@dawnbgethealthy - Smoke is as dangerous as fire. I hope that you are safe and that the smoke clears soon!4
-
@globalhiker I didn't hear about the lightening. Thankfully there has been rain!4

Oh my goodness flooding and fires, smoke and lightening?! Nature has gone crazy. I wish all those experiencing these keep safe and healthy.
6 more days of July
NO ONE (Husband said culprit) is going to try and break my want to keep these last 6 days AF.
1) Me drinking with you does not make your life happier.
2) Refer to above comment.

Such stunningly beautiful photos @Stockholm_Andy. Guess I need to get to that part of the world.
We missed you to @lmlmrn.

AF today (didn't even have a drink to celebrate my personal best round of golf. That's a win!)
July totals
AF - 12
Drinks - 13
Only possible drinking day planned is Tuesday after golf.. Should easily have more AF days than drink days to end the month.
@MissMay stay strong! You have done amazing this month!6 -

No fire smoke here but I feel for you @dawnbgethealthy. Can you book a short trip, get in the car and drive far out of it for a few days?
Any driving in any direction would take me to more fires smoke within an 8-12 hour driving radius. No fire in this little city, but it is all around. Less wind today, so the smoke wasn't being blown here as much. Got some good hours in the yard on my bonus day off.5 -

My usual goal, 16-20 AF for the month. This is sustainable long term for me.
Still planning on hitting my 16 - even though I have mostly been 21-23AF each month this year so far.
Sunday July 25 - AF - Next planned drinks day is Wednesday.
Rolling total - 13 AF days out of 25 days4 -
AF this evening though DH opened one of my favorite bottles of wine to go with the salmon.
@MissMay - Joining you this evening!! Hang in there. You are so strong ... maybe one day I'll be there with you as well. Targeting my minimum 12 days then I'll see how the rest of the week plays out since we are headed to the camp on Thursday. Racking them up while I know I have more personal control instead of putting it off until the end of the month in that environment.
July accountability: 10/25 days AF
Alcohol: 15 days (35 drinks)
Goal: Limit 1-2 glasses per day; 12-16 AF days per month. Aim to drink no more than 2 nights in a row.5 -
AF this evening and hope to remain that way for the rest of the month.
I seem to be behind on posting! But have managed to read them all. So much going on with the fires, smoke, and then those beautiful pictures! I still need to share a few pictures with you, but I will have to do that another night.
July accountability 17/25 days AF5 -
@dawnbgethealthy & @missmay Thank you
@globalhiker that's Saltsjöbaden Grand Hotel, it was never a palace but was built in 1893 as a Spa Hotel by the Wallenberg banking family after one of the brothers visited Monaco and decided he wanted to create a Swedish version. I guess he didn't take into account the weather!
When King Oscar II opened it he had the entire Swedish navy turn up so they could fire off a salute as he cut the ribbon.

Hi all! Welcome back @lmlmrn ! @Stockholm_Andy it looks so beautiful there. Bracingly cold is a great way to describe the waters way north! I experienced the same thing in the Puget Sound near Seattle. Brrr!
Two glasses of wine with dinner the last two nights, but now back to AF for the week. My weight is creeping up again. I’ve been absolutely starving and tired lately, which I think is a lot of the scale creep. I am chalking it up to peri menopause rearing it’s head!6 -
Good morning/afternoon or evening LOL
So I got brave today and headed to the gym, not a heavy workout just some easy cardio on the treadmill. (I have a pulled groin muscle that does not want to heal). I had really high ambitions for today and they have gone out the window, so I have opted to do a little home tidying up and organization instead of mowing the yard. But thought I would share a few pictures from our Thelma & Louise adventure
Could not believe they had this at the restaurant
A face you have to love
Not sure the type of bird but heck it looked cool

@lmlmrn Wow--you really know how to pound beer! Thanks for the photos...glad it was a blast and no hangovers either!4

DH & I are both AF this evening.8

Sat- 3 drinks
Sun - 2 drinks
Tonight - Mon - AF

AF today
July totals
AF - 13
Drinks - 13
Due to the 100+ degree weather tomorrow I won't be golfing so no drinks there. We are taking my in-laws out to dinner and I believe my 85 year old father-in-law can no longer drink due to some meds. I think I will forgo alcohol in solidarity since I know my mother-in-law will still have a drink.
I may have one more drink day this month on Friday evening.6 -

Sunday July 25 - AF - Next planned drinks day is Wednesday.
Monday July 26 - AF - Finally finishing watching the Olympics' opening ceremony. Great! AF beer. I like it so much that I even bought real beer for drinks days, and had one last week. Who knew? I never liked beer before.

Thank you : - )
When there is no wind it is not too bad, the wind blows it in from all different directions - fires burning all around pretty much. I was able to get some yard/garden stuff done before and after work today as it was hazy but not as smoky (no wind).
The sun actually looks red with the smoke, but my photo doesn't show it as that colour.
The sky is like surreal. You can sort of see the purcell mountains towards Nelson, when the wind blows and the sky thickens with smoke they are imperceptible. This is the downtown area
The antique Rose bush doesn't seem to mind, I estimate that it has been there for 70 years.
Strawberries and Cilantro also don't seem to mind the smoke - the Dill in there is forming seeds and will spring up where ever the wind blows them to - like the Cilantro. No matter where it starts growing around the property, I still eat it lol. I get about 3 crops of dill and cilantro each year, and have strawberries in a few places that bear fruit from June until October.
