Mostly cloudy, low 70s F, high humidity, and little wind. Woke up to a small thunderstorm that had passed by the time I went out to run. Both SI joints took turns grumbling, but nothing serious.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)

@skippygirlsmom that sounds like so much fun. I am currently still trying to build up endurance and stamana but doing something like that is definitely on my bucket list.. along side the grand Canyon one.5

Another refreshing rain run today! I only saw two other people. One runner, and a lady who walks her dog through that park every day (even in the rain). She asked if we were crazy or dedicated, I said both!
See everyone in July!8 -

91.65 miles for June. I found my goals for June. A goal was 100 miles and B goal was 85 so I was kind of in between.

Wow, June went by fast!
Met my main goal, but not quite the stretch goal. Had a good month. See you in July!
June Goal 100 miles (stretch goal 184k)

Upcoming races:
July 10: Pszczyński Cross 30k
August 14: Bieg Zbóju 25km (mountain trail, 1400m elevation)6 -
Finished up June with 5 miles of trail running plus a walk. Not too hot but very humid. My husband’s heart was fine although he got a little whiny about going longer than 5k. I told him if he needs to stop go ahead, but I am getting five miles, and he sucked it up and ran with me, and it was fine.
That’s June for me and it has been a heck of a month. Pleased to say that I did not skip any planned runs despite all the curveballs life threw at me. I know there are still tricks life could have up its sleeve - someone could die, I could have a lupus flare, an asteroid could hit the earth, but I’m holding out hope July will be a little more predictable and only terrible in the normal ways that running in July is always terrible.7 -

@polskagirl01 Good luck on your race! That sounds so fun. So glad you had a good race after last week's fiasco.
@Teresa502 That hammock camping looks awesome.
@katharmonic Sounds like a lovely weekend.
@rheddmobile I am glad you are doing OK and well enough to run. Glad your husband's heart is behaving as well.
@pfeiferlindsey I hope your foot heals quickly.
I had a great girl's night at the lake with my mom and sisters and daughter and nieces. My mom was totally surprised. She said it was the best birthday she ever had. I took stuff to run, but I ended up not running. We stayed up until 3:00 am and I was just too tired. But I don't usually run on Mondays anyway. So today I got out and ran 5.4 miles. It was raining when I got up, but had mostly stopped by the time I got out and it was warm and humid. I thought it might be a miserable run, but it really wasn't. I started out pretty slow but got faster as I went and ended up with negative splits. It was nice to have a good run after feeling so poorly last week. I am planning to run tomorrow, but I will still be a little short of my 116 mile goal. But I have met my usual 100 mile goal so I am ok with it.
2021 Races:
4/24/21: Run For The Children 10K PR 55:46:28.

@penguinmama87 Glad your baby is feeling better!
@Tramboman Glad nothing hurt too badly today.
@AlphaHowls With all of that running, do you have to buy new shoes every month?
@rheddmobile You are awesome. Glad your DH's heart was fine with a longer run. Fingers crossed that July is a LOT better for you.
Nice running in June everyone and congrats to those who met/surpassed their goal and to those who did their best despite what life through at them.
I did another treadmill run today due to the heat. Did the scheduled Foundation Run for 30:45 minutes (2.25 miles) and a one mile total walk for warm up and cool down. I didn't get much sleep last night because I had to be at work at 6:30 again this morning. I almost let that be an excuse to just do a walk today, but the run turned out to not be awful, so I'm glad that's what I chose to do.
I haven't had time to figure up my June totals. I'm sure that I met the walking goal of 30 miles, but am also sure I didn't make the running goal of 70 miles. I'll try to spend the time to figure it up tomorrow. Will also try to decide on a goal for July.

Tonight's HM/marathon group started with some very threatening skies. We all eyed them warily as we stretched and then it seemed like it was going to go by us. But we did get pelted with rain a couple of times during the workout. Which was not all bad given the humidity. But at least there was no lightning, which is the one thing the coach will halt all running for. The workout was 4-minute intervals x 6 with 2 minutes recovery after the first two and then 90 seconds between the rest. Followed by 4 sprints. We did 10 minutes warmup and 10 minutes cooldown which got me to my total of 5.5 miles.
84.6 of my 100 mile stated goal gives me a grade of B for the month in my book. I only did one run over 6 miles and that was my half marathon on the 5th. There was some hiking, some back pain, and some shin pain that all contributed to lower mileage. But on the good side I started doing speedwork again with the HM group training. I can already tell that's making a difference and my fitness had slipped quite a bit from lack of speedwork the last few months.
Great running everyone. See you in July.6 -
I’m very happy to say I surpassed my goal of 50k in June and ran 55k! I’m really shocked and pleased with myself and grateful to this group. I know I haven’t participated too much but I’ve been reading along and having you all here has kept me accountable and made this really fun! Thanks for running with me this month! Onwards to July 🎉 And congratulations on the fantastic mileage everyone!7
-
@katharmonic Glad you are enjoying the running group and feeling stronger already.
Great going @pabmac!0 -
Realized I didn't finish out my miles for June yesterday. With my power walk yesterday I actually made goal but was not even close to my stretch goal.
