Afternoon all, I can't believe how far behind I am. I have done no exercises, eating is so so. I did lose 2.2 lbs last week, but I think that was stress.LOL. Hoping to maintain that loss plus take another lb off would be good. :).

@TeresaW1020 So glad you are feeling better and yes sometimes we just need to eat what sounds GOOD...LOL.

@gemwolf110 Sorry about your foot...I am glad the prognosis is good!

@theslightedgeforever Yea on DD getting a new car. Glad she is happy about it. Yum cheesecake!

    @trooworld glad you had fun!!!

Morning all, it rained (stormed) all day here yesterday. So I didn't really do anything and eating wasn't the greatest. However, I will tell you I chose a egg sandwich over a PB sandwich..so that was good. LOL

@trooworld Yes you will feel better after you have gone, but I do understand the feeling of being tired before. Yes I was craving chocolate yesterday and ate (1) chocolate kiss out of the freezer. LOL

@cbabie Yayyy on your weight loss and choosing an egg over PB! :)

@trooworld Girl, you NEED to go to Chic-Fil-A! Yes, they usually have a long line but their drive-thru is the best there is. They get you in and out. I love the spicy chicken sandwich! And of course, their lemonade. Yikes, I hope that that high point cookie! Have fun at boxing! :)

Hello! Well, my cold which I thought was getting better has now turned into Covid symptoms. Muscle aches, super tired, and as of this morning a complete loss of smell and taste. I went and had a test and will find out the results in the next day or two. I also found out that a woman I was talking to on Sunday at church has Covid along with her whole family. So, the women’s Bible study, which was supposed to start tonight, has been canceled for the next couple of weeks. I did my staff meeting on Zoom with the team and we will not be going to church or the potluck breakfast this Sunday. I do plan to clean on Saturday but just the bare basics to make it all look presentable. DH said he will come to help me. It’s all very annoying and I’m just hoping mom and my hubby don’t come down with it. So far they feel just fine. :/

    Wow, I didn't realize I hadn't checked in for 4 days.

@gemwolf110 Oh no. What happened? So now it's more important than ever to have good food intake. I'm glad it wasn't a bad break.

@trooworld Good for you for going to your boxing class. Today I had some berries/cheese for lunch. I've never had chic fil-a either. Well, now you know about the PB cookie. Was it really good and worth it? Did it satisfy you? I'm reading an interesting book about a different perspective of a relationship with food. EDIT: just saw not worth it. lol I love Funyuns too. Haven't had those in a long time.

@renaegry Happy Birthday Your plan sounds doable. Do you think it's more food or exercise that is the problem. Think about next summer at the lake. Factor that in so you can make your goal by your 45th bday.

@teresaw1020 Yes. Absolutely taking the maintenance as a win because if this was a normal year, I would be 10 lbs heavier by now. Official total was down 0.8 lbs. Now starting again. We just finished Friday Night Lights. I never saw it first time around. That was the best show. Now looking for a new show with hubby. Dd and I have been watching the little Marvel related shows on Disney+ Currently on Loki. I love him. That's not good about your symptoms. I'm hoping just a cold. I know 3 people now with family members who have either died or in the hospital.

@cbabie Take credit for the loss. Were you tracking? Watching what you eat? Exercising? Take credit for it. Because you would definitely take credit for the gain. Yaaay on choosing egg over PB.

I think I'm caught up. So strange. I've been doing extremely well this week on exercise. Made it to the gym 4 times this week. Lots of treadmill and weights. I still need to work in my PT exercises but I think all this movement will help. I'm working on my knees by doing the leg extensions. I just need more stretching. My shoulder is fine now. No more pain when I lift. The left one still creeks (cricks) but I have good range of motion now. So just to work on the hips and neck.

Food has been good the last 3 days plus today.

I probably won't check in for the next 2 days. We're heading to Iowa for Iowa state fair. @retiredandlovingit I'll wave at you as I drive by your city.

Sorry its late, I am not sure if I will be able to check in tomorrow morning, so thought I would check in now. I haven't done the best, but certainly not the worst. No real exercise either to speak of. So if I just maintain and no gain, I think I will consider it a win. Emotionally it's been the pits, but I haven't eaten all that I could or use to in those times. LOL.

@theslightedgeforever glad you are doing better this vacation and when my DH gets back we will be looking again what to watch. Most of our shows ended in May and not sure what will happen in the fall. LOL Great job on the exercises..maybe at home pretend you have to have a pass key to get into your workout room. LOL

@TeresaW1020 I hope it's not covid, but it does sound like it. I am praying for you. I just started taking some different vitamins to add to my already existing one.

@trooworld So glad you like the boxing class and are beginning to see it not as such a big challenge, but something you feel good about!! So glad its all coming together for you.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I never like the fair..too many people for me LOL

@theslightedgeforever That is awesome that you are doing so well with your exercise and that your shoulder is pain free. I still have pain in my right shoulder that I wish would go away. I know it’s from the way I sleep. Have fun at the fair and don’t eat too many fried yummies!

@cbabie Sorry that you are dealing with emotions, but good that you aren’t eating your feelings. That is a win for sure. :)

@trooworld Yeah, that Tonal looks amazing! Yes, super pricy with the accessories and monthly fees but if it’s something you and your DH would love doing and use it a lot then it would be worth it. Whatever gets you exercising consistently is a good idea in my opinion. :)

Good morning! Well, I got my results back, and no surprise that I did test positive for Covid. It’s been 6 days since I had my first set of symptoms and I’m thankful that they haven’t been that bad at all. Mostly it feels like a head cold and I’m very tired most of the time. I haven’t had a cough or a sore throat. The complete lack of smell and limited taste is the weirdest part and I hope that comes back soon. DH went and had the test yesterday because we think he might have it too. Pretty much the same type of symptoms. My mom feels great so that is good. I plan for this all to be over by Tuesday. I have stuff to do, and I really hate not working out. I feel like my poor muscle gain is wasting away. :#

I was trying to get one of my stubborn huskies inside to go to church, didn’t see one of the holes they dug, stepping in that hole, and fell. They love to dig.

@trooworld Beer and cheesecake, huh? Two of my favorite foods! Did you have them at the same time? :D Have you all made a decision on the Tonal? Do you think you would do better by yourself with that kind of program versus doing the boxing class with other people? :)

Good morning! Well, I managed to take a shower and that wiped me out. This Covid thing is just a complete energy zapper and I hate it! :s I was reading yesterday about resuming exercise and got freaked out about how much caution there is because of setbacks to the lungs and heart. So, it looks like once I do go back into my workout room it will be slow walks on the treadmill. The cardio and weights are going to have to wait. Of course, there is the church cleaning and that has to happen. I just might need to take an extra day to get it all done. The good news is that DH tested negative and mom still feels great. :)

@TeresaW1020 glad your hubby and mom are feeling great. Hope you regain that energy. Give it time don’t rush it.

@trooworld sound like something I would do. I just keep saying to myself. Today is a new day

Had a fun time at the wedding. Back on track yesterday. Got in an early morning walk yesterday followed by a 10 min ab workout from fit on and 3 sets of 8 of bench presses. Today it’s raining so will get on the treadmill at some point today for 45 min. Other then that will be a pretty lazy rainy day. Will make some chicken soup for lunch (just seams the thing to do in the rain. lol)

Morning all, sorry my life the last few days hasn't allowed me to be on most social media, barely able to check emails, etc. I have not tracked in the last 2 days, but I did manage to get in 2 bike rides and a walk. My DD and found a total gym for free, but couldn't get it into my car...so went back today and it was gone. Oh well DH was like and you are going to put that where? LOL

@TeresaW1020 I am grateful you are taking your exercise slow. I don't think we know the long term effects yet. Glad to hear all others are okay. I have to get my DH on the vitamins I got for him. LOL.

@trooworld You are doing great. I am so proud of you. Thank you for threatening the hounds. LOL

@renaegry Glad you had fun and are back on track...I call it life's little rollacosters. LOL

Okay hopefully more consistency all the way around in my life this week

Finally back on here. I'm not even going to try and catch up.

Fair was good and we had fun. I tried a couple of things that I keep hearing I needed to try. Didn't really like either of them. Concert was good.

But then I sat for 2 days after I got home and did nothing. Which brings me back to today.

Morning all, I went on 2 bike rides yesterday...eating was so so, but working on today. Not sure if I will lose any this week, but hoping to at least maintain. LOL

@trooworld I used to go to a dietician, I liked it, she told me everything to eat and when. I am not sure I lost weight, but I am sure my nutrition was good. Let me know what you think. Sorry about you BIL, is he okay now?

@theslightedgeforever YOUR BACK!! LOL. Glad you are here.

Morning all, I tracked yesterday, no exercise...and was feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Today I plan to do SOMETHING...LOL.

@trooworld Yes, it's hard to know what to do about WW, when you feel you know what to do and it's a place of accountability or recipes, etc. I guess that's why I stopped WW, I will either track or I won't. I know what I need to do to be healthy. LOL. Hard to pay for that when you can spend your money on boxing. LOL. I hope the dietician will give you sound advice. Hope they find out what is causing the pain in your BIL. Yes it's hot here too...supposed to be 111 today! UGH...waiting for fall as well.

@trooworld Sorry that your brother-in-law is having health issues. This is an ongoing thing, isn’t it? :/ I will be interested in what the dietician has to say. I don’t have a lot of faith in them, so I hope you get a good one. I hear you trying to decide what to do with WW. Tracking in MFP is fine, but if you are interested in nerding out and seeing all your macros and micronutrients you should check out Cronometer. It took me some time to get used to it but now I love it! I only have the free version, but I might pay for it if I keep at this tracking thing for a few more months. It’s very interesting to see how consistently low on Vitamin K and folate I'm am. I either need to eat more foods with these nutrients or get a supplement.

@cbabie Have you thought about getting something like Beachbody on Demand like I have. You don’t need much room and there are so many awesome programs. I saw this video of a little girl doing it with her mom. Soooo cute!! I hope you start to feel better soon! <3

@theslightedgefoever Welcome back! Now it’s time to get back in your groove. B)

Hi everyone! Sorry that I haven’t been around the last few days. I don’t think I have a good excuse. :D I’m feeling much better and today, I even have most of my smell back. I went to church Wednesday and cleaned the church the last two days. Tomorrow I plan to start a new workout program called Let’s Get Up. It’s a dance program that will also use weights. I’m excited and heard that it’s super fun! I am happy that I lost a pound this week and I’m down 5.6 lbs. for the month. Of course, I had a 2 lb. gain in July so it’s more like 3.6, which I’m still happy about. What I’ve learned is that tracking is important. Can you believe that I even just typed that!! :o Well, it’s true and I have been as diligent as possible with my tracking in Cronometer and sticking to my calorie and macro goals. I’ve really worked on prioritizing protein, keeping my carbs low, and moderating my fat. I’ve pretty much stuck to just two meals a day with no snacking other than cups of coffee. Next month on Fat2Fit I’m doing a month-long no sugar challenge, which hopefully will help keep me even more motivated. I’m 22 lbs. away from goal and I WANT it!!! :)

@trooworld Interesting advice from your dietician and definitely worth trying. I like that she advices you be more proactive with your eating on the weekends so maybe you will be able to avoid overeating. I really treat my weekends no different than my weekdays, which seems to help me. Of course let me have a church potluck and we all know how those go for me. :D Yeah, Cronometer is awesome! If you try to chose most of your foods from the NCCDB source that is even more verified than the other sources. I’m finally getting the hang of adding and editing recipes. There are lots of tutorials to watch as well. I sure wish my town had a good Chinese restaurant!! And don't worry, you will get that gain off this week! Don't forget to join the Quit Sugar challenge on Fat2Fit! <3

Hello! Not much to report today. I had my first Sunday school class with the younger kids this morning and it was interesting, to say the least. I have 4, five-year-olds and 1 seven year old that is young for his age. I had my lesson all planned and then found out that they can’t do the basics like writing their letters and their attention span was only focused when I announced it was snack time. But it was fine and I will figure out some new tactics for next week. Hubby and I went and bought a new keyboard and mouse for my computer. I’m hoping that was the problem and that the computer doesn’t need to go in for repairs. It’s less than a year old. :# OK, I’m off to start some dinner!

Back from the lake. One more weekend left. Kids are back to school on Wednesday. Son has football practice every morning 6:30-8:00 in a town 30 min away. So 5am mornings for me starting tomorrow. Can’t wait to get back on routine with everything.

Good Morning all! Been a crazy few days one of my dogs hasn’t been feeling good for a couple of days so took him to vet. He stayed overnight and is being rehydrated and they are monitoring him. He’s in good hands and hope he gets better soon. They think he probably got into something outside that didn’t agree with him.
My foot is doing alright it’s been hurting a little the past couple of days. Can’t wait for it to be healed. Wanted to go on plenty of hikes this fall.
Anyways, in good news I’m making a list of the grad schools I’m going to apply to. Going to pursue the masters and then get a job preferably teaching as I obtain my PhD.
    How is everyone else doing?

Morning all, I have not done the best on my eating, but it's not the worst. LOL. At times I think I am in my 60's and who cares anymore, however, I know I have to be healthy not skinny. Have you ever seen people who are older and so thin they look older than they are? I want to look younger. LOL. I have been riding my bike, not long trips, but about 10 - 15 at a time, trying for 2 x a day. The mosquitoes are awful here right now. I am sitting here watching the chosen with baby girl and one of my grand daughters and her mom. ( my daughter) LOL. It's where Jesus is teaching the children, it makes me want to teach again. I taught children for so man years.

@TeresaW1020 you will get this...5 year olds are so much fun. I taught s grade boys for about 5 years..and I had never had a son, so it was a learning for me. LOL. So glad you are feeling better.

@trooworld LOL I had in and out burgers so yea I get it. The good news is there is another day. That wasn't your last meal and if it was...oh I bet it was good..LOL.

@gemwolf110 I hope your foot heals quickly. I still look at my wrist when I am taking a shower and realize what it was not to be able to shave, wash my hair, wash my arm....etc. and know I am blessed because I now can.

@renaegry Sometimes a good routine is such a welcome. I remember you used to walk when your son was doing his practice. Do you plan to do that again? :)

@gemwolf110 I sure hope your dog feels better soon. My little dog has been eating a food we can only get from the vet and now they aren’t selling it and we are having a heck of a time finding something she will eat. Of course, she will still eat her treats! :D Take it easy on your foot and try not to push before you are ready. Good luck with finding the right school to go to. What will you be teaching when you get your PhD? :)

@trooworld From the Cronometer website: Nutrition Coordinating Center Food & Nutrient Database (NCCDB) Curated by The University of Minnesota, this is the most comprehensive set of food data we use and makes up the bulk of foods in our database. This data set contains over 17000 food entries with comprehensive data on 70 nutrients. Knowing this is why I try not to put in brand names but instead look for the food that has the NCCDB. Of course, not all the foods that I eat have it but it’s still highly likely that they are still reputable.:) Sorry that it was such hard work cleaning out the room but aren’t you getting excited about the Tonal and all the great workouts you are going to get? You should have eaten breakfast and let DH wait to get started without you. :p

@cbabie I still haven’t watched the Chosen and I keep hearing how great it is! I do love 5-year-olds too. I told my DH that I would be quite happy just playing and talking with them for an hour, but their parents really do expect me to teach them something about Jesus. Yesterday the most exciting thing we did was kill a wasp and then fight over who was going to pick it up and put it in the trash. Boys!!

Hello everyone! Not too much happening today. I did the Aldi and Walmart trips and then came home and did my new dance workout program called Let’s Get Up with Shaun T. It is super fun but dang I’m such an uncoordinated white girl. :D I’m sure I will get the hang of it but at least I keep moving and doing my own thing if need be. I’m going to get my hair done tomorrow so I can finally stop staring at my emerging grey roots. :s I’m all set to keep on tracking my food this month and plan to go as sugar-free as possible. DH is taking me shopping at the end of September for new fall clothes and for our trip to Savannah and I want to be able to shop in any store I want to go in and buy lots of pretties!

My little dog is on a prescription diet. I get hers either from the vet or Chewy. He’s home now and resting. No obstructions. He just ate something that didn’t sit with him. He should be feeling fully better in a few days.

I’m planning on teaching Criminology/Sociology classes. My undergrad is in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology and Criminal Justice so I could go either way and teach both. Feels good to have a plan that is doable.

    How was everyone’s Monday going?

@cbabie Yes, you need to be healthy to chase that baby around! Do you ride with baby girl? Are you thinking about teaching at Sunday school? I bet you would be a good teacher. There IS another day and we can make better decisions today! LOL...it was good.

@TeresaW1020 Thank you! That seems like a good source! Yes I am very excited. But now DH says we should wait until they do the window back there, which is on the adjoining wall. I say not to wait because it could take another 2 years to do. He had me email the HOA to see when they are going to start. Yes, you are right, I should have eaten breakfast!!! :D You sound like you are back to your old self, that's great. LOL...I'm an uncoordinated white girl, too! I think you will have no problem shopping and will get all the pretties!!!

@gemwolf110 I'm glad your little dog just ate something wrong. My Monday was "ok". How was yours?

Hi all. I just accepted friends requests from 2 people that I'm not 100% sure are real people lol. I guess if I start seeing weird things on my feed, I know they weren't real. Yesterday started out well. I only ate one snack at work: an apple. I went for a 23-minute walk with my boss. But then DH said he didn't want to cook and could I stop for a frozen pizza and oh, by the way, can you get some beer? :P I did do better with the pizza than normal: I had 2 smaller pieces and only one beer. I would usually eat at least 3 pieces.

My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS

It was a typical manic Monday. Is it the holiday yet? Lol 😂

Well it’s Sept 1 and kids are off to school. Which means finally routine is back. lol. Today’s plan is to do a quick little workout off of mfp (one of the plans can’t remember which one I started) and then 40 min on the treadmill. I log on WW and on mfp is my goal is to get a blue dot at least 25 days this month and to stay within my calories for 25 days. I also plan every morning to check in with progress. Good or bad. Hopefully this we’ll keep me accountable.

@trooworld I hope your back is feeling better. I am in agreement with you and that you should get the Tonal now! If you’re like me, then when you decide you want something you don’t want to wait. Just make sure to tell the Tonal installment people about the upcoming work and see what they suggest. Only you can decide if quitting WW is right for you. I think we both know that it’s not about the tracking in WW that is anymore helpful than tracking in Cronometer is. Both work if you do the work. You know I hate tracking but I’m going on my second month and plan to stick to it. If you want a Cronometer accountability buddy just let me know!

@renaegry OK you have a great plan and sound like you are ready to take serious action. Let’s do this!!

Hello! So, today was my first day of training to learn the bookkeeper’s job. I was nervous about what to expect, but honestly, I know I can do it and it won’t be too complicated and might even be fun. So, that is a relief for all concerned. I will go in every Wednesday and by January, I should have a good understanding of how to work the software and by next summer will revamp it all and make it more efficient. After I came home, DH and I went to Sams to buy a bunch of supplies for my cleaning job and this evening we have church. So, I’m not doing a workout program today, but I am starting a 30 day back strengthening challenge and plan to get up in a minute and go get that done. Food has been good, and I have tracked it all. :)

@trooworld I had some friend requests too. I just look at their profile and see do they look normal. Sometimes you can just tell by their sexy pics. lol So what's with the urge to quit WW. Have you been successful recently on other plans? Counting is counting no matter what you count.

@gemwolf110 Any special plans for the holiday? I'm headed to Chicago on Friday. That's my big plan. Cookout on Sunday with old friends. I've already told my friend no need to supply sweets or snacks for me. She's a former food buddy but has lost some weight.

@renaegry Your goal with the 25 blue dots sounds good. Did you have a go back to school party? I used to love first day of school. I'm alone......I'm alone.....

@teresaw1020 I'm glad you are feeling better. Did you get your back strengthening challenge started?

I'm eating just over the top of my carbs and calories. So I need to bring it down. Exercise has been about 50% this week. This is not helping me get to my goal.

Yesterday was a good day. Kids were off to school. Got all my work done that I wanted. Did day 1 of mfp low impact strength workout followed by 40 min 4.0 brisk walk on treadmill. Eating was good. Cals in 1269 cals out 2541deficit 772 left for day ( taken from Fitbit). Today’s plan is 40 min on treadmill. Will save the outdoor runs for next week when I have to drive for football in the mornings. Daughter has gymnastics tonight. I’m the treasurer of the club so will be taking my computer and getting some work done there. Reading a good book right now so might be a struggle to work or read lol.

    🔵 = 1

@theslightedgeforever did my own little happy dance of being back on routine and quiet house. Kids are grade 8 and grade 11 this year. My son has a spare so comes home sometimes thru the day.

@trooworld You are right. I can do better. What kind of appetizers did you have? How much did you eat? Was it hor d'oeurves like stuff? When I go to parties I track it that way if it's served that way. But you still need to know how much you ate. Did you pick up 1-2 things and put it on your plate or did you just keep eating from the server plate and don't really know? I always yell at hubby when he picks off my plate. I'M COUNTING.....
I say quit WW. Your heart is not really in it. If you change your mind later then you can do that when you cross that bridge as they say. It's not about Pass/Fail. It's about finding things that work for you. Right now that's not working for you. The new leader doesn't motivate you it sounds like. Double tracking is extra work if you like the Cronometer. The money can go towards the Tonal. But the question is Will you USE that tonal when it's in your house? How often do you use the bike that's in your house? I have a whole gym in my house that I have problems using regularly. I seem to be doing better here. I need to figure out why that is. Both me and my hubby saw the tonal and was like Wow we need to get that. Then I said, let's just use what we have and then if we are consistent with that we can buy the other. They have one of these in the gym here and I haven't tried it yet. It's in a small room to the side and I don't really want to spend most of the time staring at it trying to figure out how to get it to work the first time. lol So I just use the machines and hand weights cause I know how to use them. How much weight, etc.

@renaegry Woohoo! Success on Day 1. I need to get my head back in the success zone. All I need to focus on is TODAY. Just do what I've planned for the day and that's it.

@theslightedgeforever I did day one of my back strengthening challenges but I didn’t today because I worked and am just plain too tired. I’m going to try to make it up tomorrow. Are you pre-tracking your carbs and calories? I find that helps me more than anything else to stay where I need to be. If only I didn’t it every single day. :/

@trooworld Tracking things like appetizers at a restaurant just need your best guess. I always try to figure high and call it good enough. I think your WW center closing is a for sure sign that you should consider quitting. What exactly is WW giving you that you can’t do on your own or use a different method? I think that is an important question to figure out for yourself. :)

@renaegry Good job eating well and getting in your workout! B)

Hello! Today has been pretty good. I had an extra-long staff meeting that ended with us realizing that we need more time together in a social setting other than just hurriedly trying to meet once a week. So, we are going to start having a monthly dinner with our spouses. There are 7 of us on staff and all of them have full-time jobs outside the church. So, this adds extra stress and for the success of our mission, it’s so important that we are a tight unit. I am happy that we could hash it out this morning and talk about what is lacking and what we can do going forward. I then cleaned the one building and came home tired. Women’s Bible study starts back up tonight and I’m happy about that but we have two of our ladies out with Covid. One is a senior and she is really sick and might have to go into the hospital. So lots of prayers will be said. :'(

Morning all, I am sorry I have not been online. I get on just long enough to read one or two post and then have to get off the computer. I have had crazy days this week that has not allowed me to get on here. I have exercised, like bike ride and walks all week though and eating has been so so. God is working in my life and I can see it.LOL He is always working, sometimes I just don't "see" it.

@trooworld you comment hit me and I need to reply this to you. I am reading Joyce Myers book Do It Afraid. When you said you fear losing it...I want to say to you do it afraid....you got this. you have listed all the reasons and made a choice based on experience and wisdom. You got this. I have never heard of the tonal but will look it up.

@TeresaW1020 yes I believe we need the social..unless your my DH...he seems to just want to stay at home and play games or play with baby girl. LOL. I hope you get your energy back soon and I am praying for your dear member. Our church lost another one last week to Covid..It was sad as his "new wife" and him had just gotten married about 2 or 3 months ago..they are both farther along in life.. :). lost both their spouses and became friends and then that turned into lets get married..they were so enjoying life...but they had a few months together has husband and wife and God had blessed them.

@gemwolf110 Isn't it funny the little things we take for granted (like clipping our toe nails) until we can't do it? I hope you heal quickly and sounds like a plan on your schooling..

@theslightedgeforever Chicago uh...I don't ever want to go there, but I know you have friends there. Have fun and enjoy.
