@schmoyew Don’t think of it as “starving.” Think how STRONG you are to do this little intermittent fast. A few hours, then a few more, etc. It’s so good for our body to not have the insulin spike then drop every few hours. It sounds daunting but you can do it.

I was after an elusive 85 lbs loss 😂 but 83 will do me fine.
Just realised that I have been in Maintenance for over 2 years.
I checked my Smart BMI reading and was advised that I was at an optimal weight.
My scale shows that I am in the normal range for Muscle/Fat %ages.
    Not bad for a Septagenarian.

    😷Take care! Stay safe!😷

    July focus:
    • maintain weight < 150 (I have been maintaining since July 2019)
    • Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale

I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180's; 170's; 160's; 150's;
    140's; 130's
    Aims:
    2021 Focus:
    • Maintain weight < 150
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

Never give up! Never give in!
    Recent Back Story:
    • 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
    • 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
    • 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
    • That's a WIN in my book!
    • 2021
    • Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
    • (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

    SW: 177.4
    Challenge Goal: 175.4

Adding my Happy Scale Trend because these fluctuations are messing with my head. The trend gives me a better view of my overall progress.

    Day/Weight/Comment
    7/21-177.0, Trend 178.1
    7/22-178.0, Trend 178.1 😔 I thought I did so well yesterday...
    7/23-176.6, Trend 177.8
    7/24-177.0, Trend 177.7
7/25-178.8, Trend 177.6. A couple of busy nights at work. I cant figure out why I usually gain on work days. I know its water retention but have no clue how to prevent it. I eat the same and get more steps, but I get home and my lower legs are swollen.
    7/26-178.2, Trend 177.6
7/27-176.4, Trend 177.4. I wish I could take credit, but alas I’m doing a colonoscopy prep.
    7/28-175.6, Trend 177.2. See above 😉
    7/29-177.0, Trend 177.1 ...and the rehydration bounce😬
    7/30-178.8, Trend 177.4 🤬
    7/31-180.0 😥
