ll get at least 4,400 in (which is what research says makes the most difference) & hopefully more.
6/30 WOW I walked 15,001 steps yesterday. Ankle is fine & I never even iced it. Sometimes I guess just going out there manages to fix it!!!
Made my tracker for July for the “Building Health Habits” Group.
I spent a lot of today looking back at my wt, calories, exercise & resting calories on a yearly basis. I’m feeling positive & have formulated a clear plan for July.
See you in 155! Thanks!!
I think 🎶 “everything’s gonna be okay!” 🎶

Hi, I am in again. I seem to be still maintaining, altho I would like to be losing, lol.
Something I read that I need to remember...I am working toward health, not weight necessarily.
71 yr old 5'3" Original SW= 175 on 8-19-12.
Lost 25# and basically maintaining since. Would like to lose at least 15# more.

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21--215.6 Yesterday was warm out, so other than going to my trainer I didn't do much else. Yesterday was a high calorie/high carb day, so I won't be surprised if there is a tick up in the scale tomorrow. Back to regular calories/carbs today. Plan is to go out and take dog for walks while it's still cool outside.
6/22--215.3 Took dog out to the trails yesterday evening. It was warm and humid in the forest and instead of a 1mile walk, it ended up being a 3 mile walk. The ice cream bar I ate when I came back home was so good.
6/23--216.2 There is the uptick in the scale that I was expecting yesterday. Today is going to be a little cooler, so my plan is to go out for a long walk today.
6/24--216.2 Holding steady. Did not go out for a walk yesterday, by the time I went to sleep last night I realized that I had rarely been outside yesterday, work has been crazy. Today I am going to make sure that I go outside and get active.
6/25--214.9 There goes the drop from the uptick for the past 2 days. hopefully the drop will continue. Trainer day today.
6/26--214.5 It's going to be hot today. A friend and I are going on a road trip to the coast. I am bringing my puppy and this will be the first time she's seen any body of water, can't wait to see how she reacts.
6/27--215.1 Definitely enjoyed myself at the beach yesterday and definitely went over my calories, so not surprised about the uptick in weight. Trainer day today.
6/28--215.3 Last day of the major heat wave today, but it will still be hot over the next couple of days. I am so not motivated to cook anything in this heat, but I have to make sure that I just don't eat any and everything.
6/29--216.0 Carb overload. It was so hot here yesterday, and no air conditioning, that I did not want to cook anything and ended up just grabbing what was easy to eat. It's a little cooler today, so I'm back at it.
6/30--216.0 I am so happy to even the small loss. With the oppressive heat during this round my eating took a hit, but I know a lot of this is water retention. On to next round!

June focus: maintain weight < 150
- I have been maintaining since November 2019
- This is coming up to 16 months so far
- I have gradually worked my way down to being consistently under 145 lbs
- Working on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Aims:2021 Focus:JGM10D ~|~ Round 154 🔹Posting weight and comments each evening.- Maintain weight < 150
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
