Hey guys.
Sorry been MIA. Kinda just been trying to get off line a bit though hasnt really worked.
I'm just ticking over really. Still running though not training for anything. I was going to do a HM at the end of November but due to current lockdowns I doubt its going to happen. So cancelled the plan I had been following. I'm going to just run by feel, or go by train hat watch suggests for a bit.
I'll still be around and will come on more often. I've really missed chatting with you all. I think this is a yearly break I seem to be having lol.

Great job @scott6255! I didn't realize Peachtree City had a 15K. I'm about an hour away from there, so that might be a race I try out in the future.
I ran 4 miles this morning. It was in the 40s and felt so nice!
I'm really trying to figure out if I want to run the Atlanta Marathon in February or if I want to focus on improving half marathon time (there are a few halfs over the next 6 months) and then build off of that to try to improve on my time at next fall's Wineglass Marathon. Atlanta's course is extremely hilly, and I know my time won't be a PR. I love Wineglass and think that working on some smaller goals and then building up will allow me to shave off a significant amount of time. Plus, NY in the fall is amazing and much more scenic than downtown ATL. Decisions...9 -

That was a rough half today. Not a race, just completing the distance for the Half Marathon a month in 2021 challenge. We were lucky to have just a light run for the part where we were mostly in the woods. My friend put it out there to the universe that we would like it stop raining for the when we got out of the woods and headed onto the canal. And it did! Thank you universe. And right after we were done I stopped for coffee on my way home and came out of the coffee place and it was pouring rain and so cold. I was so happy we had finished before that because I was super chilled just from that and it took a while to warm up.
2 more HM to get done for this year!

Yay I did it!!!
Gliwice Half Marathon and the Silesian Half Marathon Crown = DONE!!!!!!!!
Race recap:
Short version - I ran the entire thing with a huge smile on my face 🥰
Long version and pics:I started out thinking I'd just take it easy, there was a pace group for 4-5 minutes slower than my PB, and I started just behind them. I knew they were going faster than they were supposed to, but it didn't bother me. Then going downhill I'd've had to put the brakes on to stay behind them, so I just let myself go ahead at a reasonable pace. 1st hill, they caught back up, but then after that I was just getting farther and farther ahead of them. I figured at any time I could slow down and rejoin them if needed, except I never needed to. There was a tunnel that messed up the watch data (4x because it was an out and back that we did twice) and for some odd reason there wasn't a single kilometer marker, so I didn't know my overall pace, but could see the next pacers ahead of me and mainly wanted to keep a pace that I could maintain without losing control of breathing, which could set off the asthma and potentially ruin everything. So "comfortably hard" pace, all the hills seemed like baby hills to me, and I didn't walk a step the whole time. I never caught the next pace group, which is odd because I finished before they should have... meaning I blew my PR out of the water by over a minute. Almost 8 minutes faster than last week. I was not expecting this. Great race, completed my Crown goal and got a PB. I'm thrilled with all of it.OK so then someone else posted about what one of our run club guys did today (because he didn't even mention it himself). Although there are limited places with ski lifts to certain points, most of the mountains here are typically only accessible on foot. Can't walk? You'll likely never see those places. There was a group that organized an opportunity to have teams take people with physical handicaps up into the Tatry Mountains. This guy was in a group of 5 people who took turns, carrying a young man (weighing 67 kg) on their back in a special carrying sack for 3-10 minutes at a time, up a legitimate mountain, 2172 meters above sea level. He shared a short video clip of them reaching the top, and the young man's joy is so moving. Amazing.
Asthma did kick in AFTER the finish. At that point though, I just stood there trying to calm it down, then one puff of the inhaler and pretty quickly all was well.
Another oddity... there were 2 locker rooms with showers, but neither was marked male or female... sigh. Both ended up being co-ed 🤷♀️ Whatever, the guys were respectful, I got my shower without anyone walking in on me, got dressed and got out of there.
Collected my Crown shirt and medal, and my daughter made me a crown to wear.
Pics: All the shirts & medals from all 4 races. If there are any good pictures from the course, I'll share them later.14 -

Did my October Half Marathon for my monthly challenge. 54F yesterday and 46F this morning, down right cold ha ha
Thanks @Orphia once you get used to it, it’s not too bad. I actually like running that early because the streets are quiet, no school buses etc. Just me and the peace and quiet. I love the cherry blossom pictures.
@quilteryoyo unfortunately I don’t see the stress or insanity stopping until March or so. I’m a test lead and right now what I’m supposed to test is pretty much 99% done, however, the piece that belongs to someone else is like 75% done. Friday we spent most of the fixing a database because a change they made messed up our stuff. It’s a nightmare, I told them for months and months this was going to be a nightmare. What can you do. I can’t believe you’re still moving all that wood.
@garygse congrats again on your Boston race. I hope they move it back to April, made it rough for folks that did Chicago, I think I read 3800 people did both.
@RunsOnEspresso they bing watch Netflix ha ha
@Teresa502 yay for kitty getting a good home.
@sweetdaisy13 that is scary, hopefully that was your only and you have no more.
@ereck44 interesting about the ownership in the race horse. If she’s doing that good why would they sell her?
@quilteryoyo what a sweet pup!
@Scott6255 congrats on 2nd in your AG
@polskagirl01 you get the coolest swag, the crown is the best thing ever! Your daughter is a gem.
@Avidkeo sorry to hear your race was cancelled because of the lockdown.
Woohoo @shanaber and @eleanorhawkins

Great run @katharmonic ! I'm glad the universe listened and you didn't have to run in a cold rain.
Congratulations @polskagirl01 ! That is awesome. Love the crown your daughter made for you! You deserve it. That's an awesome thing the guy in your running group, and the others, did for that young man. I'm sure he'll never forget that experience.
Great run @sweetdaisy13 !
@skippygirlsmom Nice job on your half. Sorry the stress is not going to let up anytime soon. It sounds like a nightmare. BTW, I think most of the wood has been moved now. There is a little more, but it is under cover already, so we my just leave it there. Tippy is a sweet pup, most of the time.3 -

68.41/111 miles completed for October
It was a lovely morning for a long run today. 44°F at the start and only 55° at the end. It was sunny and not too windy. Just really nice running weather. The plan called for 11 miles in 1 hr 46 minutes with a 9:47 average pace. I ran 11.1 miles in 1 hr 58 minutes with an average pace of 10:38. I did run mile 2 in 9:46. It was a nice run and I am not stressing about Hal's paces. He does say not to try to run the long runs too fast. I'm thinking "stop telling me to run them fast".
Looks like there has been a lot of great running. Congrats on your AG award @Scott6255! That is awesome!
Great Half @polakagirl01. Nice swag too! And I love what your running club did.
Congratulations to @shanaber and @Eleanorhawkins on running the year.
We had another day yesterday of going through my parents house. We are almost done. Mom's pretty excited about getting a new couch and some new bedding. She
s also excited about her new apple watch. There has been a kitten hanging around there old house and it was still there today so my husband and I brought her home. So far the dogs are little curious but they seem ok with it. We'll have to see how it goes.'
2021 Races:

@kgirlhart Great running. Glad your mom is excited about her new watch. Are you the one who got it for fall detection? I know someone on here was looking to get one for that. If so, let me know how it works out. I'm thinking about getting one for mom...or at least looking into it. She hasn't fallen, but she is outside walking around by herself a lot, so if she did fall she might be there a while before we found her. I think the same thing about myself too. Getting older and living alone presents challenges that you don't think about when you are younger. That kitten is adorable. I hope the dogs and and her get along well enough for her to stay with you.0

@polskagirl01 Awesome race and good job on the PR.
@Scott6255 Good job on the AG award!

Ran in a different part of the neighborhood today. Just a few gently rolling hills and my favorite weather! Upper 40's in the morning while I was running and high about 70. Just beautiful. I am running again tomorrow morning and it should be similar. I'm really looking forward to it.2 -
Thanks everyone, and @shanaber I hadn't been paying attention to mileage really so that notification came as a shock lol.
Sorry I haven't been around, life is just too hectic to keep up at the moment, seems like whenever I'm not working or cleaning I'm running about. My family started calling me either 'the hobbit' or 'the goat' depending on how many scratches and bruises they can see.6
