7/21: 59.3 kg - Currently on period so have been snacking often. This morning, I went on a 20 minute walk. Goal is to wake up earlier to have a longer walk in the mornings.
7/22: 59.6 kg - Not feeling so good about the weight gain. Keeping mindful of what I consume today and my exercise.
7/23: 59.5 kg - Going on a run in the morning and also an evening walk!
7/24: 58.7 kg - Happy! Played tennis with a friend and went for all you can eat sushi. Didn't eat anything the rest of the day as I was really full. Had green tea and lots of water instead.
7/25: 59.4 kg - Expected this gain from AYCE sushi lol. Hoping this week will be better!!
7/26 - Forgot to weigh in!
7/27: 59.6 kg - Had an evening snack (yogurt and granola, also craved some cheese lol). Happy with exercise today. I did a morning and evening walk (totaled 10,436 steps by end of day).
7/28: 58.4 kg - 😳 don't know how that happened, but yay! Progress! Getting close to the goal for this 10 day challenge. Feeling super motivated to keep active. 💪

7/30: 58.8 kg - 🙀🙄😭 Despite going on my evening walk (around 7k), I think the gain was from the carbs I had ystd. Going to be mindful of carbs intake today! Happy back to 58 range. Next goal will be 55-57 kg!6 -

7/21 - 245.8 (+.4) I’m actually up from yesterday, which is a surprise. I struggled eating enough because of my schedule. I’m really tired today and need to plan my meals so I get enough calories. Who would have guessed I’d have days when I didn’t eat enough? I worked out at Orange Theory Fitness so had additional calories I needed to eat to make up for the intense exercise.
7/22 - 245 (-.4) Yay! A little at a time. Today is my swim day. I love going to the pool.
7/23 - 244.8 (-.6) Darn! I was hoping for a bigger loss. Oh well, still on the way down. Swimming was wonderful yesterday. Today’s Orange Theory Fitness. I bought an Apple Watch and am curious to see how it syncs with MFP. The Olympics start today and I’m always so inspired by the athletes.
7/24 - 244 (-1.4) Now that feels good. Today is my weekly indulgence meal so the scale will be up in the next two days and then I hope to see it drop back down. I try to schedule the indulgence meal when I’m meeting a friend so it’s a double treat. I did close all my Apple rings yesterday on my brand new watch. I can see how this is motivational.
7/25 - 246 (+.6) I enjoyed every minute of my indulgence meal yesterday. Well worth waiting for. Today I’m hiking with my sister, which is always fun and beautiful. Probably my favorite exercise.
7/26 - 244.8 (-.6) Yesterday’s hike was 5 miles. It was beautiful and the weather was nice. That’s the longest hike this year. I’m definitely getting stronger and my endurance is improving. I can’t wait until next year’s hikes after I lose another 50+ pounds.
7/27 - 245.2 (-.2) Worked out at Orange Theory Fitness yesterday and had a busy day overall. I ate up to my total calorie level including exercise. I think I was kind of distracted while I was preparing and logging my foods for the first time. I need to make sure I’m logging accurately. Hoping for a better result tomorrow.
7/28 - 244.4 (-1.0) Bouncing a bit back and forth, but heading back down. Yesterday I swam at the pool. I try to get in around 50 minutes and am not taking as many breaks. It always feels good.
7/29 - 242.2 (-3.2) Wow! Yesterday was a low exercise day with just a half hour swim lesson. I did manage the exercise circles on my watch. I’ve been feeling a bit stuck but tried to refocus on the accuracy of my logging. I’m really relieved and happy. Happy dance!!
7/30 - 242 (-3.4) Excited…I’ll soon be in the 230’s! Yesterday was swimming and today is Orange Theory fitness. My Indulgence meal is tonight so I’ll be seeing a bit of a bump on the scale over the next few days.8 -

7/22 158.6 My Dad was discharged from the hospital, today. He s back in Rehab.... Ate a little too many calories, but it wasn't a stress binge. Just could have made wiser choice.
7/23 158.6 Didn't do great yesterday, but not too bad. Drinking my minimum water for me: 32 oz. (Better than only 8oz)
7/24 158.6 Surprised not a gain... didn't do well yesteray with eating. Met my water goal, again: 32 oz (Once again, better than the 8 oz that I had been doing for a long time). $ days in a row the exact same weight. I'm good with that cause at least I didn't gain. Just lucky, I think. Like most everyone else, need to reduce the calories going in... Today, I am planning my food!
7/25 159.6 Oy! But, I knew it was coming. I just can't seem to get a handle on the stress, y'all. I did so well, then I blew it. Let stress get to me & ate ice cream & jelly Bellies... like that will help reduce the stress... NOT! Just a momentary pleasure. Just feel like I should have some pleasure some time... but I MUST not do it in food form. I even got over 8,000 steps in, yesteday. And, planned my meals... but then just blew things.

7/27 158.6 my DS & his wife had a baby boy last night! So happy! I have my first Grandson. I now have one of each.
7/28. 158.6 yesterday, I got to hold my grandson for the very first time!! While holding him last night, I received a phone call. Two Covid cases where my mother is living. they both were vaccinated. I was just with my mother on Sunday. Uh oh. They did a rapid test on her and she is negative. They will be testing every day though, and there is Covid at the place. I won’t be able to see my mother now for quite a while. Until we’re sure we’re pretty sure that Covid is no longer there. As I want to be around my grandson if possible.
7/29. 158.6 my Dad turned 92 today. I feel very bad not visiting on his birthday. Instead, after work, my husband & I picked up supplies for our new grandson & his parents. Also brought dinner. They just came home from the hospital today. My DIL is recovering from the several complications that she had.

Even though I didn’t lose this round, I’m very happy that I didn’t gain!!!! It’s been an emotional 10 days & very stressful most of the time. Lots of work stress. Lots of happiness, too. So hate that I have to work right now! Wish I could be helping more with my son, his wife & baby.

OK, I am back from my trip and back on the wagon. Had a wonderful week in Frisco, Colorado. Hiking, biking, and fly fishing. Only got to fish one day before I hit the deck hard during a pickle ball game. Tripped on my own two feet and managed a three-point landing on my head, knee, and shoulder. Shoulder was too sore to fish after that.

7/21 165.8 -- Way up from my last weigh-in and feeling disappointed. I think it’s mainly water weight but I haven’t seen this number in over a year.
7/22 165.6 -- Still not great. I went running last night and didn’t drink as much water as I should have to recoup but did stay under calories for the day.
7/23 165.6 -- This is surprising because I had two beers and take-out after run club but at least it’s not a gain.

I'm doing a Spartan race next month and today there was a Spartan workout, so I spent 90 minutes working out this morning with a group of other people preparing to do a Spartan race. It was a nice change of pace.

07/21 …..193.4 ….. Wow! I didn’t expect this loss today. However, I am reminded that sometimes the changes take a few days to show up on the scale. Yesterday I upped my calories closer to my goal (a little low lately). I got in less movement with no planned exercise or walking but I did do yard work and stack wood. I would love to get to 192 point anything this round so that I could be within reach of the 180’s by next round. However, my goal is any weight loss at all (progress) so I am well on my way to both I hope! Good luck everyone on this round. Our goals are varied and so are our methods. I am behind you all and look forward to sharing our journeys.
07/22 …..194.2 ….. Dammit! I got really hungry last night because dinner earlier just didn’t satisfy. I ended up eating extra “diet” snacks. I was in the red by 199 calories. 0.8 which is concerning because I am having a long travel day today which will mean restaurants and sitting. I dread tomorrow’s weigh-in! On the good side – my trend weight is still going down. Staying grateful!
07/23 …..196.4 ….. After travel weight and also following a day of too many snacks. I will keep today very low calorie. I’m planning on moving a lot and sucking down the water!
07/24 …..196.6 ….. I ended up with a bit of travel yesterday for supplies for the reno. My handyman accompanied me and I bought us dinner out. I fasted all day and kept the meal reasonable. No TMI day 2 is not doing me any favors! Today I will try again for the lower calorie and carb day. Raining cats & dogs here.
07/25 …..194.8 ….. A nice drop on the scale after a low 1004 calorie day and very low carb-friendly veggies. Not much exercise yesterday, no enough water and very little sleep last night, but the efforts with my eating plan payed off. Today is an exciting day. My childhood best friend called me out of the blue yesterday. She has traveled to Michigan from Tennessee for a Memorial Service for an Aunt. She is going to meet me halfway from downstate so we can have lunch together and a nice visit before she heads back. Of course that means another restaurant and lots of sitting during the travel but I am thrilled to be able to see her. I will make up for any hits on the scale or waistline. I always do. Glad I had a drop today on the scale. That helps.
07/26 …..194.8 ….. What a wonderful day with my friend yesterday! It is so wonderful the connection that two people can have when they grew up together, on the same street, in the same school, in the same grade and classes. We see things the same way with all those shared experiences. Oh, if our children only knew what we know! Happy to see the scale did not move after the delicious lunch. However, we all know it can take a few days to show up so I am going to stay diligent today. Extra water too I hope.
07/27 …..193.4 ….. A very nice whoosh that I was not expecting. I stayed within calorie yesterday and got in some extra movement so I’m pleased it payed off, even after a couple of days of travel. I had what I think is a bat in my house last night. In my bedroom flying low under my ceiling fan over my bed. I have been up all night trying to find it. I opened the attached garage doors and I hope it flew out while I was locked in my bedroom with Pebbles. I can’t find it today but I don’t know where it would be during the day if it is still in here. Any advice is appreciated.
07/28 …..193.2 ….. A little TMI is good for the soul and the scale too. Going out of town today to a bigger town where they have car dealerships. I checked out their website and I think I found a used car that I want. Very nice. I have bought from this very upscale dealership before. They always have the nicest inventory. My son will accompany me and I will take him to a very nice dinner. I will likely be eating more sodium that usual but I will watch my portion control. Little things go a long way. No bat last night. Time will tell…….
07/29 …..194.4 ….. Expected after the travel yesterday. I will have leftovers today for dinner so I’m not sure how that will affect the scale tomorrow for the weigh-in. I will, otherwise, IF 16/8 today, push water, and watch my nighttime snacks. Signed on the newer used car at the dealership yesterday. I asked them to add remote start, change the grill in the front because I found a small crack in it although it’s never been in an accident (grocery cart?). They are also going to deliver it to me when all is done. That is great considering it is almost 100 miles away each way. Spoil me already! No bat detected last night before sleep…….
07/30 …..194.2 ….. 0.2 loss for the round which meets goal as my goal is to lose anything and keep progress continued. This round was filled with many sporadic days of travel which increased calories and carbs (restaurants) and limited movement (driving). However, I made my days at home count and practiced more control when away from home.

Really trying to focus on my goals this round, gotten a little lapse on my water intake. Also thinking instead of limiting alcohol, I need to instead be AF for the rest of this round. Having a glass or two of wine in the evening after dinner, pushes back my eating window for the next day with IF 16/8 & I really like to eat my 1st meal at 11 instead of 1 or 2 in the afternoon.

Enjoyed sleeping in a bit over the weekend, so didn't weigh Saturday & or Sunday, happy to see a loss this morning on the scale! Changing up my food plan for the upcoming few weeks...have 2 trips planned for August and would like to see a little extra movement on the scale before then. I've been consistently losing around 1.5 lbs. per round, would like to improve that to closer to 3 lbs. per round, which is still a somewhat moderate goal.

A little too low on the calories last night...didn't like last night's dinner, so didn't eat it. Scrambled to make something else but came in about 200-300 calories under plan and then IF window was extended to 9 p.m. Luckily not feeling hungry at all this morning, as I am now fasting until 1 p.m. Been working this week on mobility exercises only, but the lower temps today are calling my name for going for a run.

Made it 30 minutes passed my fast time yesterday! It seems a bit harder the later it goes but I just focus on the fact that it still the same amount of time fasting no matter the hour on the clock. So much easier to fast the majority of hours while sleeping than awake - lol! Closed my eating window on time last night so back to the regular fasting end time of 11 a.m. today.:)Not sure I will make my 3 lbs. goal loss this round, but should be close.

Previous Day's Comments7/21 - Still bouncy, that's alright. I imagine its lower water intake (65 oz) combined with my homemade enchiladas last night. BF and kids came home so I had dinner just out of the oven when they walked in and homemade brownies baking while we ate so they were fresh and warm for dessert. With all that cooking and baking, I neglected my water. Finished W1D2 of Zombies C25K and today I'll try some strength. I cancelled my 9Round subscription since I can't really squeeze it in enough with my commuting schedule to be worth the money. Will have to find something else. I'm sure YouTube has something for me to get me through.
7/22 - Finally hit my 90 oz water! Did a little strength workout yesterday. It wasn't much, but I am a bit sore today. It's a run day and I'm in my running clothes ready to go when it gets light out. I really don't want to but I know I need to. Back to work next week and I may only have 1 day I can run. Will put a damper on my training but I'm determined to run the full 5k in November.
7/23 - It'll go back up. Not enough water yesterday. Did, however, leave myself out of a Dairy Queen ice cream trip. I wanted it so bad, but I know what ice cream does to me and I forced myself to not give in. Run went well, really pushed myself hard. 7/25 - Expected. Concert Friday night, river yesterday. While at the river, my Godson ended up going to the the hospital and then transported to the transplant hospital diagnosed with RSV. Seems as though he's doing alright considering it's only been 6 months since transplant, but staying until Wednesday for observation. Hectic weekend thus far. Battling a migraine yesterday that has lasted through to today. Hoping something will finally give in a relieve it. Not sure plans, exactly, a few ideas have been tossed around. Drinking some coffee (maybe it's caffeine withdrawal?) And back to my water.
Also, back to commuting tomorrow so, depending on my timing in the mornings, I may or may not be able to post. I'm still here! I'll be back Friday on my day off at the very least (:
7/26 - The remnents of the weekend still slowly showing up. Didn't quite get my water in, but did try to drink it where I could get it. I'd estimate about 60oz. Pizza for lunch on the go, had to get out of house since last full weekend with kids for the summer. Off to work today, hopefully I'll get some kind of activity in, even if it's just walking.
7/27 - And a whoosh back down. Quite a bit of water considering my commute. Got my Fitbit step goal (7225) and kept snacking to a minimum. Today will likely be less active but I'll figure out a way to move. Absolutely exhausted since kids were yelling and screaming while I was trying to sleep... running on 4.5hours of sleep for the second day in a row. Hopefully tonight will be better
7/28 - Dinner was salty and only just over 60oz water. Slept better, found some squishy earplugs that don't hurt to sleep with. Of course kids decided to stand outside my bedroom and scream at each other just as I went to bed so I screamed right back. At least they got quiet after that. Today I don't expect too much movement so will try to get up and walk around periodically. Things will calm down once this becomes routine, though.
7/29 - Godson back from hospital and feeling better. What a fighter. Had dinner with Fam. It was late, I scarfed it down and was in bed within a half hour. Not exactly ideal, I hate eating right before bed, it makes my tummy hurt (and sometimes heartburn which I luckily avoided last night) Not quite enough water (65oz) but I'm already waking up nightly in the middle of the night to use the bathroom because of my water so I'm not quite sure how to overcome it. I'll figure something out in time. Hopefully tomorrow I can catch up on everybody's posts. I can write mine, but can't really read other's journeys.

Restarted my 16:8 IF Tuesday with 3/4 fasting of 1,000 calories. I don’t ban any foods/drinks but I do limit within my normal daily calorie target of 1,450. I find if I am too restrictive I give up quickly.
Target 1.5lbs per week until my clothes fit well. Also trying to exercise min 30 minutes each day. My weight is less important, what is important are my energy levels and measurements.
It’s not unusual when fasting to drop weight at the beginning. I am not expecting any more loss this week.

@schmoyew Don’t think of it as “starving.” Think how STRONG you are to do this little intermittent fast. A few hours, then a few more, etc. It’s so good for our body to not have the insulin spike then drop every few hours. It sounds daunting but you can do it.3

Just realised that I have been in Maintenance for over 2 years.
I checked my Smart BMI reading and was advised that I was at an optimal weight.
My scale shows that I am in the normal range for Muscle/Fat %ages.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
