6/21 159.2 Yesterday was rough. guests at our house. Stress for me is still waay too high re: my Dad. determined to get a better handle on things... taking most of this morning off work (hope that I don't lose my job...) since woke up feeling sick with headache & bad allergy issues. Meds have been taking affect & have been working on resolving issues re: my Dad. So stressed that I was shaking. Would help if knew how to handl a couple things.... then would be easire. Oh well... working on it.
6/22 DNW very bad day, again. The stress has been terrible for both my husband & I. We moved him to a different rehab today. I hope we got him out in time so that we don’t have to put him in the hospital, again. One of his wounds is almost to the bone where he has a contracture (his hand). He’s almost out of Medicare days for hospitalization.
6/23 159.2 another rough stressful day.
6/24. 159.2 rough day again. Can tell my Dad isn’t doing well His labs are starting to go down. Coughing more. Works been stressful. Oh well.
6/25 159.6 Oy! Stress level slightly lower today. My Dad is being treated for pneumonia, now. but not contagious. Was notified of that today while at work.

HI. I'm going to follow this for the next few days, awaiting the challenge that will start up soon. I took a diet break, and now am getting back into the mindset of doing calorie counting and careful consideration of every meal/snack.8

Hello - Thought I'd try recording here again.
I've been eating good and exercising.
Just waiting for the scale to start moving again.
Good Luck Everyone !

6/21 - 182 - been here for over a week - but I'm patient -LOL
6/22 - 182 - need to go food shopping today. I’m glad at least that it’s supposed to be a bit cooler - now I don’t mind using the stove because otherwise it makes the house too hot. Going to try to get some meals pre cooked and ready to eat for the rest of the week! Also have a doc appointment - my physical and get to see the results of my blood work. Hope you all have a Great Day.
6/23 - 182 - I feel good about my food choices and activity level.
6/24 - 182 - I was so tired yesterday I didn’t do any exercises. Hope to have my energy back today. Hope you all have a lovely day.
6/25 - 182 - I did get my energy back yesterday and did my exercises. My exercises are at least 30 min on the elliptical for cardio, and some hip strengthening and stretch exercises. Also kept to my calorie count. Have a great day.
6/26 - 182 - Hooray it’s the weekend! Hopefully we’ll do something fun/different today. I’m hoping for pool and outdoor walking (as opposed to indoor mall walking.) Enjoy your day!

- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Round 153 SW: 220.4 EW: 216.2 (-4.2)
Round 154 SW: 216.2
Day/Weight/Comment
6/21--215.6 Yesterday was warm out, so other than going to my trainer I didn't do much else. Yesterday was a high calorie/high carb day, so I won't be surprised if there is a tick up in the scale tomorrow. Back to regular calories/carbs today. Plan is to go out and take dog for walks while it's still cool outside.
6/22--215.3 Took dog out to the trails yesterday evening. It was warm and humid in the forest and instead of a 1mile walk, it ended up being a 3 mile walk. The ice cream bar I ate when I came back home was so good.
6/23--216.2 There is the uptick in the scale that I was expecting yesterday. Today is going to be a little cooler, so my plan is to go out for a long walk today.
6/24--216.2 Holding steady. Did not go out for a walk yesterday, by the time I went to sleep last night I realized that I had rarely been outside yesterday, work has been crazy. Today I am going to make sure that I go outside and get active.
6/25--214.9 There goes the drop from the uptick for the past 2 days. hopefully the drop will continue. Trainer day today.
6/26--214.5 It's going to be hot today. A friend and I are going on a road trip to the coast. I am bringing my puppy and this will be the first time she's seen any body of water, can't wait to see how she reacts.

Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
6/21 206.4 Walked 2 miles, gardening, ? cal, ? net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
6/22 206.6 Walked .6 miles, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF. Lawyer for my mom to update her will, book club, and packing for our trip! Busy day yesterday.
6/23 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis long car ride, no exercise, restaurant meals this week! ? cal, ? net carbs, 1 glass wine.
6/24 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis Walked 2 miles Garvan Gardens, pizza & 1 beer for lunch at Grateful Head. Cheese, grapes, nuts, 3 wine and leftover pizza for dinner as we watched the water activity, sunset and played dominos.
6/25 DNW @ Girls Road Trip w/ mom & sis Walked while shopping in downtown Hot Springs ~ 2 miles, ? cal, ? net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Latin food (wonderful homemade tortillas used for quesadillas) at Rolando’s on the back patio, then crab cake & fried okra at Fisherman’s Wharf. Too much food! Watched the sunset over the lake, played Skipbo & Spinner dominos on our last evening.
6/26 210.1 No exercise, ? cal, ? net carbs, AF. Whirlpool bath in the hot spring water, sauna and massage at Arlington Hotel before the 8 hour drive. Stopped in Jefferson at Kitt's Kornbread Sandwich & Pie Bar for Cornbread Sandwich (Turkey, Ham, Cheese, Purple Onion, Tomato, Mayo, Mustard on Jalapeño Cornbread ... also could have selected the Broccoli Cornbread or Plain Cornbread). In addition ordered chicken dumplings and sugar free coconut cream pie. Then DH had Popeye’s fried chicken waiting for me when I got home for a late dinner. YIKES! 3.5 lb gain over that short vacation! I did not snack with my mom & sister during the vacation … they eat ALL the time. But still the meals were a killer of course it was my choice what to order and I chose poorly. Time to get things back under control and reel the gains back in.

Previous Day's Comments6/21 - Wow, thought I'd be in the 150s again after this weekend. Super happy with this. Back to work so back to regularly scheduled life again. Water beside me full and ready for the rehydration process. Workout clothes on to knock out a workout. I'm still groggy and worn out so it'll probably be light as to not stress my body out. Dinner was late and I didn't check time when we finished. Will restart fasting after today when I end my feeding window for the night. Will fast today so long as I feel comfortable, though. Getting back on track and feeling tired but renewed to keep on this journey I've put myself on. PS - Even though I haven't been in the ocean since Saturday, I can still feel the waves if I sit really still. It's fantastic feeling
6/22 - A little progress is still progress! Got a little more than 90 oz water. Started fasting clock for today. Super sleepy still but going to make myself do kickboxing to help wake up before my training begins (9-2:30 behind a computer learning a system....yippee! Not so good when I'm feeling like I could fall asleep standing up). Doing my best to make it a good day, though.
6/23 - There we go, better progress. Got my kickboxing workout in though the walk with pup was cut short. Despite my super long training, I did get steps in and try to move around. Water was good. Maybe just a touch shy but we went out to eat and I'm not sure the exact oz measurement of their cups. Off to another good day. Dressed in workout clothes to start off with so I can knock out another workout (I'm dreading it but I know I'll thank myself after).
6/24 - Down we go. I HOPE I can see last round's "EW" again. Woke up an hour earlier than normal to knock out my kickboxing. BF will be up early for an early meeting and my day starts with an earlier than normal meeting as well. It was either get up earlier to knock it out or skip it today. I woke up early for a workout, WHO AM I?! In about 2 weeks I'll be waking up super early (4am...currently waking up normally at 6am) to physically go into work so I guess 5am today isn't so bad. It's prep for work! Fasted 16.5 hours yesterday, drank my 90 oz water. Got kickboxing and slightly shorter walk with pup done (0.75 mi vs 1 mi). Just finished kickboxing for today so time to wake up the daughter to see if she's running and get the pup for a walk while on my morning meeting
6/25 - Sodium, I believe. We had homemade nachos last night and tortilla chips usually do me in with sodium. Only drank about 70-75 oz water. Oh well, back on it today.

Thank you @quiltingjaine
5/10: 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)
Round 150: -1.9
Round 151: -2.0
Round 152: -2.6
Round 153: -1.6
Round 154 Goals: 80oz water; row 30 mins, most days; free-weights; eat vegetables/fruit; 1200 to 1500 calories; IF most days; no sugar; temporary elimination of wheat. Use the knowledge I've gained over the last rounds (and years). I know my triggers and I know what works!!
SW End of 153: 174.8
6/21 - 174.6
6/22 - 174.9
6/23 - 174.7 Hanging out around the same weight for 6 days just means I'll see a bigger drop when it happens, right? Right!
6/24 - 173.7 It's nice to see 173.X.
6/25 - 173.2 Hit my goal for this round even though it might fluctuate a little over the next days. I'm so happy to hit 173.2. This was my lowest weight on MFP and this challenge before I gained some of it back, stopped posting and then gained all of it back. Even though I hate to focus on a specific catch-up weight because it feels so defeating at times, I can't help it and it feels so good to be back at this weight. I am extremely motivated at the moment, not only from weight loss but the changes I'm seeing from all my healthy habits. I am now laser-focused on the 160's!!
6/26 - 172.5 - I was hesitant to post this weight because I'm a little late weighing this morning and it will most likely go back up some over the next few days, which will be perfectly normal. I'm not marking 173 off my "Good Riddance" list just yet

It’s a lovely, cool morning after heavy rain yesterday. Perfect for pulling weeds! 😎
6/22 - 187.5 - 1476
Another gorgeous cool morning. I pulled a ton of weeds & grass yesterday (I don’t use chemicals), and today I’m digging in my brick edging around my flower beds. Then mulch. Then a nice walk. Wishing you all a lovely day.
6/23 - 187.7 - 1502
I’m trying hard not to notice my morning weigh-in # — up a pound - and just watch my moving average, but it’s hard. I can’t understand why I’m up. Average (and daily) calories are down from past rounds, and macros are right on target. I’m getting plenty of exercise. But ok, my moving average is pretty steady, so I guess I’ll get a drop soon. Still, discouraging. No hugs needed, just venting cuz DH doesn’t want to hear it. 😁
6/24 - 187.8 - 1439
Most of the big garden work is done (for now), so I’m planning more time walking some of the lovely paths in our area. One goal is to walk all 27 miles of our Rivergreenway system (not all at once, although that would be a great goal, but not possible because it branches). Anyway, that, plus we have 3 state parks, a number of land trust trails, and other great trails within reach, and the rest of the year to reach them. Another goal is to get back to running. I ran a half marathon 4 years ago, but haven’t run for the past three years. Time to get back to that. And I’m considering whether I could get myself out of bed early to swim laps at the Y in the 6-7 time slot when it’s very uncrowded. Maybe… I miss the salt-water pool I belonged to in NC — I swam 20 min of laps 3 times a week and loved it. Anyway, attitude adjustment after yesterday. Onward!
6/25 - 187.7 - 1647
Rainy day. I guess I have no choice but to stay in and vacuum. Uck. I don’t know why we can’t have self-cleaning floors. 🤓 I might go walk laps around Menard’s for a while. 🏃🏻♀️
6/26 - 187.6 - 1663
Creeping, but in the right direction! I’m planning very low-cal meals because I’m making rhubarb-ginger crisp for dessert — one of my favorite recipes in my mom’s ancient cookbook. Mmmmm. I’m hoping to get a walk in between rain storms. It rained all day yesterday — garden is happy! Good day to yank up some weeds. Have a lovely Saturday, all!

06/20 …..200.2….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
06/21 …..199.0 ….. Happy tears here. Onederland! Truthfully, I won’t feel confident in Onederland until I am at 197 point anything (because gaining 2 pounds overnight is very easy for me). Grateful, thankful and staying mindful again today. I am not going to drop this ball!
06/22 …..198.8 ….. I am still on cloud 9 today. Thanks everyone for dancing with me yesterday. I kept the eating clean and the movement/activity steady. I rewarded myself with a couple of good classic rock songs to dance to.
06/23 …..197.4 ….. Although not planned, it ended up being a meatless day. I cut the IF short by 2 hours (14/10) and had spaghetti squash for dinner. Some dairy, very light grains. 50% more steps than the last few days and another 2 songs to dance to. I think it was quilting jaine that mentioned popcorn for fiber that she’s used in the past. I bought a box of 100 calorie popcorn and had my first one last night. Yummy and crunchy. I have now hit the short-term goal of 197 point anything which makes me feel firmly planted in Onederland. Dinner will be out tomorrow with my son but I will hang on for dear life to keep the scale in Onderland on the 25th.
06/24 …..197.8 ….. I don’t know how I could eat 1000 calories less than I burned and gain 0.4 lbs but I did. I don’t think I am retaining fluid right now based on yesterday’s meals either. In any case, I ended up eating 3 meals (including breaking my fast and having breakfast) because I was going to the hair dressers for a 3 hour appointment and am always worried about glucose drops when away from home. I kept it just under 1700 calories so I will call yesterday one of my higher calorie days to keep my metabolism in check. Not happy there will be 2 in a row including today when my son & I go on our planned outing. Now I must keep it more reasonable than originally planned, but it will be SO worth it. I want to keep things rolling while I am strong!
06/25 …..198.6 ….. Not too bad after 2 days of higher calorie and carb. Today I will be at home and my diet will be back on track. I consider these past two days to be metabolism re-sets. I plan on trying to get in more water and activity today too although we are expecting thunderstorms all day. I’ll work out in spurts inside. Burn baby burn!
06/26 …..198.6 ….. I’m surprised it didn’t budge downward as yesterday was filled with extra activity and calories stayed below 1350. No TMI is probably the reason. What a difference that makes! I am attending an outdoor wedding this afternoon in heavy rain and thunderstorms. We have a flood warning going on today. This should be interesting! Hopefully the scale won’t be too bad tomorrow.

Hi Sheila - Within this reply about the floors, I can't help but be curious to know about your travels or living in both Kuwait and Tunisia. I might have missed it before if you've mentioned this but would you mind if I ask about your travels? I'm sure there are many people here who have interesting stories to tell.... Thanks, Debra3 -

We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

6/22 210 Back from camping, hiking & exploring. Sad to say I'm up 3 lbs from the end of our last challenge. Back to it now that I've got access to my own kitchen! Although I left my trusty food scale back at my friend's RV. She'll bring it when she comes back to town this Friday. I may have to get another one, as it seems measuring and weighing my food really helps me stay accountable and figure out portions. Depending on that by sight....I'm not so sure!
6/23 209
6/24 207.2 nice to be back to preparing my own food & hitting the pool to swim laps! I feel heathier than camping & eating my sis in law's sweet foods!
6/25 208.6 midnight snacks weren't a good idea, but there's an overall downward trend. I'm beginning to think there's something to that Set Point Theory!
6/26 207.6 And I had a midnight snack of two bananas w/ peanut butter. At least it was a non sugar, non flour snack. I've gotta get to bed earlier to avoid the midnight munchies! On the good side- I've got my trusty food scale back from the campgrounds! Back to a total loss of 70 lbs, and 3.3 lbs for this challenge. Now to keep it that way!

My scale readings bounced up 4 pounds when I changed batteries, so I didn’t suddenly gain 4+ pounds. I didn’t want to write that down but, other than the horror of a heavier weight, what difference does it make? So I’m going with the new readings, dammit.

It’s a lovely, cool morning after heavy rain yesterday. Perfect for pulling weeds! 😎

Another gorgeous cool morning. I pulled a ton of weeds & grass yesterday (I don’t use chemicals), and today I’m digging in my brick edging around my flower beds. Then mulch. Then a nice walk. Wishing you all a lovely day.

Onward!

Rainy day. I guess I have no choice but to stay in and vacuum. Uck. I don’t know why we can’t have self-cleaning floors. 🤓 I might go walk laps around Menard’s for a while. 🏃🏻♀️

I agree about the vacuuming, especially with our kitty and the litter that gets tracked around. It would be amazing if everything could just be magically absorbed into the floor and be gone forever lol.
You can get automatic robot vacuum cleaners (both DS & a friend have one), but they don't dust or clean walls !!2 -
