@roz0810 happy birthday!
Quick testimonial in favor of pre-logging: my husband let me know yesterday, well ahead of time, that he has band practice this evening. I work until 8 PM and his band practice usually goes until about 9:30 or 10, and he usually comes home craving fried chicken tenders from a local place. Because I have the week pre-logged, I was able to shift a few things around and find the calories to be able to split a loaded-fries appetizer with my husband for dinner tonight. Is it the healthiest choice on their menu? Not at all, but I'm a human being that sometimes wants to eat chicken tenders and french fries covered in bacon, cheese, and hot sauce, which is a thing I can do while still sticking to my budget for the week because I know where my calories are going and had time to reallocate them.13 -
@goal06082021 - That's awesome! I really believe that there's nothing wrong with an indulgent meal every now and then. It's just a matter of balance and working it into your goals. Way to go!
I feel like absolute garbage today. My allergies are kicking in a bit, I may have some sort of sinus issue or cold on top of that, it's that time of the month so I feel crampy and gross, and I'm not sure I slept well because I'm just tired and feeling worn out. I normally try to do some sort of cardio on Thursdays, but I think I'm going to do some slow flow yoga and call it a day.5 -
I'm doing much better than I used to do on the shopping day. It's all put away, and I've started the precooking. Mostly this is cutting meat and putting it in marinade and freezing it, but I'm making a chicken bacon ranch quichecake to follow on from the bacon/spinach/mushroom one that's in the fridge being eaten on. (I like to keep one in the freezer so no matter what breakfast is handled.) So that involves cooking ground chicken with spices. Also I need to cook more hamburger for ground beef in various Mexican dishes. Two batches, as two of the four of us have Midwestern palates and the other two grew up in California and like it hotter than we can take.
But that way it's all ready, and even if I didn't remember to get some hot taco meat out of the freezer, 1:45 in the microwave has it hot and ready to use, and that makes life much easier for me since I have chronic foot pain.3 -
Hello group,

I have high blood preasure (even though I'm on 2 different BP pills daily and I have hi cholesterol and a family history of heart attacks. I have a hard time walking around for more that 10 mins because of my back, so I don't do exercising, So I have to do it through diet. I take 9 different meds aday mostly for pain, BP, cholesterol & Acid Reflux. The doctors want me to have surgery on my stomach. I don't want that so I'm trying to lose weight myself. I have no support at home.So I've turned here trying to find some. My weigh in days are Monday. 💕10 -

I *am* looking forward to this weekend's cooking projects, though. There's a lot of soup on the docket, LMAO - besides the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli for lunch, I'm making a lobster bisque, chicken stock for chicken noodle soup, and a very autumnal caramelized onion, apple, and sausage soup with orecchiette that I'm REALLY looking forward to. I do kind of wish I had some kale or spinach for that last one, but I also like to make recipes as directed at least once before I start tweaking them.
how was the onion, apple & sausage soup? I would love the recipe - or a link if it is online. Did it need the spinach? it sounds like it would. and the lobster bisque sounds divine!!3 -

It's great! LOL I misread the recipe - the onion and apple cooks down into more of a sauce, it's not as soupy as I was expecting. But it IS delicious (and would also be awesome with something leafy wilted into it, def doing that next time)! And the lobster bisque was as well, though it was more trouble than it was worth if I'm being honest - next time I start jonesing I think I'll just go to a restaurant, LMAO.4 -

So frustrating to see the scale go up when I am so close to Onderland. I know I have been eating well and staying at or slightly below my calorie goal daily. I am just going to give it time, it could be extra stress at work or TOM or any number of other factors. I am just going to continue to stick to the plan and log accurately. Fingers crossed that I see a whoosh next week and can still make my goal for the month.11 -
So I got curious and laid the shorts I wore yesterday over the shorts I wore back in July, and there's a solid 1.5-2 inch difference in width. It was really good visual confirmation that I'm making progress, since I see my reflection every day and can't always tell the difference. Also, some business pants I haven't worn in 3 years because they've been too small finally fit again. Wore them to the office today!10

Hi❗️
I’m really happy that I’ve managed to walk 35 steps with a walker. I truly feel I’m making progress towards being out of a wheelchair. Haven’t had a change to weight but I’m redoubling my efforts to lose weight. I need to be able to wear the clothes I purchased during my last weight loss.
Have a great end of week and weekend❗️18 -
@roz0810 Happy Birthday! 🎉1

Hey girlie's. Hope you're all doing well. It's my birthday on Thursday so I've been spoilt this week so far already and spoiling myself too. Going for a meal out tomorrow with some friends. I won't be weighing in till next Wednesday at least I think because I know it won't be good!
Happy birthday!!!🎉🎂🎈1 -
Second day of no after-dinner snacking, under sodium goal, and two glasses of water. I'm a bit hungry again but am persevering. Swear I feel a little mentally sharper. Maybe it's the increased protein?
I've decided to start making stuff to take to work for lunch instead of relying on frozen entrees or something that might have a lot of sodium. I think that'll make a big impact.11 -

Sept 24:
I MADE IT TO MY MAINTENANCE WINDOW! And it’s just as wonderful here as everyone says. I feel incredible, I look great, I am SO proud of myself! It feels like it’s been forever and just the blink of an eye at the same time. Sometime this week, I want to get around to writing some things I’ve learned in my nearly 70lb transformation - not today, though, because I have a lot going on.
Plans for this week are to start adding in a few more calories and still log everything. I’d like to have a solid 6 months or so of logging and maintaining before I reevaluate if I want to maintain via the scale and how I feel vs. logging. I felt like toward the last month or so of losing, even though I weighed and logged everything, I knew basically what I could eat and still lose. I’d like to get there with maintenance too but I’m going to give myself a lotttt of time to get there (and, I’d like to drop to the bottom of my window instead of the top before I do anything too drastic).
Chase your dreams, ladies! Change is possible!

@swanjun let me know if you want recipes, I have a pretty solid rotation of 6 preppable lunches. I'm making cabbage rolls for next week, those are impressively low-calorie if I do say so myself, LMAO.3

Goal for September is to be at 250.
After gaining/losing the same pound or so OVER AND OVER again for the first half of September, I had a whoosh down for the last couple of days. Sometimes this is all super frustrating/confusing.

I TOTALLY get what you mean by that. That's why I try to avoid most carbs. I don't think being in ketosis is magic, I just have no control once I get started. For the first couple of months, I try to avoid the carby sugary things entirely, then I start reintroducing them (within my calorie goals) as long as I can control it.2 -

I don't think I've ever been in ketosis - I don't intentionally try to be, anyway - but when I made a batch of homemade marshmallows earlier this summer, I noticed a clear difference in how I felt after eating one (because marshmallows are basically just sugar-flavored jello). The compulsion to keep snacking was MUCH stronger after even just the equivalent of half a teaspoon of sugar. Not even to keep snacking on sugar, specifically - just, you're in the kitchen, eat six slices of lunchmeat straight from the container while standing in front of the open fridge. I'm still not intentionally trying to cut out sugar, or at least not going out of my way to do that thing, but feeling that difference so clearly was eye-opening. I'd be fine, not in a craving/binging headspace at all. In fact, I set aside calories and planned to have a mug of hot chocolate with a couple of homemade mini-marshmallows in it for dessert that night. And then suddenly I'd find myself raiding the fridge/cabinets for no reason. It did not feel good - agitation, disappointment, anger at myself. Took me longer than I care to admit to make the connection to the marshmallows, because I have been budgeting in a little somethin' sweet for dessert for the last little bit and the Fudgesicles and raspberry cream bars and ice cream sandwiches didn't have nearly that effect - and those weren't fake diet sugar-free Fudgesicles, etc., either.4 -

Yes, please! Hubby and I actually make cabbage rolls all the time. That's a great idea. I will suggest it to him.
