8/20 - 248.9 Today marks the 4 month anniversary of me starting this journey. I had hoped to be lower after seeing 246 on the scale earlier this week but my body had other plans. Still being down 50 lbs in 4 months is nothing to be upset about.

8/23 - 244.9 The usual weekend fall strikes again! Sometimes I wish I had a manual labor job so that I could get calorie burns from work rather than just sitting at a desk all day. I spread 1/2 ton of top soil and then mowed the lawn after. Last year I couldn't mow my entire lawn at one time, now I'm doing it after doing other work. I'm also starting to really feel more comfortable with my body. Still a long way to go but I'm not embarrassed to go places anymore and I'm excited to have nicer clothes!
8/24 - 246.0 Just how Mondays are always low, Tuesdays and the rest of the week are always high. Sitting around at work all day really takes its toll I guess. This was pretty disappointing to be honest. I just want to be out of the 240s and I keep bouncing around here.
8/25 - 246.5 Yeah this trend is really annoying. Looking back at last week, I'm down 2.5 lbs but I have no idea how I'm going up during the week. I'm doing everything right and the scale just doesn't cooperate. I know not to put much stock in the number on the scale but psychologically it's not the best start to the day when I know I've done everything right.
8/26 - 244.1 So I don't know what caused this but I guess I was storing a lot of water. I had to go to the bathroom every hour for 6 straight hours yesterday. That on top of running 4 miles since my last weigh in made this possible. Feeling a lot happier today because of this # now I just need consistency tomorrow!
8/27 - 245.2 Slept horribly and didn't do any running this morning so not surprised. Will work out tonight and then this weekend I'm going to do a lot of working out because it's supposed to rain all weekend so no lawn work to help me drop!

Ten days eating/drinking what I wanted (in moderation), no tracking, no formal exercises (but kept active) equals a total gain of 0.3 (was 164.3 at start of vacation). Calling that a HUGE success!! Back focused on weight loss today:)

8/25 - 166lb/I didnt have a scale before I joined MFP, I just went by how my clothes fit. I got the scale as that is how everything was calculated and measured with the app. I seem to move around 166.3 one day, 165.5 the next. For now I am rounding to the nearest pound as either my scale is faulty or I am as that seems like a lot of fluctuation!. I have been drinking a ridiculous amount of water (for me) so that is a plus this week!

8/20--210.3 Went to see my trainer yesterday. Today I took the day off from work and I am going to do some things around the house and then go for a massage.
8/21--209.4 Back to my pre-getaway weight from 2 weeks ago. Plan for today is to go for a hike with hubby and the dog, but it may rain this morning so plans may change.
8/22--209.6 Went out for a great hike yesterday. It was puppy's hardest hike and she did great. I am definitely sore today and did not have enough water, so I am not surprised of the uptick today and will probably have another uptick tomorrow. Today is trainer day and I plan on getting in enough water.

8/25: 166.7 - 80 oz water past 2 days. It seems to be easier to get 80oz down. All carbs were from vegetables, which is the case most days since I've stopped wheat products for now.
8/26: 165.9 - Another good drop. This calorie cycling is working for me. After my high day (1840), I've been tracking my average calories and now back to around an average of 1250. I have a problem with bingeing, and eating more just one day can throw me off for days where I continue to eat more and more as if I blew it, which of course isn't the case, but it's mind games. By having higher "controlled" calorie days where I counter it (and track it) the other days and see my average calories going down really helps - that and choosing wisely and not a lot of carbs or sugar, which will set me off on a week/month binge. Eventually, I won't have to track it, but for now, it helps me.

08/21 - 163.2 STEPS - 10,771. Had more fibre than usual yesterday and not enough water so am not surprised to be back up a bit. Still below goal but no unhatched chickens counted yet. Rainy day and lots of housework so getting my steps in might be tricky.
08/22 - 161.0 STEPS 1,635. Really poor performance on the steps yesterday as I was stuck indoors on the computer all day. Not great with the food and drink either so I'm shocked to see another big drop today! I must've been holding on to a lot of water. Glad to be back at a weight from ten days ago, fingers crossed it doesn't swing back up again too far tomorrow!
08/23 - 162.2 STEPS 7,090. A little short of my walking target yesterday, went for a lovely walk in the woods but felt really sleepy when I got home so spent the rest of the day watching movies. Food was on point but I did have some yoghurt and granola before bed and I wouldn't usually have carbs in the evening which may account for the uptick on the scales. Waiting on a call from the GP to discuss concerns I have with my heart, really nervous as I don't know if I'll be able to communicate my symptoms over the phone. Once the call is done I'm going for a walk in the sunshine to release the tension.
08/24 - 161.2 STEPS 11,700. Good day yesterday all in all. Went for a 3 mile walk in the evening around my town and discovered some parts I'd not seen before. Felt slightly unsafe walking alone in the evening though, I guess this is one reason why people get dogs. Cats don't care! My birthday is coming up this Saturday and I'm off to London to visit my bro for a few nights then pub lunch and cinema on Sunday, it's gonna be a challenge to keep on track! On the last day of this challenge I will be away from the scales so will have to wait until Monday to weigh in.
08/25 - 160.4 STEPS 10,419. Another good day and another drop, so close to the 150s! Went for an evening walk again after spending a lot of the day in the car. I'm finding I need to fit in at least a one hour walk each day to achieve my steps goal in top of my normal steps activity. I think I need to get up earlier and go for a short morning walk before the rest of the house wakes up. Snacking in the evening of yoghurt and granola and ham and cheese didn't seem to have a bad impact, surprised at that.
08/26 - 160.0 STEPS 12,520. Yay, I hit my first mini goal today, 20lbs lost! Yesterday was a really good day, busy all day and I had lots of energy. I think all the extra walking is doing me a world of good, I don't feel breathless and sluggish anymore, I'm sleeping much better and getting more done. I read a thread this morning about ways to up your NEAT and have been consciously trying to keep my body moving by taking the longer route to get to places and avoiding multi tasking so I have to do more trips around the house. I'm also trying to stand still and sit down less, pacing when I am looking at my phone and putting things away when they are done with rather than piling things up to deal with later. So far I have walked .... today and it's only 1 30pm!
Hopefully I won't have to walk for 1.5 hours this evening to get my steps in if I don't want to.
08/27 - 160.4 STEPS 10,866 Started off as a really good day calorie wise but ended at the pub followed by burger van on the way home, whoops! Had a cheese burger but left the bun and had a box of salad with it, not too 'naughty'. Paying for it this morning with a bad head and a 0.4 gain. Oh well, I had fun! Just got to resist the urge to have a lazy day today.
08/28 - 161.0 STEPS 4,411 Upswing, sigh. I had a low energy day yesterday and didn't manage much other than cooking and housework. I really missed going for my walk. Think I'm retaining water again as my ankles look puffy. It's my birthday today and I'm going to my brother's for a couple of nights. They're very foody people and will no doubt be putting on a spread. How do I politely decline having a piece of everything offered? It's actually giving me anxiety the idea of not having control over what I can eat and when. I could just say f it, it's my birthday and one or two days of excess won't matter in the long run but the whole of August I've been going back and forth over the same 8 pounds and really wanted to start September on a new low. I guess I just need to relax a bit.

8/28. . .158.5. . .sweet! I love those rare days when I apparently drop a whole pound overnight. The hot weather has broken and I am just finishing my smoothie and then I will go jogging. I've already looked after all the critters. I'll be getting some hay off the field today, probably the last of the year (I get hay out of the barn after this, which costs $1 more per bale, but I have only so much storage space. Hay is bulky!) My mares were out lying in the cool sunshine this morning waiting for their breakfasts. I don't think that they've laid down outside since their protector, Royal, the gelding, died last fall. He would have given his life to protect them, or to protect me, for that matter. Had lunch with a friend yesterday I haven't seen since before covid and that was fun. All my summer chem students are through their chem exam except one and I don't seem able to impress the fact on her that she's got to get the freaking thing done asap (it's online and since she's in Japan I'm not making her stick to the time frame that the other local students adhered to.) Have a great weekend everybody. I'm hoping to break a (personal) land speed record with my jog this morning!
