Row every day for at least 15 mins for all of August -starting 1st Aug

Hi I have a lot to lose and just starting out. I love rowing and want to motivate myself to keep going this time and succeed. I row about 3 to 4 times a week at the moment, however I want to push myself therefore:
I am going to start a personal challenge to row daily for at least 15 mins per day for every day in August. Would love to have some of you join me. I need to be accountable and start a new me that will do this for years to come.

    My rowing is very sporadic at the moment, but only 15 minutes a day is very reasonable. I can't promise it will be daily for me (I already missed August 1st since I only saw the challenge the day after :smile:) but certainly more frequently than now.

    August 2: 15 minutes - 2595 meters.

    I missed yesterday but got it in today.
    August 3: 15:05 minutes - 3129 meters.

    so I am working at 2000 m and reducing my time, 1st august i rowed in 13 mins, 3rd i did it in 12 mins. could only get to the gym every other day as also training for a bike event in September also! good to see others on this journey with me ..lets do this

    The weather is nice right now so I headed out on the bike yesterday. Back to the rower today.

    2000m s/m 27 13.37 mins then I am also training for a bike marathon through September which is 300 miles in the month, did 5 miles today in 30 mins

    Thank you, Margaret! If it were Winter, I'd be all over this. Since it's summer, I rarely touch the machine, rather rowing around 7k on water 4 days a week, when weather allows; and I'm not sure how I'd count those here anyway because they're multi-person boats.

    Other folks here: In case you don't already know about it, and if you got in 10K during August 1-7, are rowing on a Concept 2 machine, and might entertain an increasing challenge, I'll point out that the Concept 2 Dog Days of Summer Challenge is also happening now. More info here:

    In brief, it's:

    Week 1, Aug. 1–7: 10,000 meters
    Week 2, Aug. 8–14: 20,000 meters
    Week 3, Aug. 15–21: 30,000 meters
    Week 4, Aug. 22–28: 40,000 meters

    You'd need to log the meters in a logbook there.

    It's about the only challenge they do all year where both machine and on-water meters count. I've done it some in the past. At my usual schedule, week 1 and 2 can happen via usual on-water meters . . . then it gets challenging 😉.

    They have other challenges over the course of each year, of varying difficulty. Can be a fun motivator!

    Interesting, but perhaps a bit too ambitious for me on the later weeks (trying to combine with running and strength training) 🙂
