Good morning friends! Happy to read your posts! They always inspire me!
I have not gotten on the scale in two weeks- too scared!
I have been getting over 11,000 steps most days - one day of- this week. I walked 55 min on treadmill but my Fitbit has a hard time recording treadmill steps vs. walking on a path.
Today it's finally sunny here! So, I"ll go to the park.
Also, I'm working my way up to jogging. (so far 6 min. jogging ) I know I have to take it slow to preserve these knees.7 -
My name is Donna and I am 61 in May. I live in the Midwest of the USA. 5' 5" tall. My starting weight was 253. I have relapsed in the past year and need to get back on track. I am type 2 diabetic and in remission for breast cancer. Health is my #1 priority.
My goal in this challenge is to lose pounds and land firmly in Onederland.
I would love to join! Here are my weights so far:
Start Weight: 207.6
Goal Weight: 187.6
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)
Apr 01: 207.6
Apr 05: 206.6
Apr 12: 207.4
Apr 19: 206.0
Apr 26: 204.0
Apr 30: 206.2
May 01: 206.6
May 03: 207.4
May 10: My Birthday! 208.8 I am celebrating this upcoming Sunday with family. This new higher weight is from travel and bad choices. The buck stops here!
May 17: 206.8 I’m happy with this after multiple day celebrations. I chose better than I thought or it is going to catch up with me. We shall see which.
May 24: 210.8 Wow. 4 pounds in one week! Can you tell that my daughter and DGS moved back in? This is going to be difficult!
May 31: 206.4 Better than last week. I worked hard for it. Praying for continued success.
Jun 01: 205.6 A nice way to start the month.
Jun 07: 204.2 Clearly I’ll never make the 20 pound loss but a girl can dream, right?.....Onward for any progress this old girl can get. Good health is the overall goal and continued weight loss is a huge part of that plan.
Jun 15: 201.8 This has been a good week for me. I am down quite a bit overnight due to a very low calorie day yesterday. Today I will increase them but with all thoughtfulness to my plan.
Jun 21: 199.0 Onderland by a thread. I don’t want to drop this ball. I will focus in the short-term on getting it a little further away from the 200 mark.
Jun 28: 197.6 I had to cancel trip today. I was so sick yesterday evening and all night. A little better today but not 100% Possible gall bladder or diverticulitis attack, probably from too many almonds day before yesterday. Horrid pain. This is a big overnight drop on the scale. Probably from such little eating yesterday (it hurt too bad) and from dehydration. We’ll see what the next few days bring as this is probably a little lower than my weight realistically is.
Jun 30: 196.4 Back in the saddle and doing good. Feeling much better. Wow, the tummy pain was horrendous! I have no idea what was wrong, but I won’t be eating handfuls of nuts again as a snack! Weight has been going great. I probably lost the extra pound due to the 24 hour illness I had so we’ll see how it keeps panning out. In the meantime, I continue with good clean eating habits and try to stay away from sugery snacks! I am down 11.2 pounds since the start of this challenge. Pleased as punch!
Jul 01: 197.6 Scale shows an uptick after the low recorded weight following the tummy illness. I suspected that would happen. This weight is likely where I am really at. Now, time to get moving! I don’t envision myself making original goal but I can see myself making more progress. Time to make my vision a reality!
Jul 05: 198.0 Up a little bit after some travel. To make up for that, I didn’t let the holiday steer me off course. Working it back down and doing well with that. Today I will make another day count. Many very severe stresses this week. I can’t let that pull me down or swallow up my progress. Staying the course!
Jul 12: 195.8 It was a very rough and emotionally stressful past week and I do have a tendency to eat my emotions. I am so glad I reigned it back in and stayed diligent over the weekend too. I am kicking that Covid-19 shut-in weight to the curb. My mini-goal was to reach Onederland and I have firmly done that. My extended goal for this challenge was to reach 187.6 and I know that won’t happen. However, I’m proud of my progress. Today I feel strong. I really really feel that I am on my way to better health. I am thankful for this challenge.
Jul 19: 194.0 Proud of this number but wondering if it is fleeting. An extra low calorie day yesterday and a lot of extra burn washing down the outside of my house (hard work). I’ll hang on for dear life! Clearly I will not make my hefty goal but hopefully progress will continue through the final weigh-in.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I spent the weekend camping and was shocked to see you can camp without stuffing chips and cider in your mouth all the time. Had a great time and kayaked and swam a lot.10

Check In!
Recovery going well. Just got my staples out!
Still must wait for the incisions to heal completely before I resume swimming.
Calories: under or close to my calorie goal.
Activities: no swimming, no walking, no cycling, no weight lifting...
So I'm doing some other things:- moved my junk drawer from the kitchen to a side table with drawers in my living room, to make more room in the kitchen for all the kitchen gadgets.
- sorting through old financial papers, discarding what I no longer need.
- sorting through clothes that no longer fit, to donate to charity. (I don't plan on ever needing those sizes again!)
- now that my staples are out, I'll start playing the guitar again.
- got a list of books I can read!

I'm .4 away from the challenge goal weight so I view that as a huge success. I do find that the weight is coming off slower now than it did in the beginning, blah! I had hoped to reach 140 by July 31st, that's not going to happen but I'm ok with it. I'm feeling great and look better than I did at the beginning of March when I was 27lbs heavier. I still have about 20lbs I'd like to lose so looking forward to the next challenge!
I was able to paddle board and swim everyday while on vacation, as well as getting in my normal step count. I did eat and drink what I wanted on vacation but did it in moderation. I'm super pleased that I didn't gain any weight during the 1 week vacation at the cottage. That was a huge success for me.
I've been so much more active since I started my weight loss and it's definitely making me feel younger, not that I'm old at 51. Everything just seems so much easier now, even food choices. Thanks so much for the challenge!7 -

What a weekend! Both my boys played in provincial baseball tournaments. My oldest’s team won first place and my youngest’s team didn’t land a metal but sure played well. With that, many days of eating out and over doing treats. No surprise that it showed up on the scale. Back on track today with one more weigh in for this challenge!

Hi all, great job everyone...I'm in the same boat...I was up at my cottage last week and eat and drank a little more than I should have...down on my overall weight since Jan's challenge by 30 pounds, so I'm very pleased with that...As with anything, I allowed a few bad eating and drinking habits to creep in on occasion, but the great news as that I've learned how to get back on the saddle and be accountable, thanks to this group.

Hey all! I haven’t checked in since getting to my goal of 140. I’ve been trying to stick to my original strategy and just see where the number lands. Maintenance seems just as tricky as losing; I’ve been fluctuating 140-144. Guess I need to dig deep into my pocket of determination.11

@cpanus you are doing well! Even if you gained a few lbs., you have been working out diligently which is good for your heart. Your weight is at a very good level even in July!5

I have a sneaking feeling that for my final weigh in.....I may have gained. Had to quit smoking again 🙄 and I have been eating a bit more. Still, at my last weigh in, I had lost a total of 14 LBS since January 2021. I'm really pleased with that.
Wonder what I will weigh on Friday 🤔
I'll probably be similar. Since January I have lost and kept off about 11 pounds. But during this last challenge, although I have exercised regularly and effectively, I have not dropped any weight.6 -

Here is our new thread for the next three months. I figured out a 15 pound weight loss would be acceptable. One pound per week and maybe 2 lbs. for a few weeks. Whatever works for you, works for you. Start posting August 1st.
Reminder this Friday please post final results. We don't judge so post away.8 -
Great job so far everyone. It's the last 4 days of the month, we can do it!7

I am satisfied overall. Steady loss of weight since November. 16 pounds lost since November. My goal weight is 155 where I feel really good and healthy. Only 3 lbs. loss during the challenge parameters, but I'm ok with that.
