Lots of shudders and bumps.
Love Heather xxxxxx
Waves and deep water scare me. Bad experiences as a child. Seeing the waves picture made me shudder!

DH having a toasted sandwich in our room. I am lone dining and waves even bigger! I love it though.
Who knew I am a natural born sailor!

Well I am caught up.
Machka--Sending hugs and prayers. Sounds like you have a lot going on and your breathing exercise works great. You are one of the strongest women I know.
Flea--Happy for your good news!
Debbie--Proud of you for setting boundaries and sticking to them. I agree that is sounds like time to get some outside help with MIL. Sorry to hear DH is being mean. Stand your ground and let him live with the choices he is making at this time.
Heather--Glad you are able to go with the changes and pray the trip goes off without any other issues. Feel the fear and Do it Anyway! Love it and going to use that , thank you. You look so grown up in your dress and cape. Sounds like the trip has been an adventure already. Not sure I could take the waves either. Hope it settles down soon and DH can enjoy everything going on.
Rori--Sounds like a great visit and memory. Love the picture.
pip--Glad that Kirby and Yogi did the walk together. Sounds like just what they both needed. Love Yogi's medal.
Rita--Hugs and prayers!
Carla--I understand how you feel about the girls not even texting their dad on Father's Day. DH's 2 children that live here, did not text, call nothing. My son texted and it breaks my heart and makes me so mad. Someday I hope they realize how much they hurt the ones that love them the most.
SueBDew--Good to see you post, missed you.
Katiebug--Sorry to hear about your loss. May God's comfort and peace be with you and your family.
Rebecca--Sounds like fun and lots of great memories with Athena.
Well time to get some work done. I am only working 3 days this week as was still on vacation on Monday and Friday going to a funeral for a friend from our motorcycle group.

Allie hope the medical news is good!
Pip good to hear you are running again. Yay!
I did my yoga. About to do my fast marching. I'm not ready for the peppy talking yet.

Worked today then senior bowling. I think Vince wants to go to the movies (the cheap one) so probably no walk around the block tonight. But that might be a good thing since it’s supposed to be 100 today.
Heather – what is a “step test”? That dress looks stunning. So sorry they canceled the line dancing. High waves – remember “this too shall pass”
Ginny – I certainly hope all goes well for you
Leslie – welcome!
Water was dripping onto the furnace. The guy from the heating and cooling place is here right now. Vince thinks we’ll still be able to go to the movies, but I have my doubts. Have my “going to the movies” pocketbook ready just in case.
Warm here, 97 degrees. Was in the a/c all afternoon at bowling and then if we go to the movies will be in more a/c, which isn’t a bad thing
Debbie – Hold to your guns, DO NOT quit your job.
Michele NC3 -
Vince just said that we'll go to the movies tomorrow. Told ya.

While Jake napped I rode my exercise bike, read my e book, and waited on hold for customer service to find out why my auto insurance bill is so much higher this year. When Jake woke up more than an hour later, I hung up and tried reaching them through the online chat feature and was told to leave a message and they'll get back to me. It was an interesting exercise in patience and a peaceful way to spend part of my afternoon.

Ours was too ... all the insurances are going up. But I rang them and changed some settings ... like that we never use the vehicle for commuting to work etc. And now it's lower than it was!3 -
Chatted very happily to the couple on the next table at dinner time.
Went up and rescued DH and took him to the centre of the ship bar. (Less movement) He stayed there with his crossword book until I got out of the evening show. Sea is improving now. I hope I sleep tonight.
Hoping to take a few photos tomorrow.
One thing DH is very good at is ringing up and getting good deal on those pesky insurance hikes. Every year they try it on.
Allie - Hope things work out OK. It's all you need! Grrrr!

Terri - so sorry you didn’t have a successful visit.
I hope it doesn’t take that long.
Machka - I had an instant coffee at my cousins on Saturday. I haven’t had any in at least 5 years. I am thinking of buying a bottle now. I think I enjoyed it more than I have been the brewed.
Kelly - I’m stealing the succulent cupcakes idea too. I’ll convince one of the young ladies that likes to bake to treat me. I really don’t like baking and I think I would mess up the leaves. There are some talented young ladies in my life though.
Lisa - your daughter is doing very well in difficult circumstances. Too bad he couldn’t have stayed in Poland.
Pip - I hope you get in soon and heal fast!
Tina - That’s a lot of baking.
Rita - that sounds like a very informative test. They don’t seem to do any preventative type testing here.
Carol - My daughter and her husband have a bed in a box and they love it. I also have a few friends that do too.
Rebecca - happy belated birthday. Enjoy your trip. I would love to ride a train and see a fancy station like that someday.
Barbie - Sasha was a beautiful dog. Sorry for your loss.
Kelly - I am with you.
Debbie - I wouldn’t help more than that either if that’s the way she treats you.
Maybe they’ll have to get care or put her in a home.
Barbara - glad to see you are feeling better. It is Junuary here too. Been raining almost all week and expected again this week.
Rita - I think it’s a shame that he makes you feel bad for travelling. I’m thankful that DH understands my need for socializing while he would prefer to be a hermit.
Flea - I have learned since working in the manor that anytime a resident is out of sorts in any manner, especially falling suddenly or behaviour issues that aren’t normal they test for UTI. I don’t know why they are so bad in seniors.
Lanette - my daughters were telling me how the mushrooms are showing signs of helping with a lot of mental illnesses. Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD are others besides depression they were telling me about.
Carla - I haven’t seen DH yet to find out if our girls contacted him on Sunday. I hope they did. My daughter ages are close to yours they are 33 and 31.
I know our youngest told him she wanted to come visit him on Friday as he worked on Sunday and that is the first day the two of them have off together.
Rori -I love the pictures of you and your friends. My SIL is a huge Avalanche fan. My grandson, Jonah is an Oilers fan. In the round before this my granddaughter (6) was trying to explain what each team needed to win. She also explained her cheering method.
Her favourite team is the Penguins (because they’re cute). Since her team was out she had to help Jonah’s team. If they lost she would then cheer for Dad’s.

My mom declared today that she is done. DNR. Good grief. I'm heading up tomorrow to sort things out. They moved her to rehab, so we will see what they can do with her. I'll bring up her advance directive, which doesn't say DNR, but comes darn close.

Heather - absolutely beautiful photo of you. Your breakfast looks delicious. I am sharing some of your wisdom with a friend that needs to hear it right now.
It looks pretty from your window, but like Machka I don’t think I would fare well. New Brunswick and PEI ferry did me in.
Machka - I agree everyone just makes the best decision they feel they can at any given moment.
Ginny - hope all tests lead to a minor issue and you can continue on your path.
Debbie - I hope you stand your ground and don’t let him bully you. She needs to pony up for her own care financially.
Allie - I hope they get to the bottom of this soon and it’s an easy fix.
Barbie - I have found it more difficult by the day to get in touch with any agency. I just make sure I’m comfortable when I’m getting ready to make a call.
Flea - that’s tough to deal with.
I was off work Fri, Mon and Tues. went back today. I really need to find something else financially and mentally.
Last Thursday Rodger and I went for our date night. It was wonderful. Friday I went with Kaitlyn, our Grands, her friend Raquel and her two children to a small fair. We had a lovely day. I didn’t get home until after midnight.
These are pictures from my fair day. My daughter is the one with the long hair holding her friends baby. The little red haired boy is her friends son. My granddaughter told me when we were taking this selfie. “Good thing Mama braided my hair, it would be crazy like yours”. 😂
This is the daughter that just lost her baby, I am happy to see her still enjoy this honorary niece.
Saturday I went to my cousins a couple hours drive away and we camped on Saturday and Sunday night. On Monday we went to her house. I arrived back home around 7 last evening.
It was a very relaxing weekend all in all.

Kay: Big hugs and deepest sympathy on your dad's transition. I know you will provide him with a memorial that is authentic to him and comforting to all his loved ones.
Heather: That stateroom with the orchids and butler and posh wines looks divine. I can totally understand your loyalty to Saga and excitement prior to each trip. Your face is glowing as much as your sparkly cape.
Take care friends. We can do this.

The thing I like about instant is that I can adjust the quantity to adjust the flavour.
Plus they come in different varieties: https://www.moccona.com.au/our-coffee/
This is my favourite:

If I were your husband, as soon as you dock (tomorrow?), I would be booking a flight back to the UK or doing land travel across Iceland from here on in.
I get "seasick" on the bus I take to commute to/from work ... especially when it's dark outside. One of the reasons I don't like this very dark time of year. I often have to take ginger just to make it home in the evening and sometimes I wear those anti-seasick wrist bands.
Love the colour of your dress and you look like you're enjoying yourself!

More reflections on my mother:I found myself a little angry at my dad today. He died 15 years ago. I was sitting at my desk and said, "Daddy, you should be here for her!" It doesn't seem fair. She was with him when he died and every day leading up to it. He left her to do this on her own, and it isn't fair.
I know someone has to go first and the other will go after, but it is still so very unfair. If he we were with her, in person, I think this would be easier for her.

Much of the time the man does go first.
When my grandmother went a couple years ago it was about 20 years after my grandfather, I think. She always loved him and kept his picture by her bed all those years. When life drew to a close for her, she knew they would be together again and she was happy to go.
Maybe it would help your mother to look at it from that perspective.

Hi folks. Having a little me time today as DH is off birdwatching with one of his pals. Daughter is on the mend, but still testing positive. She’s WFH for a few days. (Her own home).Anniesquats100 wrote: »Well we found the pot roast in the microwave. Mom got it out for lunch and forgot it. I'm just cranky because my side hurts and I have no idea why. Machka: I do admire your choices and all the positive steps you have taken.
Ginny: Fingers crossed for those test results.
Heather: Very glamorous! I can imagine the cha cha class with those waves. 💃🏼Crossing the North Atlantic is not for sissies 😝
Rebecca: Good to see you enjoying time with Athena.
Katla: Sorry to hear that your DH is not doing so well at the moment.
Debbie: You’re going above and beyond for MIL. Good idea to take your own pillow etc.
DrKatie: The kitty may not be a stray. Cats often roam and forage around their homes, even when they are well fed at home.2
