    Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 - day 1 again. Feeling optimistic. Joined this app again after being inactive for two years. Food planned for the day, hope to stay put.
5/18- Morning mood: woke up feeling energetic and happy. I haven't had a good day in terms of healthy choices and self discipline in ages. Determined to make it to a streak of 2. End of day: Had a good day overall but felt hungry at times. In the evening, I almost gave in to the late evening snack monster, but ended up having a few hazelnuts instead.
5/19 - Morning: Feeling really hopeful and determined to keep this streak up for as long as I can. I've forgotten how much tracking helps. I've organized my meals for the day and hope for the best. With the weekend ahead I feel very grateful for this head start.
5/20 - Almost didn't check in today because of lack of time at work. Thankfully, I thought it over and realized it took me just 3 minutes to log in, log my food and write these lines. Made me feel so much better. Meeting a friend for a drink tonight, so I'm nervous about my choices, especially with the weekend around the corner. But with this new-found confidence, I hope I can make it.
5/21 weigh-in this morning 73,7! Finally starting to feel like myself again, less bloated and feeling full all the time. I also just realized that I made it half way through this challenge quite easily. Definitely joining the next one. Anyway, the dreaded weekend is here. I have a dinner party tonight and a children's birthday party tomorrow morning. Thankfully the friend who is cooking tonight is into healthy food and usually doesn't go overboard but I'm still very nervous. If anyone is reading this and has any tips, they're greatly appreciated.

@Veraandriop I would say that if you can't control the types of foods that are offered, just watch the portion sizes. This also helps develop healthier new habits. But above all, the best advice is to have fun!

    Day/Weight/Comment
05/16 …..203.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
05/17 …..204.2 ….. (Trend weight 203.2) All day travel throughout Northern Michigan yesterday with a friend who had an appointment to look at a new (used) vehicle. Then lots of fun girl time and travel hitting car lots within a 200 mile vicinity. We think we found something after hours. Waiting for a return call today. Nice meal at a steak house. Snacks weren’t good.

05/18 …..204.4 ….. Trend weight 203.2) Dinner out with one of my children last night. Late Mother’s Day dinner. Mexican. Today is my PC doctor appointment and glucose check. I know it won’t be good. I am beginning to suffer from severe Acid Reflux again. All the problems of obesity are returning. I know I have to get more serious and stay more consistent or more trouble is coming.

05/19 …..203.4 ….. (Trend weight 203.3) A friend brought dinner over last night. It was a pasta casserole which was loaded with chicken. I think I really needed the protein. My A1C went down at my doctor appointment but is still way to high standing at 10 point something. She wants to see me at 6.4 . She is going to see if another injectable medicine can be approved by my insurance company as she thinks I am having an allegric reaction to Trulicity (rash at injection site). Obviously she wants me to increase movement and lower my carbs to lower weight and glucose. She talked about my weight and how it will affect the cancer remission. Scary stuff.

05/20 …..201.0 ….. (Trend weight 203.0) A big drop on the scale which is mostly water weight. With all the travel of late I had not been able to take my water pill (heart) which I take 3 times per week. I also had extra fluid buildup from the swelling caused by the gnat bite attack. Also, a very early dinner last night, but it did lead to some snacking later. I kept that snacking under pretty good control, however. I would say my real weight is more like 202. We will see what happens tomorrow.

05/21 …..201.6 ….. (Trend weight 202.9) This is likely my true weight at this point. I like that it is at 201 point because it makes me feel like Onederland can be achieved soon. Of course, until I hit 197 point I don’t feel secure in it so I still have a way to go but I’m feeling hopeful as the good weather enters Northern Michigan more consistently. I am happy to see my trend weight went down a bit.

    05/22 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)

    05/23 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)

    05/24 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)

    05/25 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)

    05/26 …..xxxxx ….. (Trend weight xxxxx)

    Previous days

5/17 – Went for a really nice walk this morning because I wanted to give my hip a break. On my walk I got to see baby geese, baby swans, ducklings, and an owl at the nearby pond/trails. It was such a nice walk to be immersed in nature on a gorgeous morning! Food has been on point today as well. I have a massage to go to in a few minutes and plan to strength train tomorrow. Have a good night!
    5/18 - did not post
    5/19 - did not post
    5/20 - did not post
5/21 – Exercise and food have been good the past few days. Work has been crazy and finding the time to post has been challenging. Today was super productive though, I went to the gym, spruced up my resume (I like to keep it up to date), flip flopped some furniture in the house (swapped my desk with where my husband’s desk was to make a couple things easier when he’s home and I’m home working), did the dishes, made baby back ribs on the grill for dinner and cleared off the counters that have a tendency to collect random silverware and other items throughout the work week. The ribs should have probably stayed on the grill for longer because they had more of a pork chop texture versus that fall of the bone rib texture. I enjoyed them but my husband wasn't the biggest fan. Next time, I'll stick to the Crock pot for ribs. Laundry and the gym are on the agenda for tomorrow, along with figuring out some meals for the week, and cooking some beets and potatoes from our csa last week.

@Veraandriop - Weekends are challenging for most of us. I try to plan for most weekends to some extinct even when the menu is not in my control. If going out, I look up the see if the restaurants menu is on line and pick what I want before I go. If not on line and not familiar with restaurant, I still log my food and I am mindful of my choices. If I have a party to go to like you are going to I am mindful of my choices but I enjoy myself also. I try to socialize more instead of focusing on food. I don't waste calories on foods that are not worth it either. :) I also NEVER go to parties hungry. I eat a good low-fat and low calorie protein snack, this helps me to eat less at party or restaurants. I hope this helps!

FYI - My goal every weekend is to maintain :) If I do that, it is a win! If I lose it is win win...lol If I gain, I will try harder next weekend ;) I have gotten a lot better on my weekends believe me...

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"

In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
    r3o1lagrbd1i.png
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
    uzs2w5a7aw1h.png
My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"

I joined MFP on March 27, 2010, weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.

I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.

Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.

Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.

On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.

My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO, the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively every day. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Every day I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.

Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.

That is so helpful! Planning ahead really works wonders. I can't say I made the best choices in the end but it wasn't as bad as I thought - I'm getting there. Hope you had a good Saturday yourself!
