Hi, I know I'm late joining your group, but I only joined mfp a few days ago. Hope it's ok!
Nov (11) Start Weight: 299.2
Current weight: 296.4
Goal for challenge: 290.4
Ultimate Goal: 184
11/11: 299.2
11/12: 299.2
1113: 297.8 ⬇️ (-1.4 lbs)
11/14: 296.4 ⬇️ (-1.4 lbs)
11/15: 294 ⬇️ (-2.4 lbs)
11/16: 294.4⬆️ (+0.4 oz) I had an appointment late yesterday afternoon, to have all my vital organs checked out. That are around and just below, and behind my rib cage. I had to do a complete fast, which meant (no food or liquids, including water) from around 7 pm the night before to after 5 pm yesterday. My body is used to having a lot of water, and I believe this is the main reason for the slight gain this morning. I stayed below my daily calorie intake at dinner.
Nov. 17 : 297.8 ⬆️ (+3.4 lbs)This is definitely my fault. 😩 I'm in an emotional eater, and was feeling a little low yesterday. I did what I would normally do and that's turn to food. I'm working on overcoming this bad habit. I wasn't going to post this, because I felt embarrassed 😔 that I lost control. But. to be honest the closer the holidays come, the more I'll struggle with my feelings. Thanksgiving 🦃 and Christmas 🎄 is a hard time for me since I no longer have family. So I tend to get low and emotional at this time of the year. But, I'm trying to work on not turning to food for comfort. I am trying to find another way to cope over the holidays.
Even though the next 1-1/2 months will be a trying time for me, I refuse to give up.

Thank you, @sammcc2
Have been having some sharp pains under my left breast, under my rib cage. My Doctor wanted some test done to see if they could find out what's going on. Dr's office is sometimes slow to respond back to me, about test results, unless it's an emergency. Once, I know the results, I'll let you know.
I have many health issues, and there seems to always be something new happening in my body.4 -
My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 61 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Starting Weight (from Oct 31st): 188.2
Goal: 183.2 (Five lb Loss)
Actual Loss for November: xxxxx
**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************
11/01…...189.4…..(Trend Weight 187.7)….. Pizza and Candy does not a slender person make.
11/02.…..189.0…..(Trend Weight 187.8)….. Scale down. Trend up. Not good. I’m going to work harder in November. October was a mess. Especially with surgery and so much long-distance medical travel. Even with Thanksgiving coming up this month, I hope things will be much much better.
11/03.…..189.0…..(Trend Weight 187.9}…..Good news. No cancer found in the lumpectomy. What a relief! Today is my DD#2 birthday (the one who lives with me. Today will be special dinner, cake, ice cream and the trimmings. So many things to celebrate today. Tomorrow, back on track!
11/04.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 188.1)….. Okay. The celebrations are all over. Today I will pawn the leftovers off on my workers and make a good dietary plan regardless of what the others in the house do. Today I take my grandsons to their hair appointments. I always get them lunch or dinner afterward (dinner today because it’s a school day). I will not be ordering for myself. Getting serious here . I need a good streak!
11/05.…..188.8…..(Trend Weight 188.2)…..Diet on point yesterday so there’s the drop. Still trending up, however, due to all the bad days since surgery. Next stop…..turning that around too!
11/06.…..188.0…..(Trend Weight 188.2)….. Progress!
11/07.…..189.0…..(Trend Weight 188.2)….. A day very similar to yesterday except no TMI and a little short on steps & water. TMI makes a big difference on the scale.
11/08.…..189.2…..(Trend Weight 188.2)….. Lots of calorie burn yesterday raking for over 3 hours. But too many high cal snacks last night too. You can’t outrun the fork!
11/09.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 188.4)….. No TMI again. Very early weigh-in after, essentially, no sleep and all those other excuses. Yesterday it was not on my daughter. It was on me. I know what good habits are. I know what low calorie is and what low carb can do to help me. I recognize the right foods. It’s time to stop glancing at it all and start staring at what I need to do. It has been out of control since just before my surgery.
11/10-.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 188.6)….. bingeing is not the way to lose weight. I’ve got to get control here!
11/11-.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 188.6)….. For every obvious reason, I hate this new format. Too limiting….
11/12-.…..189.4…..(Trend Weight 188.8)…..Still navigating the new format and still hating it. Dr. appointment yesterday revealed that I will need to see a cardiologist after I failed the two pre-op EKG’s. I also will need to see an endocronologist for my T2D. Time to get serious about my diet and exercise plans again!
11/13-.…..189.2…..(Trend Weight 189.0)….. Scale going down again, trend weight going up again. Look what I did to myself! Hoping for another good day. Yesterday’s meals were excellent. Snacks, meh!
11/14-.…..191.0…..(Trend Weight 189.2)….. Traveled yesterday. Weight showed up from dinner out and lots of car driving (inactivity). I’ll work it off today as much as possible. Obviously I am disappointed that one meal would make such a negative difference.
11/15-……191.0…..(Trend Weight 189.3)….. I ate leftover Chinese food from my travel day. Other meals were good too. Snacks were definitely better. I honestly thought I would see a zero-point-something drop but not today. Something I have to look forward to, I guess.
11/16-……189.6…..(Trend Weight 189.4)….. Meals were perfectly on point yesterday although exercise level was low. So happy for this drop. I snuck into DGS Halloween basket last night. That needs to no become a habit.
11/17-.…..189.8…..(Trend Weight 189.4)….. Epic Fail. I made a big dinner for the entire crew last night that is doing my home renovations. It was healthy but a little too hardy since I ate too much! Back at it today.
11/18-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
11/19-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
11/20-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
11/21-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
11/22-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
11/23-.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..

My fear of going to bed hungry has led to my saving too many calories for late at night and being hungry during the day. I'm going to add back some breakfast this am to see if it reduces my hunger during the day.
Happy with my recovery from my birthday bump. Now if I can drop another 1.9 by month's end, I'll reach my December 1 goal weight of 192. But...did someone say Thanksgiving?8 -
I just want to say how proud I am of all of us. ❤️
This is not an easy journey…and there have been and will be potholes along the way. But, we are here for each other through the great times and the hard times… through the struggles and the successes. My pledge to you is that these monthly challenges will continue through 2022…. And beyond!
I love the daily check ins with you all… even if it’s just sending “likes” and “ hugs” after your posts. We are on this crazy ride together… helping and supporting each other.

My stress relief is knitting. I make scarves for family and friends. At the end of the day it stops me from snacking, and stops me from falling asleep while watching TV.

Thanks, Jill, for doing this. It’s really helpful and I plan on being part of future months. This isn’t an easy thing and we’re going through it together. Every day I’m inspired by others here.7 -

At least you are on top of it and it sounds like you are setting yourself up for a good attitude with regards to your food logging.
My husband was diagnosed with cancer in August and we are currently battling that.
The funny thing for me was that using MFP and watching my weight is the one thing I can currently control and that mindset seems to be working for me
All the best for everything

Highest Weight: 202.7 (in may 21 but was probably 240-250lbs in my 20s)
Current Weight: 162.6
November Weight lost so far: 0.6
November 1 162.6
November 2 162.8
November 3 163.3 post-TOM bounce - find these hard to handle 😬
November 4 163.7 fingers crossed this is the peak now…
November 5 164.1 argh trying to hold my nerve - when I panic I end up restricting and binging. This happens every cycle but I find it so hard every time 😖
November 6 164.4 peak is slowing at least 😂
November 7 165.1
November 8 165.3 didn’t check in yesterday as had a family celebration- but had weighed at least. Keep checking back to last cycle to see that this ‘bump’ (which feels more like a mountain right now) is normal, and it totally is for me. I just can’t seem to get use to it and keep wanting to do something drastic. Holding my nerve….
November 9 165.4
November 10 165.3 phew! This is my trend weight - actual weight reading is down a full lb in the last couple of days so hopeful the trend will follow
november 11 164.8 yay!!
November12 164. Feeling much more settled now. Also noticing a big improvement in my flexibility today which has given me a real boost.
November 13 163. The trend is looking much better. Tough weekend ahead though - lots of socialising. I navigated a night out last night really well though (can under calories and just 2 G&Ts all night so no hangover - winning!)
November 14 162.8
November 15 162.8. It’s my 6 month anniversary of logging in today. Plus I managed to run up the hill to my house without stopping this morning (it’s very steep and long). I’ve had a great weekend with friends too so all in all a fab start to the week. Happy Monday folks ☺️

I’m Marsha. I’m 54 years old, 5’9” tall and my first goal is to get under 200 pounds. My ultimate and hopefully maintainable goal is 175 pounds….
Highest weight: 298 - I've never admitted this anywhere, even my MFP profile shows a much lower weight
Starting Weight: 205 - I have gotten under 200 but haven't been able to maintain it.
Current weight: 200
November weight lost: 5lbs includes 3lbs of water - post cheat day
November Goals:
Lose 10 pounds - 3lbs water, 7lbs just under 2lbs per week a bit ambitious
Continue to Log Daily
Continue to Weigh-in daily
'Flash' everything in my news feed (not working because photos won't uploand to MFP 90% of the time) before I eat it for accountability, logging isn't having the same effect. Honestly I don't look at anyones food logs, who has that kind of time?!?
November 1: 205
November 2: 202 - the joy of water loss[/quote]
November 3: 201
November 4: 202 - water loss is over, the real work begins.
November 5: 201
November 6: 200 - Cheat Day!
November 7: 202 - back to working it
November 8: 201
November 9: 201
November 10: 200 - ready to kiss the 200's goodbye, for good!
November 11: 199 - Whoop! Whoop!
November 12: 199 - the dilemma, tomorrow is cheat day.Cheat day always results in a temporary weight gain, usually for a day or two. Cheat day has several reasons for being important to my weight loss. Knowing that I have an upcoming cheat day where I can eat whatever and how much I want makes it super easy to stick to the food plan the other 6 days. Also, spiking calories keeps my metabolic rate, thyroid and hormones from slowing down. Teetering on the border of 200's makes me want to put off cheat day. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. It is more important to keep metabolic, thyroid and hormones going for continued weight loss rather than focus on the number on the scale. Cheat day it is. lol
November 13: 199.0 Cheat day has arrived. Scale has been stable for 3 days. Time to shake things up.
November 14: 202, post cheat day gain which will be gone in a day or two. To gain 3lbs would require over 12,000 excess calories in one day. Even on my worst cheat days for me that is not a possible number. Also, subtract basic resting metabolism and the required calories for an actual fat gain are even higher. This is why not to get too excited at daily fluctuations. Carbs hold water. A change in food can cause delays in elimination that will show up on the scale but will resolve in a day or two. The scale is only 1 and not the only method of tracking weight.
November 15: 201 Cheat day water gain coming off slowly, partially due to muscles holding from exercise. I am sore! Don't get excited about flutations, the body has a lot to keep up with and sometimes needs to hold extra fluid.
November 16: 200 I always weigh daily to see the trends and how different foods affect my body. Knowing these effects keeps me from bring concerned when the scale doesn't read what I want it to
November 17: 200 late dinner then straight to bed showing on the scale today, not my plan. Feeling a big frustrated. Considering have a cheat meal rather than a cheat day Saturday especially with Thanksgiving coming up and that will definetly be a cheat day.
November 18: 200 struggling this week! Sweets are everywhere! Had 30g of protein within 30 minutes this morning hoping that it is true that will help satiety. I definetly feel full right now. I was really hopeful to reach goal. With 12 days left in the month it does not seem likely. I'll have a cheat meal on Saturdays this month and a cheat day on Thanksgiving and try to lose 2-3 lbs around that.8
