Only down 0.6lbs this week. I was down lower but one salty day and I'm up 2 pounds in a day. It's crazy how much our weight changes everyday. Ive been weighing in everyday to stay accountable and I think it's helping. I've been going to the gym everyday no matter how I feel (except the days I work 12 hour shifts). Yesterday I was not as motivated because my coffee maker broke in the morning, so I was in a bad mood but I still got a good workout in. I also take my dog on a walk everyday, so I close all rings on my watch pretty early in the day which feels good.
One day at a time!9 -
Hi, peeps! I am not new to MFP but am new to communities and just found this thread.
Age: 50
Height: 5'6"
SW: 248 lb (1/31/2022)
CW: 237.8 lb (3/6/2022)
March GW: 228 lb
UGW: Healthy BMI by November birthday :-)
Weight lost: 10.2
Pounds until goal: 97.8
I'm still teleworking from the Pandemic so I walk during meetings and after work. I'm also trying to incorporate strength-training three days a week as it really boosts my calorie burn and helps me lose inches.
Goals for March:
Strength-train three days a week, every week
Average 15k steps per day
Yoga three times per week (alternate days with strength-training so I'm doing a little something every day)

@CupcakeCrusoe your posts are always so encouraging to everyone! Thank you!
@kenziestabes you're doing so awesome! I love that your co-workers do that!!! I can't do a push-up to save my life. Love the idea that you're doing dips!
@Minxgill Welcome to this thread! This is a very supportive group. I started last July and just stopped MFP in February - got frustrated at myself - deleted everything - gained 4 pounds in that short time. First thing I did was get back in this group. I had to get a new username and everything, but my head is back on straight and feel better having started up again!4 -
@kenziestabes
But when you do your first set of full fledged pushups, their jaws will drop!!!! Years ago when I was near or at (my repeat goal weight) 122 lbs my son and his friend, were shocked into silence. They were talking about what they do for exercise to maintain their physique. I was about 55 at the time. I remember we were at a cookout. I had a summer dress on and I dropped and did 10 really good form pushups. The friend said, "Oh my gosh, my mom would never be able to do that! And they were proper pushups too!" My son was quite proud. I want to get back to that skill again too!8 -
Hello Everyone!
This seems like a really supportive group and I'm excited to be back at MFP!
I'm trying to get back on the wagon after a roller-coaster-ride with my weight for the past ten years. (Actually, my whole life) Was heavy-ish through middle/high school, went down to about 130 in college, I had my son in 2009, stress-ate my way up to 220ish, lost a bunch of weight (with MFP) around 2012, went down to 140 and kept it off for a bit, then slowly started regaining. Covid was the catalyst and now I'm back around 220. I'm just getting started again, but I've done it before, so I'm sure I can do it again.
Height: 5' 8"
Goal for end of March: 200?
Ultimate goal: 150 or 160?
Goals for March:
Incorporate more walks and exercise
More vegetables, less pasta
invite/involve my son in walking and cooking healthy meals
Less sweets/ breads/ carbs
More water
Less snacks
Incorporate more non-food rewards- visits, day trips, etc.
Take it slow

Hello ladies,
I followed Feb but decided I should participate this March. I'm a married, mother of two that decided on Halloween 2021, I needed to make changes for myself and my kids. I needed to get my crap together, start taking care of myself and set a great example for my kids.

Good morning and happy hump day, everyone!
I've just finished my weight lifting. My performance is suffering, I need to have protein beforehand for sure.
Tag party!
@hap2go I know you've heard this before, but weight loss isn't linear, don't get discouraged! Your body retains water depending on recovery from workouts, sodium intake, time of the month, or even based on how much water you take in!
@goldenxbeauty meal planning and cooking gives you so much control over everything. I love using MFP's recipe calculator.
@kenziestabes These jocks will notice your progress, so hopefully you've got a baked in cheering team!
@ladychr0nic I totally feel the no-coffee-blues. A workout doesn't have to be good, it just has to be done!
@Minxgill welcome to the thread! 15k steps a day, whooo! Get it!
@DanaRenee518
@swimmom_1 you can get back there!
@KatieHall77 Your story is pretty much mine. You can build the habits you need now to never have to do that again. Non-food rewards are so important, it's great that you recognize that.
@_manny_702 I hope you feel better soonest, to get it going.
Tonight is taco night, as it usually is when I don't know what to cook, Have a great day, everyone!

I had my first foray into cooking with tofu last night (I've had tofu before, just never cooked it myself).
It turned out delicious and so pretty! Tofu stir-fry with red bell peppers, broccolini, ginger, and garlic over brown rice.

Yum! That does look good and very pretty. I want to try cooking/making meals with tofu sometime too.1 -
Hi Everyone, I'm back on Fitness Pal. I'm happy to report that in all I've lost 50 pounds but I have a hard time sticking to it. I joined a program called Real Appeal which is free through my work.
On my birthday, I turned 55 and I had an epiphany that I didn't want to live the next half of my life obese. I started making some changes. On the program, I have lost 8 pounds in three weeks.
I would like to be on a board that will help keep me motivated since I have a long way to my goal.12 -

OMG I love that you put this! This is a problem in my household too!!

First upward fluctuation today - need to remember that that's all it is, it doesn't mean I won't lose again, and it certainly doesn't mean I should give up!

Good morning and happy Friday eve!
(every time I say that, I feel like a radio morning zoo host, lol) Tonight is italian sandwiches for the fam, I'll just be having mine on one of those low-calorie fiber tortillas. Those things are lifesavers.
Work is so busy, ugh. Tag party time!
@kirstygudgeon5590 yessssssssss if there's one thing I want to impress on absolutely everyone, it is to keep calm and carry on about fluctuations.
@seltzer_lover it looks incredible! BRB, coming over for dinner.
@KobiHensley hi! you've found a really good group!
Back to my pre-ovulation weight, hooray. Now to keep going...

march goal weight 215
GW 190

Wednesday was a father daughter day with two meals out. Went way over on calories but tried to make smart choices re nutrition - salad/grilled fish etc. Food is DEFINATELY love in our family. That's a hard thing to control after 54 years.

My weight isn't moving on the scale. I'm working out hard everyday, tracking everyday. I'm really trying hard but if anything my weight is going the other way. I know I'm building muscle but you would think the scale would still move in the right direction. I just feel defeated and angry. Does anyone else weigh in everyday? I have been, and I write my weights on a calendar on the fridge because I thought it would motivate me but if anything it's making me feel worse. I did lose an inch in my waist so that's a good thing but still. I have been working soooo hard you would think I would see more progress.
I just came to vent. If anyone wants to be friends, add me9 -
I love this thread. I gained a lot of strength and confidence in February with being consistent with my nutrition and working out. I haven't completely lost my motivation, but I am definitely being fueled by consistency vs motivation.
March Goals: Same as February. Make good food choices and since I am doing a 90 program I want to stick with the program schedule and not fall behind.
Age: 35
Height: 5'7"
SW: 280
GW: 150
March SW: 262.2
March GW: 252.2
March 1: 262.2 - down 17.8 pounds - I started a new workout program yesterday which is cardio heavy, but also more on par for my fitness level. I'm able to push myself more because I can actually do the moves well. Looking forward to a great month!
March 8: 260.4 - Down 19.6 pounds - I'm really late with this weeks update. I had a really long hectic weekend and my body was like girl take a break. This week I have been feeling so out of it. Like who cares about healthy food and exercising, but I'm still here, and I'm still pushing.

Bodies gonna body how bodies do. The number on the scale is just a description of your relationship with gravity in that moment, that's all. When was the last time you went #2, when was your last period, how much sodium have you had lately, did you ramp things up in the gym recently, is Mercury in Gatorade or something, etc.7 -

This happens all the time! You have to keep on tracking and doing what you normally do while your body catches up. It's absolutely obnoxious, but you have to keep on keeping on.
If the fluctuations on the scale drive you nuts, get an app like Happy Scale that smoothes out your fluctuations. Mine syncs directly with my scale so I don't ever look at the "real" number - I look at the Happy Scale number.3
