Thanks for the support everyone. I live this morning mantra from the No Mud No Lotus book: “Awaking I smile. I have 24 hours of life to enjoy. And I will try to show compassion for all the beings I encounter.” I have been saying this daily in the morning while taking deep breaths. I’m noticing a change in my attitude! I think it’s a good thing. I can’t change my DH but I can change me. He is also starting to take a slight interest in what I’m doing to change myself. Here’s hoping!!

lisa - I was listening to a pod cast that touched lightly on Lyme disease and a few of the symptoms sounded like what you are dealing with.... maynot be related at all.... just a thought

Kylia-Something like that happened to me too with a mailed package. When I went to the counter to show them the package, which was clearly intentionally cut, he shrugged. I actually think you can and should file a complaint. I am sure there is a way to do it online, I just don’t know how.
Julie-The concert was pop, which is why I don’t have friends who care to go with me. I just think this performer will put on a great show. I need a teen or pre-teen to take. It has actually been postponed 3 times, as have several other concerts we had tickets to attend. It seems that everything is being scheduled in October right now—concerts, live theater, conventions! I wish they’d all spread it out a bit!
Barbara-The vaccines themselves didn’t really hurt. I just had sore arms for a day and felt tired. But, at least 2 of them are lifetime, so I won’t have to get them again. I’m thinking of getting one more before we go on vacation, but I wanted to spread them out a bit in case I had any significant side effects.
Resurgence-I don’t know what the numbers are here, but people are going along like there was no pandemic. I suspect they’ll start climbing again.
I’m struggling trying to heal my knee and hips. Physical therapy just seems to harm more than help. But because I’m having trouble, it’s hard to burn my 300+ calories a day in activity. I get bored walking the neighborhood and rowing for as long as it takes to do it.
We are going to a very “special” dinner tonight with friends at an Indonesian restaurant. It’s going to be stupid expensive, but hopefully a great experience. I won’t be eating much until then, but thankfully it’s an early dinner.
Have a great day.

Lime Disease is caused by a tick bite. My husband’s favorite cousin was bitten while he was hunting. Over time the bite caused serious problems with his ability to think and function. He passed away many years ago.0

Thanks, Kim - I went and looked up the symptoms, and you're right. There is a specific test for it, and I may ask my GP to submit it for me.3 -
Pip - Poor Yogi. Hope he's back on his game by tomorrow. Sweet pup.

I used to recoil at the area under the table!!!! Ugh. DDIL said she had to decide not to worry about it or she would drive herself mad.
Sooooooo glad you are getting some Athena time at last.
I gave DH his haircut just now. He hasn't been feeling robust just now with allergies and sleeping problems, so I decided to have compassion and managed to do it with good grace. It only took 10 mins, including ears and eyebrows. Now he looks smart for his sister.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxx
So true, she seemed very happy in her environment.👍💖0 -
Katla- I use local honey in coffee for the allergies. It works wonderfully! Couldn't have this morning until after blood work. Tasted so good when i finally got it!
Machka- work from home-good.
Reserge- not good. I take it people have been traveling again?
Back to work.
Australia's international travel borders have been quite tightly closed until recently when they started to open a little bit. We have quite a number of people who come here from all over Asia, including India, and even though there were still restrictions and quarantine, my understanding is that someone came in with Delta ... and Delta is faster spreading than previous versions.

Hope you ladies all have a wonderful weekend- heading up to mom's for the weekend- another weekend of planting. She doesn't know how to use the antique planter so I will do it- it was dad and my thing to do.

Hi everybody. Hope you have had a great day. It’s been ugly hot today in central Florida. I’m making sure to drink drink drink.

Did a DVD for the rebounder then went for my walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do the other part of the Leslie Sansone 5 Day Walk Fit DVD.
Katla – I know how much you’ll miss that boat, but it makes sense to sell it if you can’t use it
I signed us up for ceramics for next Wed. A few weeks ago I noticed that one person was already signed up even before the signups were available. The gal who runs it said that she preregistered someone who didn’t have internet access. Well, it’s only one person. Today I went to register at 8:45 and already 4 people were registered. I guess what I should do is next week stay up and see how many are registered before the registration opens.
Soup kitchen today!
Barbara – of course Consumer Labs is going to be slow to refund. The longer they have your money, the more interest they earn, even if it’s only a 1/100th of a percent. Glad you go it straightened out. We subscribe to CR, too. What does Niacimide do? Even tho I keep Coppertone in business during the summer, I do worry about being in the sun. Using sunscreen is not a guarantee that a person won’t get skin cancer, but it’s a help. I never heard of Niacimide for skin cancer
Made a chocolate pudding pie for Vince. He hasn’t had that in a while. Looks like after the soup kitchen I should go to Food Lion and get him some milk. Also, will go to the dollar store to get a container for giving our new neighbor something. I’m thinking that if that house continues to sell every few years, I’m just going to go over and welcome them and give them my phone number. This will be the last time I’ll make something since that house has sold something like 4 times in a matter of a few years. Update: didn't bother getting the milk. Also, decided not to even bother giving something to the new neighbor. I will only wind up doing it multiple times.
Rebecca – when the kids were little, I’d let the house be a mess with toys. Then, when they went to sleep, I’d clean up.
Went for my evening walk then played mahjongg by the pool.
Have a great evening everyone.

Machka - Edging toward shutting down is worrisome. Working from home is a compromise and I remember you’ve done it before. I hope things go well for you. :flowerforyou:
Rebecca —Three cheers for Athena time! I hope you have a good visit.
Have a great evening and rest well.

Its a nice visit but I tweaked my knee and it has a knot on the side. Dang it. Hoping roll on pain medicine will help it. I fell this morning! It was a silly thing, I was tying my shoes, leaning over and the office chair went out from under me and I plopped hard on my butt, my knee turned kinda crazy. Nothing is torn, or broken, just really sore.
Hugs Rebecca

Bee Keeping Refresher course today. There is so much to learn!! If all goes well, we'll get our hive set up in late winter/early spring (August/September)
Meanwhile, I planted another 100-ish bulbs yesterday so that bed should be pretty much full. There are over 300 bulbs in now but I'll have to wait till they start coming up in August before I'll know where exactly I planted everything!!
And then I'm going to seed over them with low-ish blue/purple flowers. I've got the seeds ready to go and would have to check the packets for the names. I'll seed them in about a month's time to allow the bulb plants a chance to get growing.
My plan is that when the bulb plants start to die off, these others will be coming on.
I've just taken over one bed, one large bed. My husband is still trying to do the rest!
Now I'm going to head out for a jog.

Michele from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotinamide “Skin cancer: Nicotinamide at doses of 500 to 1000 mg a day decreases the risk of skin cancers, other than melanoma, in those at high risk.” Nicotinamide is another name for niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3.

Had lunch yesterday with a few friends, we were supposed to be going for a coffee and a light lunch, but the cafe had to close due to someone being in contact with Covid. They were contacted on the track and trace and had to close the cafe quite quickly. We ended up at a nearby pub which only did meals. I asked for a children's portion but the jobsworth said I couldn't have it, it was only for children under 10. Overate on Fish and Chips, left most of the chips just ate the fish, but it was massive! Now if I'd had the smaller portion I'd have had room for an ice cream! I much prefer when going out to lunch to go somewhere where they have smaller portions for smaller appetites. I won't be going there again.
Whilst there I had a call back from my doctor, (I finally got around to calling for an appointment about my knee, and also because I have developed some unexplained bruising) he asked a few questions and then asked if I could go to see him straight away. I explained I was not at home and had no transport to get there but could see him later that afternoon, but he was too busy, have an appointment now for next Wednesday. Typical isn't it, if I'd been at home I could have easily walked or hobbled to the surgery.
Feel so tired this morning, I've definitely lost my mojo, so if anyone has any spare, please send some my way - thank you 😃
Take Care 💗

Hi all,
Going into hostess mode now!
Amazingly, for me, I slept OK last night. I thought I'd lost it at 4.20, but I went back to sleep. All those books I'm reading must be working!
I've hoovered the rug and cleaned the sink. Made a list. All is well. I am much less nervous than usual. Will get my exercises done this morning and then wash my hair.
Love to all and to Yogi. Stay out of the heat folks! We have hot weather this weekend. I might even persuade DH do get the parasol out. For some reason he is very resistant.

Rowing -- 14 minutes (2100 metres).
Weight lifting and Pilates -- 20 minutes.
