Hey y'all,
Trying to decide whether to go out and get hot and sweaty - I had to take three showers yesterday, as I kept getting soaking wet with sweat. Each time I thought I was finished with something, I only got a half-hour or so and needed to be back out there.
Corey borrowed the DitchWitch from work, so our driveway is now repaired and passable, which is good. Had he not done so, I wouldn't have been able to get my car out, as I would have high-centered on the piles of rock. He also pushed rock into place to give us a place to put the garbage cans near the gate, which is a bonus. No more trimming weeds around the cans when I'm mowing.
While he was working over the rock they brought for us, I finished the mowing in the back. I've got to get some headbands or a bandana or something. Baseball caps just don't suffice to keep the sweat out of my eyes. Today, I want to cut some brush, but it can certainly wait until tomorrow. I'm six pounds lighter than I was a week ago, and while I'm aware most of it water, I have to admit I love watching the numbers go down.
So joyous at the fact that my body is actually working again. We take so much for granted in our lives, and the fact is, I had gotten complacent about my health. I am grateful for it now.
Onward and upward, y'all,
Much love,

Morning ladies
I woke up got the dog fed and went back to sleep for a couple of hours,
Last night i heard all sorts of helicopters and stuff flying overhead..there was a drug raid about 3/4 of a mile down the street from here.. Swat team and all..4 -
Big pictures, so I put 'em in a spoiler. The back yard - the daylilies close at night, but will open up again once the sun's fully up.
Corey's orchard:
Morning glories climbing the carport post:
Hydrangeas and hostas. The smaller hydrangea was not thriving on the other side of the front porch, so I transplanted it onto the sunny side, and it's growing like crazy.
Later, y'all,

June ...
FT Work - 5th month of new job. All work in the office now ... dealing with buses and noise.
PT Work as Legal Assistant most evenings and some days. Hahahaha. Kidding ... sort of. Getting tired.
Lots of medical stuff!! Me this time.
Cycling club event, advertising, paperwork, etc.
As much cycling and walking as I can toss into the mix.
A bit of gardening ... unfortunately I can't see the garden when I get home from work anymore.
And whatever I can accomplish from my To Do list.
I have so many meetings and appointments this month!

Thursday ... the end of another week.
This was a 3-day week because Monday was a public holiday. Last one for a while.
I'm wrapping things up at work and starting to get ready to move into my next position. I think I'm looking forward to going. I'm hoping it will be less intense.
This has been an immensely stressful month for several reasons (not just work changes) and I had another meltdown last night.
Thankfully I've got 4 days off now.
Planning to sleep, finish a huge document, rest, cycle/exercise, and hopefully I'll be able to make a little bit of progress in my garden.
I'm supposed to be planting bulbs this month but I don't see that happening. However, when I hand dug this garden bed, I left the smaller bulbs in the dirt ... and they're coming up!!
First day of winter on June 1, massive winter storm last weekend with a lot of snow at higher elevations, and I've got freesias about to bloom!

Lisa - I'll never complain about having to coax the mower around little trees again, lol. Great job.
Our neighborhood sure could use Corey right now to service and sharpen our mowers, by the way. Several years ago a local John Deere sales and service outfit would pick up the mower in the fall, go over it - clean, change fuel filter, etc., for under $200 which included pickup and delivery back to our driveway. They sold out to another outfit who has been kind of iffy.
I mowed the whole place yesterday. The grass was pretty damp in some places, but yesterday afternoon appeared to be the best day to get it caught up since we now have another week of rain in the forecast. Think I'm in the market for a small mower for trimming around the trees and places I can't get to with the big mower.
One of my favorite songs that always kicks me into action is Kiki Dee: I've got the Music in Me. Hope this link works! I think my anthem has always been "If something gets in my way, I go around it." Peace on, lol.
I'm continuing to work on the "to do" list. I'm putting off doing anything with DH's shop and tools/vehicles, etc. until next year. Then will bring in an auctioneer or some kind of Death Cleaners to sort what's valuable and what's junk and haul most of it away. He has a desk, file cabinets and cubby holes which might be storing keys and valuables I can start going through if I need something to do.
Heather - Bon Voyage, can't wait to see the pictures.
Barbie - Bessie and Bernie will enjoy the extra attention. Continued hugs to your household.
Make it a wonderful day!

Yes, this is t minus 2 hours, until we're on the road for Mt Vernon. I will send y'all a pic mid travel. Thinking I will be able to hug son, dil, and grand daughter makes me teary eyed! Sipping black coffee just trying to calm myself.💖👍.

Worked today then went to CVS. I could have sworn that they took sharpies (needles), but they don’t. Vince has all the needles from his allergy shots. I finally convinced him to cut off the needle part, keep them in a separate container and throw the syringe away. Then stopped at Food Lion to get soda that was on sale (just a bit because it wasn’t a great sale) and Gatorade. Admitted, they are a higher price than WalMart. But if I buy two I get a dollar back so in a way it’s cheaper than WalMart.
Terri – we have to get better fast because replacement parts are hard to find….lol Glad you’re feeling better
Vince watered the new plants this morning and we’ll probably do it again tonight. With it so hot, that’s why we’re doing it twice.
Rebecca – safe travels

was a long night- just as I was starting to eat dinner, dh called and said his mom fell again, hit her head and it was bleeding. I rushed over, it had stopped bleeding so got her cleaned up and laundry started. He had to go into work at 11PM so I stayed the night-slept/rested on her couch all night- she was up ever 1 1/2 hrs to use the bathroom which are either upstairs or down stairs. Had to make sure she got up or down ok, coming back she is fine.
Looks like I will be doing at least one night a week for a while. We are picking up a commode chair today and hopefully we can get her to use it during the night. She can get upstairs ok during the day but has problems at night. We put motion sensor lights up the stairs but she still has trouble.
She hurt her ribs also when she fell so that is hurting more than her broken hand/wrist.
If we can make it work with just he and I taking care of her we will but we may need to hire someone to help too. We are still trying to figure it all out- It has been just about a week(fell last Friday)
One thing is I am getting more steps in each day when I take her dog for a walk for 1/2 hr

M I have had some months like you describe. Currently things are going better. When I was going through that time I would try to get myself to stop and take deep breaths and blow out slowly. There is also a delightful woman named Donna Eden on you-tube who has a some self messaging techniques that help in stressful situations. One is you take your hands pass them over your eyes, go slowy behind your ears, then have your hands press slowly down the sides of your neck where your vagus nerve rests. It helps rest your vagus nerve. Sometimes just taking a moment of self care can give enough of a pause to help one through a tough time.
If you do look her up she radiates boundless cheerful energy. Refreshing in these trying times.4 -

Thanks!!!
Now he is wanting me to consider closing the daycare and get paid to be her caregiver.
I wanted to close the daycare before but he said we needed the tax write-off, now I guess it is ok< IF I do it to take care of her.
Sorry, but I am not going to do that- one night a week overnight and walking the dog is one thing but not full time. Not they way she has treated me the last 33 yrs. I will continue to cook food and bring it every few days and do her laundry but not staying overnight more than one or two nights- Dh works nights so if I can help a night or two on his full shifts, I will do it- his other shifts are just 4-5 hrs.
If she was nicer to son and his girlfriend, they could move in and just be there to make sure she doesn't fall at night but she doesn't like the girlfriend- told us she isn't even allowed at her house(same thing she said about me 33 yrs ago)
I will help but I am not going to quit my job and I am not going to give up my zumba classes.
We will work it out- just will take some time to figure it all out.
