8/10 209.2
8/11 210.6 Wow, yesterday afternoon I swam, did water aerobics, hit the jacuzzi, and sauna. I came out of the Y famished, and ate everything in sight! I had brought healthy snacks, but the Y staff had set out lovey treats for us. I indulged. Hopefully some of that weight is muscle mass. Otherwise I'm going to have to rethink what to eat post exercise. Yea, I know, my weight is supposed to be going down, not up. Although I've noticed that there's a range around which I tend to weight-up or down a couple of pounds

• Smart BMI - optimal weight.
• Muscle/Fat %ages in normal range
Just because Covid restrictions aren’t compulsory doesn’t mean they’re not necessarily. People are still dying out there………
😷Take care! Stay safe!😷
August focus:- maintain weight < 150 (I have been maintaining since July 2019)
- Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Aims:2021 Focus:JGM10D ~|~ Round 159 🔹Posting weight and comments each evening.- Maintain weight < 150
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

@quiltingjaine Thank you for sharing the article about snacking. Hopefully a couple things in it will stick in my brain. Will try to sneak in some movement before I reach for a snack. My ideas are: a couple stretches, squats, jumping jacks, a few kicks, a few punches, march in place, drink of water. Things I can do in my office at work. Maybe even some back exercises.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/10 159.8 I can & will do better! Yesterday was not a terrible food day, but wasn’t good either. Could have been worse, so did have some restraint on myself.
8/11 159.8 did better but will see tomorrow morning. And tomorrow is another day. Lol.
8/12 159.2 again, did much better than I have been, but not really enuff yet—I don’t think. I did remember the article that @quiltingjaine posted the link to re: snacking while I was at work. I did add a few more sips of water before reaching for snack candy. Also, did not have any snacks at all at home last night. None. But didn’t measure my amount of 1% milk & the Hershey’s chocolate syrup that I drank with my dinner last night. Chocolate milk was scheduled but only a certain amount. I got lazy. What an idiot! Lol so we’ll see what happens when I weigh in the morning. Lol
8/13 159 I guess not bad after yesterday. And forgot to mention that my sweet dog had a big seizure that I woke me yesterday morning. She’s still recovering from it. Needs assistance standing when not on carpet. Poor baby. Her condition improved as the day went on yesterday. But for a few hours afterwards she was very disoriented & bumping into walls & things. And my Mom had a slow motion fall yesterday even with a caregiver. New caregiver wasn’t trained or updated on her condition (poor mgmt & training/communications at the ALF) & wasn’t prepared. Supposed to have supplies ready before getting residents up & don’t leave a resident alone on toilet when they have dementia & can’t walk. So a very stressful day yesterday. Plus extra stressful events at work yesterday. All in all, I did pretty darn good! Lol
8/14 159 did ok yesterday.
8/15 159 diet was pretty darn good yesterday. Stressful day tho. Caregivers obviously forgot my mon yesterday. I had to call the ALF for them to get her out of bed. Of course, their excuse was that they get her up later as that’s what they usually do. Well, 11:30m for her to leave the room is way too late & besides they usually get her up at different times ranging from 7:30am to 9:30am. Plus she usually has morning meds with breakfast. Wtf. My dog had another seizure yesterday. She’s not doing well. My Dads eye infection was much worse. Just not a great day fir me, a gain… Today is a new day!!!!!!!
8/16 158.8 Did pretty good, yesterday. Normal work stress. Was awakened by SNF calling re: my Dad -- at 5am. He required wound care at that time... ghah! Then, noticed that my Mom was having an issue at the ALF. She can't walk anymore & has to be in a wheelchair, but she had gotten herself to a sitting position on the edge of the bed & was trying to get up. A caregiver finally went in there. (Motion sensors alert the caregivers on their pagers...) Luckily she arrived just in time to help my Mom, so no fall, thank goodness!
8/17 158.2 Did well dieting yesterday. At work this morning, got a terrible no good migraine, wasn't sure if that was all it was since I haven't had one this bad in so long. Was nauseous & had chills, felt incredibly tired, sneezed 6 times in a row & ended very congested. Had to call my husband to come help me at work. My co-worker was kind enough to offer to help when he saw me lying on the floor in my office. He's such a sweetheart. He brought me cold damp papertowels to put on my head & neck. My husband came & helped me do a Covid test -- thankfully negative, no fever, O2 was good, pulse was fine, Threw up, Gradually was better. Stayed at work & when better actually got work done. I haven't had a migraine like that one in a very long time... a couple years! Used to get them very often... they're in my family. Only 2 of my brothers escaped them...
8/18 157.4 Yay! Yesterday afternoon, my sweet dog had another big seizure. She’s been bumping into things & very discombobulated since then. Actually since the first one last Thursday morning… so hard to watch her like this. Having to help lift her to stand & walk. Sitting next to her on the floor. Holding water bowl for her. Night & day since Thursday. My sweet wonderful puppy

R159: Time to make some progress and strive for <200 in August! Quit this yo-yo cycle. Lots of event challenges this round that include food & wine! Wedding shower, 2x book clubs, ZTA alumnae kickoff.
🎯Mini Goal: <202 (Repeat until I hit it!)
Exercise Goal for this round: Bike, swim, and strength class once per week. Walk the dog 100 miles in August!
Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
8/10 202.4 Walked 3.1 + .6 miles, Strength Class 1 hr, 1678 cal, 91 net carbs, AF.
8/11 202.2 Walked 3 miles, Bike 30 min, 1415 cal, 83 net carbs, AF. Started planning a road trip for October up to TN & NC! Ordered a couple of new pairs of shorts and a swim suit since both are falling off me … which doesn’t work well when going to the strength training class or swimming laps.
8/12 202.1 Walked 3.4 + 1.3 miles, 1588 cal, 137 net carbs, AF. More planning for our trip this fall as well as making plans to remodel & repair our home.
8/13 202.0 Walked 3 + 1.3 miles, 1537 cal, 107 net carbs, AF. Switched up my daily nutrition goals and target calories. We’ll see how this plays out over the next week. My new bathing suit from Lands End came in yesterday! The size 16 fit! Yeah! I can get rid of my 1x & 2x bathing suits and swim laps today without flashing anyone. 🏊♀️
8/14 201.6 Walked 3.3 + .7 miles, swam laps 400m 20 min, treaded water 7 min, 1543 cal, 85 net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
8/15 202.0 Walked 3.2 miles with my DD & her dogs, 1808 cal, 100 net carbs, 1 glass wine. In the red calorie wise so not surprised by the uptick on the scale. Wedding shower which included cake then my kids came over for dinner. Definitely what I would call a food day though I spent most of the time talking to friends and family.
8/16 201.8 Walk 3 miles, Bike 30 min, 1325 cal, 113 net carbs (biscotti at breakfast & rye bread on sandwich blew my carb budget today), AF.
8/17 202.9 Walked 3.4 miles, Bike 30 min, 1514 cal, 95 net carbs, AF. Book club. Chose wisely at restaurant (chicken kabob, tomato cucumber salad, 1/2 cup rice, water) and still got a bump up. This was the easiest restaurant for the week to plan & execute. First of 4 nights out. Hmmm
8/18 201.6 Walked 2 miles, Strength Class 1 hr, 1049 cal, 78 net carbs, 1 glass wine. Evening event where my dinner consisted of a few appetizers … mini crab cakes & pot stickers.
8/19 202.9 Walked 3 miles, 1321 cal, 110 net carbs, AF. Uptick from pizza & tacos? Woke up thirsty with a salty taste in my mouth.
NSV: Vanity sizing probably but I ordered pants and shorts for walking in a couple of different sizes along with the new swimsuit from Lands End. I’m sending back the XL pants & shorts and the 18 swimsuit! Keeping the L and 16. 😊 That feels good.
A bump back up on the last day but still a little down overall. I had glimpses of 201.x during the round too!

Day/Weight/Comment
8/10 - 251.3 Slight uptick today. We had alfredo pasta for dinner so probably some water retention. Also didn't run this morning after sleeping in. I always find the last pound getting to the next decade harder than any of the pounds in the middle.
8/11 - 250.2 SO CLOSE! 1 pound away from being 50 lbs down. Less than a pound away from under 250. Got in a short run this morning before work, doing a longer one tonight to see if I can see 249 on the scale tomorrow. Crazy to think that the start of round 159 will be on the 4 month anniversary of starting this and I could be down 50+ lbs. Really giving me that extra motivation I need during this period of 11+ hour work days!
8/12 - 249.8 Out of the 250s which means half way to the 100s. Also, this takes me out of the Morbidly Obese BMI and into just Obese. I'm just obese! The scale was teetering this morning between 249.8 and 250 but I gave it a death stare to get under 250. Did a short run again this morning but our A/C is broken... again, so that took up my morning.
8/13 - 250.7 Not really surprised by this after a stressful day dealing with the A/C and work. Had a high salt dinner so I expected a bounce up. Ran 2.5 miles this morning, though. I feel like the last week or so was a linear downtrend in weight so this is just normal life. Expecting a drop this weekend per usual.
8/14 - 251.1
8/15 - 250.2
8/16 - 247.4 The weekend drop strikes again! I was honestly surprised with the weigh-ins on Saturday/Sunday because of how much yard work I had to do this weekend. I spent almost 2 hours yesterday pulling up a patio and moving bricks across the yard. Now that I can officially say I'm 50 lbs down, the next goal is 60 lbs which is 1/2 way to my goal. The small goals like this group keep me motivated along the way!
8/17 - 246.9 Nothing really motivational today, because I'm really tired. I spent my morning shower thinking of what my next goal is after 60 lbs down because I've been so focused on that for 4 months. Long term I think it'd be cool to be down 100 lbs by Christmas but I know the weight loss is going to slow down so I don't want to pressure myself. Ran 2.5 miles this morning pushing through my exhaustion!
8/18 - 248.0 Well then, scale... Not exactly sure what this is about. I feel like I didn't even consume 1.1 pounds of things yesterday because I was caught up in a work project and forgot to eat/drink. Oh well. Lots of water today and hopefully finally getting a good night of sleep tonight.
8/19 - 249.1 I don't even know what to say... not the best ending.5 -

Round 159
Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
8/10: 208.2
Trying to establish a new base of operations near 207. Like football (American), I want to establish better field position on the opponent. I have been on the 210 yard line for too long. I want to be in a position to win the 4th quarter (of 2021.) For a change. Hike!
8/11: 208.0
I was kinda hoping for a better drop. Calories on-point and a huge exercise session in the spinning class. But hey, a drop is a drop.
8/12: 207.4
Did my mowing in the thick air last night. Clothes drenched. I do love this time of year though.
8/13: 207.2
Doing a lot of reading lately, which gets in the way of moving. (and eating)
8/14: 209.6
8/15: 210.2
That fish fry / potluck Friday night put a hitch in my get-along.
8/16: 208.2
Welcome to my roller coaster.
8/17: 208
8/18: 206 (my average for this round is 208.1 and my past-ten-day rolling average is 208.2. Yes, I keep a spreadsheet going that calculates all of this )
This is welcomed because today is DW’s and my anniversary. 42 years. Could mean some kind of higher calorie indulgence today. 😊
8/19: 205.8
Ending this round on a very happy note. I missed by Major Goal by “this much.” (Maxwell Smart reference?) But I smashed my Minor Goal. And, I kept it generally under control. I can see my maintenance range on the horizon.

8/19 - 146.3 - A smaller drop than I'd like, but a drop nonetheless. Feeling rather bloated, though. No TMI might also play a part in bloated feeling as well as weight. Went for a mile run this morning. Ankle still giving occasional painful twinges when running so taking it easy. I'll be commuting next week so no running until likely Friday (assuming I can convince myself to get up early enough to beat the heat). Trying to run a little this week to maintain progress. Got all the things for next week's lunch and divided it up. All I'll have to do is whip up the main dish and pack it. Talking about possibly going back to the land to keep working which will be good manual labor (hello accidental workouts!) See y'all next round!
Previous Day's Comments8/10 - A little drop off. Still look slightly bloated, but much much better than yesterday. Slow on TMI these past few days, guessing to do with bloating, so hopefully once things get going along, weight will go with it. Water wasn't ideal, estimating 60oz. Went on a run but had a few stops along the way. The pup got to meet the neighbor pup and I got to finally officially meet my backyard neighbor (rather than waving across the yard). Said hello to the sweet old man at the end of the street as well. Truly enjoy chatting with him. Pup couldn't keep up on the last 8min free run so I dropped her off during the 2 minute break between free runs and finished the last by myself. Walked the last 2 minutes (ran 6 mins) of that but it warmed up real quick once sun came up and I was struggling with the heat. Maybe I need to suck it up and run earlier when it's still a tad darker (still very visible, just early dawn).
8/11 - Shocking as I didn't track my water. Decent amount, but not quite goal. Also shocking, TOM hasn't started yet and I can still see some visible bloat from it. Maybe more will drop off when that happens?! Not getting hopes up too high since this is such a huge drop, but hey, it's possible. TMI finally back to normal (of course, after weigh in....) but at least my body is back to chugging along. Speaking of chugging along, did another run today. Whew, I didn't want to. Told myself I have a choice: run today and choose either tomorrow or Friday (my day off to sleep in) to get at least 1 more run in or DON'T run today and HAVE to run on my day off (meaning getting up early enough to beat the worst of the heat). Yep, I ran today. Managed to go slightly earlier so didn't get the sun until the last 8 min free form run. Managed the full run since I didn't get too hot until the very end (last 2 minutes I could push through). 90% humidity is NO JOKE! Next run will be challenging. 15 min run at the end! Eeek. 8 minutes was bad enough. But a lot more walking at the beginning so hopefully I'll have good enough timing to drop pup off between the intervals and the free runs. Should also give pup a good walk in before I drop her off to do the free run. Two birds, one stone!
8/12 - Typical bounciness, not worried. Still no TOM. Found out today that starting Week 4 of Zombies, Run! you have to pay! Ick. I may just do it, I haven't decided yet. I do want to know how the story goes, though. It's $5.99/mo and I signed up for a 5k on Oct 30th now (virtual as a benchmark for the in-person on Nov 20th). It's only 8 weeks and I've completed 3 so far so I will only need it for maybe 2 months (depending on how work commute goes -- so far I'm staying home for a couple weeks and can run). I did run 1.5 miles continuous today instead. Figured that's half of what I need to run so it doesn't hurt to see where I'm at. Plus, before I started training, I struggled so hard to run just 1 mile. Showing improvement already! Side note: there is a Guiness World Record attempt on Sept 19th for a 10k. I know I can't run the entire thing, but I can run a good chunk of it, I think. Especially with a little over a month left to train. I signed up because if this ends up being a world record, I can say I am a part of Guinness World Records. How cool!
8/13 - TOM is here, finally, and some relief from bloating. Heavy dinner last night, though, which offset some of the bloating relief. Ran 2 miles this morning and did a super hilly road with Fam. We all needed each other to go so we could motivate ourselves to get out of bed. Once we started running, we all separated. Wowza that sucked, but I pushed through! First time running 2 miles straight since I was in the army. Trying to get prepared for the 10k to run as much as I can. Don't think I'll go from 2 to 6 miles in a month, but it'll also help me with 5k training, too. Plus, if I keep running hills like that, I think the mostly flat surface for my races will be that much easier! Goal: complete the 10k whether I walk or run. Run my 5k in October (in full) and beat my October 5k time (and hopefully become my PR) come November for the in-person race! Drank a little over 90oz but I was super thirsty last night. Think I need to up water more on days I run. Can't tell if I'm truly sweating a ton or if it's the humidity (90% plus every day)
8/14 - Sodium (tried a German restaurant in town. THE BEST. Hadn't had it before), not quite enough water (about 70oz) and no TMI. Tad bit bloated, but seems to be getting better as day goes on. Finally got my hair cut today. Haven't had a trim in almost 2 years now! It desperately needed it. Trying to grow it now (it's to my belt) but the dead ends were going up the strands. Had to take about 2 inches off to get all the dead ends before they kept breaking off the rest of my hair! Feels so much more healthy now, though. No more straw-like ends, yippee! Was also told my hair is suuuper healthy for as long as it is which made me feel better. I do try to take care of it as best I can and keep it healthy. Healthier = longer to me. Glad I could get in before she had to cut more off to save the rest. The kitty I rescued (with my parents) passed today. It's been pretty rough since I haven't been able to see her for almost 3 years. Between transitioning out of the army and COVID, she didn't really know me. Probably won't fully hit me until I go home next and she's not there.
8/15 - DNP
8/16 - No hugs needed. Was out working land yesterday so couldn't post. Also think I'm retaining water from a very strenuous day. Also heavy dinner of steak followed by Tres Leche cake. FamHub's mom's birthday was Saturday. We went out to eat but couldn't bring a cake so we had it last night. I had never had that type of cake so I had to try a bit. I imagine the lactose in that isn't helping matters. Didn't eat a full slice, just a few bites to try something new. Ended up tweaking my ankle yesterday and my brace hasn't been located yet so only walked this morning rather than running. I'll have to look when BF gets up so I don't disturb him. Working on water. Drank a ton yesterday but with the amount of sweating, there was no way to keep up. Aiming for veggie-focused lunch today. Unsure about dinner.
8/17 - Whew, I was wondering if this would take a few days to come off. Drank 90 oz. Veggie scrambled egg burrito for breakfast (tried a new white bell pepper from my garden! "Blond Bell" is what it's called), last of my grapes for lunch (was on meetings and not super hungry), then chicken and rice for dinner. Found my brace so going to try an easy run today. Not going to push it too much, just enough that I don't lose the progress I made, hopefully. Will see how the ankle feels.
8/18 - No hugs. It's dairy. Made a thought-out decision to enjoy some ice cream with BF last night. Took my lactose pills but between the cheese in dinner and the ice cream, it was a tad too much. Quite alright, feeling better this morning, just remnants of bloating. Planning my breakfast and lunch meals for next week. I have to drive in at LEAST Mon-Wed, possibly Thurs depending on what data I can collect Monday and if it's enough for analysis at home Thurs. Just ordered a Bento box since I used to have one and LOVED it. I think it broke during my move to Texas and was tossed. Not 100% sure, but it is NOT in this house. Definitely helps with portioning and the various compartments make me think about my sides (veggies and fruit for "dessert") while keeping my "main meal" within check. Going to do a sauteed kielbasa and red pepper with veggies/hummus and strawberries. Should get me through 2 days. Thinking a chicken&veggie wrap or pinwheel with carrots/hummus (if there's leftover) and strawberries (if leftover) for Wed/Thurs. Breakfast will be ham/egg/cheese/spinach muffin all 4 days.

8/10- 187.8 (188.8) - 1642
I was really hungry around 9 last night, held out until 10, then ate a piece of Dave’s Good Seed thin with a T of peanuts-only peanut butter. So calories a bit higher than planned, but not stupid high. I’m going to try for a walk right now, but we’re under a heat advisory with very high humidity and it’s already hot and muggy out, so I don’t know that I’ll get far. Maybe I’ll go hike around Menard’s. 🏃🏻♀️🪛🏃🏽♀️🔨🏃🏽♀️
8/11 - 187.8 (188.5) - 1315
Lots of rain and wind last night and another heat advisory today. Must be August!
8/12 - 188.6 (188.5) - 1470
Lots of rain and heat here. I’m catching up with my reading!
8/13 - 188.4 (188.4) - 1523
Love it when daily and average weights merge, though I’d like them lower! But my average is going down, so all good! It’s finally cooled off today so I’m going for a walk and the looking for a new viburnum for my garden. Have a great Friday!
8/14 - 187.8 (188.2) - 1558
I’m surprised because we had Thai carry out yesterday. I did stick to vegetable stir fry, but still. Not gonna argue! The heat and humidity have subsided finally, and I have a garden day planned — new viburnums, hydrangeas, and a few others to plants, plus a lot of happy weeds to yank. Happy Saturday, all!
8/15 - 188.2 (188.2) - 1362
It’s a perfect summer day here — I hope you have the same. Yesterday I did a lot of planting. Today, deadheading and weeding! And a walk later. Perfection.
8/16 - 186.8 (187.7) - 1213
Monday, Monday… cool and overcast here, so a good morning for a long walk, methinks. Right now I’m having a second cup of coffee in the garden with about eight pairs of goldfinches, two Ruby-throated hummingbirds, some house finches, a bunch of sparrows, and a couple of wascally wabbits. Perfection!
8/17 - 188.6 (187.9) - 1503
How does that make any sense? Has to be water, even if yesterday was a false low, since my calories have been consistently below maintenance for more than a week. Frustrating, though. No hugs needed, just venting where I can! I think next round I’ll go to recording just my running average — much less volatile.
8/18 - 188.4 (188) - 1436
Reminding myself that my running average has dropped this round even if daily numbers are weirdly bouncy. I’m still having a snack in the evenings but have stopped crazy late-light snacks while reading, so that’s progress. And I’ve kept my calories below maintenance all round without trying for crazy low and without feeling deprived of anything. Yesterday I dug up two humongous plants I’ve decided to remove from my garden and planted a good sized hydrangea I had in a big pot, so that was my weight training for the day!
8/19 - 188.8 (188.3) - 1854
Oops. I ate too much and too salty last night. Still, my moving average is down for the round and I’m feeling more in control most of the time, so all is well. My creativity group meets tonight for pitch-in dinner, so who knows what’s on the menu? I’ll just try to keep portions under control and move on tomorrow. See you in R160!8 -

May 10, 2021 - 183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever - (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)
Next short-term goal: 162.X

SW: 169.2
8/10: 168.4 - IF 18.5 hrs, 80oz water. Rowed 30 min. The garden is really starting to produce now so it's that time of the year where every meal has vegetables out of the garden. Today I made zucchini noodles which I had never made or eaten. I didn't have anything to spiral them with so I just used a peeler. They were more like egg noodles than spaghetti. I was surprised how good they were. I like zucchini but cooking them this way really did make you feel like you were eating noodles.
8/11: 168.5 - IF 17 hrs, 64oz water.
8/12: 168.2 - IF 17 hrs. Not enough water, or vegetables yesterday. Replaced them with too many carbs/salt. We'll see if it catches up with me tomorrow on the scale, but, either way, today I'm back on track. I want to continue on this healthy track because I am feeling so much better!
8/13: 168.3 - IF 18 hrs. 44oz water. Rowed and Free-weights.
8/14: DNW - IF? I forgot to log when I quit eating yesterday and can't remember the time. I usually stop by 5pm but had watermelon sitting on my counter and ate some every time I passed by it last night. This is also the reason I decided not to weigh this morning.
8/15: 168.1 - IF 16. 80oz water. Lots of vegetables.
@quiltingjaine - Thank you for the reminder about watermelon. When I stop sugar and refined flour products, I tend to overdo sweet fruit like watermelon. I was more mindful of it yesterday. It's a beautiful Sunday morning with the humidity dropping. I'm going to ride over to the ocean this morning - should be beautiful with the clear blue skies.
8/16: 168.0 Come on 167.x. IF 18hrs. 80oz of water 2 days in a row - YAY! Rowed 30.
8/17: 168.3 I think this will drop off tomorrow with 80oz of water today (knock on wood). IF 18 hrs. 56oz water.
8/18: 167.8 - Finally 167.x. I am so determined!! Only 5 lbs to reach my next short-term goal of 162.x. Row 30 min. No IF because I had to get up early for an appt and had to force myself to eat something at 6am. 54oz of water (I will get 80oz in today!).
8/19: 167.1 Woohoo! Good Riddance to 168! My NSV at the moment is watching a pair of pants that I lived in for years starting to fall off - such a motivator! I tracked my goals this round and did pretty good. I didn't exercise as many days as I wanted, and need to try to hit 80oz of water each day. All in all, I'm happy with the round. See y'all in round 160!
I'm going to track my goals this round:
Water - 544 (Goal: 640oz)
Row 30 mins, Free-Weights, Walk - 4 (Goal: 8 days)
Vegetables/Fruit -56 (Goal: 50 servings)
Intermittent Fasting - 9 (Goal: 7 days)
No Sugar - 10 (Goal: 10 days)
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

08/09 …..189.6….. (trend 192.3) ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
08/10 …..189.6 ….. (trend 192.0) Exactly the same as yesterday. Hanging on to those 180’s . I really noticed that my early summer clothes are now very baggy and beginning to fall of me. And I’m starting to notice those bones I forgot I had. Many who have lost a fair amount of weight before knows exactly what I mean. It’s the NSV I’ve been waiting for. I’m hoping for more water and more movement today.
08/11 …..189.6 ….. (trend 191.8) Third day in a row at the same actual weight but still trending down. Lots of movement on the downward trend due to recent weight losses. Tomorrow is a very long travel day. A friend will be going with me. There will likely be indulgences but nothing I can’t handle when I get home. I’m feeling strong and capable still.
08/12 …..190.0 ….. (trend 191.6)
Late Dinner, early weigh-in. 3 hours of sleep. Travel today to the cancer center for my annual mamm and check-up. I expect more uprise from the scale tomorrow but it will be temporary.
08/13 …..193.2 ….. (trend 191.7) I obviously did not practice any restraint whatsoever at the golden corral during my medical traveling yesterday. I am on top of it today! News a little worse than I expected. I need a liver scan due to multiple lesions that showed up in the corner of my last lung CT scan in 2020. Due to covid there has been delays (some on my part) on everything medical. They have also ordered a CT scan for my lungs again. The last scan showed a nodule had grown from 1.7 to 2.3 cm. That does not mean cancer from breast has metastasized yet. It could be a benign growth because they considered that a small change in a 6 month period. I Missed 2 scans 6 months apart for rechecks so I will have to go have it checked soon. Making the appointments today on the phone. My breast mamm was good but my manual breast check with the oncologist showed a small growth in the skin (not in the breast tissue itself) very near the surgical sight. She said it did not look good. She had a general surgeon look at it who didn’t like it either. They had a plastic surgeon come in and check who didn’t like it either. They found a dermatologist who hadn’t left for home yet who didn’t like it. She asked to do an emergency biopsy which I agreed to. I was moved to a procedure room, numbed and the entire thing was fully removed. If it is cancerous it will not be skin cancer but, rather, breast cancer metastasized. No cure but can be treated (whatever that means). I have 2 stitches which I can have family take out later to avoid another long trip back. I am still waiting to hear the results. I have 2 other smaller bumps that looks just like it that they didn’t touch. If the big one they removed is okay, they should be okay too according to the doctor. Hoping for the best!
08/14 …..189.6 ….. (trend weight 191.5) So, my well went out again while I was standing naked to get into the shower Thur morning as I was getting ready for my road trip to the University Hospital. I had to go to neighbors for a shower again just to prep for the cancer appointment. The well man worked all day Friday and when he finally got the brand new well pump on, it seized up and so I still have no water since basically last Wed night. He is here now trying again but I can hear him cursing as he comes back & forth up the basement steps. Pray pray pray! Weight back down today. Not much planned exercise yesterday, moderate water, but I did get almost 5 hours of sleep last night (that’s good for me). I also did a lot of walking back & forth to neighbors for potty putting my steps at 14,000+. All my workers are sharing an unflushable toilet in my house as the other bathroom is getting remodeled. Not me! Well man is still slamming doors out to attached garage as we speak. Please God, give me and everyone else on earth clean flowing water. Our world has never been more divided than right now between Essential and Non-Essential. This is Essential!
08/15 …..187.6 ….. (trend weight 191.1) Still no water. I will have to wait until Monday. Repair man thinking the screen in the tip may be clogged which requires big machine to get down into the ground. He will call a well company on Monday to get advice/their take on what needs to be done. Happy that weight is still moving down. I watched my diet carefully again yesterday and added as much movement as possible in light of all the workers here. I got in over 14,000 steps again just walking back & forth to the neighbors to use their bathroom.
08/16 …..187.2 ….. (trend weight 190.7) A lower cal day yesterday and 11,000+ steps to the neighbors again so I am not surprised to see a bit of a drop. Hoping and praying that well man gets some answers and there will be a fix in store very soon. In this rural area, well companies are not nearby, but there are 1 or two in surrounding counties, over an hour away. Hoping the fix will not be too expensive as I’ve already spent so much already. Hoping anyone that can help has an opening on their schedule VERY SOON!
08/17 …..187.8 ….. (trend weight 190.4) Well….I guess I am happy that trend weight is down. Scale weight up but truthfully, I am estatic that it isn’t higher. I made a bad and unplanned choice during the late afternoon and then tried to skip dinner to make up for it. It ended up being a binge for food by 11:00 pm. Bad mistakes all around. I won’t do that again. After eating over calories, I always feel STARVING the next day as my body wants me to overdo the calories again. So strange how that works. I am ignoring the requests and eating to plan today. I am carefully planning all meals and not getting sidetracked by the flurry of activity at my house right now. BTW…..No water still……no response from well company yet. I may have to take some dirty dishes and some laundry to the neighbors today. This is a new house to me and I don't even know them that well. Sad today.....all hugs welcome! Prayers requested.
08/18 …..187.4 ….. (trend weight 190.1)
Stuck to plan yesterday although most of my time and my movement was limited. The well company I called does not have enough help and are too backed up to make the trip and help. So disappointed! I found another company who said they were willing to come on Thursday. Hoping for best! 3 hair appointments today – DGS #1, DGS #2 and my son Johnny. Then the handyman will be over to work on a long sidewalk framing I am having poured soon to give me a sidewalk up the hill to my house so I can get up and down in the winters for mail or to take out trash. I found out last winter that the driveway is impossible to walk on (crushed stone). A flurry of activity again today expected. Drywall finisher will also be here to mud and sand this evening after he is done from another job. I took a hard fall yesterday in my yard and my knee is black and blue. Lots of pain but no break. I won’t be able to walk the hills of my yard and neighborhood much. I’ll do what I can to stay active.
08/19 …..187.8 ….. (trend weight 189.9) A blip up but I’m not sure why. Calories in the green by 176. A little better movement yesterday considering injured knee during the fall. I guess it’s just a normal fluctuation. I am down 1.8 lbs this round (my trending weight is down 2.1) Overall I am very happy with the round. I have seen great progress by so many this time around! Congrats to all. See you in round 160!

8/10 197.1 Got a haircut this weekend. Feeling better.

8/12 196.2 I weighed very early in the am. So yesterday my children's father showed up at my job. It was potentially a very messy and extremely scary situation however he was arrested without incident. He is off the street which will make me sleep better at night. No hugs for me though. I am not hurt, and I am now on a tropical beach...determined to enjoy our birthday. (I am a twin). HERE'S TO 40!!!

8/16 198.2 Not bad for 4 days of relaxing. I did get a morning walk everyday and TOM is upon me as well.

8/19 198.6 I fell into a late evening snack, a small bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios. I knew it was last day to weigh in for the 10 day challenge but I went grocery shopping late last night. Personally I am proud that it was only a bowl of cereal. I am not doing too well lately. I am struggling with some of the drama of the last few weeks but I am still here. I am just trying not to use food as a form of comfort because that can be dangerous. This challenge keeps me grounded right now.
