Darn right, I do!
No, seriously, I'm awful at accepting compliments, but thank you. I feel SO GOOD. It's weird as heck.6 -
Today the mobile vet came to the house, and we ended up doing exams on all three cats INCLUDING Sable the ninja cat who weighs 16lbs and HATES to be held. It's been three years since we were able to catch and hold her long enough to get everything done. Even the vet's assistant usually can't hold her because she's really STRONG and she wiggles like an eel.
So my NSV today was that I had the flexibility and arm strength to hold Sable in place during the whole exam and the vaccinations. It required repositioning her multiple times while she tried to squirm free, and I managed it easily. Interestingly Sable seemed to realize she wasn't going to win because by the end, she got tired and kinda gave up. (Don't worry, I wasn't squeezing her uncomfortably or anything. I know the proper techniques.)
On the downside, both Sable and one of my other cats (Chester) are now officially on a diet to lose weight. That means I''ll have to stop free-feeding them and establish mealtimes. I'm not looking forward to all the meowing that will ensue, but it has to be done. Meanwhile, my third cat (Sprite) needs to GAIN weight, so I'll need to feed her separately.
Guess we're ALL going to be getting healthy around here, felines included!17 -
Sorted my clothes today and put away everything that no longer fit. I won’t go shopping until I’m at goal but dang! If this isn’t a good representation of the change that has happened in my life, I don’t know what is. 54lbs gone, 14 to go!

My nsv of the day is definitely a mental one. I cried happy tears when my boyfriend handed me the box to something we ate so I could scan it! It's the first time anyone has done that for me and it feels amazing to have someone in my corner that much.26

I've put off buying any new clothes because I still have 30 pound to my goal, but I needed a few things. I've been wearing XXL shirts pretty much forever. A couple of the ones I bought today are L.25

I was able to put on a pair of tight jean shorts without having to struggle them up over my butt/hips! I could also button them without a fight!14

Week 2 of vacation—9 runs, walks, & hikes in 7 days, 3 strength training sessions, and two climbing sessions. The hikes and climbing were with my family, which I absolutely love—I never would have gotten to see these waterfalls and swimming holes as a child, bc my parents wouldn’t have been able to hike that far/that strenuous of terrain.
I started running one of the hiking trails and went from getting lost and not finishing, to a 16:33 min/mile over 4.6 miles to 15:22 min/mile (including all the walking up/down slippery parts, stopping at overlooks, and taking pictures). I absolutely love trail running—makes me feel like a kid. I’ll have to search out some trail at home in the flatlands now! I’m also seriously considering helping coach my son’s cross country team, which I never would have thought I could do.
Usually vacation means all the food and alcohol, but this time I felt fine I indulging when we ate out but being more moderate the rest of the time (instead of indulging at every meal because…vacation!). I actually lost a little over a pound, which is not usually my post vacation situation!

I've kept some old shirts that have sentimental value to me. One is a denim pull-over beach shirt my grandmother gave me when I was around 14. Another is a double-knit shirt my aunt made for me when I was around 22. They both fit this morning. I'm 65. Miss you both!28

I went biking today!!
My husband bikes and has always wanted me to do it with him. So much so that he bought me a bike several years ago even though I didn't know how to ride. I went out a few times, but the exhaustion and panic attacks were too much for me, so I quit.
Lately, though, I've been eyeing the bike in the garage whenever I come back from the gym. So yesterday I mentioned in passing that MAYBE I'd be willing to try again. Next thing I know he's got it spruced up and loaded into the truck! Guess he was afraid I'd change my mind if he didn't act fast, LOL. Truth be told, I probably would have chickened out except he was obviously SO happy. Since I never rode as a kid, I literally had to watch youtube videos before we left the house so I'd know how to start/stop. But I went!!
I only managed 4.25 miles before the heat (91F) and the hills got me, but I RODE A BIKE AND DIDN'T DIE!!!

BrightEyedAgain, that's awesome on your bike ride and very impressive to accomplish it with hills and in such heat.5

I took the kids running for their first time yesterday. We may have looked like goofballs but they learned a new way to relieve stress/coping skills and I have no excuse to not run. So I consider this my NSV of the week.16

Thank you @SwtHedgehog
Tomorrow my husband's taking me to the bike shop to get an Osprey water pack to help me with the heat. That seemed to be the biggest issue, and he thinks drinking more water and having the ice water pack against my back will help a lot. Makes sense to me, and I'm excited at getting "real biking" gear, LOL. I really BELIEVE I can become a person who bikes, and that's mind-boggling. But, then again, why not? I've recently become a gym rat and a swimmer, and I didn't expect that either, so the sky's the limit, right?
Oh, and to keep on track for the thread, here's another NSV:
I ordered a dress today for my 23rd wedding anniversary next week, and not only is it SLEEVELESS, but it's a Medium!! Happy Dance!! Between that and the Osprey, my gifts this year are totally different from past years, and I love that I'm officially someone who gets cute dresses and athletic gear as presents. Life is good!18 -
@dougwinings
What a wonderful moment!! To be able to wear those shirts again and honor the people you love. WOW!! Congratulations!!4 -
Last night I put 1 and 1/2 potatoes on my plate. I only ate the half, and helped myself to a second serving of peas instead!8
