I'm fitting more comfortably into a dress I got myself a few weeks ago 😁16

Since the past couple of weeks I've been doing fasted cardio in the morning!! Me who thinks I'll faint if I don't eat every two hours!! My dinner is done by 7:30-8pm and I walk for 75-80 mins early in the morning without feeling too weak!! I m also trying to adopt "I will eat less" mantra since the past couple of days. So far so good!!✌️✌️🙌💖💓❣️17

Said no to a giant plate of cinnamon rolls my sister brought me without asking if I wanted any. Just.looking at the pile of frosting made my stomach hurt!15

NSV: 3mph! Yeah, I realize everybody else has probably been going this speed forever. But I have been going 2mph for over 2 decades. I literally had to google "how to walk fast". I kept trying to make my stride longer, and I was injuring my hips in the process *doh*. I learned, super short strides = faster person. Now, I am so fast! I can keep up with the hubby! I can keep up with the dog!! Everything is so much easier now!!! Walking did not come with a manual, but if it did I definitely would recommend it.27

Yesterday my 3 year old and I were at the neighborhood playground. There was a big family with lots of kids (brothers, sisters, cousins). They all had to leave just as my daughter was having fun with them. She sat there at the top of the slide and said "Everyone has to leave. I guess I have to play by myself." Being an only child myself, I felt for her. I said "Let's have some fun!" I climbed up the ladder, crawled through the tube, and slid down the slide (fell on my bottom the first time lol). I relish these moments because it's the main reason I've lost weight and hope to keep it off.32

I had a look around the charity shops yesterday for a winter coat as I'm not spending any more money on clothes until I'm in maintenance.
The ones I liked were all too big.
This is a new problem - I liked it - even though I'm cold 😄

I stopped using MFP for a while because I needed a break from tracking every single thing I ate and every single bit of movement. Did I gain weight? Yes. Does it matter? Not really.
During that time off I was able to set some goals for myself that have nothing to do with numbers. Not calories in/out. Not the scale. Not the number on the tag in my pants.
I've been able to remember that I enjoy being active and it doesn't matter how many calories what I'm doing burns. It doesn't matter if I do it for five minutes or an hour. What matters is that I like doing it! The mental and emotional benefits of being active FAR outweigh how many calories it burns!
I'm back on MFP because I truly miss the community and I feel ready to gently make some changes. This is my favorite group and I always feel so encouraged when I read all the posts.
I've had a similar experience. I'm in maintenance (in theory at least), but have been mostly away from mfp since the summer. I've been working out really regularly, but I've also gained weight fairly steadily. Like you, my focus is on activity at present, but I do want to try not to gain my way back out of normal bmi, so I'm back here and logging to lose a couple of kg. For me that's the nsv: realising what I want my limits to be, and really taking maintenance seriously. I'm trying to make my "do something about this" weight 79kg instead of 88kg (which for me according to bmi is borderline obese). I know the issues with bmi, especially as I gain muscle, but I'm hoping this approach might work for me.12 -
After church today, we went to Perkins for brunch, and as we were waiting in the lobby for a table, a couple sitting next to us began to chat with us. The wife asked if I happened to have a sister named Gina. "That's me," I said. She was shocked at my weight loss of almost 80 pounds. Naturally, this conversation made my day!24

On my Elliptical workout, I've noticed I'm not as sweaty as I was when I started. Must be getting in better shape!18

I've been increasing my running volume, in an attempt to improve my performance.
Aside from being able to increase my speed, I ran more than 100km this month, which is definitely a record and allowed me to complete Strava's November running challenge.
Not bad considering I didn't really like running up to a few years ago (completed c25k once but stopped after that).14 -
My NSV is calf muscles. Actual visible muscle contours!
When I broke my leg a few years ago, I remember being fascinated/horrified by the empty flap of skin that was my calf after the cast came off. It's quite unbelievable to me that I now have visible muscle there (they were not muscular before either).
I may have not lost much weight this year, but the shape of my body is slowly changing with regular exercise and a moderate diet (very slight deficit).19 -
NSV - working out on thanksgiving day just because I wanted to!14
-
Purchased bras 2 size smaller and they nicely fit and now I can buy them off the rack Instead of the plus size store. And it wasn't as expensive as my purchases before.17
-
I avoided eating fistfuls of candy and holiday treats at Thanksgiving. Yes, I had pie. Yes, I ate more food than my typical calorie-deficit day. But I did not graze on junk all day like I usually do at holidays.
When I went through my numbers for the week, I was higher than my normal deficit, but hadn't gone as high as maintenance calories. I'll call that a major win for 3 days of family and junk food.18 -
I made three and a half dozen chocolate chip cookies.
One dozen (minus two) went into the cabinet in a container, for Son's lunches. (Two went in a bag to go to work with him tomorrow, and into the lunch box.)
Two dozen got wrapped up by the dozen and put in the freezer, for the next two week's lunches.
The remaining six will go nicely with lunch tomorrow, two for each of the three of us who work from home. Two is a very rational portion. Me, I'll have one, because I've found the sugar in two makes my head wonky. My tolerance has gone down. I don't regard that as a problem.
Yeah, I could have one tonight. For that matter, I could have all six tonight; they've all gone to bed and no one would know.
But I don't want one.21 -
I have an extra stomach roll.
Might sound like a bad thing but it's definitely good. It means I'm getting a waistline again. It means I don't have one big blob stomach anymore but I'm getting shape into it 🎉31 -
I am on day 2 of my meal prep fitness plan. Its the first time in forever I've made an effort to work on my body and health. I have the whole week prepped out and its going great! I am so inspired to see results!17

I had a minor bumper to bumper yesterday on my way to work. (Nothing happened; it's all good.) I was upset with myself for getting into that situation, but it didn't ruin my day and not even once did I think of eating to calm my guilty feeling. Actually I didn't think of food until I was driving back home in the evening and thinking about how the day went, that I realized that I didn't have the urge to eat just to make myself feel better. I got home, cooked dinner and ate normally with my family. Now that is an NSV for me!!!25

I started MFP again today. I'm embarrassed at having put back on everything I'd previously lost, so I started a new account (had to get a new email address just to sign up!).
At work, I enlisted 3 friends to keep me accountable. Not to what I'm eating necessarily, because that can get creepy. I've just asked them to check with me if I logged today. Today is a new first day, and yes, I've logged today.22 -

Don't be embarrassed. Life happens. Kudos to you for coming back! That's all that matters.16 -
Had to eat out for 3 days of fast food near a hospital, stayed within calories, somehow. Not much food compared to what I eat at home so made it count. A noodle restaurant was highly recommended, since I didn't know what the macro counts were decided to eat from a place I did know.12

I've now started wearing a belt with my "smaller" jeans. I'd say I'm about a month away from having to go the next size down. Also, I had homemade pizza two days this week and managed to stay in my calorie budget (although yesterday I ate back about half of my workout calories). It has ground turkey, spinach, bell peppers, chopped onions, and vegan mozzarella on it (lactose issues). Made the dough thin sliced and brushed some olive oil on the edge to give it a crispy crust. Yum!10

I can circle my wrist with my other hand with room to spare!12

I understand how you feel. I've gained back 31 lbs of 56 lb weight loss. I tried to pretend it wasn't happening but I finally had to face it when none of my pants fit anymore. I find it embarrassing as well. I'm not embarrassed to be back here (MFP) but it's embarrassing to see that my family sees it.
My husband has always like to buy me clothes at Christmas and he's not sure what size to buy now. He asked me for my measurements and I felt soooooo bad. He never makes any negative comments about my body but still, I was mortified when I had to measure myself. I told myself it was better to give him the measurements than end up with a bunch of clothes that are too small come Christmas morning. That would be so much worse.
One day at a time. One meal at a time. Things will get better.21 -

That clothing-size thing is what finally pushed me over the edge to start again, embarrassed or not. I had gotten down into Medium sizes and currently have to buy Larges and I don't like that. You're right that it's better to have clothes that fit at whatever your current size is, but I don't want to buy any more Larges!10 -
Every pair of pants in my closet is either loose or too big. My wife convinced me to purchase a pair of size 34 jeans and when I tried them on, they fit comfortably. I haven't worn a 34 since I was 16 years old, so this is a huge NSV for me!27

Bought a tee shirt from that giant river-named online store for Thanksgiving. I measured myself before ordering because I really don't know where I am at the moment. It put me somewhere between a medium and a large. I did NOT believe this (I've been XL or a little more for a long time). I bought the large. It was baggy! Now, either this is some vanity sizing or I'm smaller than I realize (or both?).
Also a scale victory: I'm officially out of the overweight BMI range and in the normal BMI range! My goal is to get down into the center of the normal range so that I have wiggle room for maintenance.

I felt slimmer today 😁
I know I must be slimmer because I've lost 53lbs but sometimes it doesn't register.
I felt light on my feet and good about myself which is a welcome emotion!23 -
This morning, my husband made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Normally, I would just eat them however he made them and then feel bad the rest of the day. I always used the "I've blown it so just eat everything" excuse not to track. Today, I asked him to make mine without using any butter or extra sugar. He did. Then, rather than drenching my plate with syrup, I measured out the serving size of 2 tablespoons. It seemed like it was hardly any syrup and I thought I would feel deprived. But I didn't!
This is my fourth day of tracking everything (starting over again ) and I'm learning that I'm okay with one serving of whatever it is. I tell myself that if I really want more, I can go back for more. So far, I haven't gone back for more.28 -
Oh, wow!!!! I just went to shave my legs, tensed up my calve, and nearly dropped the razor when I saw it looked like a big old hard round walnut, with that little muscle crease that goes down the middle, like a real athlete has. (Not a play one like me!)
When the heck did that happen?!
I’m thrilled (but equally horrified at sharing how rarely I shave my legs, lololol.)23
