🌼Hello, ladies, and Happy June!!!🌼
🌼Summer is here again (for most of us)!
🌼What are your goals for June? How about for the summer as a whole? Is there anything big that you're looking forward to? Any concerns or things that might be a problem this month?
🌼We're trying to have a Joyful June, so what are the things that bring you the most joy? And what makes you laugh the most?
🟡If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
🟡In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
🟡All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
🟡Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
🌼This June, let's be joyous, jubilant, and get the job done!!!🌼

I stopped my journey when covid hit having such a hard time getting back on goal...goal this month to be more active and drink more water.13

I started back up again in May and want to keep logging for a joyful June. I’m 48 female currently trying a 1300 cal low carb high protein way of eating. I’m not noticing much loss on the scale but i want to stay with it because I’m feeling a-lot better overall. Please add me I need accountability friends as well as motivation. Let’s celebrate our none scale victories and keep each other sane.15

Here's to a great June, everyone!
It looks like I’ve done it again, guys; I’m in a new fix.
I am going to make that flight weight for the floatplane in Alaska late next month - with clothes on – hooray ! 🐻🐻🐻
I need to lose about six more pounds for comfort before weigh-in, and I can do that, especially with all of your help.
But here’s my new situation, and I promise, I’m not making these things up:
Less than two months after Alaska, I’m going to Europe for a wedding. Big plane this time.
Lucky, you say? Hmm, not exactly.
The bride is a celebrity you’ve all probably seen – her face is familiar but maybe not her name.
Anyway, the wedding is a HUGE four-day production with multiple events and locations – a castle 🏰, etc., and with numerous costume changes required for the guests as well as the bride. Of course, everyone has to be camera-ready and a movie will be made. 😳
I’m going in support of the mother of the bride, and to help her where I can. She’s a dear friend, who is happy about the marriage but is horrified with this extravagance amidst the current challenging times for many and (hopefully) the end of a relentless pandemic.
So, it looks like I’ll be playing the role of the chunky wedding guest that makes all the other beautiful people look even better by comparison.
I figure that I can lose about another five or six pounds after Alaska and before the start of this shenanigans, but there’s no way that I won’t stand out among the starved, carved, and plumped in only the right places. I wonder what the latest Hollywood diet craze is?
My plan is to stay on the sidelines as often as possible so that I can be edited out of any film or photos. Or, I could just wear an outrageous, giant fascinator on top of my head and look like the nutty distant relative that showed up for the wedding cake.
I’d really appreciate any sources you all have for cocktail and evening dresses that are slimming, and any miracle shape-wear out there that might smooth out the situation. ; )

Hi all, I'm new to this group though I've been reading the posts for a few weeks now. I'm still getting to know the community aspect of the app.
My June goal is to keep going the way I have been. Maybe I'll lose 4lbs, that'd be nice. I don't own a scale so I only weigh myself sporadically. My current weight should be around 282lbs but I'm due for a weigh in on Saturday. I do use a tape measure somewhat regularly and I have a bunch of clothes that could fit better if I lost some fat so those are my main ways of tracking progress.
I'm quite fitness-focused as restarting exercise again after a sedentary pandemic lifestyle has kickstarted my weightloss journey (completely accidentally). I'm noticing a lot of changes in my physique and when I am T-posed I finally see definition on my upper arms showing what I assume are my biceps. Very cool. I feel my muscles taking shape and moving around (and aching when I push myself hard) and I can feel bones under all the fat that I couldn't feel before.

Good morning everyone, happy June! Thank you so much @RavenStCloud !
188.4 this morning, looks like the high yesterday was water related. Hopefully this is, too.
June is for another vacation and diet break! I'm so looking forward to our trip, and then being home for almost a whole week, to clean house and go hard at pole gym and generally bum around, lol. I'll probably come up with a home improvement for myself to do before then, I usually do.

Yesterday I signed up to be a member of the pole gym, and they had an opening for a pole twerk class last night, which was a lot of fun. Everyone was doing forearm stands up against the pole, and I was like, there's no way, haha, BUT! The lady next to me came over and told me to try, and she grabbed my leg halfway up and put it up by the pole. So, I did it, kind of!
It was a blast. This is going to be so fun and rewarding, and it's definitely bringing me joy this June. I never thought I could do the things I'm already doing in there. And everyone is very nice, and there are a lot of ladies my size and larger doing some amazing things.
Anyway! Happy hump day everyone, tag party time
@bklyngal72 more water and more movement are great goals.
@RoseMarie713 Hi! Quick thought: 1300 is pretty low! If you're not seeing progress, you might want to bump up your calories a couple hundred, and make sure you're logging accurately. Ymmv, my two cents is worth what you paid for it, etc. Very few people actually have to decrease calories that low to lose weight.
@tahitig omg I'm rolling this morning, I can't believe this, lmao. Depending where you carry your weight, most people find empire waist dresses and a-lines to be the most slimming, as the dress wouldn't cling to the midsection. I love a dress that has a layer of chiffon and a layer beneath it, so one layer is opaque and one layer moves and swishes more, neither layer clinging too much. As far as shapewear, I haven't bought any in a while, but spanx are very widely known, and I've heard great things about the miraclesuit from bare necessities. May the odds be ever in your favor, lol.
Oh! And congratulations on hitting your goal! I have no doubt you'll be able to do it again for your comfort goal!
@bojaantje3822 welcome! You sound like you've got some amazing goals, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about your workouts!
Have a great day, everyone!

I've also got a wedding in Oct and while it's not a celebrity thing, my friend and her other friends are all into cycling and are skinny and stunning things. But I also plan to be stunning, just with more curves! I ended up buying a dress on Shein there for the hen party, I'd love to not buy fast fashion but right now my budget is super super tight. I just go through the pics to see what looks good on others about my size and decide from there. If you can going to a local boutique they can be a great help in finding stuff that is more flattering depending on your build. Like my sister is pretty flat chested and needs to wear different stuff to me, but she's also slimmer than me these days.
Good luck, hope you have a fab time. I would focus on having fun with your friend, sod the pictures and videos.3 -

🌼🌼🌼 June GW: 196 - aka Onderland! 🌼🌼🌼
This month I'm focusing more on progressing my walk-jogging. Got out again last night, did 3km (mostly walking) but I did break a sweat and wow were my hips sore after (also my arms...lol, I have a ways to go with fitness!). I'm aiming for two sessions per week and to see some improvement by the end of the month in my pacing. I'm also educating myself on form, stretching and strengthening I can do to support this. I got new runners last week which are a big upgrade from what I was wearing.
After that I want to find some consistency in bodyweight exercises I can do around the house. Work has been hectic, so I need something that will work for me throughout the day and where I'll see the difference when I go out and paddle/swim/walk.
Best wishes to you all for the month ahead and thank you for the support to date!5 -

🤔 Maybe you could slip the photographer/videographer a little $$ to get that celeb editing treatment. Just kidding.
@Cupcake_Crusader pole classes?! I'm very interested in trying that but I really doubt I'd have the upper body strength to do it. Keep us updated!3 -

Good morning and Happy June!
June has a lot going on.... especially the beginning. Today is my daughter's last day of school so in about 2 hours she'll be home with me every day until the end of August. That means more snacks sitting out and more questions about breakfast, lunch, dinner and why can't we eat McDonald's flying at me all day while I work. Needless to say that will be a challenge in itself. However, I survived without going too crazy last summer and I will just have to repeat that this year.
We haven't hit our Zumba classes yet this week since the gym was closed Monday and my TOM has come in strong as well. So my Fitbit log is pretty darn sad but by next week I'll be back to moving. It just doesn't feel good at all to move a lot right at the moment. Also, the last school week is always a bit crazy.
On Sunday we are surprising my daughter by taking her and a friend to a water park hotel for a few days. I also found out yesterday that a different friend's mom booked the same place for the same days. The 3 girls are going to go berserk when they find out.... which is why we aren't saying anything until we pull up at the hotel. Needless to say it will be hard to eat well when we're hitting the snack bar on a budget every day.... probably pizza and fries all around and won't that be fun to track. However, they grow up too fast and I'm more focused on enjoying the mini vacation with my girl and husband than I am my food choices for 3 days.
As for goals, I spent May trying to get my blood glucose back down. Since I'm a diabetic controlled only by diet and exercise (no meds except birth control for my PCOS symptoms) I spent May trying to bring my numbers back down. They had crept up on me as I slipped a lot in previous months. I'm happy to report when I did my at home A1C (3 month average) test this morning it was 5.8.... which is just barely into the "normal" range for someone without diabetes. YAY!!!! I'm more concerned with this number than my weight honestly. I need to get the weight down and my muscles more toned but none of that matters if I still let my glucose go nuts. My husband's aunt had both legs removed from uncontrolled blood sugar and his mom's feet turned black. I'm not going that route.
June Goals:
Continue to keep blood glucose under control
Check fasting blood glucose every morning
Weigh in every Saturday
Go to Zumba class at gym at least 2x week
Walk my neighborhood at least 3x week (we have a LOT of hills)
At least 5,000 steps on non-gym days and 10,000 on gym days (except the 3 days we are away)
SW: 300
CW: 239.2 on 5/27
GW: 190 (officially overweight instead of obese)
May - A1C at home 6.4
June - A1C at home 5.8

@RavenStCloud thank you so much for these threads.
@bklyngal72 I hope you don’t have any lingering issues. Being active and getting water sounds like an excellent start
@RoseMarie713 I sent you an add. I try to keep honest and post everything but June might be a bit off kilter.
@tahitig Alaska and a celebrity wedding! That’s amazing. I hope you have a blast at both and share photos of your adventures!
@bojaantje3822 I’ve always found a tape measure to be a better judge than the scale.
@CupcakeCrusoe The pole classes sound so fun! I should see if anything near me has a class I can just test out.
@DeterminedKins Great goals for starting back on the bandwagon. It’s so easy to come up with excuses…. I know if I really want to skip out it’s so easy to have excuses. Coming back is what is most important.
@LuckiS32 welcome to the group! Those are great goals. I used to weigh daily but then I started stressing over it. I hope you do fabulous!
@porquenoirl My daughter is going to start in a kids running program in the fall and I know I’ll have to try to keep up so she can do the 5K at the end. Maybe I should start now with walk-jogging….. but I really hate jogging & running. LOL. If you have good info on stretches and strengthening to help I’m all ears.

@JAC581 - Comparison is indeed the thief of joy. Our journeys are all very different and specific to us as people and comparing ourselves and our progress is not at all helpful.
@mmdeveau - that is so scary! I've been through that (6+ years ago now) and have lived to tell the tale. Please DM me if you have any questions - I'd be happy to share my outcomes with you. I was also told if I hadn't gone to the ER that I would have likely died during the night. And congrats on hitting the 100-pound mark!
@CupcakeCrusoe - Pole class sounds awesome!
@Generic_Excuse - You had a great loss in May! Keep it up!
@tahitig - A-line dresses are your friend. As is a large hat/fascinator. And Spanx or Skims or whatever works for you/the dress! I went to a local lingerie store when I needed some specialty foundation garments for my dress for my brother's wedding. While I didn't have a budget for that - it was a DEAR GOD FIND A BRA THAT WORKS EMERGENCY - anytime I've gone to them for bras, they've always been great when I gave them a price range.
@pamperedlinny - Congrats on getting your A1C down. I know that's a HUGE accomplishment and a major NSV!5 -

@pamperedlinny water park! How fun!! Yeah I think it's the same for alot of us in the summertime. So much going on and especially during trips, which with kids can be stressful enough, adding food control to the list can be too much. Not only that but if we do trips with 4 kids here we are normally ballin on a budget! 😆1

I post weigh- in when I lose.
6/1: 251.6
🌻 June GOALS! 🌻- Log daily on MFP, post here regularly and track on my spreadsheet ✔
- Keep making progress with walking longer and continue walking 6 days a week ✔
- Add strength training without injuring myself this time (weights, body weight and stretching)
- Eat at a sensible deficit ✔
- Up the NEAT by cleaning 20 minutes a day and cooking
- Meal plan and cook at home
- Water water water
I added a few goals since I was successful with making progress with all of them except for strength training. I injured my wrist when I tried. I am going to start with my lowest weight for all exercises for now.
As to weight loss it looks as if I am going backward but that is because of temporary b'day Memorial day celebration week. I have stayed between 250-248.4 last month which was lower than the month before and this month my goal is to stay between 249-245. My focus is on getting stronger recovering my fitness level after recovering from breast cancer at the end of last year. I was told I am in Survivorship the beginning of this year so I want to shoot for thrive-orship this year. Yes I would like to speed up my weight loss to about a pound a week in general with some rests from deficit periodically but I want to be able to walk around Greenlake again without rests (almost 5K) more. I am close.
Another accomplishment I wasn't looking for is that my knee seems better. I walked down an incline last weekend that usually would have caused discomfort in my knee and didn't. I also have been able to walk down graded roads instead of flat sidewalks without it bothering me. I did have a few twinges last weeks though on one walk where I stepped a bit wrong so I have to be careful. Thinking about getting physical therapy for getting exercises which will help my knee.
6 -
I read all your posts but here are a few notes:
@bklygal72 you are smart to focus on a few achievable goals
@tahitig congrats on making the flight weight. All the best for your future weight loss endeavors.
@porquenoirl I used to run walk around Greenlake 2-3 times a week. It is almost 5K. I loved it. Before I started it I did C25K and could run around it but I found the run-walking just healthier for me. Then my Drs told me not to run due to arthritis in my knee. I miss it. Every once in a while when I have been walking really regularly I will break into a gentle run. I came up with a bunch of desk office exercises I did when I was working.
@pamperedlinny Sunday sounds fun. Glad you got blood glucose down. Health 1st.
@kensiestabes how nice that you are looking forward to this month. Enjoy!

Good morning everyone!
188.4 again this morning, but as I'm logging in grams, I definitely know it's due to my soreness, not my food.
Speaking of soreness or lack thereof, my biceps feel bigger, for sure. (The bruise is from pole, lol, I get so many bruises from pole) And my abs feel tighter.
Anyway, I'm waitlisted for a low-flow class this evening, called Oh Split! lol. As the name suggests, it's working on trying to do a split. Hopefully a spot opens up so I can get in. I might go over to the gym around the time class starts just so I can be on the scene if someone cancels last minute, we'll see.
I think dinner tonight will be leftovers- we have a lot of bits and bobs in the fridge right now. Some pulled pork, a couple ribs, some tamal pie from yesterday, deli meat for sandwiches...
Anyway, tag party time!
@DeterminedKins welcome back! You're back here with us now, that's what matters. Keep posting through it, lol, we've got you.
@LuckiS32 I love your goals, welcome!
@porquenoirl those are great goals! For bodyweight exercises, I love this guy: youtube.com/c/HybridCalisthenics. He makes progression toward harder bodyweight stuff very accessible.
@Generic_Excuse You should see if there's a class in your area to try it out! It is definitely challenging, but there is still plenty to do even if your upper arm strength isn't great yet. I like your goals!
@lmgoff232 yesss almost to spring break! summer vacation! (lol, the coffee hadn't kicked in yet)
@pamperedlinny omg, those girls are going to be so pumped! I'm so excited FOR them! Have fun, and well done on the A1C numbers, that's great!
tags to be continued, I have to leave for work, lol!4 -
Happy June!
Thanks so much for these threads @RavenStCloud
Starting weight - 238
Current weight - 232
Goal weight - 188
I'm back on here after a year or so. I got down to 190-odd lb before covid. But the whole pandemic happened and I'm back to where I originally started. But this time I'm determined to lost weight and keep it off.
I am turning 30 in the summer (August - it's creeping closer!) and I really want to be in better shape, physically and mentally. So I'm keeping an eye on what I eat (I have a tendency to snack a lot and often), getting moving and increasing my fruit and veggies.
I'm also focusing on the positives in my life, tracking one thing that's made me happy each day. Keeping an eye on my non-scale victories (I've hit my Google Fit targets for the last seven days!). And I've got myself a list of rewards for different stages of my weight loss journey. Like buying myself some flowers for 5lb down, getting a new hairstyle for 30lb.

@seltzer_lover reorganizing a closet is such a good goal, oof, my closet is a disaster atm, lol.
@kenziestabes I love game nights so much. Since I had kids, I haven't been able to attend our friend game nights as much, and I miss them a lot.
@bonniemcc4 survive the first month of summer vacation is right! Kids can be exhausting
@KeriA I'm so glad your knee is doing better! And physical therapy would be a great idea, I think! If your health insurance wouldn't cover it, I wonder if you could find a gym where they have a certified physical therapist on staff.
@EDTake2 you've got this. You can totally get more exercise- maybe try out some things to see what you look forward to doing?
@_manny_702 routines are great. Once habits are on autopilot, they're easier to do.
@Inky_one I love your handle, haha! You've got a great mindset, knowing your strengths (tracking NSVs and a good thing each day is great!) and weakness (snacking! lol, me too!) is going to help you so much. You've got this, and welcome!
Whew, got to the end. Have a great day, everyone!

I'm totally in the learning phase myself. I will say that this is the first time in my life I've felt a want to jog or run, so I have that going for me. In the past it's not something I ever wanted to go near.
I've been looking up stuff on youtube, I find hip stretches really helpful in particular but I know I need to strengthen my hips and core too.
One thing that's been a great help is my tens machine, cost me about €15 and it's great for niggles and small pains. And occasional dips in the sea (still bloody cold though!).
Good luck with it.3 -

188.4 again this morning, but as I'm logging in grams, I definitely know it's due to my soreness, not my food.

Oh thank you! I'll be checking that out!
What a bruise! I had a major one last month when I got string slap from the bow while out doing archery. Hoping I improve my form enough to not do that again, it was ouchy! We just joined our club and got a bow two weeks ago, hoping we'll be out in the woods this weekend. It's all 3D dummies, no hunting allowed here (suits me, it's not my thing).4 -
Hey all! My daughter is officially on summer break and my husband is also working from home today. Somehow I don't think I'll be getting much accomplished today even though my emails are out of control.
I plan to hit the Thursday night Zumba class at the YMCA tonight. We missed it on Sunday and the gym was closed on Monday. Then I got busy and missed Tuesday. Wednesday doesn't have one. Normally at that point I would have done a workout from YouTube or hit my at home elliptical but it is also TOM and I just want to crash out. Today I'm making myself go. No excuses.
@Generic_Excuse we are ALWAYS ballin on a budget. The only reason we are taking the friend is because a room and park entry is based on 4 person occupancy. If we had to pay for her admission it would just be the 3 of us. We be seriously broke.
@CupcakeCrusoe I actually love leftover nights. Everyone can fend for themselves and the fridge gets a clean out. I love to cook but sometimes I love getting the break from it even more.
@Inky_one I love your rewards and the idea of tracking one positive each day. Those are fantastic ideas.
