Scale and non scale major victory:
Today after coming home from getting bloodwork (no breakfast) I weighed myself and I was 145.6!!! Now (according to the charts) I'm no longer overweight. I am exactly at the high end of normal. With a normal BMI. I may bounce up a little tomorrow, and when I go into the doctor post bloodwork on thursday that scale may be a little different. But, it has been six months since I started dieting after being diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure. I have lost Exactly 50 pounds. How weird and amazing that it worked out to be exactly that. I now have an A1C, that, while not perfect, is in the prediabetic range. And I hope to get it down to normal in another three months as I keep testing in normal blood sugar range. I hope to be taken off the high blood pressure medicine when I see the PA on thursday. (Never took any drugs for the diabetes.) I have to thank everyone on MFP who has encouraged me, and MFP itself, whose food diary has helped me be accountable and whose link with Fitbit logged my exercise calories. And Fitbit, whose trackers told me how many calories I was burning and how many steps I walked. It's been a group effort, and I am very thankful!!

Tonight I almost had a pizza delivered, but didn't.
I have been a little frustrated this week. I am trying to buy a washing machine off FB marketplace and it is not going well. One guy just stopped responding. The next one scammed me - luckily it was not too much money that I paid ahead of time. And the third guy (apparently) dropped the washing machine as he was loading it in the truck and doesn't think it will work now. 🙄 And also my bike got a flat tire as I was going home from work on Monday. Last night I had second and third dinner because I was having munchies - not a great choice 😐.
All these are first world problems, I know. My NSV is that I didn't buy the pizza and instead ate the sensible dinner I had planned.

I retired my largest size bras this morning. Now I'm wearing one size down in both band and cup. Woohoo!!

There are a few of us "has beens" that have been posting for a while now that have achieved weight loss success. The journey is different for everyone with one similarity.....throw the Calendar out the window. Dont lose weight for a special occasion because life is special enough. Do it for health and to enjoy the life you have now....for the thrill of settling and passing goals. Dont be afraid to go slowly.....be more afraid of standing still. My recent NSV.....my fingers actually look slimmer! I've been treating myself to a monthly manicure for 2 months now.

I went out after work tonight and did C25K even though I really didn’t want to

Blood pressure formerly borderline to high, occasionally very high. Today at my doctor's office? 118/62.

Yesterday I was hungry and made some poor choices, I went and bought food and had a later lunch than usual. But when I got home I recognized that I wasn't hungry and therefore didn't need to eat a full dinner. So I had an orange. I made a batch of fried rice to eat throughout the week and even though I sampled some, I didn't eat more than I few bites after realizing how delicious it was. The NSV is realizing I didn't need to eat a full dinner when usually I probably would have ("What if I get hungry later?").

I was looking in the mirror at the gym and even though I’m early on in my health journey, I feel like my face is already looking slimmer. My double chin has always made me self conscious and it’s slowly getting smaller!!

I treated myself to new leggings every five pounds. When I went from M and L to S, I gave all the bigger ones away to friends on this app and started over.
Even having given half away, at five pounds lost per pair , that’s a whole drawer full of leggings. 😉
when I reached goal, I treated myself to a pair of fancy fringed boots from Sundance- something I’d never do ordinarily. I had my eye on those for months.8 -
My "fat" pants are a little baggy. And normally when I'd be sitting at my desk, my stomach would be squished…not so much anymore. Thankful for a new mindset and dedication, along with support from my family 😍

@AnnPT77 Great job!
I honestly get a kick out of the "compliments" I get nowadays when they take my bp at the doctor's office. I know they keep expecting it to be high (since I'm still obese) but it's been normal for a while now 😎

I wanted to get some mermaid leggings from Lotus leggings but they are like $80 or something. Crazy.

not my NSV but I was overjoyed to share it.
In the dressing room a minute ago, a young woman was dancing , laughing, singing and preening in front of the full length mirror.
I knew immediately what the deal was, but she blushingly offered “I’m finally starting to see the changes!”Good for her! What a blast to share someone else’s joy !

@anxietyfairy sign up for their emails.
I get most of mine from Yoga Democracy. They send me emails and texts all the time about specials and closeouts, % off, etc.I also like Sweaty Betty. I bought some in London, and was shocked to see they were a third less on the US website. I think you’re outside the US. You might try checking other country’s websites, though you’d still have to cope with international shipping
I also discovered that certain brands - including Sweaty Betty and Saucony- seem to offload over runs or last years styles on to Amazon. There’s not a huge size selection by the time they get there, but I’ve gotten shoes for half the current model prices, and found SB as much as 75% off on Amazon. You have to be patient, though, and willing to check often and take last season’s fabric or colors.
And there’s always Poshmark. I loved K-Deer, but they went out of business. I was able to get some good deals on new with tag leggings there.
And OT, I got some expensive leggings from an outfit that touted J-Lo was wearing their products. I am not happy with the quality. They don’t wash as well, don’t pass the bend over test as well as my other brands, and they get stinky much faster than any other brand I’ve ever tried. I’m just trying to get my per-wear cost down before I give them away. Will be happy to see them gone.

Nothing major. I’ve found myself getting annoyed at my fitness watch during a workout because it kept sliding down. It is a metal one where you have add And remove links to resize and I guess I get to remove a link. Made me laugh that hitting my goals caused such an annoying NSV.

I hardly ever take my measurements but decided to recently. Turns out since last year I have lost 4” off my waist, 3” off my chest and 2” off my hips! 😄

Feeling defined bicep muscles (wow) and a slightly sharper jaw line! I got plenty of protein and carbs Friday/Saturday in the form of whole foods. Attempting to ease this current plateau at -25lb. Sometimes giving my body a little extra to work with seems to do the trick. Back on my regular meal plan today. Let's have a strong week! Good job on your victories everyone. 👏

I officially finished my first block of 16 weeks at a deficit! The NSV is that I stuck to it. I have a ton of other NSVs that I've posted about before, but short story is that I feel great. My nutrition has been really good and I feel in control. I'm looking forward to the next 2-4 weeks at maintenance to improve energy and get ready for my next block of 12-16 weeks at a deficit!
Also a couple people have directly stated they've noticed my weight loss, but I know that more people can tell because I am getting so many compliments on my hair 😂 I think they can tell something looks different and misattribute it lol. I'll take it though! I'm very flattered.

Yesterday, I wore a summer shirt I haven’t worn in months.
It has cute puffed sleeves with elastic.
Vaguely noticed my arms were irritated all day. I went to pull it off and realized the elastic had been pinching my biceps. 💪🏻

The hair compliments make me laugh. I think it's a combination of "something looks different but I'm not sure what" or "I know you've lost weight, but I don't want to make a big deal out of it so you don't think I'm being weirdly intrusive, so I'll compliment your hair"
Congrats on the 4 month deficit!6 -
Thank you! And yes I think you're spot on about the hair compliments lol

I sat up out of bed without using my hands/arms to push.

Not to sound anorexic (I am 30 pounds from even being close) but I am feeling hip and knee bones.

I had a fitness NSV today! I ran for 10 minutes straight and over half a mile. For an average weight (or taller!) person, this sounds like nothing but for someone who hadn't done cardio since being forced to in high school prior to starting to lose weight, this is huge.
