This one will maybe be unpopular, but it's an NSV in my world:
Spending Christmas alone (pandemic, etc.), I decided I'd celebrate by planning, cooking, and eating whatever I wanted on Christmas Day, as much as I wanted, not worrying much about nutritional balance. (I've been in maintenance long enough to know that whatever I do in one very rare day has very little meaning in the big picture.)
I've proven myself, on occasional random days in maintenance, to be able to eat 4000-5000+ calories on the rare day, which is maybe 2-2.5 times TDEE.
Christmas day, I went ahead with my plan, noted down everything so I could post-log the recipes and such, but just cooked and ate happily. (Big portion of oven fried potatoes with a swimming pool of ketchup for breakfast, a crustless savory pumpkin/ricotta pie with herbs for lunch, black bean/queso fresco tamale casserole topped with avocado mash and Greek yogurt for supper, coffee with frothed milk with breakfast, red wine on the side for lunch/dinner.)
I was full and happy, by the end of the day.
Next day, added it up: I figure about 2,875 calories, so 800-ish over maintenance. I exceeded my protein goal (always good, for a vegetarian eating ad libitum without paying attention to it), of course exceeded carbs/fats. Got some good veggies in there, too, so pretty good micros and 39g fiber.
Better yet, I have leftovers of the ricotta/pumpkin pie (161 calories per 1/8 of big pie), and the tamale casserole (327 calories per 1/8 of good-sized casserole dish), and they'll freeze well for future meals. (I did eat >1 serving of each on Christmas Day! 😉)
I'm happy with this, all the way around.
I think that very often, the things I now want and eat tend to be lower in calories and more nutritious than they used to be, automatically, without even thinking about it: Seems like an NSV to me.36 -

Not even REMOTELY unpopular in my world. I'd call it a victory, but you won this battle a long time ago. I see people from time to time say, "I'm not logging for xx day." I don't understand that. I totally get giving yourself permission to take a day and essentially commit the deadly sin of gluttony. It's actually built in to some of our holidays and why it makes people say they don't log. I say you've got the totally right approach. Go ahead and have the celebration. Then, be honest with YOURSELF and log it. I've had days at 100% over my maintenance goal. I log 'em. My body knows I ate them, so why lie to myself?
The other victory here is that there is no guilt associated with having the day of your choice. I think our culture has too much guilt. That's maybe another reason people won't log. Other people might see it. Who cares what other people think about what I eat?
Logical, reasoned and happy approach to making a small departure from the program. Plus you usually bank calories. It's like saving up for a new truck. You can keep stashing money away, but then at some point you have to buy the truck and start saving up again.

I'm starting to see changes in a lot of bodyparts. My hands & fingers are skinnier. A pair of shoes I couldn't wear anymore I fit into again. My calves look a lot more defined and my ankles are visible again. My triple chin has changed into a double chin. The tops of my shoulders & neck are looking better.
It's definitely true what they say about losing weight happens everywhere but last in the place you want it most, but it's very different to actually experience it yourself than reading it.
(For reference, I'm about 3 months in and have lost about 7 kilo's)
A sorta scale victory but also NSV is that I'm obese class 2 instead of 3 now. This right after the food holidays 😱15 -
The thing about logging is that you do it every day. I have stayed on track because I log. I often go over my calorie goal but it’s more likely an educational tool about myself and how I am working on this goal and the efforts I am putting in to work on it. I am having some success having days within my calorie goal this week because of all the days I’ve seen how much I’m eating and what it takes to eat to lose weight. Anyway logging is a NSV and a training I have undertaken. I think it is going to work!14

Bravo @AnnPT77 I ate everything I wanted on Christmas too, and then made sure to leave the higher calorie and tempting leftovers at my family member's house. My weight definitely bumped up, but is well on its way back to where I started. Just a few more days should get me there and I'm thrilled that I can enjoy my favorite holiday meals and treats without guilt.14

This last weekend, I ate everything I wanted MINDFULLY. I put on almost 5 lbs, but my NSV is that I am not punishing myself and I certainly am back at eating sensibly.14

I agree about logging, even when I know I’ve gone over. & trying to get fairly accurate about size & calorie count of things. Guessing small or taking the lowest calorie option won’t help at all.

Agree with the logging. I like to log ahead of time and plan.....in fact I do this every day. If l look like l will be, let's say even 11 caloriesover, well then I adjust my portion or do a little extra cardio. l like my under to be between 1-40 calories

I got back out for my 5K jog this morning. Yes it was slow, and yes I felt it, especially that last kilometre, but after 4 weeks off with my back, I am FINALLY back at it. I’m taking it slow for the next month or so just to make sure I don’t flare my back up.
I went through my “too small” pile yesterday and everything bar one pair of shorts (funnily enough the ones Im looking forward to wearing the most) fit! And even that pair of shorts button and zip, there’s just too much muffin top for me to wear them comfortably. But I’m excited about fitting these clothes. Some of them I have had for 10+ years (because I always had faith that I would fit them one day) I am now putting everything that is too big in a pile to list for sale so that I can afford to buy some new smaller clothes as I will not have many that fit before too long!
Scale victory- I moved from Obese to simply being Overweight on Monday!24 -
I was out of town for Christmas week and ate everything in moderation and I only gained 0.2 pounds. My new habit of eating in moderation is truly working. I had candy, pie, cake, casseroles, prime rib, and even rolls. WOOHOOOOoo16

When I first started losing weight, I could only think of food rewards for hitting the next weight down. But this week, I hit 50 lbs lost and decided that, instead of the cupcakes I'd planned, that I was going to give myself a pedicure to celebrate.24

The other half craved a DQ ice cream cone last night. I rode with him but had absolutely no desire for any of the nomnoms on the menu. Came home and enjoyed a lovely (and giant) bowl of pumpkin pudding I had made earlier.
Ordered some clothes from a couple of UK companies with great post Christmas sales, and also a tight cycling jacket (I don’t do that kind of cycling but I love the colorful gear).
Followed the sizing instructions, read the reviews about “size up” or “size down” on all and am pretty confident everything will fit. That used to be such a crapshoot in the XXLs.20 -
I did a set of inclined pushups the other day and my previously-injured shoulder did not freak out about it. This is a huge win for me! I've been using an elliptical for the last 5 months, and have noticed less overall pain, clicking, and other shoulder weirdness as time has progressed. I suppose the arm movement from the elliptical has been enough to strength the muscles around the joint enough to keep it more stable now. Yay!
Now I can (slowly) add more strength training into my weekly exercise routine. You know, like active people do. Am I one of the "active people" now?15 -
Been going on 3 to 4 mile walks every other morning. Taking advantage of some great weather!10

My nsv was to complete a 200lb lift on a close hand lat pull at 4 reps!! I have worked consistently on this exersise for a number of months. I also completed 2 reps unassisted on the bench press at 115 lbs. This makes me feel great as I turned 60 this past November. Going for more weight on the press as I go along.15

A previously tight & a previously skintight shirt fit again. The skintight one I won't wear in public for a while but it's great to know how it used to be to tight to breath in and now it's just tight.
Soon it won't be uncomfortably tight anymore 😊14 -
I had several NSV this week. I went to Macy's to look for a dress, straight upstairs as that is where the dresses are...women's size dresses! I had to go back downstairs to the regular sizes. So many years of habit to go upstairs. I baked a cake for Christmas dinner, cranberry orange with buttercream frosting, all from scratch and I forgot all about it. It's a first for me to have a cake in the house that does not call to me. And my rings are too big again! I think I will pack then away for the last 20 lbs then have them sized for the last time15

That's it! Like how I wanted to go for a walk around the parking lot this a.m. Didn't feel like it, did it anyway--and then went on around the building for good measure. Felt GREAT, and I met an adorable doggo! My journey has been long and slow, but before I started, walking to the far end of the parking lot and straight back would have been all I could handle. Even with just that, it would not have felt good, let alone great. NSV for sure.13

My angel wings flap to the wrist. They used to stop at the elbow.3

My posture, gait, speed and stamina have improved since I watch a video on how to walk. When I go places, I remember to keep my head up, shoulders back, core in, heel first, butt tucked and back straight. I might not be taller, but this helps my confidence.

NSV: I actually mopped the whole house in less than an hour AFTER my 5.5 mile walk. It used to take 2 days to do, even though we have a small one story 1500 sq ft home - gah, it was soo hard! And that was without any walk to tire me out!
NSV: I paid $20 for 4 dresses now that I am in normal people sizes (I am currently a large, although I am quickly moving into a medium in skirts - this is just weird but I am trying to ignore all the weird feels). Whew! I was not wanting to spend a lot of money, since I don't know what size will be for maintenance. I could NEVER have done this at plus sizes. I used to really resent the prices that I had to pay for clothes, and I am not a fancy person with all the name brands and what not.13 -
Completed my first week of exercising for at least 30 minutes for 6/7 days! Tomorrow is rest and then on to week 2!19

63 weeks ago I made the decision to live life.
I was sitting in the recliner complaining about how much I could NOT do.
Today I have gained so much stability and strength. I weigh 30 lbs less than I did before the 3 hip and back surgeries.
I went from 237.2 to 180.6 as of today!
Every day I make the choice to be active and eat all things in moderation. 💛 What are you choosing today?38 -
I ordered my very first pair of leggings. I figured they would be great for exercising. I usually wear an XL in pants due to my ample badonkadonk. I ordered a large size and was very nervous they wouldn't fit. Imagine my delight when I put them on and they looked great!19

My NSV is how glorious it was to wake up this New Years morning and not have “lose weight” on my resolution list.
In fact, I don’t have any resolutions. The weight, the stress, the snarky attitude (well, mostly) we’re al part and parcel.
So I resolve to have NO resolution this year- other than maintaining.37 -
I was feeling my chin last night and realized that some of the loose skin under my jaw has retracted so I am losing the wattles I had started to develop. WOOHOO!27
