@Frompumpkin2cinderella That is awesome! Great work. I know you will get back to your exercising very soon. Continue to heal and you will be back to normal soon!7

Ha ha I was able to lift myself up onto the ledge of this seating area that is a good foot off the ground as you can see from my dangling feet… And now to jump off 😜. A double NSV moment.25 -
I bought a bra off the rack at a department store! That's something that probably won't impress most people, but it's also something I have never been able to do in my adult life. My band and cup sizes are finally in the range where I don't have to order bras through specialty retailers. I'm also solidly outside of plus sizes for clothes now. It's like a whole new world of style has opened up to me. It's not so great for my wallet, but pretty amazing for my self-confidence.36

Was wearing 38-inch waist pants and they felt tight. Now wearing 36-inch waist pants and have to wear a belt with them. What! Will I be seeing 34-inch waist pants again in my future?29

I know this is kind of a scale victory, but I'm just so happy! I've reached UNDERLAND! Under 200!
The NSV of this victory is that I haven't been tracking calories or working out for almost two weeks. Habits regarding food are sticking even when I'm not active!26 -
Went for annual check up today. Nurse taking my blood: are you a trainer or something?
(Later): uuuh, does your BP usually run, um, really low? Like 90/80?
Dr: Everything looks good, EKG is a little slow but that’s you being an athlete.
Felt a little ridiculous asking what this huge visible lump in my armpit was…it was a muscle insertion point.
Not bad for my 40th birthday checkup!35 -

One of my coworkers, whom I normally see in passing and therefore don't have long conversations with, mentioned (unprompted) that it looks like I've lost some weight. Felt good to respond, "Yep! 19 pounds and counting."20

I had a job interview today and had to go straight to the office afterwards. To avoid my clothes being too conspicuous and people guessing I had a job interview, I took off my blazer, just wearing a tight fitting stretchy top with a tight fitting pair of black jeans. And I didn't feel self conscious, not even sitting down! (note: high waisted pants are great at hiding a slightly fluffy belly) I haven't dressed like that in.... 15 years?
And when I told/showed my BF when I got home, he said I shouldn't allowed to dress like that at work, too sexy 😁 I mean, he exaggerates, bless him, but I felt great in my clothes today nevertheless.30 -
I could see a change in my face today, my eyes look bigger without all the fat pushing them closed and my jawline looks tighter. I actually thought my jaw was from age, not weight, but I see my old face coming back!23

I moved my car seat even further in... And random people are starting to stop me to let me know how amazing I am.23

Got out of the bath tub this morning and realized that a year ago it would have taken me about 15 minutes with extreme knee pain to get out of it. 95 lbs. lighter I can get right out.34

My class (I’ma teacher) challenged another class to a game of kickball today. I played and scored 3 runs for my team. I’m not sure I could have done that when I was heavier.23

Didn't buy a load of junk or fast food just because it was Friday night25

My most recent NSV is that I haven’t skipped an ab day in three weeks. I skipped a small workout that was supposed to be with my upper body workout but not an ab day 😁😁😁 progress 😁😁21

I never used to drink coffee. Didn't like it black, and knew I didn't need the extra calories that creamer and sugar added. Since I started Keto in 7/20, I found Splenda doesn't taste bad and Nestle sugar free creamers are only 15 cals per Tbsp. I started with 3 T creamer at 45 cals per cup for months, but have now switched (as of today) to 2 T and a half packet of Splenda per cup. You know how it goes - it's these little changes that keep us going in the right direction. This is today's NSV.19

I tried on a really cute dress at Hot Topic yesterday. They only had sizes medium and XL. I was SO CLOSE to fitting into the medium!! It probably would have fit if I didn't have my clothes on underneath it lol. But it's an overall style dress so I opted for the XL, since I'll have to wear some kind of shirt with it.
The last time I was shopping at Hot Topic, I would have been worried that even an XL wouldn't fit!16 -
I've lost weight before, and every time I've taken the clothes that were too big for me, and stored them away "just in case I needed them again". This time around, I'm committed to never needing them again, so I'm donating everything as soon as it doesn't fit anymore. Today I was sorting clothes to donate, and found a pair of jeans from 6 years ago that I was certain would be too small for me - and they fit! They're not even tight! Made my day.
(One of the perks of my not being fashionable is that I look just as unfashionable wearing clothes from 6 years ago as I would if I bought clothes yesterday. 😁 )26 -
I swam a mile today for the first time ever. A little over a mile actually--2000 yds/40 laps. When I started swimming in Feburary I could only manage 150 yds/4 laps. This victory was just what I needed after a very rough week. It made me feel hopeful again.27

While working out at Orange Theory this morning, I noticed the loose skin hanging from my upper arms. This may sound crazy, but I was so stinkin' proud of all that dangly skin.30
-
I looked at my arms yesterday in the mirror and realized that I don't actually have that much loose skin; I'm not done losing, but it's obvious that most of the loose is a slack muscle, and so all I need to do is more weight training to tighten that all up as I lose. That's really encouraging to me.13

I can understand completely @Elystriel ! I just went into Torrid and got fitted for a bra because I’ve been wearing the same 3X sports bras for the last 3 years and I had gotten to the point where I had a “una-boob shelf” in them. Before that it was catalog stuff that never fit right or was uncomfortable for over a decade. And I ended up fitting into a 38C! The same size I wore in my freshman year in High School. Holy Kittens 🐈⬛! I keep walking around and looking at my hubby and saying “Look Hunny! I have 2 boobs!”. He is being very kind and tolerant of me.🥰. And don’t even get me started on how much money I’ve spent along the line on clothes going from a size 32 to a size 12 (so far!), especially after size 16! Congratulations girl! I know your very special “my bra fits and I bought it retail” joy 🤩!

I think that you are pretty inspiring to your friend after losing half your weight. That is a tremendous achievement.
Thank you @Beautyofdreams ! I do try to be an inspiration and a positive role model, but too many of my friends have put me up on a pedestal, and feel that I have done something they could never do. Which is, in reality, probably just an excuse for not Really wanting to do the work that it takes. Any way you look at it, you can only do what they will allow you to do.6 -
Adjusting my calorie goal yo actually match what I’ve been eating. I’ve been losing steadily for a few months but never really getting under the calorie goals I’ve set for each day - most days I’ve ended up over by 100-300 calories. Last week I realised that what I’ve been eating is allowing me to lose weight at a rate I’m happy with so rather than feel like I’m eating too much, why not adjust, learn to eat within a more reasonable goal, and feel like I’m in control? Feels a whole lot better plus I’m more confident that as I get to a healthy weight, I’ll be able to sustain a controlled calorie intake.30

Walking dog 3+ to 4+ miles at a brisk pace (& sometimes not so brisk b/c dog) most days of the week is my usual "workout". For years, I have challenged myself by walking in 5K and 10K race events, but during the pandemic, those became virtual. Sat. I was thrilled to participate in person in the Pink Pumpkin 5K and very happy with my time of 47:34 and average pace of 15:19 min/mile. As usual my second half was faster & I impressed myself with 14:48 pace. Then because dog was sad earlier when I left without her, wearing my walking gear, when I got home I walked her 3.24 miles. But before coming home, I walked the entire farmers market & bought lots of healthy foods & beautiful fall bouquet. Pleased to learn I was 7th out of 11 in the F 60-64 group. Hubby said finishers 1-6 were in their early 60s. LOL I turn 64 next Sunday.19

This is what we should ALL be doing, and we should reassess from time to time as we get closer to our goal. When our mass decreases, it takes less fuel to move it, so our calorie requirements go down. Keeping an eye on weight trends as well as intake and activity helps us to keep our goal set appropriately. Good job. Keep an eye on things and adjust as necessary!12 -
Was able to pretty easily walk a 3.09 mile round trip to the library book sale Saturday.16

I tried on a T-shirt today that has great emotional significance to me, and it is a size “L”, because that was the only size available at the time (I purchased it at a concert in 2005). And I had worn a 6X when I bought it, so had never, in a million years, had any thought that it would ever actually fit. It was just a souvenir. And I pulled it out of a “maybe when I’m smaller” drawer I had made a couple of years ago and promptly forgotten about, along with a bunch of other nifty stuff, and it totally fit! What makes it an even Bigger NSV is the fact that the last time I was that size, which, because of Vanity Sizing, is a 70’s and 80’s “XL”, was before I started junior high, so I was at maximum, 11 years old! I feel very proud of myself, but this is the first time I haven’t been “fat” since I was 9 years old (I think I’ve mentioned this in other posts), and I’m learning how to just enjoy the ride, but for a while there, it was seriously weirding me out!39
