I bought new jeans in size 10 in June, thinking that that would be my new size. I've been maintaining since then. But I found that, with my weights, yoga, and Barre routines, I've toned up. My size 10s were too loose except with a belt. Last week I bought size 8 that fits perfectly! Haven't been that size in maybe 20 years!25

At the beginning of 2021, my A1C was 6.1--in the pre-diabetes range! Yikes. Today--one year later, it is 5.3. Firmly in the normal range. Motivation to keep doing what I've been doing.16

I had no plans for New Year's Day, so
I decided to be active. I did an unplanned (until 7 a.m. when I woke up) walk of 26 miles over many hills. A few years ago, this would have broken me.26 -
the simple thing of... your shirt or blouse fitting over your head more easily and the buttons don't gap.15

I put on 3lb when I weighed in at Christmas but I'm not worried as I know it'll come off.
Yesterday I started a sort out, I have my Mums old wardrobe that I keep clothes in and I'm supposed to swap things out depending on seasons but really I just put things in there that didn't fit anymore that I didn't want to throw. Well now I had no choice but to throw them because nothing fit! I got rid of 96 items of clothing, 6 pairs of PJs and 2 dressing gowns. And the 3 vintage-look tshirts I bought on my first trip to Vegas (my favourite place) now fit!
I checked my Samsung Health on New Years Eve and since I started walking in February 2021 I've done 427.67 miles and it was a steady increase over the year so I'm looking forward to seeing what this year brings. Plus I'm currently on a 16day step target streak!23 -
I am now on my second closet cleaning and have over 2 lawn bags full of clothes that will never fit again.18

Today's NSV was that I did yoga today
I had overeaten a bit (I made homemade pumpkin pie) but was still within a deficit. I was really tempted to just write it off and go to bed, but then I saw that Yoga with Adriene had a new challenge up and told myself to get 20 minutes of activity in. I ended up falling on my *kitten* 2/3 of the way through, but I had so much fun! I knocked out half of the overage and feel so proud of myself ^_^17 -
My mom surprised me with some Christmas cash, and everything I wanted to buy was fitness related.14

Thought of another one...I've been oddly squirrelly about the scale since I've been in maintenance. Far more so than I was while losing. I guess I'm still afraid I'll somehow slip and gain everything back if I'm not hypervigilant. It's not a good headspace to live that way, so I deliberately tried to let it all go while I spent four days at my mom's house eating all the holiday goodies she made. I logged as best I could, but I tried not to look at the totals. So tonight when I got home, I deliberately got on the scale right after eating dinner KNOWING I'd see a big number, and I did.
My NSV is that it didn't bother me like I thought it would. First of all, I knew it was inaccurate because of the time of day and the inevitable water gain from all the rich food. But the main NSV is that I feel confident in my ability to drop whatever is legit, so I'm not freaked out. On the contrary, I'm glad to be back home to my normal eating patterns, and I love that it doesn't feel like a big deal to me to downshift my calories a little. Because of covid, this is the first holiday I've gone to my mom's since I lost weight, and it feels good to see that my brain is beginning to BELIEVE that I can maintain without obsessing.17 -
I can take my left hand and reach over my right arm and touch the underside of my arm skin and onto my ribcage for the first time in over a decade. My collarbone is becoming visible, I can feel my shoulders - my actual shoulders, through my skin (without the thick layer of padding that used to be there). My skin texture has come back to normal, my hair has gotten glossier, and my legs no longer push my socks back down to my ankles, I can extend the cuff up my leg a little and they stay that way. I never knew how much that would mean to me until I couldn't do it anymore.21

Go you! I am also doing that challenge. I almost chickened out about twenty seven times before it started and now I'm a day behind, but I started with day one yesterday, and shortly found myself doing the three-legged dog pose and thinking "wow!" There were lots of parts I didn't try because I didn't want to fall on my kitty, but I did some yoga and it felt GREAT.

I agreed to do some 3am-1:30pm shifts (instead of my usual 7am-5:30pm) while we are waiting for the person who is usually in that role to be able to get back due to covid travel restrictions, starting tomorrow.
I have already made a plan to get enough sleep (albeit split) AND still fit in my 5Km jog and horse ride. Yay for keeping the habits going even when my routine is disturbed16 -

Haha, three-legged dog was the one I fell over with! I over-extended the lifted leg and just went *whoop!* XD Glad to hear you did some yoga and overcame the fear!4 -
I only ate the snacks I brought to work today.12

-2F at 5AM. My husband tells me that I can take a day off of going to spin class. I thought about it, but I got up and took the class.25

The nurse called yesterday with my test results and my A1C levels were in the normal range!!!! I’ve been prediabetic for a while, and I’m reversing it!36
-
Last night I was about 200 calories under my limit, and instead of going and finding something to fill that in, I decided that I could just let it be. I've been over more than once this week, so I can come in under once in a while!24

I get cold a little easier than I used to. Turns out I don't have as much "insulation" as I used to.13
-
Got out of the bath today and wrapped a towel around myself. Caught my collarbones in the mirror as I walked by - they are really popping now! I didn't know they could look like that. I feel excited about this summer and wearing cute little clothes! I feel so normal now and I still have around 30 pounds to go.16

Went into my "someday" clothes today. Turns out someday was today.44
