Hi all, I've used MFP for 10 years fairly consistently and have seen good progress, I lost a little fat and gained a reasonable amount of muscle in my late 40s. I'm 10kg heavier than when I started 10 years ago but a much better shape.
The last few months have seen me slip back a bit with injuries but I'm recovered now and back in the game!
Now fancy pushing it a bit harder for a while, this will be my first ever challenge, 3 months seems possible and is long enough to see progress if I can stick to it.
I'm going to try to maintain 700 calorie daily defecit and weight training 5 days a week.
Good luck everyone!

Hope everyone is off to a great start for the new year. I'm cleaning out my bookmarks, as I have things saved from 2020 when I started😉😀!! It will just make it easier for me to get to what is current. It was really fun to go back and see losses in the challenges when I first started. So, though it may have been bittersweet, to "unmark" them... I love that there is a little less clutter. 😎6 -

Hello, hoping I can join. I'm 5 ft 2 and petite so every pound shows. Since hitting menopause it's not so easy to keep the weight stable and I've put on half a stone in a few months so want to draw a halt, especially as it only goes on your waistline at this age. I blame learning to bake.

My name is Donna. I am 61 years old, 5' 5" tall. I live in the Midwest of USA. I am in remission for breast cancer, have Type 2 Diabetes, an under active thyroid, a touch of high blood pressure, some osteoporosis and am working to get healthier. I know losing weight and exercising more will help all of these issues.
CHALLENGE TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: Total Loss of 15 pounds to land at 176.5 (Wow! That sounds like a dream. But…dreams do come true!)
CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT (FROM Dec 31, 2021): 191.5
CHALLENGE ENDING WEIGHT:
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s
I TRY TO WEIGH ON THE 1ST AND LAST DAY OF EACH MONTH ALSO. I HAVE MADE THE GOAL OF LOSING A LITTLE MORE IN SEPT AND OCT AND KEEPING IT A LITTLE LESS THROUGH THE NOV AND DEC HOLIDAYS (AND BAKING SEASON.) I THINK THAT 15 POUNDS OVERALL IS A MORE REALISTIC GOAL FOR ME ESPECIALLY SINCE I LIVE IN A VERY SNOWY AND ICY AREA AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES AND EXERCISE ARE DIFFICULT AFTER OCTOBER 1ST. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I GET AND STAY AT A HEALTHY WEIGHT DUE TO HEALTH REASONS I WILL SHARE ALONG THE WAY. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! I AM ROOTING FOR YOU AND SUPPORTING YOU ALL 100% WE CAN DO THIS!
Start Weight: (From Dec. 31, 2021): 191.5…..(Trend Weight: 191.7)
Jan 01….. 190.0….. (Trend Weight: 191.5)….. . On December 31, 2020 my weight was at 207.0. I am down 15.4 pounds this year and for that I am grateful. I plan on working even harder in 2022. Happy New Year everyone!
Jan 06….. 194.0….. (Trend Weight: 191.8)….. I am spiraling out of control very quickly and I’m quite sure it is not water weight. I have been trapped in my livingroom for 8 days with a full floor (except livingroom) flooring reno on main floor. No exercise or movement. No stove or fridge etc. Just grabbing food and choosing as best I can but mainly no calorie burn. I’ve got to turn this ship around! Flooring specialists will be back today. I am hoping that a good portion will finally be completed!
Jan 13….. 192.8….. (Trend Weight: 192.3)….. Better than last week but I’m rocking back and forth in the same 1.5 pounds so that tells me that I need more changes and they need to stick. Watching these stack of numbers also helps see the trends. I am grateful for this challenge.

I am 62 years old and would like to lose about 20 lbs to reach my goal of 140. My short term goal to hit 150 by my birthday at the end of March (I’m being realistic for myself). I want to be at my goal of 140 by June.

Uuuggghhhh!!
How am I putting ON weight!!!
Strict diet saw a massive initial drop - lots of water weight. I’ve stayed active and tracked my calories and always below 1250 … how can I be gaining weight. In the last 3 days gained 0.2lb per day??
Very annoying especially as I go away in 6 weeks and aim to weigh <126lb by then!!

No loss this week, despite being under my calorie intake each day and weighing food. I may have to adjust my intake from 1500 to 1400. From experience, I know I can’t go below that - I’ll be too hungry and will not enjoy my meals.

Just curious, how many calories per day are you all eating? MFP allows only 1280 for me for a 1 lb a week loss. But I am finding it hard to eat only that. Feel hungry a lot.0
-
Totally thought I posted here towards the beginning of the month but apparently not!
I started at 214lbs around Christmas. Currently 202 and I am headed to 170 by June. I am not working out due to an injury however, I am renovating my house so I get a little extra movement in on the evenings and weekends. I eat around 1200-1680 calories a day.

When I get lighter, I get fewer calories too. To compensate, I work out so I can eat more. A 45 minute walk can yield me an extra 300 calories. I also try to not break fast until as late in the morning as I can make it. I always feel like once I start eating, I've woken the beast and this can result in wanting to eat more. Some people do intermittent fasting where you eat from say 10am to 5pm then no more. You can retrain your body this way.
Edited to say: I currently eat 1200-1680 calories depending on how hungry I am. MFP allows me 1680 to loose 1.5 lbs a week.2 -
Hi everyone
I sincerely hope you are meeting your goals and standing tall and proud of yourself 🙂
I'm embarrassed, ashamed, mortified but pretty much down and apologies for leaving this awesome challenge.
I had really hoped it was what I needed to recharge and make a fresh start.
For me, accountability and support is what works best. I have proven this to myself many times.
However, despite being constantly on a diet so to speak, logging daily, 1300 calories, I'm gaining every single solitary week 😔.
I don't know why, I simply can't understand it.
I feel like a fraud being here, so leaving.
Continued good luck 🤞 for you all.
