I’m feeling vindicated. I KNEW I didn’t sound like I was “upper midwestern”. I think it’s because I’m so close to IL. All those “Wisconsin accent/word jokes” I hear? I don’t know anybody who ever sounds like that.

To me the classic sign of someone with a wisconsin accent is when they pronounce their short o’s in a flat way. Like ‘wisconsin’ sounds more like ‘wiscansin’ but its not that pronounced. Its more in the back of the throat kinda

I have never thought you sound like you have an upper midwestern accent

Every time i watch my kids play baseball and people shout “good eye”, I get the giggles. Sounds like a bunch of friendly Aussies in the stands
